I am more worried about the fact that the druid will only be in one BWE. The chance for it to be broken for weeks is very high.
GS auto is embarrassingly weak. I love the animations and everything else about the GS to be honest, but the auto compared to other melee GS classes is poor. Does anyone else think that a buff to the damage would improve this weapon set immensely?
It was very good in the BWE 1 and 2. Then Anet nerfed the GS auto attack by 50%, because it was synerging too well with the old quickening zephyr and the first version of rampage as one. Then, they changed quickness and RoA and kept GS#1 in the pits of hell.
Anet want us to test all of the revenant’s specs during the next BWE.
You are beta testing. Send beta testing and bug reports to Anet.
I really agree with you for the pet attack range. They really need a small leap attack on their auto attacks.
Time to make a Superior Rune of Mercy / Allies aid spvp build to troll people.
It’s working perfectly fine., Now the real question is: With Microsoft pushing as many people as possible toward Windows 10 for easier, merged support, will Anet follow suite and give a DX12 option for the game.
@Aomine.5012
Like I said in the OP, if ranger is underpowered then buff areas other than this trait. This specific trait is one that is indisputably overpowered and deserves a nerf.
If you have suggestions for how to buff ranger in other areas, I suggest you create a thread about it.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Earthshaker
2s HARD CC, 7 sec CD (when traited), 5 targets, 600 range, 240 radius, blast finisher, high damage, cleanse 3 conditions (when traited)
How come I didn’t see you complain about this, a way stronger and more spammable CC than ranger’s taunt?
Oh, I know the reason, because it is ranger! You guys expect ranger to be trash tier and should never be able to be competitive.
Seriously, you are the one who should come up with the ideas of compensation for nerfing taunt. Otherwise it’s just plain nerf and no compensation on an already under-powered class.
To Euro:
I agree taunt should be unblockable too since Fear is unblockable as well.
Don’t you know? Rangers cannot have nice things.
I just tried traps in spvp. They are really good when fighting on point. Throw in some spike trap, then bonfire + flame trap.
Beastly Warden is good on a pet that doesn’t have a CC skill for F2, like hawks / snowy owls. In fact, the snowy owl might be the best Beastly Warden pet due to the fact that it applies chill.

Mircrosoft is pushing Windows 10 as hard as possible, by giving a free update for Windows 7 and 8 computers. So yeah, DX12 is the future.
The only two bad things:
*Burning is too strong.
*Quickness as a stackable boon
I like it. It is the first time conditions seems to work in PVE. Spvp is another thing. There is a ton of condition cleanse and the game become which of you will pop up his cleanse before the other.
Traps are strong for PvP and defending a spot? Try that with a xp thief in WvW. They will give you a nice bow at the end.
Most people talking in this thread are talking about spvp, not WvW.
Traps are really strong, now. Being able to throw them would be OP.
The whole Beastmastery spec line seems to be quite good, too. Especially stuff like Go for the Eyes, Wilting Strike, Beastly Warden.
It is almost like these traits are asking for the use for a pet with a low recharge F2 (birds? ) or drakehound to bring alongside the wolf in spvp.
Regular version at $50 without any character slot for the new class is an insult to any GW1 veterans, who bought expansions with two new classes, two character slots, entire new continents, hundred of new skills, dozen of new elite skills, dozens of new armor skin (not in the cash shop) etc for $45. In fact, we do not even know if HoT warrant it’s $50, no character slot price tag, compared to the older games.
We do not know how many maps we are getting, we do not know how many new skills we are getting, we do not know if we are getting any new dungeons etc. That’s why i might not preorder it now. Too few information for an expansion that is sold at the same price as the base game was 3 years ago.
(edited by Lévis.5489)
No it is not, compared to Factions and Nightfall.
Which gave players:
*2 new classes, each
*Two more character slots each
*Hundreds of new skills
*Dozen of new elite skills
*Three new elite areas
*30+ story missions the two games combined
*Two dozens of new zones to explore
For a $45 price per games.

Be happy that you aren’t paying $$$ every month AND $50 for an expansion. I think $50 is a reasonable price and is in no way greedy.
Nuff said
It is not the $50 price that’s not passing. It is the fact that they are boosting the price by giving you a new copies of the base GW2 game(which most vets will never use) without giving you an option to buy Heart of thorns only.
Also, $50 is steep for what we are getting, compared to what we got for Factions and Nightfall. (Two new classes, hundreds of new skills, dozen of new elite skills, two new entire continents, new elite areas, two character slots, more than one new pvp mode, 30+ story missions with the two games combined etc, for $45 each

Can someone explain to me why the standard edition of HoT isn’t coming with a character slot if we are getting a new class?
Because they are trying to push you toward the $75 option. They could easily sell a version with no core game + heart of thorns and one character slot for $40-$45 but they won’t do it because money.

