Is anyone else having a lot of difficulty getting the dailies done?

Hmm, this is easily the easiest of them all to get mate.
several options available to do this one in a jiffy, for dailies and for monthly.

1- DE’s spawn in dungeons to so while doing your dungeon monthly req. you might also get this one done at the same time.

2- WvW spawns a bunch of events at an alarming rate.
defending a keep, storming a keep, taking a supply camp, capping sentry points those are but a few of the ones present in wvw that count towards your daily/ monthly.

3- dragon lieutenants meta events, these will get you there if you do more than one dragon chain.

the mob variety is also very easy to do, just go to queensdale kill some mobs, go to black citadel kill some mobs, go to kessex hills kill some mobs. By now together with all the dungeons and dragon events and WvW you’ve done this far you should have all of those daily/ monthly targets done and taken care off, including the 50 world invaders killed.

Absolutely ludicrous idea !

If you don’t want the XP from crafting because you want to level while playing in PVE zones that’s fine, there are plenty of zones to go to in the different 5 cities and leveling areas of the world.

But, I for one like the idea that no matter what you decide to do you get XP for it, are you gonna also request they remove XP gain from zone discovery and map completion because you wanna only gain XP from killing mobs !

Like I said ridiculous and backwards 90’s style mmorpg idea mate !

If Arenanet were to say something like
“we would love to have X for GW2 in the future”

People would read it as
“We promise you that you will have X in a few days”

So they just keep it for themselves.
Also company are usually secretive to avoid other companies of doing the same, faster than they can do it.

this ^^ right here and it makes total sense
I for one would rather here from them when they have it ready for deployment rather than the in the future line like Stun Wars and many others used to do and never deliver !

that sound is still present mate, only difference is if you are on the whisper tab it doesn’t alert you anymore, but if you switch to guild or other tab the next time you receive a whisper it will alert you again.

the thing is this toon is still easily killable and you can see the move being performed…
a thief does 20k backstab from stealth as in you cannot see it coming…
anyway, if they at least fix the culling in wvw and the stealth capping issue with supply camps it’d be fine.

I mean in sPVP you cannot cap while in stealth why did they allow that to happen in wvw odd isn’t it.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen people dying/complaining about frenzy 100B combo. even than look at the dmg you only took 16K dmg and you died !

come on if you run a pure glass cannon build and die to such a thing don’t complain look at your build 1st I would bet something is horribly wrong with the build !

Also, look at the big picture here for a second.
the only hit that did any decent dmg was the 100B….
after that pure crappy 1k hits.

other classes can pull off those kinds of big numbers from several abilities not just one !

also warriors have to be able to target to do dmg they have little to none AOE capability whatsoever, hammer and longbow have some limited aoe but that is it.

what gwawer says is also true even if you are a decent warrior and take on the challenge of trying to beat them when they see they will lose there’s nothing you can do to stop them from running away using their teleport abilities again due to warriors needing to target to do anything to the opponent.

Force target dropping is our demise in this case.

all other classes can lockdown opponent’s fairly easy while warriors have a hard time at it most of the time, the only hope of a warrior is hammer and having your burst skill of CD and even than it’s almost impossible.

That build lacks tons of survivability and tools, all he has is the kill shot dmg which btw is moronic easy to avoid ! one properly placed backstab and he’s dead.

@4:25 look what happens when he tries his killshot at a properly specced ele all of a sudden only a 9k hit, this should tell you already this build only works on glass cannon builds or lower level opponents.

Don’t go calling NERF before examining and understanding what is going on !
This build is easily beaten by any balanced specced profession, some can even 1 hit kill this kind of build.

So pistol whip, backstab, signets now stealth needs to be nerfed, is there any thing else.

You have 16,000 health… Even my thief has more (21,000).

The thief doing 8000 dmg in one hit has only that one hit. He’s probably a glass cannon, which makes him pretty easy to defeat. My condition thief rarely die, and if I do it’s because I didn’t pay attention to the battlefield and opponents. I eat other thieves for lunch.

what about the screens of 20k and 18k backstab in one hit ?
are you really gonna tell me that’s not broken beyond the realm of normal ?
and let’s not forget these hits are from stealth people !

my warrior’s kill shot hits for 12k if I’m insanely lucky and no one sees the huge kitten telegraph and don’t dodge out of my 2 second cast time on top of the telegraph kneeling move.

