but I like kittens. :<
me too, fried with rice!
But veggie pizza is nice too :p
@Vayne – Thanks for the response. To me, balance & fairness are an integral part of Ethics, as imbalance and inequality can often lead to unhealthy consequences for both the game, and more importantly the individuals who play it. So what we choose to prop up/promote/push is of all importance in this regard. Please note, I’m not trying to preach at you lol, but more just noting (like others) that you talk a lot about the game a lot in a positive light, when from where I sit there are more serious issues at play.
@Ballistic – I was actually thinking of GW1 – it chugged along just fine in the beginning without micro-transactions and only started introducing them years down the road, and even then what you could get was minimal & limited. GW2 on the other hand is streamlined for it, and so imo has started to travel a slippery slope because you will find more often than not in todays society that money overrides Ethics, which is not good for anyone as I touched on above.
I should also add that many (probably the majority) of online games started out micro-transaction free, and managed to provide free content and patches. To do this was nothing more than good business practises, it keeps people happy & interested which keeps them active & loyal, while remaining Ethically sound! – It’s a win-win for all… So again I would ask, what has changed so much that this can no longer occur? Thanks for readig : ).
What changes happened that caused the games to become so heavily Micro-Transactions dependent i don’t know. It could be a lot of situations (including the shareholders forcing higher profit margins).
So, we know the gaming business models are fleeing from a subscription based system into a micro-transaction system, where the profits can be way less unless the shop isn’t very well played. It’s all about numbers to who run’s the show. So the real question is : How can a game maintain it’s profit (aka micro-transactions dependency) and in the same time maintain it’s integrity between the players?
If we want to maintain the cash shop free of abusive items (ones that give’s u advantage instead by simply spending money), we need to concede on something. This something is vanity items.
We only seen in the cash shop beauty items, dye packs, minis, services and slots. We haven’t seen (i hope that we don’t) seen any kind of Enhancement/boost that increases a player’s stats just by having them. Just look at other games where a cash-shop exists and compare. More, the game allows you to get them without a single cent spent by putting effort into the game (gold -> gems -> cash shop items).
I honestly don’t get why the majority of the people are complaining, but to be fair i completely agree with Vayne. It’s not that they are milking the cow about the cash shop, but they have to have a profit. Your entertainment it’s their business, not their hobby!
/Cheers
This game was designed to minimize the loot stress that you’ll find in other games. The design is intentional. It doesn’t appeal to griefers, as a rule, because it’s hard to grief her by comparison. It can happen but it’s not easy.
Some design elements that make this my MMO of choice:
1. No tagging. Do you know how many times in WoW I waited for a boss to spawn only to have some guy who came later tag it before I could, so I had to wait for him to spawn again to get my quest reward?
2. Everyone has their own nodes. In Rift I used to use knockbacks to mine nodes while fighting, in fear the guy two feet away was going to steal it from me, even though he saw I was fighting the guy on top of it. Can’t happen here.
3. Everyone gets their own roll on loot tables from mobs, from vets, from champions, from chests. No rolling for stuff, You’re not taking anyone else’s rewards.
4. No one can steal your experience. You all get credit for killing stuff, so it’s not usually a bad thing if someone shows up to help. In fact, running with people, which I do frequently with my guild increases your loot and experience gain, because you take things down faster. Farming in a group, if you do farm (which I seldom do) is amazing in this game.
5. The community is much much nicer than other games. You know that guy you mentioned OP? The one who wanted to help new people. That’s me sometimes in Guild Wars 2, just standing around in an early zone, waiting for the Maw to spawn, or just chilling and offering help to new people. I do it several times a week. To me, it’s all about community.
Welcome back, OP. There really is no game like Guild Wars 2.
I’m starting to be a little concerned. This amount of sanity in Vayne is disturbing… but he’s right!
Great game, more focused on the great aspects of the community. When i heard that this game was introducing individual rewards, quest item and farm nodes i became instantly happy.
Deroy, I disagree with your oppinion.
Levelling in this game is very well balanced when compared to other games. The leveling curve is linear (or almost) where in other games is exponential.
Don’t know what you are doing, but i find the events in lower level areas sufficient for the leveling purpose while exploring what the world have to offer not being neglected. Also there are other ways of leveling (Crafting and WvW).
