This was loltastic. I had 44+ FPS but skills would activate minutes late, and chat updated sometimes.
This one time event should be over some time next year at this rate.
What class are you? You’ve got more health and armour than my warrior, in knight’s gear (but not jewels), with 30 points in defense (+300 toughness). A supremely damaging HB I could see maybe killing you if you sat there grinning the whole time, but killshot?
Pics or didn’t happen.
have not played since launch, can warriors still fight like 8 mods at the same time and kill them all off quick with 2h sword?
Freudian slip?
Naturally it varies with different mobs, different traits/gear, and different players – but it’s certainly possible, for sure. When I’m bored I go farming in orr sometimes just to be getting money until I feel like doing something specific, and sometimes I just pop stability and axe-spin through a group of risen, then turn around at the far end and chop my way back. Easier than pie, and doesn’t require a crafting station either.
I am sure that in this case, the word “mate” is used as in the meaning of “friend”.
That’s the sum of it. You give people an inch and they carve a mile.
I’m now actually quite sure this is not the case, as I’ve heard NPC’s using ‘mate’ in a sexual partner sense since then. One easy to find example was just outside the gate from the Citadel into Ashford; down the first ramp to the right, a male charr talking to a nearby female mentions his ‘mate’ took their cub to a fahraar recently, and says he will ‘miss it’.
The only other sense I’ve heard used is ’band mate, (as in warband. It seems to be either ’band mate or warband member depending I suppose on formality).
Maybe it was luck or the fact he hit two people as it pierced it’s way towards me
/facepalm
Don’t complain about something being overpowered when it’s bugged. Especially when you know it’s bugged.
Anyway, it’s fixed now, so feel free to use your allies as meat shields.
For that matter, will there be collectible slots for existing crafting mats that just randomly don’t have any? Or at least increased stack size?
I foresee a lot of mule alts in the future if every new set of skins gets new ingredients as well. Or I suppose I could just have two bank-guilds when our current one fills up.
There are a lot of precursors, OP. Developing a system of clues and whatnot that isn’t absolute trash won’t just happen overnight.
Don’t consider this a flamebait, but if by ‘creepy’ you mean that I like to form my own opinions based upon what I see instead of what I read on forums, then i’ll take your assessment as a compliment.
I was actually already there doing something else. It only took few minutes of standing around to see how misguided the OP is.
No no, it was definitely the ‘so I went to stalk some noobs’ thing. ;P
While I don’t really agree with the OP’s reasoning, I’m pretty sure charr were the least played race the last time anet posted actual statistics. Slightly behind asura and sylvari, which were a bit behind norn, which were still a lot behind human. Not sure if that’s still the case (as far as I know no further stats on it have been posted) but OP isn’t just making it up out of nowhere.
One thing I’ve noticed because I use T1 on my necro, is that charr NPC’s never seem to use the leggings. It’s usually T2 or some kind of pants.
All my toons are female Charr, they are such fun to play, I love to storm into human taverns and pounce all over the tables shouting ’for Iron legion and Meaty Chunks!".
…you can’t take some people anywhere.
TBH I think racials should have been left out of the game altogether. They just can’t actually be useful and still fit their idea that all races are equally good for any class, which leaves us with novelty skills that are barely, if ever, worth actually using. That just makes them feel cheap and junky.
Her face is so misleading… it’s like the part you could always see is one colour, then bam, suddenly grey.
Even if this is fixed, I wonder what it means for future weapons. If you use pink-tier for stats, will you only get a ‘special’ upgrade slot on your legendary? Or would it ‘promote’ exotics transmuted after a hypothetical fix, too?
I guess it’s lucky I don’t like many legendary skins.
So now if I want a legendary for its skin, I have to make another one with the stats I actually want?
EDIT: weren’t skins like… the whole point of the legendaries?
