a squishy greatsword wielder ….what am I missing here?
No need for a trait to use signets, anymore, maul hitting 5 targets instead of 3, and 10% damage increase on the third attack o the auto attack. Still far from putting a bandaids on the wounds that happened when Anet nerfed the GS’s auto attack by 50% during the BWEs.
Survival of the fittest with the new entangle and expertise training doesn’t sound that bad. And the fact that the BM traits are not linked to a certain pet family is actually quite good, same with the removal of signet of the beastmaster.
I think the best looking Guild Wars 2 swords are Bonetti’s Rapier and Honor of Humanity / Firebringer, since they are based on real life swords.
Anet writers ignoring their own game’s lore again. You need Sohothin, Magdaer and a descendant of Doric to break the curse.
People criticizing a game show that there are still people caring about said game. Be very worry if there is no one left to criticize.
I think it is faster selling all your T6 and Ectos and buying the legendary off the TP than getting a precursor.
Because Sylvari are getting pushed down your throat from every corner of the main story and the living stories.
Destiny’s Orphans need their token Sylvari.
Anet have been doing that kind of cheap writing tricks since the original personal story., and it have nothing to do with the character being female or not.
*Introduce new character
*Make him / her stand out for 1-2 missions
*Kill them off for cheap emotional shock
I would gladly pay for a Guild Wars 1 like expansion, that add new dungeons with tokens, weapons and armors linked to them, more than 1 skill per two years, new zones, new world boss and a complete new story.
The ranger’s class mechanic shows how bad it is once again.
It’s always the Sylvari engineers that are going crazy.
Cleaving is not the only thing necros lack, they also lack easy of use blast finisher and no combo fields that people judge useful, like water and fire fields.
I’d make launch, fear, knockdown, daze/stun cause revealed. Everything needs a hard counter. Stealth have so few of them.
Entangle is a piece of poo poo.
Ranger is the only profession that can have it’s class mechanic disabled for 60 seconds, losing 30% of your total dps in the progress. Pets will be useless in high end pve and WvW as long as they continue tanking hits with their face.
We need Rainbow Phoenix / Imperial Phoenix, Hound of Balthazar (GW1 have this type of pet), giant rats, crabs, lions, jingle moa / bear. All present in Guild Wars 1 and no where to be seen in Guild Wars 2.
Anet really need to make an universal world boss token system. (Tequila, Wurms, all the Priests) And let the players chose their rewards, instead of relying on the much hated RNG.
Best way to get on gold server is passing by TTS’ teamspeak and ask for a taxi. It’s free.
Why not using God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals? Still better than 99.9% of the GWII titles.
I like it. It reminds me of some of the Guild Wars Factions armors.
Remember during the first BWE, pve mobs had the same fleeing from AOE like they had in Guild Wars 1.
I wonder why they removed it. Maybe something’s borked in their AI system. Pets being linked to mob AI and pathing doesn’t help, too.
The whole S2 season is too long.
I usually don’t actually care about loot but…I mean wow. I fear Crown Pavilion is going to be empty tomorrow with no hope of anyone completing the event.
The mechanics of the bosses are pretty cool, and I love a challenge but holly potato muffins they are loooooonnnggg. So much hp. And then to get a couple blues and a green in the end…well, I just hope this is a bug.
They are total chumps if they are not juiced up by too many players trying to kill them. The pavilion’s bosses are supposed to be done with a group at each of them, and no more than 10-15 persons per bosses.
The thing is. The pavilion is now anti zerg, and need coordination, like the marionette, wurms, LA citizens rescue, taking back LA etc.
That’s why most people will receive kitten, bronze tier reward. Because the stacking and zerging mentality exist.
Most classes have 25% faster movement speed signets. Most classes can also have perma swiftness, which gives 33% faster movement. Both of these + waypoints remove the need for mounts, unless you want kitten mounts.