There are several purposes of leveling. One of those is L2P with the class and feel at the same time the sense of progression.
This entirely linear progression is what’s hurting the game the most.
And it’s starting to look more and more like a treadmill by every month.
This is not what is hurting the game atm. The vast majority of the people actually enjoyed the game while leveling more than they do after they reached the lv cap. There is where the problems start. The lack of content (and competitiveness) to some players after lv80 (aka “End Game”) is driving the people away.
So in the end, the leveling is just fine.
I find amusing how everyone nowadays wants everything in a silver plate without spending a little bit of “effort” into things. Leveling is one of those things. A little effort is required. Deal with it!
/cheers
In the end, the team is correcting some huge mistakes they did upon release. Those corrections may not be faster as the players might want, but they are being done! If it’s not of your liking just move along as a lot of players did.
/Cheers
The problem with innovation is that you’re the first to try it and as a result, you’re the first to fail, as well. ANet has clearly done some things right in abandoning the old trinity system. But was it successful? While you may argue that it’s up to your personal preference, in the adults’ world, this is not so. If they’re intent on keeping this system – where every man’s for himself – the boss mechanic would have to be more complex to address that. Unfortunately, that is not the case right now.
What’s really sad about this whole issue is that many of the GW2 team members have that same attitude – the ‘if you dont like it, leave it’ sort of attitude towards their creations. It’s important to take pride in what you do. But the above quotation is one you can repeat until your game finally has reached down to its last single player remaining. Any good company – not just gaming – knows how to take feedback and turn them into strengths. Your childish ‘take it or leave it’ attitude will, ultimately, destroy a potentially amazing MMO like the GW2.
I strongly disagree.
Many players came to play Gw2 because they though it was the holy Panacea for every game out there. This game isn’t suited for everyone, and definitively not all won’t like the game! We can see players wanting the game to move to one direction and players wanting to move the other direction. In the end how can we define what players want and how the game should evolve?
You are absolutely correct that innovation is the key element and while many players strongly are against innovations, other are not. So in what way should your claim of the game current situation be any better than the ones that find it excellent? Indeed they should pride of their work, but shouldn’t they also being able to ignore the comments if that destroys the integrity of their work? How do we stand then?
To the players there is nothing more than the old “Don’t like it? You are free to leave anytime”. If you can’t bear the waiting for the tide of change, just walk along in the beach and try to find another MMO who suits you more! This is the overall picture. I don’t agree that the game will ever reach 1 man standing playing the game. It simply wont. The game will in it’s own way, filter the holy grail chasers and leave the game for those who really enjoy the game for what it is.
Game Progress will walk slowly towards perfection, and still it may not be the perfection you desire. For that it may never be!
/Cheers
Yes. There have been many issues since the release of the game, and they are being solved in it’s due pace. However i don’t agree that the problems lies in the core mechanic. The main problem lies in working in 3 different gaming styles (PvE, PvP and WvW), without compromising the integrity of the others.
So, with this being said, i find the trinity system way outdated. Now, all the players are responsible for their own life and have something to say in the life of the others. It’s a more evenly distributed system and the way it should be. Picking your example, if one player is downed, the other players have the responsibility to work towards it’s rescue. Don’t see the chaos here. Maybe you are used to rely on some to do this job. Old habits die hard, i suppose.
About the PvP base? I Agree that the game isn’t suited for more competitive players and definitively not ready for a E-Sport. But it’s getting there. More maps, more gaming modes, more tools (Leaderboards, custom arenas and spectator mode) are being gradually introduced to the game. So, the PvP player base is lower as it used to be, but honestly i can only see it going higher due to this updates).
In the end, the team is correcting some huge mistakes they did upon release. Those corrections may not be faster as the players might want, but they are being done! If it’s not of your liking just move along as a lot of players did.
/Cheers
Well for me support is the player which by his role will bring direct advantages to the group.
For example, i have a support warrior focused on longbow and banners for WvW and PvE, with Healing power/boon duration maxed. This can really provide a permanent Regeneration and swiftness boon to the party, and a high amount of Might to everyone. (Including the fire combo field).
Every class can dps, and every class can be support!

