Would I have built Engineer from the ground up differently (thanks to hindsight!), yes.
Would I ask them to rework nades/bombs now, no.

Making major playstyle changes years into a game would be a mistake. That said I’d love for some of the “engineer-y” skills (gadgets/turrets mainly) get some actual power and purpose.

Honestly, as I said in past posts, the best way to provide Engineer a new playstyle that does not depend 90% on kits, such as bombs and grenade kit, as it is now is to introduce a Elite Spec that focus more on the Main Weapons such as a Technomancer Elite Spec or maybe a Psychic Elite Spec. .

I like how you have a list of things that these classes bring but to bring those they lose on other stuff. And now only warr can stack 25 might. And yes their personal dps is abyssmal (with the exception of burnzerker which atm is broken) All 3 classes can be replaced if new elite specs can do the same stuff ( a symbol quickness guard a might stackig thief) For druid its either give to other gotl or flat out remove it. Oh and make spirits on ranger 10 man buff.

That would be nice but the trait is weak in spvp 1 stack of bleed is nothing if it was 1 stack of poison or torment it would be viable in spvp and still be usable in other parts of the game.

On the wvw pve split i do not think its going to happen raids have made a anet that is hellbent on making pve only content.

I mean its far more likely they would split it than redo which condition it deals. If it is true that Anet cares only about pve then why would they care if it under performing in pvp? Keep in mind they had to change it from its original form because it was too powerful in pvp.

Maybe bleeds do not fit how about added 1 stack of torment or poison on chill. So it will still do ok condi dmg with out doing too high and at the same time give you an added effect of making it harder for someone to get away or harder to heal.

Torment on chill something i been asking for on ele for a long time because it fits the blizzard effect from fractals.

No need for these suggestions. It just needs a split for WvW.

School Uniform

At this point, I think the biggest holdup is that it was designed for the old town clothes system. They’d have to redesign the items as a set of skins, an outfit, or a tonic. Tonic would probably be easiest, but least liked. A set of skins or an outfit would be more popular but more complicated, due to the need for color channels.

It’s probably on someone’s to do list, but with a low priority. I hope they get around to it sooner or later. I’d buy it.

An outfit would be pretty easy. I mean that’s why they switched from making armour to outfits in the first place. Ease of creation.

I miss tomes too. When used right they would make or break your group in any game mode (PvP/WvW/PvE/Dungeons). It was fun and visually stimulating.

They were actually really good when used properly, but pressing more than one button (Renewed Focus) is apparently too “clunky” for some people. XD

I know right? Anyone that doesn’t play condi engi is a noob. They’re just too dumb to play something with more than one button XD

You want bleeds nerfed, then give us something in return. Only because of deathly chill can necro dps go to range of “acceptale” for raid comps and we can get into a raid or two..

And that’s only if we manage to combo off of our only ice field. Needs more personal combo field priority!

Nice of you to make these assertions. I was using this strat before Brazil even made the video. Before HoT even.

Despite the strat requiring a semi organised team to pull off? Aka, spotter, disc banner and fury (for the less than 30% precision build). And the actual Reaper spec since Death Perception only works in shroud and Death Shroud is utter kitten on its own.

You pretty much just described every raid and meta build in existence.

So much for using this strat pre HoT and whilst solo running.

How can you expect me to take you seriously when you think DS is only used for 4 and 5.

Almost every single skill on tomes were used, so that’s not really helping your comparison with them to other forms. Not that I agree that other forms are/were only used for one skill either. For one thing, nobody who actually knew how to use Tome of Courage used it for the full heal, but that’s what most people think for some reason.

Tome of Courage had niche use in WvW as a limited use healer. However most people preferred to use Renewed Focus because it was far more useful across the board.

Tome of Wrath was just plain awful. Damage was awful and the support it gave was only slightly better. I can’t see anyone defending this aside from its looks, which is no justification to keep a skill.

As for the other transforms, they’ve mostly gone the way of the dodo. I can’t remember seeing any serious use of Rampage, Elixir X, Tornado/Whirlpool, since post HoT. Lich Form again was use purely for Jagged Horrors. Plague for safe stomp in pvp, though “Chilled to the Bone” gets far more use.

Ok to clarify. They should “tome” all the elite forms.
As for Cele form, it allows you to use your utilities. And was created within the past 2 years rather than at the start of the game. Anet obviously learnt from the disaster that was the original forms.
As for Shroud, well that’s a hotly debated topic though it is unique in that it grants you an extra life bar of sorts.
You can’t deny forms need a lot of work. My suggestion is just the easier route for Anet,
if they decide to do something about forms (they don’t have infinite resources).

Since this weapon is used exactly nowhere (i will not except open world pve as a justification) it could stand to see some improvements, so here is my bucket of ideas

Greatsword is actually part of the Condi necro meta now. Though it is utterly kitten that a weapon designed for power is used as a condi weapon.

Auto attack is fine as it is aside from the final attack. That needs to be 3/4s cast time since it is currently a dps loss to complete the chain. Bad design on Anet’s part.

As for Soul Eater, Anet needs to make it a viable option if we manage to gain 100% crit chance and 25 might without taking DD or CV (like in an organised party). Something like +10% damage from Greatsword attacks, life siphon on all attacks whilst wielding a Greatsword and 20% recharge reduction on Greatsword skills.

I definitely agree with the Grasping Darkness idea though. Making it stop and return to you instead of failing when it hits a ledge would be a great help.

IIRC, I can do that with a pure Necro build … and for a matter of fact, get MANY more bleed stacked from a condi Ranger. I don’t know of other classes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a few others that have massive condi damage potential I’m not familiar with.