Hit them harder I get loot bags from cliff divers all the time, I also take pleasure in smashing people over the side with Kb’s

if this is true than it might be a bug I’m experiencing because I never get the loot or the kill count towards my WvW achievement when my opponent decides to dive and die

You’d be surprised how many people will actually follow you off of a cliff and die as well.

hahahaha I’ve seen this happen so many times, I use cliffs as well and as a warrior they think because I survived the dive they can to so funny when they splat all over the floor :d and you dance on their corpse

if you have done damage to that player you will get loot (if a bag drops) and exp. If a player would rather jump off a cliff and die rather than take any damage from you I think I would LOL

I believe this is an issue that needs addressing,
let’s say you’re fighting someone and simply because they know they will lose the fight they take a dive from the nearest cliff and die, now what happens is you are denied your loot and he avoids repair bills due to no armor break from falling damage.

I believe that if you’re fighting someone and he decides to take a dive and die it should still count as a player kill, why ? simple, he wasn’t out of combat fell and died ! NO, he was fighting a player and now that he is losing he wants to cheat you and the systems in place !

Here’s why:
1 – he only dived to avoid the death penalty and save money.
2 – he is trying to cheat the system and deny you your loot.
3 – he is also denying you of you monthly WvW achievement this way.

Thieves need to speak up - stop the uncalled for nerfs!

Culling is a part of the problem but, stealth needs to be reworked as there really is no true counter to it.

sure you picked the one example that I did not mean for the revival while in stealth because it is convenient for you I take it you’re a thief lol !

reviving a target while in stealth is not just about the target you are fighting !

finishing in stealth is also not about balance is about how broken and moronic that idea is ! You assume and presume to much in your statement about if you lost he deserves the kill LOL.

if I’m facing someone and he goes in stealth and than when he starts the finisher comes out of stealth I’d be fine with it !

As long as any interaction adversely to other players breaks stealth all is fine, it’s the go in stealth and do whatever you want with no way to stop you unless I have 15 friends with me part I have issues with.

while in stealth you shouldn’t be able to prevent capping this would take care of mechanics exploits in W v W and sPVP specially supply camp cap prevention by a single player in stealth taking advantage of culling bug to perma stealth

while in stealth you cannot perform finisher this is so OP it’s ridiculous it’s still in the game finish from stealth ? what moron was it that thought that this would be balanced? fire that dev right now !

Ressing from stealth, sure you can start the res from stealth but should become visible 1 second afterwards. otherwise how cozy is it to revive while no one is aware of you at all huh ?and I’m not only talking about the target you’re currently fighting so don’t even bother using that as an example it’s obvious that if I see my current target’s HP suddenly going up even if I see no one I’d know there was a thief there !

Here’s an idea A.net, if culling and stealth mechanics cannot be solved you need to introduce stealth detection skills and problem solved

Extra: backstabbing from stealth is fine as long as the CD for going back into stealth is increased to prevent permanent going in and out of stealth without consequences, out of combat stealth CD can remain the same in combat CD a lot longer !

I mean seriously, stealth is a means of escape not a freaking do it all ability even SWTOR as bad as it is understood this concept and you cannot cap or attack while in stealth the moment you do you come out of stealth.

A.net should know that stealth is always one of the most OP skills in all mmorpg’s!
doing anything that adversely affects other players should end stealth in order to keep things balanced.

I hope to see some warrior buffs and major bug fixes, culling issue resolved so thieves stop exploiting it to permastealth or temporary nerf to their stealth mechanics till culling in W v W is resolved.

Mesmer stealth in W v W same issue with culling still not as bad as thieves but still annoying though !

Other classes, don’t really care I mainly play warrior and almost all classes are balanced.

My only gripe with thieves is because of the culling issue in W v W making them perma stealth, you can get hit by 2 back stabs before you can actually see the thief, and just when you see him poof back to stealth.
it took 10 players bursting AOE and chasing him down to be able to kill him and finally get the supply camp cap meter going again.

For strategy purposes I believe death in w.v.w should work slightly different than other parts of the game, let me explain:

information is vital in such a large battlefield

imagine you’re a lookout left behind to provide on the fly enemy information
things like enemy zerg size and composition, do they have siege equipment or not etc.
now the enemy has been clever enough to hide the larger part of their forces from you and jump you from behind and kill you
, now this is the part that needs changing after you die you can still relay information to your team, the fact that the enemy chose to hide their forces from you, kill you 1st and than move in becomes irrelevant.