I would like a function to view other players equipment like there was in ultima online.
No.
It would create Elitism and undesired segregation.

After 600 hours played as a necro, i can KIND of see your problem. I have never been kicked because i am a necro, but yesterday was my first “Horrible” experience. I join a team in fractals level 26. they asked me to change char, since necro isnt the best and they are afraid we are going to hit the maximum bleed stack. But the problem is… Im not a condition necro. I use wells as the OP said, but just because i am a necro, everyone thinks i use conditions.
I got to stay, but they were joking about my DPS all the time. Calling my class bad and laughing at me, becuase they played guardian. The funny part is: My whole team was guardians with relic gear. They probably had worse DPS than me, since im running soldiers gear.
Guardians with scepter and relic gear simply does not hit more than a necro with bone minions/wells in soldiers gear. I tried saying that to them, but they didnt believe me and just laughed at me. In the fire shaman fractal we failed to save the captives. Guess what… they said “That kitten necro has to low DPS, thats why we fail”… I literally wanted to punch myself in the face so hard i would turn into a jagged horror.
Guardians with relics gear and scepter with tanky builds blame me for bad dps?
Im feeling with you OP…
Well nothing to do with Necromancers there. Retarrded players are retarrded . End of story!
I did not get kicked.. however I did get to see the kick box come up after the last boss was dead on a run. Luckily for the person that they were trying to kicked there were no other people to 2nd the vote in the group. I put the person that initiated the kick on block because I do not care to group with people like that.. however I wonder if I should report this and if so what is it tagged as?
Let me try to understand. The run was over. The chest was looted (if there was one), and a kick was issued?
- Was the guy AFK?
- Doing no more runs?
This alone is very incomplete for us to make a judgment on the issuer. Can you elaborate the situation?
/Cheers
Well done Geo. +1

Because Lost Shores…
Because of them admitting to boss encounters being stale, one dimensional, and that they were working on fixing them..
Because the personal story had middle-school play cut-scenes and F&F has proper, yet wonky and most likely rushed real scenes…
There are tons of things that somewhat indicate ArenaNet seems to take the path of least resistance more often than not.
This decision screams compromise.
Yes i agree in that points. They do tend to work for the easy and fast solutions and sometimes they are not the best ones, but still, that don’t mean that if they don’t want to add capes is because of the clipping issues.
If they said: “We will add capes, so here are the flags” i would agree with you, but they didn’t. They say: “There will be flags”. That don’t mean they aren’t capable of making capes. They prefer not to (whatever the reason). Completely different things!
Why the heck do everyone assume that if they don’t introduce a feature is because they have a problem with it’s implementation?
They probably don’t want Capes because that’s what every game used in the past. It’s so repetitive…
“You shall not wear capes” → Here. Take a flag instead! …….. Intended
If they do, cool. If they don’t, no problem whatsoever as they don’t have the duty to do so!
OMG…. flags on our backs seem like we are school kids supporting an event
capes on the other hand makes us mother father gentlemen.
Aye in favour?
Disagree.
Guild Flags are fine! Capes are way overused…
I had to make a post in this thread because my main classes are Mesmer and Necromancer and i love to play them both. I honestly don’t feel that one is more powerful than the other.
Necromancer has so many good things that people often don’t realize it, because they don’t know where it comes from.
If we take CoF P1, the permanent poison can be extremely effective (ig: reducing the healing on the final boss), the plague signet is exceptional because it removes that Nasty Burning from the same final boss. I remember one time a group with 2 Condition Damage Necromancers in the first miniboss inside CoF P1 (the one that spawns that efigy), we killed the effigy first just by using epidemic and wells, always targeting the miniboss.
For WvW Necromancer is extremely effective. It is one of the best “wall fighters” there is. Wells, marks, Aoe’s all into the ground. It can prevent unwanted surprises by setting marks on the ground (knowing when a thief just crossed it in stealth). If there are 2 or 3 Necromancers in the walls, only a Lunatic won’t get out there. Necros can strip the boons, set heavy conditions.
There is a very good fear condition duration enhanced build that are very good for sPvP Necromancer. There are also very good Minion sPvP Necros.
I don’t know why people are so adverse to Necromancers… It’s incredibly powerful, and people don’t realize it. I guess what people see is that if they don’t run the Berserker set it’s flawed from the start… shame on them!
But as Vayne stated (geez, i’m agreeing with Vayne…
’), you should play with the class that you have the most fun playing.

