Anthony Ordon said they want people to farm, yet nerfed all the cursed shore events to hell.
Plinx? Nerfed to death.
Events that have champion wraiths appearing like Priest of Grenth part 3 ? GG , try later.
Events that have champion spiders spawning lootless , veteran level spiderlings? Have fun killing all of them 15 minutes after an events.
There is a reason why T6 dust prices are skyrocketing for for the last two months or so.
Also, the laughable gold rewards + drops for lvl 80 events cannot match CoF 1 farming . It’s that pathetic.

Suddenly, people buying ton of T5 dust to try their chance at the mystic toilet
I hope they have better luck than me. Most of the time, I ended up with a loss, meaning, I would have been better off using the monies I received from selling my T5 dust, and using it to purchase the equivalent worth of T6.
Seems like the breaking point for profit is around 17 dust.
Suddenly, people buying ton of T5 dust to try their chance at the mystic toilet
A lot of ranger bunker builds have stats like these (apothecary) Good to see that they are selling them for such low prices . And the small difference between settler cloths and apoth. is that apoth is healing / tough / condi and settler is tough / healing /condi

ArenaNet doesn’t directly get money you spend. NCSoft/Nexon does.
Yes, they actually do. It’s already been stated by them that items bought from the Black Lion Trading Post supports them.
That’s not how it work. NCsoft take the money from all the cash shop sales, then give a certain percentage back as salary. With the rest, they can either give more funding toAnet for more events or give money to other NcSoft MMOs devs .
Arena Net still ignoring this thread, as usual they don’t care about their fan base.
Blizzard listened to their fans and ended up turning WoW into a piece of crap.
It was a piece of crap since Cataclysm, anyway.
A lot less excited about it because i thought it would be the good old Dragon Festival.
Rangers need a lot of help. Traps in Skirmishing instead of Wilderness Survival . Pet traits all over the place etc .
UW and FoW as lvl 80 zones for alternative mean to get obsidian shards and ectos.
It’s almost like Anet don’t want anyone to play ranger anymore.
The T6 dust prices exploded when Anet banned ton of bots + change the loot system of the risen mobs, so they give other T6 mats than only T6 bone and dust.
In before they add new armors via BLK Chests , since people buy these in drove.
Make it easier to tell when there are billions of people smacking mobs around during events.
Also, red ring of death? I prefer red bubbles of death.
This armor is totally out of the game. The only person wearing some of it is Countess Anise . (She’s wearing the chest and possibly the boots part)
Here’s the sales from the NCsoft May 10th earning call . As you can see, GW 2 is almost making the same amount of money than Aion, Lineage 2 and Blade & Soul reunited .
But way less than Lineage, a game that’s been release in 1998… You are trying to show this picture and tell us that gw2 is doing well… i have no words…
I know, it’s really disheartening and worrying. I’m thinking if they changed the RNG GW2 may be their best seller, but I can’t say for sure.
Lineage is South Korea’s WoW. It’s a game that have a cult following. Being second to the god of Korean MMOs is good.
Here’s the sales from the NCsoft May 10th earning call . As you can see, GW 2 is almost making the same amount of money than Aion, Lineage 2 and Blade & Soul reunited .
The chances of getting that armor outside of RNG / Cash Shop / At All is close to 0%
It’s “of the knight”
Welcome to the “New and Improved” Cursed Shore, where all events are now filled with either 30k damage egg trowing chickens, 1,200 range life steal champion wraiths that make some events impossible to complete (Looking at you, third part of the Priest of Grenth event) and champion spiders and their veteran hatcheling that give no exp, loot / whatever that are not worth the time to kill .
The most legendary legendary is not even a legendary. How many people have you ever seen with a Wings of Dwayna?
We killed the Champion Wraith at Shelter’s on Desolation tonight. It is actually quite easy, and just requires players to listen and follow some basic tactics:
1) When he is in the air casting health leach, don’t go anywhere near him. Go completely out of range and stay there. He doesn’t move while casting, so if no-one goes near him, he can’t gain any health or kill anyone.
2) When he lands again, move in and attack him.
3) Rinse and repeat.
Took a while for people to pay attention to these tactics and to learn not to run in like an idiot while he was casting. Once people started to pay attention, he died quite easily. Having someone call when to move in/out seemed to help.
It doesn’t help at all for the one during the Defend Jonez Event, since Jonez stay there to die in 10 seconds.
Also, all of this is a proof Guild Wars 2 need a testing / beta server .
The consortium showing off their vilainy at last.
Guild Wars 1 heroes do exactly the same thing. One of the easiest way to cap the shrines in the Gate of Madness was sending heroes capping them since they don’t draw aggro when they are outside of the radar range / outside of you character’s aggro bubble
100% of 0.1% of drop is 0.2% . That is why MF is kitten.
