I have had my share of great fights with SoR, they generally have my respect in organization and skill on the field. Talking trash to a degree is just part of the match-up.

To IRON, you guys are a fun fight, and the even fights (rare as they may be) have been stellar. That being said, these guys doing PvF are making your guild look horrible. I know you said that they don’t speak for IRON, but they speak as a part of IRON, and letting them spew into the forums is really damaging to your reputation across all T1 (including your own server). Your guild, but I suggest doing something about it. Looking forward to a renewed SoR this friday.

If myself/star didnt have our IRON tags on in the first place you wouldnt have a clue what guild we were on therefore wouldnt be QQing about IRON. I bet if you had your guild tags on in your signature we could have completely different convos on this forum.

My tag is in my sig, not that you recognize it because we run on a mostly different time zone and are a very small amount of people. I could easily tell you are from IRON even if it wasn’t in your sig, because 90% of your posts are talking about IRON. Everyone else must have it wrong, considering I have even seen SoR members speak out against IRON posters.

SoR has never been about PPT and never will. I hope ZD will try and open field fight with the forces here as today it seemed they were just back cappin towers and keeps to keep the ppt up, which is a good tactic for PPT gain after gainin the coverage control.

I’m curious then, where on earth did SoR go? I’m not trying to be sarcastic or anything, i’m genuinely wondering where the fight went that we had earlier this week? Because from where I see it, it seems like BG took a strong lead and since we pulled ahead so far in ppt, SoR stopped caring. I guess I should have taken that as your guild has never cared about ppt. Again, asking a legitimate question here, no shenanigans.

I’ve got to say, earlier this week was way more fun. Where did SoR go, it is only Tuesday? One thing I have always respected about TC when they come to T1, is that they do not give up, even though they pretty much know it is 3rd place for them no matter what. I play WvW for good fights, and we had a ton early this week with TC and SoR.

Bring back the SoR troops! I enjoy fighting you guys, we are obviously rivals and we talk a lot of kitten to each other. But I don’t know what I would do without you <3

I’ve heard forum warriors with your level of dedication are going for at least 2-3c a post, so you are a real bargain.

Seriously though BG, I just waited in queue for 30 minutes, and zoned in to see about 25 afk in spawn. If you aren’t playing then get out.

I love how the entire attitude of this thread is different without SoR and their zerg of forum warriors. Great fun tonight in JQBL, wish TC had more coverage, but you guys are always a joy to scrap with.

I drop by from time to time to check the matchup forums, unfortunately it is always the same. Except now even TC’s seemingly unending positivity on the forums is gone! We are left with some extremely vocal forum warriors on all servers who are obviously all mad, or they wouldn’t feel the need to respond to everything.

We at BG had a rough matchup, a combination of SoR coming in full force, being in a transitional phase (losing some bigger guilds), along with a tough update time for us. We have lost before, and will very likely again… This doesn’t mean all is lost or anything. A fresh start will do us a lot of good, so lets come in full force on reset.

I am moving more away from Tpvp and onto WvW as my main source of competitive game-play in GW2. I am looking for a group of about 4-9 players that are usually available to play WvW on Blackgate in the time slot of about 9pm – 2am EST.

The kind of players I am looking for are: respectable and skilled players interested in running a tight 5 man militia, semi-hardcore (competitive, yet laid back), cooperative, friendly, and positive.

I consider a skilled player to be a player that understands and knows the functions and uses of all class/game mechanics, knows build/field synergy, knows how to equip a character effectively, has sharp reflexes, and crafty tactics.

I consider a respectable player to be a player that will have a positive attitude even in the face of an embarrassing defeat, to adhere to the guidelines Anet provides, never cheating or exploiting in any way, that will treat teammates with respect even if they let the whole team down.

My ultimate goal would be to have about 10 active members including myself, so that even if half the guild can’t log on that night there will still be a 5 man available. The only time to rep the guild would be while we are active in WvW, and to try to be available to use whatever voice communication we decide on. There will be absolutely no commitments other than that. No commitments means: no practice (unless we all want to), no rank requirement, no rep (other than if you are in an active 5 man), no guild hierarchy (every member has an equal say).