Just going to start an argument with fanboys, so I’ll just say I don’t care for the dragons. Suffice to say Zhaitan is the biggest joke I have ever seen.
I care less about dragons as well. I like them for the impressive art work, but your argument was completely inaccurate. You have killed one at the most, so you can’t argue that the Dragons are or aren’t good to fight, if you only killed Zhaitan and wasn’t on a World Boss kinda Event!
One, and there was no sense of triumph, no joy of victory, no fervent virtual high-fiving in the party, no ‘Woot, we did it!’, only a dull, glazed-over feeling of relief that the most boring, needlessly drawn-out, mind-numbing mission I have played in any game ever was finally over.
Good for you!
… and?
Gotta admit and say I could give less than 2 craps about the dragons. They aren’t dangerous or impressive at all to me, I have seen better harder to kill dragons in nearly every other MMO. Guild Wars 2 is an awesome game, but they really dropped the ball on dragons/raid bosses.
So… how many Elder Dragons have you killed so far?
Well, i can say this:
What do you want to play?
PvE? WvW (World PvP) ?
There are High, Medium and Low Servers. Between those, there are more WvW oriented and PvE oriented.
If you want to play in a PvE server i recommend a Medium to High server between t4-t9 WvW tiers. (servers between nº10 and 27)
If you want to play in WvW server i recommend a Medium to High server between T1 and T3. (servers between nº1 and 9)
For Low, Medium and High servers, check upon creation.
On the tiers check : http://mos.millenium.org/matchups

LHound,
What happens to the basic items then?? the total amount of drops still have to be 100%, so even if magic find gets you more fine drops (wich I actually doubt) it means you get lesser basic drops, so lesser lootbags. While lootbags are what you really really want when farming tier 6 materials.
Well, 2 situations may arise.
If we take gray items as the lowest rarity possible then basic (white) items will be increased as well. If the white items are the lowest rarity, then we would see a decrease in those, to the increase of the rarest. These two situations are not quite clear and therefore, not suited to a perfect valid solution!
But i agree with your assessment, except that underlined part
. To aim for T6 blue mats, loot bags are the way to go.
It might be that the effect is slightly higher, but cause of the decrease in white drops and so lootbags and the effect of slower farming with magic find gear it will in every scenario be less effective to put on magic find gear.
I agree. As i already stated on this thread. MF might be good for some, but not for all situations!
/Cheers

PS: I want a Shatterer MINI Pet! Love the looks ^^
PS2: Want a branded charr gear set… It looks +9000% better than the rest of the charr skins!
Using signets will reduce the number of buttons you need. I think there is a viable warrior build using only signets, someone might confirm? Also warriors use only F1 and some builds don’t even use it.
This IMO, is the best for your purpose.
-F1 is the only class mechanic button (Mesmer have F1 to F4)
-Class can work very well with signets and there is indeed some signets builds.
-Good health pool and good defense (useful if you want to play with the least buttons as possible as it gives you good survival to balance the lack of those skills).
/Cheers
…
The rarity of the matieral isn’t based upon the tier but on the rarity itself (the colour).
Most tier 6 fine materials you need are mostly coming from dead corpses directly or lootbags. Fine materials are blue coloured, while it increases the change slightly to get a blue drop above the white drops, MF is mostly aiming for rare and exotic drops
I can’t agree with this. Magic find always works as a multiplier factor on a certain drop rate. So the lowest the rarity (highest drop rate from the loot table) the highest the effect of MF on them:
If my magic find increases the drop rate on 10% (let’s make 10% for the example purpose), then:
- If a Exotic rarity weapon have 0,1% of chance of dropping, then MF increased the drop of that particular item to 0,11%.
- If a Blue rarity weapon have 20% of chance on dropping, then MF increased the drop of that particular item to 22%.
So in 1000 loot picked (theoretically), you should get 1 Exotic weapon (with MF or not, as 0,11 or 0,10 makes no difference) and 220 Blue items (instead of 200 with no MF -> Gain of 20).
This is valid as long as the drop rate increases as the loot quality decreases (as normally do in the loot tables).
My point is:
- If you are aiming for drops in the Blue/Green Rarity then, MF is a good help. If you are aiming for rare and exotic range, then MF may have no effect at all and Berserker stats are prefered!

