All mf gear does is make a player in a dungeon group less useful.
I agree, but don’t blame MF. Blame the user!
I have one MF set for Solo playing and farming, and some others for dungeons. It’s a matter of better judgment!
To be fair, i am not a Shortbow user, but i disliked the Dreamer because it was dull. Raibows and unicorns made it worse.
But now, i find it quite amusing, and for the looks of the precursor price increase, people too. I am already laughing just thinking someone will say “I’ve got owned by a freaking unicorn” or “that thief unicorned me to death” … It’s indeed legendary
It’s only 3 times the normal factor for loot “upgrades”.
explain this statement.
Every item has set within a database a loot chance. Magic Find only increases that specific loot chance in the table. Let’s make an example:
- Let’s say that a Specific Rare has a drop chance of 0,1%.
If you wear a magic find set of 100% (double the chance), then that specific rare will increase to 0,2%. It’s still statistically low.
- However, a white weapon , let’s say it has 10% drop chance:
Wearing the magic find set, would make that white weapon go to 20% in the loot table, greatly increasing the chance of dropping.
In conclusion the magic find set, will be less noticeable, the higher the rarity (as in loot chance), of the item!
So you can’t wear a MF set and expect rares and exotics dropping like rain. It will not happen! It’s a usual misconception!
Cheers
I dont want this thread closed, so im not gonna point them out, you’re in pvp scene, you should know there are “alot” of broken mechanics that kids abuse to gain benefits. All of them are reported, only revival ones got fixed in over 2 months. Lets see how long kids gonna run with all boons till it’ll be fixed.
If you present the stated “abused mechanics” with some arguments instead of rage then, why would they close the thread? However they will close the thread faster due to a discussion of non-objective discussion that adds nothing to the subject in hand (that we don’t know off).
So… can you elaborate what do you find abused mechanic and how they compromise your gameplay (with some serious arguments please) ?
Still a brainless class with too much “I messed up” buttons, map control, and team fight presence. Seriously a godly Mesmer will be a trash Warrior or Ranger, that’s just how the skill relation is between the Mesmer and those two other classes are.
Ha, this post sounds like you’re mad. Mesmer requires a great deal of strategy, quick reflexes, and great positional awareness. You have to monitor your health and the the health of three clones/phantasams. You’re squishy as hell so you need to be fast to distortion/clone/dodge or else you fall quickly. It takes a bit more than just sicking a pet on the target and firing away or popping quickness and lunging into combat.
It requires thinking.
^This.
If someone gets to the Mesmer (the real one)… 1 2 3 and it’s dead!
I would reccomend every one to roll on a Mesmer and try it on, and then you will say "ohhh, thats why … "
“History is made One day at a Time”
This observation is quite outrageous in this forums.
We demand everything NOW!!!! /Sarcasm
Great Job A-Net, keep them coming!
I think that allowing for new players to join into fractal is the wrong idea that potentially (in fact it’s already happened) create more harm than good.
What we really need is just allow original members who are DC to be able to re-enter the fractal stage. That’s all.
Allowing someone to get in at the very end of the dungeon and get the same ending rewards is not fair at all to the original members and can lead to further party exploits. Even no-brainer could foresee that problems gonna come.
Now we have problems about kicking member to get someone in at the last stage to get rewards. This proves already in the other existing dungeons, not fractal in the past. Why Anet don’t regcognise this problem? and they move into the same wrong direction that prone to the party exploits and problems.
Also, Why on earth the party kicking system problem has not been addressed yet?
It make NO sense that requiring only 2 vote to kick someone. This cause more harm than good also.
This has nothing to do with Fractals. It might happen also in every other dungeon! It’s always a problematic situation because it means judgment! Although a lot of players kicks with a good reason (like being AFK the entire dungeon) a lot also still do it simply because they can (being mean)! The last is quite an offense and should be reported, although the kicked player may be offended in both situations and report you nevertheless!
Cheers!
So do i suppose to get my shards for my legendary from these boxes or do i get them the old fashioned way?