Enjoy the ride!
I will actually start to enjoy it when you stop trying to invoke gambling reflex garbage because you are unregulated like a casino is with it. I’d also enjoy it more if you gave me a better way such as MORE BANK TABS so I actually store all these amazing items. How about a way to swap between skins on a single item at the LEAST so all the custom stuff you talk about will be fun instead of pain management as you constantly love something you like to try out something else.
Do not get me wrong I love the content but come on. Work with me.
Your coming off as if you just want to be given things.
I don’t get the feeling that the world is changing, instead i get stagnation of the current world. If you really wanted persistence, of an evolving world, then you wouldn’t waste time on temporary instances/dungeons, and instead, you should develop:
newer dragon bosses
newer dynamic events
newer heart tasks
newer mobs to fight
newer crafting professions
newer skills
newer races
newer guild activities
etc.A feeling of, character & world progression, is needed.
Flame & Frost was fun. Flame & Frost was just too long, and it spanned over several months, while Southsun Cove has stagnated and feels abandoned.
Just leave the temporary content to special events & holidays, which can be re-used over the years, but to completely develop a whole storyline, characters, dungeons, etc., only to remove it, is just a waste of resources and time, and it gives off that feeling that more important content (the list above) is being ignored.
Why would you only want from that list to be the only way to changes the world it sounds like that what YOU want added in and not the community. They have added in new mob types new skins new events new dungeons new zones new boss fights new consumable items new story new main line heroes so ya the world is changing but your doing your best to turn a blind eye to it.
Except that all those new mob types new skins new events new dungeons new zones new boss fights new consumable items are disappearing from the game in 10 days.
Most i’ve hit was around 6k on some risen mob, without might stacks
This thread remind me of all the QQ that happened during the great Elementalist Holocaust of November 11th 2005 , when the mobs started running out of aoe nukes.
I was still playing Guild Wars 1 at that time. I thought that was an excellent change to the game because followed the golden rule: don’t nerf what you can counter.
Elementalists are already one of the weakest classes. This is why people run bunker builds in the first place… they can’t survive any other way. The class needs to be strengthened, and bunker play needs to be discouraged by counters like boon hate.
Instead, ArenaNet has decided to just destroy every ability the elementalists have to sustain themselves.
Boon hate is coming . What they need is to strenghten unused utility skills and traits. So, welcome to the Ranger and Engineer land . been there since august 2012 .
The card game Magic: the Gathering was first published in 1993. People have been claiming the game is dying for 20 years. The folks at Wizards of the Coast laugh about it every time they cash their paychecks.
These threads are meaningless rumormongering.
Terrible example.
It,s not a terrible exemple . Each time WotC release a new block , fans of the game say that the sky is falling and the game is dying, for 20 years straight .
This thread remind me of all the QQ that happened during the great Elementalist Holocaust of November 11th 2005 , when the mobs started running out of aoe nukes.
If it goes to DX11, I’ll probably have to stop playing rather than just be taking a break. Frankly, I can’t afford a new computer right now and that’s what it’d take for me to get something in motion to be able to run DX11.
Mostly because I’d have to buy a newer version of Windows, which would then require more upgrades (which I can’t do) . . .
I would like to choose to stop playing GW2, thank you, rather than be forced to quit due to tech specs.
DirectX 11 support =/= Game only playing on DirectX 11 . Most Dx11 games also have a Dx9 mode .
ITT . Thinly veiled bragging thread with no substance.
1) Overhauling signets completely. Redesign them to synergize with eachother and make sure that the passive and active work well together. The new signet system should involve long cooldowns with actives that are worth using. No lost passive effects when you activate the signet.
They’re already doing the synergy between Signets. Look at the following traits:
- Inscribed Removal
- Deep Strike
- Beastmaster’s Might
- Signet Use
- Signets of Power
- Fire’s Embrace
- Blurred Inscriptions
- Cleansing Inscriptions
- Signet Power
That is in fact most of the Signet traits. And each of them gives a benefit that is directly tied to how many Signets you have. However, that system is very fragile. Make the bonuses too strong and you end up with 5 signet characters, like the 5 signet warriors. Make them too weak and no one will care enough to use them.
Also, I think that the current system is good enough, they just need to balance the effects. For example, pretty much no one who uses a +25% movement speed signet uses the active effect. On the flip side, you never catch a Warrior with the Signet of Rage passive effect.
2) Give Engineers signets as well. Noone would complain about the added equality.
You’re wrong there. You would have a few choices if you did that:
- Remove 1 existing Engineer utility per new signet
- Add 1 new skill to every other class per new signet for Engineer
- Let Engineers end up as the only class with more utilities than the rest
- The first would result in an outrage by anyone playing an Engineer.