7 months later and mesmers are still gamebreaking. Cannot be hit underwater whatsoever. Come on, arena, get your kitten together
Grave digging i see.
I have no problem whatsoever killing a Mesmer. It’s quite easy if you learn the tricks to identify the real one!
The best advice is to create a Mesmer and learn for yourself the flaws!
hum….
Did you try the Engineer as it is now? It got some love from the last patch!
Hey there, I’m starting to try and farm some of my T6 mats for a legendary and I was wondering if Magic Find affects the drop rate of T6 mats? Thanks in advance!
Yes it does.
The definition on the wiki:
“Magic Find is an attribute that increases a player’s chance to receive higher-quality loot from dead foes.1 Magic Find only affects loot dropped by foes, it does not affect any other source of loot.”
Be aware that sometimes the drop quality is not better than the drop speed. By this i mean that sometimes is better not to use Magic Find as a stat (loosing DPS), when using a Full DPS set (ig: Berserker’s) that nets you more loot over time!
What is better?
- 5 rares over 100 looted items? (5% rare drop) ?
or
- 5 rares over 125 looted items? (4% rare drop) ?
There is a substantial discussion about the Magic Find Stat and it’s usefulness.
Try it and see for yourself.
/Cheers
Your total merits in the end of the week from the guild bounty missions is equal to the merits rewarded from the highest tiered bounty you complete.
So…
If you have done a T1 (15 Merits) and:
- You after do a T2 you win adittional 5 Merits (as T2 totalize 20 Merits);
- You after do a T3 you win additional 10 Merits (as T3 totalize 25 Merits);
If you have done a T2 (20 Merits) and:
- You after do a T1 you don’t win anything else. (As T1 reward is lower than T2);
- You after do a T3 you win additional 5 Merits (as T3 totalize 25 Merits);
If you have done a T3 (25 Merits) and:
- You after do a T1 you don’t win anything else. (As T1 reward is lower than T3);
- You after do a T2 you don’t win anything else. (As T2 reward is lower than T3);

For example, before the recent ‘boss chest’ change, in the main Hirathi event chain when the Seraph storm the Centaur’s main camp, the chest spawned after the Seraph broke the gates, ie. two events before the main boss event.I found I could log in a toon AFTER that chest spawned and still open it, even though my toon wasn’t even in the game when it spawned and in some cases I wasn’t logged into the game at all.
I opened it on all my toons that could get there, was that an ‘exploit’? If so then I risked a ban doing something that the game allowed me to do. I assumed it was WAI since otherwise Anet would have fixed it: the change you did was clearly more than ‘fixing’ a bug (there are after all several world chests that are perma-spawned in those camps).
Let’s use your example as a case study. I’ve underlined the most important parts:
First of all if you have found something that was to good to be true (first underlined paragraph), then, you had the following choices:
.1 – Let ANet know of this situation and keep it to yourself to avoid spreading a possible “not working as intended” feature. Only after ANet response if this could or not be an exploit (in this example it seems clear to me) you should open (or not) the chest.
.2 – Open the chest regardless of being an exploit or not. If by chance:
.2.1 – You are really that naive to not realize it could be an exploit, then your ignorance may get you banned someday.
.2.2 – You had the feeling that it could be an exploit but you decided to take the risk, that’s a different story and can be banned with no pity from the rest of us.
.2.3 – You deliberately knew it was an exploit, but your greed and selfishness impelled you to farm it “over 9000” times to accomplish your personal goals, then you are a kitten.
The underlined words of the second paragraph clearly states the reason of exploiting. Not all things that the game allows you to do are intended, and while the difference between what is intended and what is not, is sometime hard to judge, risking a bad judgment may get you banned!
ANet can only fix the exploits if they know what isn’t working as intended. Most of the times they find it though in-game reports of wealth, instead of the players report upon finding.
i.g.: Probably some alarm will go off, if my account get 1000 ectos in one day, and probably will need a detailed check to see where did i get them, and if it was from a legit way or not. Actions are taken solely based on ANET interpretation of the degree of abuse and truth be told, some honestly deserve the ban, although what we read here in the forums from the “allegedly innocent players” says otherwise!
/Cheers
TL:DR – To lazy to make one! Read the post or not!
(edited by LHound.8964)
why do you spend you time and effort making one underwater legendary? such waste O_o, anyway is you money!
Why is it a waste? If the stats are almost the same as the exotic versions, what is the reason for not having a underwater legendary?
- Does it make you feel greater if you show off you legendary around the map? It’s a bragging factor?
- For myself, i am finishing my Legendary, and yes it’s the underwater trident. Love the snakes look!
First of all, i haven’t log in to my account to know if the ban-hammer has struck me or not, but what unsettles me is not knowing why. If the “Exploit” has been fixed, do you mind telling the common folks what has been abused? The simple feeling of not knowing why people have been banned is worrying me sick.
What i would like to see from ANet, is something like:
.1 – “Exploit”
.2 – Reason why this is an exploit, and what was affected by this.
.3 – Measures to deal with this exploit and penalties applied.
PS: I’m a very casual player so i’m rest assured that I’ve done nothing wrong.

