I am starting to think either Anet has managed to hit a vein of hype with some minor point of this update, hired people to deflect the walls of hate with randomly positive comments or the floodgates of new players that have barely experienced the game have opened by the end of summer.

It’s not that this is a horrible patch or anything, but this really is an odd amount of random praise when the first one, which arguably brought the most new content, barely got any at all.

Or a lot of us are just happy that the new content is huge improvement over LS1. And we are also happy to see them take a new direction in what we perceive as a positive direction. You can take off your tinfoil hat, Anet isn’t paying me by the post… Like I stated, I was a huge critic of LS1 and I stand by that.

Same issue with me, exotic tier pet seed… So bummed!

Created the back item (thus the seed) almost a week ago, left it in my bank and now its a poor little pet.

Dear Anet, A lot of us love your “jumping required/optional” content. Please keep it coming!

I had thought that the two character could be connected somehow as well. Cool to see other GW1 players guessing the same!

Dry Top has one jumping puzzle and it is incredibly short and easy. It is also insanely easy to get around on the map, like I can go from entrance all the way to the new area in no time at all and without ANY jumping puzzles.

I’m glad the majority seems to be really happy with this update. You can’t please everyone, that’s for sure. The dialogue argument is honestly pathetic, just click through it… Sad.

I usually don’t think Asura are cute at all, but I have to agree with Taimi… So freakin’ cute!

And yeah that boss fight was actually a lot of fun, although a little diversity with the vines would have been nice I think.

As a huge critic of the previous LS (rest in pieces scarlet), I have to say that this season has been awesome! Dry Top is a wonderfully crafted map, not to mention it is rewarding. The story is interesting and I loved a new take on some of the missions rather than just facerolling everything you see.

So thanks and great work!

Yeah, you’ve been able to get there for 2 weeks. Like I said i’m sure a lot of people have been up there. Just some screens for the people who haven’t looked around

So my good friend and I have always loved exploring in games, and for me at least this was one of our more rewarding finds. I give my friend credit for finding the path! Again this is future content of likely the next area of Dry Top that will open up Geographical Spoilers. I would be very surprised if no one else had discovered this in the past two weeks, but I haven’t seen anyone say anything about it. Huge ups to Anet mapping team for making such a beautiful map, the scale of it feels awesome. I took a ton of screenshots and I will share a few with you, and there is way more to see than what I am showing you. No exploits or glitches were used to get to this location, Enjoy!

So I used about 150 keys since the update, with nothing to show for it as far as kites go. Then, during one storm I got 2 kites from using my last 5 keys. Have you properly done your RNG offerings for the day? : 3

All a matter of personal preference as usual. However, I like the female greatsword stance much more. I was running around on my human male ranger with a greatsword last night, and I was really reminded of how awkward it looked (IMO).

Realistically speaking you would put something like that over your shoulder to balance it (not to mention its a good stance for a first attack). If you held it under you (like female) it would drag on the floor. If you held it straight up in front of you it would be extremely hard to balance while moving even if you were very strong.

Luckily this is fantasy and we can do whatever we want :P

Could be today, could be never… RNG is RNG. I have been playing since pre-release and from a few months after release I had forged literally thousands of level 80 rare weapons back when they were very cheap. I forged 4 precursors out of all those thousands of rares. My best friend got on one day and bought 12 rares on his 2nd forge he got a precursor.

There is only one sure way to get it right now, save and buy it. By the way, I just got my first BL chest key from a mob last night EVER. And many people have never been dropped a precursor including myself. So yeah, welcome to RNG.

Way too many games have this issue, and when I see a game that properly does helmet+hair I pretty much swoon. I’ll take the current clipping issues over the helmet + hair = bald.

What person wants to put a top hat on their female character to make them look like a chemo patient? I cant imagine how much work it would take to fix such an issue… Then again I am no expert on the subject.

They actually ran a gambling game based on the /roll command. If I remember correctly you paid and picked a number, if your number was rolled you won most/all of the pot money (or split with others from the same winning number). Someone else can correct me if wrong, it was like 5 years ago.

Guild Wars1 had this, and it eventually became a problem with people running “lotteries” and scamming became an issue very fast. Not sure what their stance would be on it, but i’m guessing they are worried about that happening again.

So I have been thinking of this for some time, just finally took the time to write it up.