Most of these were very unique characters doing interesting, or mysterious but SPECIFIC and very Nefarious things that justified the title villain…. And most of them had a very profound impact on what the world is 250 year later.

I was going to come in here and tell you how wrong you were, and then I realized that she is the best we have. The thing is, to me that is sad. I am not a fan of scarlet at all, I think she is just Harley Quinn in Sylvari mode. My opinion of course, but ultimately I have to agree with you.

Just dropping in to give my support to BG on the area of smaller guilds. I have been co-leader in a small PvX guild since early release, and we have been BG since day one. The large guilds have always included us smaller guilds in the fight, and have treated us with mutual respect. Even small raiding groups of randoms can meet up to accomplish something big at BG.

We have had our ups and downs (esp. when transfers were free)… But one thing has always remained fully intact, the core BG players. We have been known as some of the toughest fighters “pound for pound”, of all the servers. And I believe the main reason for that is our willingness to work together as a whole server.

What did you get as a reward?

A rare and 100 Dragonite Ore.

Is that really all?

You get:
– the chest for killing him (character bound)
– the bonus chest for killing him (account bound)
– four Dragon Chests (one for getting him to 75%, 50%, 25%, and 0% health)

All told, I got an exotic, three rares, a handful of blues and greens, some ascended crafting mats, and a bit north of 10k karma.

Edit: I also got three Gilded Coffers from the Dragon Chests, for what it’s worth.

100 Dragonite Ore is pretty kittening nice, in addition to all those bonus chests you mentioned…Definitely worth it to get it dead.

100 dragonite ore is pretty sweet, its about 1-2 weeks of guild missions. Everything else is worth 10s

100 dragonite ore is terrible. I’d rather go do 4 temples that have a 90-100% success rate then do Teq. His loot is terrible and anyone saying that a chance at ascended weapons is worth it is crazy because every world boss and every champ chest has a chance to give you one. The only thing worth while is the mini pet that probably has an even lower chance to drop than a precursor if such a thing existed.

He drops exclusive ascended weapons btw, and supposedly he has the highest chance of dropping an ascended weapon… Don’t have the source for that last bit, but maybe someone else does.

No, world bosses are not crit-able period. However, the megalazer does seem to lower his defense in general.

Well the blue chest was not much to be excited about, but it is possible that even the blue dragon box could contain an ascended item.

We got a blue dragon chest, it had Karma and a rare/green in it.

Yeah it was more like 60%, the megalaser makes him vulnerable and he is inactive for like 20-30 seconds. that when everyone should really be loading on the damage.

In GW1, when they came out with new editions that had features/items that the older editions did not have they let us purchase just the new additions to add them to our accounts. They could do the same here, just let the old timers buy the armor skins and whatever and add them to their accounts. To do that, they would need some kind of store or something setup however. ;-)

Eh, but still those were whole new game expansions. Either way, i’m not mad or anything, i’m just interested to hear from Anet.

The thing is, this isn’t a new setup or GOTY edition. It is Digital Deluxe that gives you the items, which we already have, so your logic is flawed.

I am also curious about this, and I do not want to jump to any conclusions. However, I have never heard of any company giving greater rewards to newer customers a year after release for something GW1/2 vets bought pre-release. Those of us that bought digital deluxe from the start would love to know if we should have simply waited to get digital deluxe, for much greater rewards.

BG and SoR have a decent amount of roaming squads from what I have seen, therefore you probably want to join JQ. I run with a 2-3 man roam on BG, looking forward to getting rolled by your 5 man organized group

Man… I came back from a 2 month break and WvW is worse (didn’t think it was possible). I was on for 2 hours the other night and saw a guy hack into outer DB. Then I was doing some open field fighting with friends and a thief got downed and started warping around while downed (warped about 8 times to the back of his group), so that was new to me. Oh and I saw in chat that we lost a tower to a group with a hacker in it as well. In 2 hours, seriously, I am not going to point finger at servers or anything because I am sure there are people doing it on BG too.

Just sad to see Anet has not kept up with WvW security to any degree whatsoever. sigh

If you are taking what I am saying as condescending, I am sorry, but I am just trying to state my opinion on things. I have a number of friends with the hair/bank/merch item, none of them were ever disappointed, and knew exactly what they were receiving. And account bound simply means that the item can be used on your account exclusively. Most GW2 players know that as common knowledge. Guess it is just a matter of opinion in the end, I think the description is fine, as it is the same as all other items.