If your objective is to get Obsidian Shards from karma, go trough the old style. These boxes cost ~4500 Karma and don’t guarantee a 100% Shard. The Temple NPC sells each Shard for ~2000 Karma.

It was something like this:
Previous 28th of Jan:
Community : “Oh no…. drops in Orr sukx big time”
Devs meeting : “Well let’s adjust the drops”
After 28th of Jan:
Community : “Yupiii, the drops are huge”
Devs : “ kitten i shouldn’t have drunk that last jar of beer… i added an extra 0 to the drop rate”
Minor patch to correct the drop rate:
Devs : “Working as intended now”
Community: "RAAAAAGGGGEEEEE !!!! "
ArenaNet developed new horrible way how to deplete players from karma points
Simply go to 80ties zone to and karma vendor and buy recently introduced Orrian Jewelry BoxYou spent more then 42000 karma points for each box
In return you will get
- Unidentifiable Object and
- Drop of Liquid Karma (3x) worth 1200 karma poinsI tested it several times
And bravo Arena
I spent 420 000 karma points
Earned few silver and 12000 karmaBravo , excellent job
42000 Karma for each box? I believe you wrongly added an extra 0 to that price!
~4200 is the price to go and it’s fine!
It was expected and called for!
I don’t see how it was called for. Certainly not when you need 250 of each T6 mat to make a legendary.
In fact, the new orr they had introduced offered a way to gain the mats while gaining XP for bloodstones and trying for mystic clovers.
Now, orr drops are nearly what they were before. I was actually having fun in orr again and now there is almost no reason to go there again.
Is it asking too much to be able to farm for a legendary gift without it being soul-crushingly demoralizing?
If they want to increase the drop rate of all the fine mats? No problem with that. Just do it everywhere else and not only in Orr. Also, the drop rate in this case was so high that players got a hold in so much bags, that in some cases a t6 stack of 250 could be easily reached in a week or two!
Increasing their loot rate is not the option to overcome the legendary demoralizing grind!
It was expected and called for!
Well that’s the good thing about using hard pink dyes. There’s a lot of varieties and they’re cheap. As a man I’m thinking … the more breast cancer awareness, the better.
Sure… I’ll make an effort to believe!
Breast cancer is nothing to joke about …
I’m not saying nothing against Breast Cancer! I think it’s a huge problem also. I was saying that i will believe that the reason that makes you wear pink is exclusively Breast Cancer Awareness! ^^
Sorry but whats role playing? Is that like pretending to be someone?

Does anybody know why the Runes of Divinity became so expensive?
Because the rare drops they are salvaged from have become, well, rare
The other way around wildcode.
The drops they are salvaged increased their price due to the demand of that Rune. Some people believe that’s the best rune ingame, hence the increase in price!
Here is a good start:

Answering to the nº2:
They removed the combo kill daily step due to the unforeseen bug that prevented some players from getting the combo kill even after their use of the combo field/finisher. I agree it’s a great addition and it should be up as soon it’s fixed (at least i hope so).
Wait, your funds are at 3? Isn’t it supposed to be 2, given that laurels were only introduced on 28th PST and only two days have gone by now? :/
Also, laurels for monthly are rewarded starting feb, not for this month as it would be unfair to those who did monthly before the patch.
Today it’s the 3rd day you can get the Laurels:
28th (a few hours before daily reset)
29th
30th
equals 3 (lol as in RWJ xD )
IamALie.8190 is speaking the truth! ^^
Yes you got a preview of tomorrow. You can set it to feb. and check out the monthly too.
wut o.0 ?
This shouldn’t be possible. It should get the date/time from the server and not from the local machine…
I’m wondering if we shoot the Dreamer throughout a Fire combo field, would we get this?
You could try adjusting your clock to GMT or PST and see what happens. Alternatively I think the daily is:
Veteran kills
Events
Crafting
Gathering
DodgingI could be wrong on those though.
But you can/will complete your daily if you do the required things from what I gather even if the tracking on your end is broken.
^I have this daily too.
Is it possible that you have one daily, although appearing other?