The idea is pretty simple, I think it would be a great addition to the game to add a non-stat slot (meaning no boost at all to stats) for an Aura. I have considered going for certain legendary weapons just for the sole purpose of having an effect on my character, and I am sure others have done the same. The auras could range from slight color glow, to effect auras that leave a trail behind as you run (not footfall trails), and even more noticeable auras (take Juggernaut effect as example).

I would argue that they should be high end items, taking time and collection of both account bound and general materials, maybe even have some account bound scavenger hunt components throughout open world. And very importantly, again, NOT having stats. Please keep this away from the Gemstore as well.

See below: I was one of the guys in GW1 when factions came out that drank the Chalice of Corruption on my necro, and instead of completing the quest to get rid of the debuff of -2 ticks of HP, I left it on my necro because I liked the effect so much.

Let me know if you guys agree or have any better ideas, I just kind of wanted to start the discussion.

Today I had one 22 and THREE level 1 teammates, against a team of 20s-30s, on skyhammer no less. To be fair, three level 1s is unusual, but having a whole team under level 10 is pretty normal. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing, and ruin the game. Even when i’m on the team that has 20-30s against -10s, it is so annoying. I can either camp their spawn or go afk on a point and look at my email etc.

A simple option is to make a level 10 a solo Q minimum. I would like to say level 20, but I would never want to force someone to stay in hotjoin that long.

I want to enjoy soloQ, but its nearly impossible when its either steamroll or get steamrolled 90% of every match.

This is actually fairly valid.

Some people in this thread were complaining that they lose because of noobs, and it ruins Solo Q. I was pointing out that if you’re very good, a game flooded with noobs actually causes you to win more than it causes you to loose, so getting rid of the noobs can’t possibly do anything to help the variance that results in “OMG 8 LOSSES IN A ROW?! RAGE QUIT!”

But, if a person’s complaint is that “the matchmaking system has too wide a range in player selection, and the result is that the games often don’t feel competitive, and I don’t like that when it’s hurting me OR when it’s helping me”, well, that’s a valid point.

Getting rid of noobs can’t help a good player win more, at all, ever, but tightening up the matchmaking system COULD make for more competitive (and potentially more interesting/exciting) games.

I agree and disagree. There is in fact, a large difference between even a person who is not highly skilled yet knows the strategy of Tpvp and a total newb. You can carry a team that at least has some idea what to do much, much easier. Yet I do understand your logic, and agree that it has some truth to it.

The nightmare isn’t truly over until Scarlet bites the dust (hear my pleas ancient gods of old!!), cut-scene was great though. M0ar Marjory, one of the few actually memorable characters in the game so far.

Is that how you want to represent our server? gtfo? I made a comment about the majority of the people in the borderlands maps this week. People who are still a part of Blackgate, people who make Blackgate a great all around server (we are tier 1 in WvW and PvE). Elitism is one thing, but your tone has no place in the conversation in my opinion.

BG wvw core guilds/players do not want a karma train. You would only hear most of these guys if you were on TS. Map chat is usually more loaded with AP hunters constantly calling out “can haz karma train pl0x?!”. Honestly, those of us who want to play the mode as intended (vast majority of actual steady WvW players) are burnt out from hearing this since day 1 of season 1. So, I won’t tell you to gtfo, but please stop asking for a karma train, and instead hop on TS and earn your WXP/AP the legit way.

Again my comment was about the general person on the map. I am in TS, I am earning my karma the legit way, and I am following commanders (even bad ones). I also have not asked for karma trains.

I am very appreciative of what our war council does and the time they put in, but that type of vitriol towards the militia is unneeded and unhealthy for our server. That is my point. You can say that Karma train is unhealthy without stooping to “GFTO” your ruining my game state levels.

I don’t judge all of SoS’s skill for losing this 2 v 7 against me and 1 RIOT member. Just an hour or so later, I fought a really skilled SoS ele for about 7 minutes that ended in a stalemate.

That ele probably is Serane from Agg. The best d/d ele I have ever encountered so far on 1v1. Then again, If he was that ele he should have defeated you, unless you are extremely bunker or a mesmer/thief that constantly steaths to recover.

Nah it wasn’t anyone from Agg, I remember going into the fight thinking he was a pug, so it wasn’t any guild I recognized.

A good D/D ele is kitten hard to kill with condi.