So flip that question … if it IS considered OP, why is that amount a standard, not an exception for classes with focused condition builds? You fail to see how it’s possible, simply because you DON’T want to see it happen.

Now, if you were to provide actual reasoning why people shouldn’t be able to stack lots of bleed stacks, … let us know it.

I think I managed ~50 stacks purely with a ranger/shortbow. PLS NERF ANET 2 STRONK!!!!1!!!1

No. If Anet truly believes Deathly Chill is too powerful, they should tone down the amount of bleeds. An ICD would destroy the skill utterly.

Ok then remove all other icd for traits then. Why dose blinding ash have an icd realty all ele traits have these icd that makes them much more weaker.

Chills are easy for reaper to out put and if its going to stay 3 stack per chill your going to need to put an icd for at least per player or chill/bleed is always going to be the best dmg tool necro has.

The skill wasn’t overpowered at all before. Then Anet tripled the bleed stacks it inflicted (in pve/wvw only). Tell me where is the logic in giving it an ICD when the problem came about because Anet over-tuned it with the last buff?

On another note, the only game mode in which it is overpowered is in WvW. This was probably an oversight by anet considering it was meant to be a pve only buff (WvW sometimes counts as pve, for skill splits, and sometimes counts as pvp).

It is and its crazy that you do not see it. The old chilling death was too powerful most ppl saw it so it became bleeds now the bleeds stacking to 3 makes it just as powerful as the old chilling death in many ways stronger because it lets you do more then just 1 stack of condi dmg its 3 stacks per chill effect.

You don’t need to be a genius to work out that I was referring to the previous 1 bleed stack per chill, as not being overpowered. And as you conveniently ignored, I did highlight the fact that the only mode it is OP in is WvW. They could easily fix this without any ICD or changes to the trait itself, but rather revert it back to the old 1 stack of bleed in WvW (as it is in PvP).

Borderline useless, vs precision, which is always useless.

As someone that has just called into question another person’s ability to play necro, I have to do the same with you. The idea that precision is wasted because necro can have 100% crit chance without any investment is just kitten. You won’t be doing optimal damage if you sit in shroud the whole fight.

well i knew how to use them on WvW…. and people usually thanked me back.
still they were very situational elites, but these one actually … are useless to me.
So guardian atm only has 1 elite skill…

1 elite to refresh virtues every 90sec….. that is the only elite skill Guadian/DH has.

Well yeah, no guardian should be using anything but Renewed Focus in WvW. That goes without say. But outside wvw (and pvp I guess), “Feel my wrath” is king.

Hydromancy VS geomancy

Superior Sigil of Geomancy inflicts 3 stacks of bleeding for 10s (so 20s at 100% bleed duration).
Superior Sigil of Hydromancy inflicts chill + 3 stacks of bleeding from Deathly Chill for 5s (10s at 100% bleed duration).
So Sigil of Geomancy does double damage overall.

Dark Aura yes please. Although given how Auras work, its more likely it will steal life from foes that hit the user rather than giving the user life steal. Depending on how powerful they make it, it could also inflict blind on attacking foes too. Though this might make it slightly too powerful.

as far as wells go this one is terribly outdated.

I would like for it to change to a dark field to allow siphoning via whirl finishers, and its pulls effect to change from a ghetto regen (that does not work in shroud bdw) to this:
heal yourself and conjure a well of blood that enables allies standing within it to siphon health from foes.

*Basically make it pulls out a buff (similarly to how well of power works) each second that last for 1 second which gives allies life siphon, numbers are up for debate but something akin to what vampiric rituals trait gives except without any icd (so it would work the same way the vampiric trait works).

this would make it in to a healing skill that can actually support allies and increase their damage a bit as well as combo well with any rapid attacks which reaper has plenty of. And since we are talking life siphon it would be able to heal you while in shroud as long as you stand withing the well and land attacks.*

Alright, screw the water field, I love this idea. This would be a big enough change to make me actually take Well of Blood. Love it.

The only problem with the idea is the bit in bold since it directly overlaps with signet of vampirisms active effect, essentially being the same thing.

I mean they did pretty much introduce Signet of Vampirism to take over the role of Well of Blood (our group support heal). So I don’t mind WoB knocking SoV out of top spot. However they could change SoV’s passive so that you life steal when you hit a foe (no icd – basically signet of malice with life steal but lower healing of course), making it much more desirable to be taken for the passive effect, while still maintaining a slightly inferior active group support effect.

Only reason why I said for Mark of Horrors to be the Spectral elite instead of Grim Spectre, is because it actually has synergy with with the spectral trait. Grim Spectre has no duration to increase. Whereas with Mark of Horrors, if it was given a 60s cooldown and 30s duration on jagged horrors, you could gain near permanent horrors when traited (at last a build that is preferable to take Spectral Mastery instead of Vital Persistance).
Though you could easily make mark of horrors into an elite signet, with Grim Spectre as the new spectral. Something along the lines of:
Signet of Horrors – 60s cd, 1s cast
Passive – Gain life force when struck.
Active – Damage foes in target area and spawn 5 Jagged Horrors (30s duration).

Id be happy with having mark of horror as an elite skill instead of lich form.

Edit: I do like plague though, but that doesn’t mean that it couldnt use a buff or two. Perhaps a 4th option to transfer conditions to nearby foes.

That would work well as a spectral skill too, given the spectral trait could increase the jagged horror life span (it might actually get some use at last!).

While a great idea, I think the flow would be almost identical to Urban Battleground in reverse.