I’m sure they intended to be equal to all servers, cause i had the same concern in the release of the games. I agree that sometimes it looks a lot different though.
Thank God this thread came back. I still have the response i wanted to give u in the clipboard:
I’m the OP, and god do I hate fan boys that defend anet just for the sake of being fan boys.
… yada yada yada…
Anyone who frequents high level fractals will agree. Anyone who is a fanboy troll will continue to flame. Bottom line, fractal mechanics RUINED.
No1 being a fanboy nor defending ANet! We are against your elitist crap that is making you sound like a kitten : “How the stupid morons are ruining my fun, QQ”
If you get low level players in your fractals run, than it’s entirely your fault that it happens. Your screening process (like… AR over 9000+ required) was not good. Tell them to show their gear also…
Cheers!
Afaik the timers reset 24h after you have done it. But i could be wrong!
So why are you still here? Not trolling but is a serious question? If I hated a game as much as you hate gw2 I wouldnt bother with it
ok to make this point clear,
this is acutally my leaving-feedbackI quit this game today and actually all people I know left/deinstalled gw2 as well
You missed the fifth point xD.
BB and have fun!
I have stopped playing now for weeks. I came back for the patch and ended up logging off after only an hour. I cant think of a single reason I want to log in for again. Maybe I am burned out on MMOs but maybe I am burned out on gaming companies failing so hard all the time.
This game is a grindfest and a treadmill. Not what I wanted or was told I was going to get. The years I waited for this game too /shakes head.
People often confuse grindfest and treadmill with effort. I can’t see where in the world there is grindfest in this game. You can reach the same goal trough several ways… with a minimal amount of effort (let’s exclude the legendary for the time being).
Care to elucidate on this matter? Or did you think by simply logging in you would be given a full set of exotic gear, ascended accessories, sigils and runes?
Somewhat disappointed with new daylies, although i was excited when i first heard about them. I was expecting them (AN) to be more creative on this part, after all those words about getting ppl out in the world again, giving them incentives to go visit places, explore, blah blah blah. And what we get? Same kitten. Just more of it. Forcing us to spend more time on it. Boring and stupid. Dodge this, revive that, combo kill… jesus. kittening facepalm really, who design such things srsly?
If you actually knew the amount of people that fail to do just that… you would be astonished:
- How many times have you been in a dungeon run and you just said to yourself… “Wtf… don’t that guy know how to dodge?”
- How Many of you actually use combo fields? I heard a few hours ago… “Cool, never knew this can be done” from a level 80 guy in Orr….
- How many of you just says “wtf dude, i was just by your side… why didn’t you revived me?”And to be fair, why do you presume that all the dailies are like this? Afaik, they changed from 28th to 29th. There could be a lot more, a different too. I think it’s they are fairly good to remember some people of the game mechanics!
Forcing you to make them? Boring and stupid? Ok… sure pal!
Because the goal of a game is to educate someone about the mechanics with the daily tasks you have to perform to get better gear. right… The new daily tasks are reflecting EXACTLY what I wrote earlier. They based the decision what new tasks they will implement on the fact that you just can’t do enough stuff in the endgame content and with the game mechanics that will allow you to bring out new fresh stuff for the dailys.
No. The goal of the game is to provide entertainment to biggest amount of that players, than it can, by using the game own mechanics. Daily tasks by repeating (practice) makes the mechanics more easy for those who might be unease with them. This will create a better entertainment for all as people will slowly try to implement those features in the grouped gameplay.
They probably based their decision on the certain that the mechanics are way underused. I don’t believe it’s because the endgame content is not enough to do a fairly amount of fresh things…
Let’s start with the foundations and then build it to the roof!
I went the dumb road…
So i said, well i couldn’t do nothing about them, so after i bought a lot the 250 salvage/picks/axes and sickles, i wasted the final 1300 on a Exotic weapon for my Necromancer. Distraction made me buy a rifle… And i raged with my stupidity!