The numbers of OP is misleading since you need to also take into account the value of those that you mine.
1) How much Oricalcum can you purchase for 24g (est. val. of 800 gems)?
2) Calculate how much per Oricalcum sells for.
3) Calculate how many Oricalcum will it take to sell for 24g worth.
4) After selling all Oricalcum to pay off 24g, the rest are 100% profit. In my experience mining just Mythril and Oricalcum, I can get 24g at a rate of 1g/day or 24days.
Therefore I will not see profit after 8yrs, lol, maybe just after a month at the latest.
Well worth it for me at least.
The OP numbers are not misleading. It is correctly stated. Yours however can be misleading. Lets Explain:
OP is making a plain comparison between the Molten pick and the Orichalcum pick. Both of them return the same amount of Ores when mining, so the ore price can’t be used as a factor for the ROI. Bearing this in mind, OP is absolutely correct in his assessment about the ROI “Gold”.
However not all return can be quantifiable regarding the gold only but the visual effect and convenience as well as already stated.
/Cheers
I’m pretty satisfied with my main classes elites:
Mesmer:
-Time Warp – for obvious reasons;
-Moa Morph – Great for sPvP;
-Mass Invisibility – Great in WvW and in PvE
Necromancer
-Lich Form – Great damage and great AoE capability!
-Plague – IMO One of the best Elites in the game. Mainly for suicide forwards in WvW and tactical retreats. Care more about the damage it holds than the damage it gives.
Warrior
- Battle Standard – Just Excellent! Either in WvW as in PvE.
- Signet of Rage – Great Signet and worth of being an elite.
What did you expect of an elite? 1Hit KO? An flawless advantage?
They are fine as they are.

I am too a casual player and i share the same frustration as OP does, when working for the legendary. The presence of a RNG rewarding system is nowhere near the “philosophy” of this game and i honestly don’t get why the legendary weapons aren’t the result of hard work and effort instead of a mindless grind. I don’t want things easier nor i want the things to be cheaper, but i want to see a sense of progression directly tied to effort of achieving. Actually there is none!
The sad truth is that this game is focused on Gold. This fact is mainly due to the business model that ANet is enforcing which forces players to get gold for everything else. Obviously the most direct way of getting easy gold is paying for it (Gems → Gold), which increases the company profits. This is supported by the single fact that legendary weapons can be bought and sold!
Honestly we can’t differentiate a hard working player from a rich money sinking player or from a RNG lucky guy.
While my trust on this company that i admired before is going downhill, so is the money i am willing to spend of the game. Actually i will not spend any more cents on this game until this scavenging stops. The greed for fast money is a the long run, the responsible for the company loosing people everyday and by that reducing the expected return.
Players want → Effort and Skill rewarding system!
Company want → Grind and Gold rewarding system!

So i just got gw2 today and i was wondering how long it would take me to get to 80 if i play about 6 hours a day?
Well if you can get into a nice guild that makes dungeon runs frequently you can do it very fast. Exp Dungeon mode gives you +- 1 level per run. This is great for higher levels.
But i can agree also with 1 week. If you want to level fast, then use these advices:
- Do dynamic events first when they spawn rather than yellow hearts. And between 2 dynamic events, bosses first and then normal ones.
- Story (Green mission) gives a lot of experience. So make sure it keeps up with your level.
- Don’t finish maps! You can do it later! If you are lv18 on a 1-15 map is better to move to the next zone 15-25, even if the first it is not finished. The XP gain from everything is higher!
- Use XP boosts if you get a hold of them. XP curve is almost linear. So the cost of leveling is the same in whatever level you are in. Don’t “Save them” for the final, or you will start to pile them in your bank for nothing.
- Use consumables that grants +xp bonus. There are some that sells for a few copper a piece, of even some karma (like the rice in the cooking master), that helps you leveling independently of the other bonus it may have.
/Cheers
I’d actually rather they made other weapons more interesting skillwise.. with nearly every class I feel pushed into using a greatsword because it’s one of the best weapons available.
mesmer: staff is nice, but it’s auto attack is a projectile which can be reflected, storm is way better but all in all gs is always a solid choice
warri: 100b is just too strong to ignore, #5 a great traveling skill, #3 an evade with good damage
ranger: only meelee weapon apart from sword, and sword just doesn’t work imho (way to slow activation time for skills which really should be fluid). block, stun, travel skill, relly nice overall.
guardian: question of preference, hammer is quite good as well, but feels a lot less mobileso yeah, gs has way too many skins compared to other weapons, but it’s also a universally good weapon for every class who can wield it (I don’t say the only choice, but it’s always a good choice).
Although i can understand your point, it is not related to the purpose of the thread. This is about discussing the lack of good skins on staves when comparing to other kind of weapons.
I currently have a Necromancer and a Mesmer as my preferred playing characters. In both i use staff as the primary weapon and i got confronted with the problem of choosing a staff. As if it wasn’t already bad that my Necromancer (Harbinger of death kinda look) have to stick with a legendary that springs a rainbow trail from the top, i have to stick with staves skins that are incredibly dull.
There are tridents and spears that resembles staves that could indeed be used as staff skins.
So in the end i have to agree.
Staves needs some love from the incredible art team!