So, i have to buy the game again to get Heart of Thorns, without any character slot?. For kitten premium price?
It is obvious they are trying to channel people toward the deluxe or ultimate versions.
Why cannot they do simple things, like reveal all the existing classes elite specs before going fo the new class at the end, instead of being all over the place with their reveals.
It is depressing, because Verdant Brink is the site of the Pact’s annihilation. So many people died that day.
The dps is low because all characters in the demo were using Celestial Gear with Dolyak Runes.
If you really want to use longbow / greatsword, i’d use the Survival of the Fittest version of the Read the Wind Power Ranger spvp meta build. Or the Axe/Dagger, shortbow Condition Survival build. Both have Survival of the Fittest, which have to be one of the best trait rangers have at the moment.
Specs would have been better than LA and the fact that the Heart of Thorns preorder text is already in the game’s .dat
If you are swapping out the mobo, check for Asus Z97-Pro (AC version if it is your thing), Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H (pricier), or a MSI Z97 GAMING 5.
Guild Wars 2 is very unoptimized for AMD CPUs. Avoid them like the plague.
The build with the CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-4690 3.50 GHz is better, despite the very meh motherboard and the GTX 960, which is fine for 1080p, but it’s 128bits memory bus and 2GB memory are not take good for resolutions above of it. (Nvidia kitten it so that they can release an unkitten GTX960ti when AMD will release their new cards.)
FX 8370 have a very horrible single core performance and the GTX 960 is a kitten card with it’s 2 gigs of Vram and 128bits bus. No wonder why the game is running horribly.
True Shot. I don’t think it’s fair to compare it with Maul. Compare it with Rapid Fire. I much rather have Rapid Fire.
People compare it with Maul since Maul and True Shot have almost the same damage, the same recharge and the same activation time. But True Shot is 1,200 range and pierces.
A ranger is someone that does exploration.
verb (used with object), ranged, ranging.
*To pass over or through (an area or region) in all directions, as in exploring or searching:
*They ranged the entire countryside.
When it is ready™
Maybe ele are getting banners akin GW1 wards that pulse an elemental field for X seconds while buffing allies standing into it.
If i remember from the Ready Up Core Specializations video, they said something about making ranger traps a little bit more powerful, but with a small wind up / charge time when you lay the trap.
Do not forget the traps with the really long reveal, instant 25 vuln stacks, the Jesus Beam trap and the nice elite trap. Also, ticking 4,3k damage per seconds with burning,
I still have nightmares about naked rangers killing the same mobs over and over in Frostgorge and the train of guardian bots farming a certain spot in Cursed Shores.
What about taunt + immobilized. Taunt will surely act like a cover condition.
The solution would be to have unranked, ranked teamq and ranked soloq, but I doubt that will happen.
+Unranked
+Ranked team
+Ranked soloRemove Hotjoin
Keep customs
All problems solved.
That makes too much sense.
This change need to be applied to pve for most environment items.
I just finished creating a spreadsheet with all the Ranger Weapon Skills in it … and looking at the DPS I can’t help but notice Path of Scars. Even if it just hits once instead of the twice that is more common (especially when your target is immob’d), its DPS is quite high. Maul is the next closest but much more telegraphed and restricted to melee range. In addition, Path of Scars does have a pull which can interrupt as well as mess with positioning.
When it comes to flanking with the shortbow, I did find that immobilize and fear were my friend. You only need to get about 60 degrees or so to the side of your target to count as flanking for the purposes of shortbow autos. Immobilize and Fear remove your opponent’s control over their facing … fear usually turning your opponent’s flank to you.
It surprise me i never saw a ranger in spvp using sword x axe in their power ranger build.
They only need to change back the changes they made with silk scraps, when silk scraps were 3 coppers each.
2 silk scrap for one silk cloth , instead of 3 silk scraps for one silk cloth.
And 50 silk cloths for one ascended silk, instead of 100 silk cloths.
They can catch new players easily with these kind of scams. That is why you see them spamming these after each sales.
Legendary weapons will no longer be legendary
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Lévis.5489
The legendary weapons lost their legendary status as soon as they got available for sell on the TP.
The thing is that silk is stuck in the past. Anet wanted to removed the huge quantity of silk scraps in circulation, so they raised the number of scraps needed for one bolt from 2 to 3 scraps. It is the same reason why you need 100 silk bolts for a silk weave when all the other mats need 50. It is the also the reason why you need 4 soft wood logs to make one soft wood plank. It was needed when everyone was low level and million of soft wood logs were floating around.
The best way for sexy charrs is o press the change characters button and choose a human / norn female.
What Microsoft is trying to do with Windows 10 being “free” for legit and pirated users of windows 7, 8 and 8,1 is to get the most people possible on the same step, so that things like Guild Wars 2 being single threaded and DX9 for maximum compatibility across 4 Windows versions does not happen anymore. They will most likely find a way to monetize via their app store. Keep in mind that Microsoft makes more money selling MS office than selling MS Windows.
Good. Confusion always felt like the poor men’s Guild Wars 1 Spiteful Spirit.
You guys are aware that most of the games that have DirectX 10-11 support also support DirextX 9, right? And that people on Windows 7 and 8 will be able to upgrade towWindows 10 (which have DirectX 12) for free during the first year after Win 10 release?

It took them 2 years to get this engine running properly and assure maximum compatibility with a wide variety of computers due to the Dx9 engine.
Your super-duper card will continue to be as useless as all “next gen” graphics cards are before actual games are released for it.
Thus a big waste of money. Congrats.
His “Super Duper” card might be an AMD R9 280x, 290 or 290x, all of them support DirectX 12. They range from $200 to $300 / 350 and can play most PC games with constant 60fps @ 1080p. Hardly a waste of money.
This thing costs 60$, and there’s no refund – but I think: hey, how bad can it be – it’s from the guys that made Skyrim
That’s your problem right there. ESO wasn’t made by Bethesda, but by ZeniMax Online Studios, a studio opened by Zenimax, Bethesda’s mother company, just to make ESO. Bethesda only published it.