I am all for more information, it certainly can not hurt. I am just saying, even a simple gw2 wiki search or gw2db like you said, would have shown you it is a double click inventory item. So I am curious what research you did?

I had an interesting idea that sprung from a habit of mine since release. I don’t know about anyone else but every time I jump off a ledge or something that I will likely take damage from, I do a dodgeroll as soon as I land pretty much without thinking. It just feels right. If you have every seen any “trickers” or “parkour” videos, or just know about physics in general, you will know dodging out and rolling your momentum instead of a hard fall will make the fall less damaging.

The main idea is that sometimes when I jump off a small ledge and take very minor damage, I should instead be able to roll out of the jump and negate that damage. Or for example, a larger cliff fall with a roll at the end would reduce, but not negate all damage. So I just thought I would run this by and see if people were interested.

To be honest, that is how every other item works in the game. Why would Permanent Bank Access be different? I am sorry things didn’t work out the way you had thought, but I would recommend researching some before buying a 200g+ item.

I honestly do not know why Blackgate server want to ruin their reputation leave T2 with such a bad impression. It has been fun all along, fair play was there until Tarnish Coast joined T2. For some unknown reasons you are helping them out. I know this because I was there when IoJ was there and this never happened.
I do not know enough Tarnish Coast so maybe this is their tactics where ends justify the means but I do know that BG is better than this.
Hopefully you care enough to do the right thing, no more crowbars to the knee cap please.

I don’t lead a large WvW guild so I cant comment on “helping” them, but if I saw a scrap between SoR and TC I would target SoR first! I think TC is a fantastic server… They have a great attitude regardless of what place they come in, and they don’t give up. Don’t get your feelings hurt, it has been a great match-up, give SBI hell.

Kind of like that time about 8 SoR pugs built 2 catas and attacked the greenlake wall that does not take damage for 15 minutes. And our (BG) first match in T1 where we had so many bandwagoner pugs who had no idea, that they would break down outer door to Hills then instead of going to inner door they would take out the other outer door. xD

Not really on anyone’s side here, I play a thief most of the time in WvW. Backstab glass thieves are extremely easy to counter on some classes, other classes it is definitely more of a challenge. Heck thieves are one of the easiest targets for me in game as a thief (I play a more balanced build)! It is like countering something like cookie-cutter HB+Haste+Bullscharge warriors. That being said, the true issue is with culling like others have stated. I do not intentionally abuse culling, but sometimes I notice I am half way through a haste burst and my target hasn’t even rolled yet. It feels almost like cheating.

I use D/D in 1v1 fights sure, but in groups or during a siege or defense it is ALL about the shortbow. They can nerf D/D to complete uselessness and I will still have great use in WvW on my thief. More times than I can remember a downed enemy starts to get ressed by 2 teammates, then its good ol’ Haste + Trick shot spam = 3 downed players.

Not nearly as versatile as the other classes though.

I could not disagree more… They can play high survivability, condi burst, condi outlast, damage burst, team support (Venom share, Stealth res, Shadow Refuge, etc.), separator (Basilisk, Scorpion wire, Surprise shot), oh and they have the most spam-able blast with shortbow in the game. I could go on, but no need.

They can Alt+f4 as soon as they get out of combat (which happens fast some times)… but in this case he probably ‘ported + stealthed somewhere you didn’t see then used the warp back to his spawn.

Ports can also some times still put you inside the ground/boxes/etc. as well (which is where he might have gone). It’s not as common as it was before… but it still can happen. On my guardian this week I used JI on a frog and wound up trapped by teleporting inside my own teams dredge turret… (lol)

We’re allergic to the plush. It causes us to swell up on contact. It’s not funny man.

I can assure you he didn’t warp + stealth (even if he did it only lasts 3s max if traited) as I stated it was an open area and i’m well aware of what thieves can do. I suppose it is possible he warped through the ground, no matter how you look at it he came back from his spawn so he didn’t just “get away”. Oh yeah, the Dolyak he was attacking was killed before I downed him, so no rally.