My proposition
make it so that when you kill an enemy you can than proceed to execute a forced respawn on them, that way after they die they can no longer provide enemy information to their team.

Or, make it so that chat is disabled and the screen goes black or changes into an underworld look instead of still being able to see enemy troops and numbers

This way keeping yourself alive becomes more relevant and at the same time makes it relevant for the enemy to kill you quickly and stop the information lines from flowing.

You can only provide information about what you witnessed while you were alive just like in a real battlefield.

Once you die why should you still be able to provide enemy intel that doesn’t make any sense now does it ?

This I believe would make a huge impact to tactics for world v world.
some of you will agree some will disagree but I believe the majority will agree.
feel free to add more options or ideas that arena.net can implement.

Gw2 stealth mechanics are even more annoying that other previous mmorpg’s let me clarify:

in other games stealth is permanent till you are in combat, once in combat you cannot stealth at all or you have 1 emergency 5 second stealth.

in gw2 you can keep popping in and out of stealth at will every so many seconds
this stealth mechanic is even worse than permanent stealth not to mention that with the low CD and traits to extend it you could potentially remain in stealth almost indefinitely !

What is the point in having separate region servers if US times are gonna be used for EU servers anyway ?

I asked for this feature to be added to the game since closed beta still nothing, even crappy swtor allows you to bind specific functions to your mouse wheel up / down.
we shouldn’t need to use 3rd party software to accomplish this simple task and doing so risk getting banned for it.

Tha CoE Azura Boss before last is not that hard !

all you have to do is watch for the start of the animation and dodge at the appropriate time, I mean come on you learned about a similar tactic in Ascalon Catacombs Explore mode fighting Lieutenant Kohler. It just so happens that this Azura Boss is a bit less forgiving at least in AC if you missed a dodge you might still live.

They’re unable to script a fight properly, or they don’t want to because it might discourage all the little kids playing this game, so instead they give really high HP to some mobs and called them “bosses”. But anyone who played a real MMORPG knows perfectly well that those “bosses” are a total joke.

Hey matey, there is no such a thing as ‘you are playing it wrong’.

There are no wrong ways to play, only different ways.

If you’re taking 2+ hours for a dungeon you are playing it wrong there’s no room there for “play the way you want to play it” mate, that saying is meant for general PVE environment NOT for dungeons.

People said, CoF path 3 was hard !
- no it’s not, it just requires a bit more coordination than others so people avoid it.

people said AC path 3 was hard !
- no it’s not, again more coordination needed for the borrows room with the collectors.

people said CoE (can’t remember the path) was hard !
- no it’s not learn the AoE patterns and when to dodge them or not, again more coordination is required for this path !

Are you starting to see the pattern here ?
Not all dungeon paths are the same easy going plow through everything in minutes and that is fine.

My favorite dungeon Boss right now is subject alpha.

People complain about him all the time, they complain about the HP, they complain about the insane AoE abilities yet to me that is a masterpiece of a Boss, hard enough to put you on edge and perform to the best of your abilities but not insanely hard that cannot be done at all.

“TL;DR: Dungeons are becoming easier and easier the more people learn how to play. This is a serious L2P issue. I don’t necessarily mean it in a bad way, but bads will be bads.”

I keep seeing this, And no one explains what they mean, So until you clarify, you dont really hold any water. What is the effective way to do a dungeon, what do you need, what stats are important, what types of skills, etc.

What many mean by this is:
- Don’t be a 1 trick pony build a balanced character.
- bring support skills to help your teammates.
- bring more than just 1 set of weapons with you, NOT just your shiny great sword.
- depending on the dungeon you’re running at least get some decent rare armor.
- equip at least a major rune set that matches the roles you wish to play.
- diversify your team DON’T bring 5 of X class to a dungeon, it can be done but makes it even harder and requires more skill play, if you’re struggling DON’T do it.

These are just a few things that come to mind when talking about PUG’s and what they lack from what I’ve experienced.

This is gone to the extreme point that most in my guild refuse to join me for dungeons when I say “It’s a PUG group though” than you hear the polite “thank you but NO thank you” and it’s a shame because not all PUG’s are bad occasionally I’ve found some that are actually very good players.

Also worth mentioning is that in most cases when I run a semi PUG the pug players end up stating what a difference it makes to run dungeons with people that know how to play together, and that they have been trying to get that dungeon done for hours without any luck because the groups keep wiping or it takes more than 2-3 hours to get 1 path done.