AP mesuring skill is as reliable as grouping with people wearing black obsidian armor with chaos gloves.
Healing suffers the same syndrome than condition damage. It’s it meh in PVe, but become god tier in PVP. It have to be a nightmare to balance.
All the dungeons added to the game were non permanent ones.
Imagine:
Permanent Molten Facility with three paths and giving off Molten Facility tokens for fuse weapons.
Permanent Aetherblade Dungeon with three paths, giving off Aetherblade Dungeon tokens for aether weaponry and armor.
But no, we cannot have nice things as long as the cash shop exist as it is.
Personally I do have a ranger, and yes I have played it in WvW, the good point is that they can reach most anything on a wall for coverage purposes. But overall the Ranger needs to be re-worked to better take advantage of the Ranger roll. since the patch it seems to me that the ranger traits have become more spread out that can be effectively used to build a strong character. When I think of ranger I think of range, therefore the use of bows, and guns. Not greatswords like every other class in the game. If you’re not using a GS you’re not putting out Max damage. As mentioned above piercing should be a natural for rangers, as well as velocity, and just maybe the skills to be close to using ice bows, since bows are our trademark, thats where the power should be.
I find it ironic that everyone assumes dangers should use bows, when Rangers in fiction and reality never used bows.
Did you ever see Aragorn use a bow?
He used a short bow in the Mines of Moira. Funny how Anet called the rangers the “unparalleled archers”, then nerfed short bow to the ground and long bow is still meh after all these years.
Some previews and maybe some sign of life would be nice. But, i don’t expect anything until the Chinese release and the end of the WvW season.
You might try dire armor set with settler’s or apoth trickets if you are into roaming.
Most people complain about abyssmal rewards in most parts of the game, and you want EotM rewards nerfed. Why?
I see that op never played Rappelz, Flyyf, ROSE Online, Perfect World Online, Lineage 2 and any other Korea Grinders.
These make Guild Wars 2 look like a non grinding game.
All the complains with the megaservers could be fix with Guild Wars 1 style districts. Make it guild specific district, megaserver district and a district for the server you are on.
Overgrowth will always win, since BG is green and losing very hard in a 2vs1. So, best place to get badges and WvW ranks for them right now is to zerg EotM.
Also, ranger during the first year was horrible. I started in december ’12…. rangers back then, besides quickness from a minor trait and epic attack speed and hard hitting cats. They were horrible….
The amount rangers has progressed from back then (if not using ranged) is enormous. However, the buffs has come so slowly, and been met with such lukewarm reception that i honestly think not many has noticed anything at all. Especially thanks to all the glasscannon LB rangers running around…You must have not been running some crap build back then. Pets could climb walls, pet damage was significantly higher for certain pets (looking at you jag), perma-quickness was accessible on a minor trait (which was 100% faster attacks at the time), DPS on the SB was MUCH better, range on the SB was much better, pets could take infinite conditions from a ranger (and those conditions wouldn’t apply to the pet), permanent swiftness was possible, pet range was crazy high, all ranged attacks fired backwards, minor trait gave 50% energy recovery, on and on.
The simple fact a ranger could send their pets to kill siege was awesome. Even better to send the stealth jag that would pop and one shot a staff ele on the wall. Back then the ranger could maintain near permanent quickness, dodging, protection, speed in addition to the other items I have noted.
The Ranger has effectively seen one nerf after the next with very few improvements along the way. Most rangers in game today don’t know what they missed out on.
I really like how rangers are getting most of the nerfs.
*Shortbow attack speed nerfed, attack distance nerfed,
*Pets damage nerfed by 50% without giving some of the attack directly back to the ranger,
*No more sniping people on walls,
*Greatsword #1 nerf to the ground with 50% damage decrease during the BWEs, *Quickness minor becoming a BM 30 trait,
*Pets not scaling at all with the ranger’s equipment,
*Pets dying in aoe in 1 seconds, dead pets with 60 seconds disable,
*If your pets are dead, you lose about 30% of your dps, no other professions have their class specific mechanics working against them,
*Traits all over the place, some traits need to be combined,
*Minor trait now giving 25% stamina recovery instead of 50%, on a class that need to evade most damage. Thieves have the same problem, but they have stealth to counter it,
*Shoehorned into one role in dungeons
*Shoehorned into one role in WvW
*Hated by everyone because of bearbow
People were saying the game / zones were dead before megaservers. And now you people say they are too alive. Make up your mind.

Apothecary is the bog standard bunker build for Rangers in WvW. Ranger has three regeneration sources (Shouts, Troll Urguent, and Signet) and many abilities that cause conditions (Fire trap can have a 6/12 duration/cooldown) although it shoehorns you into using Shortbow, Sword/Dagger or Axe/Torch.
Sword/Torch and Axe/Dagger are actually better. Never put all your evades in the same basket. WvW ranger roaming is fun with apoth or settler’s stuff.
Megaservers are not online for higher level zones. The reasons why there are a lot of people running around Cursed Shore nowadays is because people are trying to unlock their new traits.
Why not running around cursed shore, where most events actually spawn several champions when there are a lot of people around, and you can do the cursed shore champ circuit while waiting for more events.
Axe/Dagger + Sword/torch is actually better than sword/dagger. Don’t throw all your evades in the same basket.
I like how my Firebringer became some Berserker’s Pearl Broadsword. Fun times.
It’s funny, since the silver rewards from event completions was already abyssmal. It’s not even worth the time to stop and do events.
You have to talk to a BLC armor guy that i don,t even know where he is.
It’s actually an interesting idea that could be implemented via a pvp mode, for all the carebears that are scared of getting ganked.
I just hope they won’t go the lazy way to turn it back at what it was before with missing npcs. Maybe we will see an LA with airships and actual defenses for once.
Orr was supposed to be the end it all end game zone. But people prefer grinding Queensdale, Frostgorge, EotM zergs and dungeons because they actually give money.
All the timer events nerf, loot nerf, implementation of DR, the death of the Plinx event chain, champs such as rise spider champs spawning little veteran spiderlings that gives no loot and exp, champ chicken smashing you in the face with 30k+ damage etc killed the entire zone population.

Right now, MF doesn’t affect loot boxes and world boss chests. It only affect random loot. The best use of high MF is to farm T6 mats directly from mobs.