I have been on played GW2 for a while but never tried any PvP or WvW so one week prior to the start of the League I jumped in to see what it was like and have logged in most days since. I am an unguilded (so one of those terrible pugs probably!!!!!!) ele and playing a staff ele in WvW, started off in Beserker, haha don’t laugh soon changed that, and have tried most things, running yaks, refreshing siege, flipping bloodlust, piloting a golem, spamming healing fields, not always at the right times and it has been a blast. It makes PvE a pale imitation. I don’t really know much about the server politics and don’t care I just enjoy playing the game and learning how to play my characters better.

First of all great post, I hope more PvE/Xers can read this post.

Secondly, I am not laughing, I run zerk staff ele. It is actually one of the most fun builds I have ever played in WvW, each meteor hits like a back-stab, don’t even let me go on about the damage of an icebow, Ice Storm and 4-6 downed players. I obviously play backline, and you have to watch enemy movement like a hawk. It is incredible how little backline gets focused though. There is nothing like having to pop mist form so you don’t get downed from retaliation <3

Note: If you are not with a group to distract enemies, this is probably the worst build in existence. It is 100% dependent on making yourself scarce while nuking the enemy.

Why are people trying to make caring about PPT an insult? If you really felt that way, you wouldn’t be on the forums trying to convince yourself that you don’t care about PPT.

If JQ has been having queues across all timezones in these past few weeks (while playing against tier 2 servers), then this proves that coverage is not an issue for JQ.

Honestly, we only started having queues when season 1 started and the achievement hunters came out in force. Most likely this is the same for all T1 servers and maybe some T2’s. I am sure BG have seen the same.

What you are seeing now is our core plus some WvW converts out there fighting, especially in EU. Since some of the hunters would rather not play WvW if they can’t get their rewards quickly and the idea of actually grafting for them is not so attractive.

Luckily some of them have stayed in WvW so its been good for all sides really. Our WvW participation rate is higher than it was pre Season 1 so as much as I dislike the whole achievement stuff and I play for the realm based pvp alone Anet have ultimately given the WvW format a bit more life.

Conversely, BG’s achievement hounds are still out there with BG’s core because the rewards are easier to get. As others have said, if we had managed to build up a 10K lead over the weekend with crazy hours it might have been boot on other foot.

Personally I am glad the queues are gone because I don’t have to sit around waiting in a queue to play the game format I bought this kitten for.

Our point tick when I logged tonight was 230 and we were starting to get some sort of foothold on BG BL so it was better. Hopefully our NA prime core can push on a bit. If not, I do know they will do their best anyway.

Everyone should read this post, 100% correct. The bigger lead the WvW’ers get the more PvX/E shows up and bolsters ranks, its just that simple. And the complete opposite effect happens to the server with low PPT.

If you don’t think that BG hardcore has played “overtime” this week then you are mistaken. We appreciate JQ coming to fight for real, don’t let a few forum trolls convince you otherwise. Literally the last thing we want to see is JQ fall apart like SoR.

We have been there at BG, those of us who have actually been with BG from thick and thin. I have seen the outnumbered buff many, many times. Did you know we were briefly a T2 server some months back? The core of BG is strong, the guilds that have been here for the long haul are the most of the front runners of our victory and coverage (not to discredit any transfers, much appreciation). Some of those guilds have shrunk to field much smaller numbers, and other have exploded.

You act as though you can never be happy about winning anything, because if you won then you must have had some unfair advantage. There will never be even numbers in every time zone on any server all the time. The BG WvW community has put a lot of work and thought into how to best use our available militia, especially in this match-up (which has been a fantastic week by the way). It seems to me like you are playing completely the wrong game mode, tpvp offers a level playing field with even numbers at all times.

Title says it all, I would love to be able to preview any mini from the bank. Basically just use the “show only weapon (mini-pet)” view in the preview. Something very simple and easy to do, plus I think a lot of people would enjoy it.

Week 6 on roster for BG SoS and Mag… I have been ignoring the thought of it for some time now.

So little roaming these days, I see plenty of solo BG running around. Some Mag as well, but very few SoR though from what I have seen. Toughest fight today was a D/D ele with no guild from Mag, but a few teammates ran in and exploded him mid-fight

Hilarious that you said this, because I caught this moment last night. Note: about 1/3rd of the SoR zerg had already jumped off the cliff, the rest followed shortly after.

This is not meant as an insult to TW or FEAR who are both crafty and skilled on the field, and gave some epic fights in BGBL garri. Just a response to Shiftytroll.

On a second note, I want to win this league for BG. however, I am super disappointed to see a 40k lead on Sunday. I hope SoR gets a defibrillator zap soon.