On topic, it’s fine they remove the keys, but i don’t know why they will take the rest at the end of the month…

Finally a decent not QQ’ing Fractals Thread. Agree on all the arguments here. Don’t forget that newbies don’t know what to do, so just be patience and explain that, instead of being rude!
Cheers!
I disagree mostly.
1) Kicking people was a problem beforehand. Kicking players has been a problem in every dungeon. Thsi has nothing to do with the patch. My advice, don’t run with kitten.
2) What stopped them from doing this before? Also, #1 solves this problem easily.
3) Why does it bother you that someone can get something easier? Does it make you feel less special? Less rewarded? Are you envious? Just some food for thought, if someone get’s the rings through Dailies, and you get the Amulet, then you are 2 months ahead of them, regardless of what they do. Is that special enough?
4) The point of Fractals is to farm Fractal skins, and to enjoy challenging PvE content. Anet made the mistake of making them the only source of Ascended gear. This has been partially rectified with the patch.
5) Do you keep up with the forums? People were crying all the time about having to gather. Complaints were far from uncommon.
6) Why do you feel punished for missing a daily now? Is it because someone else might get the Amulet before you? Just to note, Daily is still mostly doable without going out of the way of your normal routine. If you want a reward, a Laurel, be ready to at least put in a little effort. They are not just going to give you it for free, though that is basically what they are doing.
7) The combo thing was a bug. It’ll be fixed and the pain will be gone. Dodging will naturally accumulate as you play the game, assuming you have the skill that the average lv20 possesses. There is no need to find a mob and dodge it for 10mins. Actually, that’s just ridiculous.
8) I spent 2hrs in Orr. I saw none of this. In any kind of group, the combo achievement will be met within minutes. The only reason it was difficult today was because it was broken.
9) All professions need to dodge at one point or another. If you manage to avoid aggro entirely within a dungeon, then you are a 1500 range Ranger dealing pathetic damage. The crafting literately required 30 seconds. Refining 20 10c mats must have been exhausting. Refer to the end of #6.
^This 10 times
Don’t like the way it’s done? Move along to another game!
hum…. from Red Guard…. I might believe it.
But a Screen Shot would be nice!
I think it is funny to see people that were kicked from dungeons on last boss, because they can’t kill him in 3:30 minutes. I like to see how they defame developers for theirs lack of respect and professional skills. How devs close topics because theirs players base is from stupid kids that can’t assess theirs sense of humor about “when it’s done”
What do you think guys?
He’s saying that when people is doing their instances, they get kicked because of that wretched “New build available. The client will restart in 3:30 minutes”… without any previous warning.
That shows small respect for the player base. If I only have 3 hours to play everyday, i could plan my schedule if i knew what time the game would go updating. Like every other gaming company (that have maintenance and updates scheduled and have them informed to the playerbase).
I don’t mind if they don’t the exact time, but a simple : “Hey would be around 12pm PST”. I would be perfectly fine with that!
Being forced to not be able to get supply in your keeps and towers for 5 whole minutes is really a really bad concept, far worse that the current state, since even a solo player can easily cap a camp and hold everyone trolled for ever.A server should be able to retake their things back no matter what, and if they can bring a zerg to do so only means that zerg cannot be attacking/deffending other objectives on the map.
Are you actually in favor of zergs running around in the map, stomping everything that they pass by in 1 sec? Mind you tell us your server?
Making the camps and bosses completely immune to damage for 5 minutes will only promote griefing and hacking like the orbs used too.I would rather see the buff removed completely and imo that wilol be a far better ideea than what you guys are suggesting.
I fail to see how that would promote griefing and hacking. Care to explain?
Buy a lot of Exotic weapons, throw them into the MF, and then go crazy that it didn’t gave you the precursor. There is your Crazy Gold!
The best investment you can do are seasonal items. You buy them cheap when they are released and they are sold high after some weeks/months have passed.
It’s all about offer and demand.
Lets show an example:
When easier ways of to get precursors appears (like scavenger hunt), we can expect:
- An increase of Globs price;
- An increase in Lodestones price;
- An increase in T6 mats price;
- A decrease of Precursor price;
- …
Items that have high offer like ectos will have a low variability (maybe a increase of 10-20s each), independently of the demand, due to the market adjustments.