Vitality by itself is bad for your healing because it just gives you more HP to lose (and restore) without improving mitigation. Toughness is mitigation. It increases your effective HP vs direct damage, basically making each point of health slightly more valuable, so healing the same amount becomes more effective. Healing power is basically the opposite of toughness: instead of making each HP worth more, it heals you for more HP.
So something like knight’s (not PvP – there it has vitality instead) or cleric’s is good for healing. Though if you were choosing between healing power and toughness, I’m not quite sure which would give an overall greater boost by itself.
If you think that’s bad, wait ’til you see the alt-fire on a WvW trebuchet…
So yeah the most underpowered class in the game is the most popular and YOU notice that 70% of the commander are warrior ?
Commander requires gold. Warriors are good in PvE. I wonder if there might be a connection…
Warrior is freaking versatile you can do everything : Venerability, Bleed, Cripple, Knock Down, Stun, 3 stack of constant of might to everyone around, AoE knock back.
Oh wow, I never thought of it like that. If I exclude all the other stuff in the game that really is everything. We even get venerability! 0__0
You have lots of weapons choice compare to ele or engineer with like 3-4 choice
Except that engineers have kits, and elementalists essentially have 4 versions of everything they can wield, sure.
You have 2 good viable range weapon (guardian ranged weapons are a joke not yours)
Wow, two! That’s like… half of an elementalist’s staff! Awesome.
you are the tank class in the game with 20k base hp level 80. The only thing you need is a short partial invincibility, oh wait you already have one.
There is no ‘the’ tank class. Some focus on mitigating damage (a la guardian), others on avoiding it (thief, mesmer), and some just bring enough life to take a few hits (warrior, necro).
It’s not that I doubt it would proc, just whether it’s working as well as it can. I believe it has a 2 second cooldown, so ideally it’s one you’d want to be activating a lot to really reach its potential. Though I guess I was mainly thinking of one large, tough target. If you mainly want the healing for hitting through multiple mobs with each swing it might not matter much.
A little like wondering what happens when you pass 40,000volts through a dead parrot then crying eureka ive discovered fried chicken.
In all fairness that would be quite an accomplishment.
Glass cannons are good for levelling IMO. Berserker rare gear and level appropriate ruby jewels all the way.
Just don’t get caught.
You’ve got fury and 100 precision right? That’s like what… 30% crit chance? The sigil of blood is pretty low cooldown iirc, are you sure a 30% chance of happening on 30% of attacks isn’t wasting it?
The conversions can be pretty awesome though. Poison becomes regeneration (looking at you, AC) and fire becomes aegis. Yesterday I was sitting in front of a veteran flame effigy while waiting for the CoF bridge event to start, just auto attacking it and converting the fire to aegis. So many blocked hits. It didn’t even out-damage healing signet. Vulnerability turns into protection (this is hilarious in WvW), crippled to swiftness I think. Confusion is retaliation iirc, weakness I think is either might or fury. Frost… vigour? Not to mention the additional dodging you can all do due to having a permanent source of vigour in the #5.
I dunno, shout heals do have their uses, but I feel like the recharge wasn’t worth losing the conversions, especially when it comes to avoiding condition damage to begin with, since you get 3 skills slightly slower and 2 way faster ones.
Are the other two champions better hidden or what? I go after the ghost-tree way more than the grub. Also, if people want to shoot the giant bug instead of save your towers, well, that’s really up to them.
I’ve used a very similar build to this, and I always found the warhorn trait better than shout recharge. Though if I needed more stunbreaks (lol graveling pounce-maul) I’d throw in balanced stance instead of on my mark for that area.
I don’t know where I’m going with this, but you sound desperate and I like throwing together random unlikely stuff to see what happens.
They’ve pretty much said exactly that, I was just paraphrasing:
The stats and functionality normally added to gear through upgrade components are actually built into Ascended items. Instead of upgrade slots, Ascended gear has Infusion slots, and rarer versions of the items also come with additional Agony Resistance built into them.