They start asking how we can manage to do it in 30 minutes even though it’s not a full guild group and the inevitable “can I join your guild question is popped”

The answer may sound to them like we’re teasing or making fun of them or something but it is honest advice learn to play the game and your class they way it’s meant to be played.

Also these forums have a TON of great information and advice on how to documents for classes and dungeons.

Look at the difference of HP for bosses in AC exp and Arah exp. In AC it only takes a minute or two to kill, whereas in Arah it takes 20 kitten minutes!

They NEED to fix this!

It is also the last dungeon in the game it’s meant to be hard, the most valuable cores and lodestones drop from this dungeon as well which is why most people want to run it even if they are not properly prepared for it. Asking for it to be made easier is not exactly what is needed just fix the bugs and Arah is a fine dungeon.

I run semi PUG or full guild, even with semi PUG it is easy to do dungeons.
I do agree however that running with a complete PUG is hard mainly because many of these PUG players are not exactly mmorpg players.

and yet mana management is yet another lame archaic time wasting strategy designed to slow down the fights and it’s another money think.

Bosses are not that hard in this game, if you play it properly !
most dungeons except for certain paths in Arah and CoE can be done in less than 30 minutes.

Leutenant mobs go down in seconds.
champions go down in mere minutes.
legendary Bosses can be taken down in 10-15 minutes or so.

If anything I’d say the Bosses HP seems to large only when playing the game the wrong way.

I used to think the same as you lot, till I started to adapt to how this game is meant to played and stopped trying to play it like a traditional mmorpg.

I agree that the Zhaitan fight is disappointing but to put that crappy wow Boss fight as an example of a good one is even worse !

The Zhaitan story is great, people are just complaining about the fight itself !

I was hoping to pound him to the ground myself with my own power, not using a cannon and pew pew peck him to death, you can’t even see damage numbers at all feels kind of not epic and he’s to small for an elder dragon.

I’ve said it before, we’re -never- going to get to fight an elder dragon under our own power. Zhaitan’s just too kitten big to care about us, and they only get bigger from here on out. And it’s not just the fight that people are complaining about, it’s the whole presentation surrounding him. Zhaitan doesn’t show up at all until the last 20 minutes of the game, there’s no buildup of tension or sense of awe, no looming sense of “oh sweet crunchy christ we’re actually going to fight that immense monstrosity we saw back there. How can we even do anything to him, he nuked a whole mountainside with a wingbeat and gave no craps about all our strongest artillery.” Or something like that.

Also FYI, your fanboy is showing.

Zhaitan showing up in the last 20 minutes is indeed a problem, also his size was a letdown he looks about the same size as his lieutenant big disappointment there.

even subject alpha which is a mere dungeon boss has to be fought 3 times and he keeps retreating. It takes a lot more skill and coordination not to mention a lot longer to kill subject alpha than it takes to kill Zhaitan.

It feels like Zhaitan was rushed out the door for release.

How about this, the fight against X new elder dragon begins outside his body and transitions into an inside the elder dragon’s body dungeon style run to locate his weakness (his heart) destroying his heart weakens him enough to fight and kill him from the outside, once outside destroy his wings so he can’t fly away and continue to destroy him until his head is cut off.

And please don’t even think about taking the stupid deathwing route wacking at a dragon’s paw is not gonna kill him in a 1000 years.

Mystic forge armor recipes ?

How come there are no mystic forge exotic armor recipes ?
or is it that they just haven’t been discovered yet ?

This would go a long way to give us more rare armor variety, if not present in the game yet I make a motion for adding exotic armor recipes to the forge

1- Karma & Token gear vendors:

You should add a 5 minute timer to gear acquired from karma and token vendors throughout the game, so that if you happen to buy the wrong thing you can return it right away for a full karma / token refund.

2- Friends list:

The friends list does not show the class of the character currently online, this is extremely annoying specially when trying to setup dungeon runs and you want someone with say an Elementalist to join the group, sure you can run dungeons with any class but it makes it far more efficient and smooth to have a certain team composition, specially when it is the only way to get around bugged pieces of certain dungeons !

3- allow us to dye weapons please with the dyes we already have.

4- CS item: Experience orb

You buy it, equip it on a character, x% of experience earned by that character is stored into the orb once full it can be given to other characters on your account (account bound item) I like other classes but playing from lv 1 all over again is boring as hell to me, I keep thinking I could just as well be playing my lv80 character right now, this might be the only way I will ever have several lv80 characters, this is an item I would gladly pay for.