- The second would result in an outrage if the new skills were not good enough or they were in a family that wasn’t deemed useful. For example, not giving Warriors a new Stance or Shout.
- The third would result in an outrage by everyone who is not an Engineer
Poor rangers and their “Grants 1 stack of might for 5 seconds.” piece of kitten trait.
And again do not compare MMO and SP games. CPU/GFX throughput is all that’s needed for SP games, MMOs have to deal with network latency (data is calculated/processed on server not in local and needs to be transferred), 100x more players on screen, ….
Then, what about Total Wars games that you play online?
2-3k troops on each side , CPU, GPU and Network Latency all in one . 60 + fps is a norm.
For people with Radeon GPU, AMD just released it’s 13.4 catalyst drivers with some optimization for Guild Wars 2 .
Also, , “high resolution textures” and shaders are the things that eat the most FPS. I have the game running at 20 fps while in LA when i have both on and 50-60 fps when they are at off.
Also, the game is in dire need for DX11 . Having a PC ONLY game released in 2012 without DX11 support is a disgrace .
Just look at the steam survey. 49% of the steam players have DX11 GPU and 32% have DX10 ones

It’s funny how you do more dps with 20/20/0/0/30 due to pets not sucking arses in general PVE.
Can’t wait for ESO.
Too bad judging by the 25 minutes leaked footage that game is heading toward a SW:TOR leveling of disaster.
Legendary bows look bad compared to craftable bows like Aether / Azureflame , Wings of Dwayna and Wintersbark / Wintersbite
I am sad the nearest thing we have of an Asian/Canthan theme are those new guild banners . They look like Sashimono .
I hate DR with passion. I don’t see ranger bot trains anymore (replaced with teleporting gathering bots) and yet, the DR is still there, punishing human players. Best way to make money right now is grinding P1 of CoF. Might as well always doing it, before Anet also nerf it.
I do wonder how many keys ANet sells each day though. People are still buying BLCs, so they must be consumed somehow.
Generally speaking, the kind of people who spend major cash trying to get the RNG skins and items from the chests are not people who come here to talk about it. Suffice it to say that based on real-world lottery ticket sales, a relatively small number of people spend a huge amount of money on them. Enough that Anet is not going to motivated to hand out more keys for free than they already do.
As an aside, because it made me think of it. I once downloaded and played a real Pay to Win game on my iPhone because it got good reviews.
I never spent money on the game and didn’t play for long, but during my time playing, there was a person who you could mathematically determine spent at least $2,000 at a very minimum to achieve they things they did.
Needless to say, most people were shocked and appalled and it made me realize that people will pay stupid amounts of money for fairly dumb reasons.
Well, there is that one Chinese MMO called Perfect World, where you can get two Cash Shop only pets that are the two best pets for the pet class in the game. You needed 9999 items to get them and you had to buy boxes on the cash shop that was giving 10 to 50 of the items needed randomly .
They are wortless and should not be blue rarity. Something is telling me they are linked to MF, since i get more of these useless chests (i have 500 + of them) when i use MF gear.
Its current state is truly pathetic.
It has the potential to be awesome, and they just let that potential continually go to waste.
The story of the game.
Remember in Guild Wars 1, when you needed gems to get an armbrace of truth to choose the torment skin you wanted , thus, reducing the grind to a minimum?
Anet doesn’t .
If you want hardcore, high level fractals and WvW.
High level fractals have nothing on DoA or any hardcore zones from Guild Wars 1, that you need specific builds to beat them easily.
I want to see someone with Chauncey Von Snuffles III.
Ask and you shall receive.
Now, that is one classy cat.
The Tyrian human population is getting better.
Compare the beginning of the game (Corruption, Centaurs at the door of DR) to after level 40 + (Corruption dealt with, centaurs pushed back to their homeland, with their warlords killed) .
Old Anet cashshop :
-Costumes linked to events.
-Those events had new skins, greens and minis available as drops + via tokens earned in the game.New, Nexon lite cash shop:
-Costumes linked to events
-Those events have little to no rewards (Karkas event) .
-Have to gamble in the cash shop for a new weapon skin token reward (Good boys , buying 50 + keys)
-If skins are craftable , you need a mystic forge recipe that is on par with foefire’s essence mystic forge recipe
-Free weapons are skins no one want (Wintersday weapons)I don’t know about you, but I got a lot of stuff out of the Karka event, including a precusor, The Hunter. A lot of people did get precursors and named exotics and other stuff out of that. And an exotic earring and a 20 slot bag.
I’m not sure what you wanted, but a lot of people loved the rewards from that event. Mind you the event itself sucked, but that’s a different story.
So, it all return to RNG, yet again.