What do you mean ‘become’?
I doubt they’ll add more tiers. The pink stuff sounds like it’s only for über-tier dungeons anyway, with slots for dungeon-specific stuff, and stats as though you’d put an orb in an exotic. So if you would have orbed your exotic gear, then I guess you might use this stuff elsewhere, but for the most part it doesn’t even seem like a ‘real’ tier as much as a highly specialised one.
It’s open on Gunnar’s Hold as of posting. Since there seems to be a thread in desperation for this every week.
Am I the only person who plays thief and warrior and doesn’t think either is OP (besides bugs)? Reading these threads makes me feel unnatural and weird.
Different things to yell would be nice, but for condition removal and healing (rune, trait) it’s kinda useful.
Also regen (which is handy since that line also adds more HP to heal up in the first place).
Well, not all of them are actually going to be ‘new players’, but still.
Also, that’s kind of creepy of you.
I always thought a thief would make the best sniper class because of initiative. It’s perfect for something that does burst damage.
Plus on my warrior, only killshot can match the range of rangers or even engineer grenades. The hell?! Rifles deserve a class that can shoot as far as someone can throw a bloody grenade!
Apparently one of the guardian reflects can be used on graveling breeders in AC to ‘tame’ baby gravelings. /TMYK
But yeah, the warrior one specifically says projectiles, sadly.
Then when he finally come out of stealth i had all of my skill on a sort of global CD (including weapon swap and auto-attack like i was interrupted) he did that several time.
Might be basilisk venom (thief elite). It can get down to a relatively low c/d traited, although it doesn’t really do anything besides what you mentioned.
Charr do have some useful (as far as racials go) utilities in their landmine, hidden pistol, and charrzooka. The big ones do look a bit silly sniping with most weapons though, although the precursor rifle looks pretty big on them and the legionnaire’s rifle is pretty fitting too.
You can make (relatively) small and skinny ones if you use the lowest slider setting and bottom-left body type.
Of course, if being seen is really a consideration for you, it doesn’t get any smaller than asura. But you might not want to spend heaps on good looking gear, because only other asura stand any chance of seeing it.
Show of hands for turning basilisk venom into laser?
Putting gems/runes/whatever into something soulbinds it for whatever reason (not counted if it comes with that inside it, like a ring does).
You know come to think of it, I don’t even want more burst damage from it, most ‘burst’ skills don’t even do much damage to begin with. Killshot and eviscerate would benefit from it… meh to the rest. Hammer’s whole point is CC, sword’s is bleeding/immob, bow’s is sort of a hybrid but doesn’t deal that much directly to begin with, mace is a stun, GS gives redundant fury, underwater weapons do… well who cares, it’s underwater.
Maybe a % of increased adrenaline gain, or better burst recharge, or increased combat movement speed that actually stacks with swiftness. idk… more endurance regen?
Something actually useful.
‘I make a pretty good team’ is self combo I think, unless they can all apply to any combo or something.
Nope. Warriors don’t have any skills that reach 1600 range(r).
Well… the theory is nice, but is this actually more cost effective than just letting them have it and taking it back when they leave? Siege equipment can add up and the upgrade isn’t that expensive.
I have a set of this armour already and I couldn’t buy a single piece with badges lol. All of it from AC and karma.
They give me free siege though, so hey.
Um, yeah, badges already let you buy siege without using gold.
It’s definitely possible, though you have a lower chance using rares than exotics.
It might be specific to certain kinds, I’ve never really tried to replicate it. It just happens when I’m shooting at something and a bunch of people are throwing magic at it.
I’d get motion sick on a swing but even I can roll forward/back underwater with no issues. Maybe you’re just weird.
Intelligence is very hard to test accurately. Asura testing intelligence probably focus on traits valuable to asura, which one can assume charr possess based on both races/cultures having a focus on intricate systems (even if one is mostly machinery and the other mostly magic).