Stability is a boon that prevents the Interrupt effects. Interrupt (by the wiki definition): “An interrupt is any action that prevents a foe from completing its current action.”
Interrupt skills prevents you from casting skills, including condition removals. Immobilize does not. So it’s fine as it is.
Immobilize is in the movement impairment conditions, so do not need stability:
– Cripple – 50% Movement reduce;
– Chill – 66% Movement reduce
– Immobilize – 100% Movement reducing (aka as root).

Have you already tried through this link?
make henchmen / heroes available for hire for gems.
anet profits
That would be a great stupidity…
I’t s like having a visual disability and still have to pay for visual aids (as if having the disability is not enough) everywhere you need to go…
Do for free or don’t do it!
The Critical Damage cap is at 60%, tested with multiple professions.
So your total (non-visible) Critical Damage is at 210%.
This puzzled me.
Are you saying that any critical damage beyond 60% will deal the same amount of damage on crits as 60% do?
What are your top difficulties within the game? What class are you playing and what benefits would the henchman bring to you?

I would be glad for one Light armor that suited well on a Charr…
Gimme branded charr’s looking armor!
Congratz, and the best for all 5 of you
Just please don’t tell me you named it after a GW/GW2 NPC!

PS: This is the time you should not be playing the game, and actually in the hospital with the miss and the baby :p
No!

I’ve always thought it just looked freakin sweet but I hear a lot of “if you’re not a good commander don’t buy the pin” is there a special place I can go to get good commander skills before I’m a commander I’m not aware of? I am in WvW quite often but I don’t quite get how you become a good leader without leading.
I guess my question is, how do you jump past the “new leader” shenanigans? Obviously current commanders like Mance, Beg or Cuts didn’t buy gw2 and instantly become good commanders. Is being mildly distrusted just territory that comes with being a new commander because a lot of the commanders on JQ are relatively well known on any given time of day.
I can answer to that.
Commanding is not a benefit. Commanding is a burden! Don’t let anyone fool you! Commanding is all about taking the responsibilities of your teammates and the entire server throughout a goal! Obviously there are always more capable and willing commanders out there specially on SFR, and due to that myself i chose to turn only my commander when strictly needed.
How did i chose to be a commander? I didn’t! People asked me to be due to the way i lead them before! I have been a siege commander in every game i’ve played and people gladly followed me!
The difference between a good commander and a bad commander is not the amount of things you conquer, but the willingness people have to follow you no matter what! If you know how lead, be rational, don’t send people into deathtraps, work with the teammates as well with the pugs, communicate and so forth you will be a good one. After that, just practice and ASK! Asking for aid though more experienced commanders is a good way of letting people know, you are learning, and they will help you. If you by chance when spending 100g on the title become a kitten, then people will starting to be angry towards you and you will face the rage.

Bought or dropped?
I would trow 1000gold into the middle of LA, so that everyone struggles to get it! At least this way we would have GvG content!
The rest of the 999000gold i would use in the mystic forge so that zomoros get blown up:

It’s a 100% drop from this boss:
Almighty RNG!
Be aware it can drive you crazy!!!
I remember the drunk effect in the beta, but it could have been me and not the toon…
Blurred memories…
Some stood in Gw2 while other rage and left! Playing the game this long is quite an achievement and it should be rewarded as such xD.
If someone likes collecting achievements, nothing wrong with that. But dailies and Monthlies are lifetime achievements and should not be overlooked!