Items that have low offer like Precursors and Lodestones, will have higher variability (Precursors can be expected 50-300g or alot more in decrease).
Don’t forget, this is predicting based on the knowledge that what you are buying/selling remains the same for the time period you are doing math. If any of the conditions change somewhere along the time before you make the sell, then you might actually loose money (Like people buying precursors at 100g to sell them at 200g. If more ways of getting precursors are added, they might drop to 50g, making you loose money).
Cheers
There’s no way to know an exact time because there’s no way to know when you found all the bugs and kinks in the patch.
If Anet put a time down and doesn’t meet it people will rage.
If Anet puts the patch out but then have to do maintenance right after people will rage. They’ll release it when they feel it is ready. We also know that it’ll be out within the end of the 28th PST. So just go about your life normally and it’ll be out when it’s out.
If they intend release the update the game on 28th, it should mean that the game is fairly tested and set to release on the last hours of 27th.
So instead of putting a time and don’t meet up, or putting the patch and doing maintenance, why not to deliver the update pronto? It will bring some bugs, and might have some exploits, but that’s how updates work!
The only valid explanation for this behavior, is not to overload the download/Patch server. Every other explanation is huge load of bullkitten. Whatever the reason might be they should have stated the why they didn’t set a deadline.
I don’t know if they will put a price based on Tier, on Population or if they will put the same price for every one. Either way, no1 knows for sure the price!
Only thing we can do is wait
No1 knows yet… Wait for the update.
If you are in Europe you may expect the update early 29th:

Well, when a paid tournament PuG team with 2 Guardians told me to bunker the Mines (I’m a Mesmer)…
Then i killed 4 guys in a row… and i was …. Hum… this kitten can bunk…
Someone has said it before, but why to remove Lyns? Creating BL keys was great if people didn’t abuse it. So… Why not to limit it?
2 keys per week? 1 key per week? 1 per day? Dunno…
RI actually exists to prevent groups on opposing servers from XP farming objectives in WvW, i.e 2 groups of players systematically letting the opposing team stay inside Lord’s room in a keep for example, and flipping it back and forth for massive XP gain. The XP gain on camps however, is so miniscu that IMO it’s not needed.
That’s a legit reason. However, making the Supervisor completely invulnerable with RI active, would solve this issue.
I Agree. Making it completely invulnerable would:
.1 – Efficiently make a stance against Zergs. They would have to wait too.
.2 – Create strategic plays, when people would have a 4 minute window to lure invaders and go somewhere else.
If not scale it’s difficulty accordingly to the amount of players hitting them.
If > 15, full invulnerability.
Cheers
I have a MF armor set with my Mesmer and i do quite Well. Mesmers have good survival with Glass cannon equipment. Using a MF (that is similar, but with a lot less dps) equipment works just fine.
Recommended for solo play, obviously.
Guesting allows you to join another server for the purposes of PvE and sPvP, but not for WvW. So if you mean you want to complete the PvE maps with your friend, you can, but you can’t do the WvW points.
This is valid for the same datacenters! (NA to NA only and EU to EU only).
So Race changes are kinda complicated when you consider each character its own personal storyline, that being said Anet has multiple ways to tackle the issue.
1)Reset the parts of the storyline where its Race Specific
2)Add a new quest having an Asura experiment go wrong causing your race to change
Any thoughts?
(Note this won’t be free but will be a service you can buy in the Gemstore)
It will not happen:
.1 – Almost all story is race specific. Also, you already received rewards from doing them, so unless a full character rollback is made, it’s impossible.
.2 – If there was a way of Changing Race, that would be a good and fun way, where you buy a item to use at that “faulted” machine.
With the fast leveling in GW2, i don’t believe it’s necessary. You can quickly level up another character to the desired level. I Agree that somethings might be lost (like the dyes), but even so, there is no need to turn on a gender switch feature.
Cheers
