I was clear in my post. I’m adapting to the GW2 controls. It’s part of game originality, and it’s fine for me. Am I asking too much to have an option to rotate the camera if my pointer is on the screen border? Latinkuro, are you sure features like that will screw up the game-play of GW2?

That feature you’re asking for reminds of a Mac computer afterwards I’d always say gosh why doesn’t windows have this feature ?

(for those that don’t know Mac computers have a feature that you can set so that if you drag the mouse to the desired corner of the screen it will perform the action desired for example display all my open windows at the same time you choose one and that one is maximized for you)

This feature of yours is already in the game you can set a key-bind to look directly behind you if you wish to but rotating the camera freely is done manually for a reason it has to do with positioning and availability of fingers for attacking, defending purposes.

We really need a decent, measurable, critically important reason to become more powerful.

Yeah, I’m also against world PvP. I don’t like PvP. I’m not interested in PvP. I find PvP in any form in an MMO to be a general waste of time. If I want to kill other players, I’ll go play an FPS online. I play MMO’s for the story, for questing and for exploring. So the ability to ignore PvP and enjoy the rest of the game is a godsend.

You sound like me 5 years ago
Now I cannot live without PVP, one thing I miss from it is the adrenaline rush and the tension it used to give me when I started doing PVP, after every match my hands used to keep shaking from all the adrenaline and my heartbeat would go through the roof, now a days it’s still fun but nowhere near that level of excitement.

No it’s not lost it will just stack of course but,
I’d rather have it bash you in the face for 5-7k damage.

Also I feel like the mending healing ability works kind of backwards, it should remove conditions 1st than heal you not the other way around otherwise what’s the point.

Not 100% sure about this mending issue it just feels like it heals 1st and removes conditions after.

I tried RaiderZ back in alpha it was not for me, did submit some suggestions hope they changed it a lot from what it was in alpha. plus I don’t trust them anymore I got in to forsaken world beta and played all the way to release they promised a bunch of stuff and didn’t deliver a few months after the P2W CS and the must buy items started to creep in that’s when I decided I’ve had enough of them as a company. Sooner or later all their games become P2W as of late more sooner than you’d expect so if I were you I’d be careful with RaiderZ !

The reverse is also true for them, if they spec in CC heavy they will also lack in a lot of things now finding what to hit them with is the key in this case. also teamwork can help with this issue I haven’t encountered such CC issues as of yet in this game and I’ve been playing since beta.

The function is present just like in GW1. Now when you start with LFG space and AC or whatever dungeon it is you want to run it will place an icon on your head that means you are looking for group, it will also place you on a list designed for that specific reason press Y and go to the looking for group tab you can see who is looking for group and who wants to join you for that dungeon as well. when you don’t wish to be looking for group anymore simply change the status at the top to online instead of LFG.

Not trying to save face or anything of a sort, I never said you had to be 80 to display the guild logo you did that yourself !

just saying that, that is how they designed it to be, a privilege item, when I was lv 30 I so wanted to buy it but couldn’t because of the cost…. it took me 20 more levels to have a surplus of cash to actually afford it. It is also the reason I said it should cost karma even if they make it cost like 8k karma.

I don’t mind seeing them get slaughtered well actually I do but in the sense of I will help you survive if I can but to be honest right now not doing much of WvW at all and most on my server are not really into it at the moment but, beware most are just waiting to hit 80 to join the ranks of the mist wars than it will be a whole new ballgame.

The general idea for WvW was that you could go there from lv1 and stay there, as it is right now most of the people in WvW are already lv80 or close to it, if you go there at to low a level you’re just lambs for the slaughter.

In my guild we have a pretty good community very helpful very decent very communicative we help each other a lot I haven’t had that since back in Perfect World International before it became the P2W piece of bleep it is today.

You do realise it grants 3 seconds of Fury for each block of Adrenaline right?
The F1 for the GS isn’t about the initial damage, you get 9seconds of 20% additional crit.

that’s not really useful to a warrior….we have the rage elite signet that grants us fury, might and swiftness for 30 seconds I’d rather have the damage component raised a notch or two to around 5k damage or so just a bit less than the rifle one, though I think that if a rifle can do that much damage a huge blade to your face should do even more damage.

Use the scamming option not the spamming option, if you report spamming it could be anything from WTB WTT WTS spamming to gold selling if you use scamming it’s closer to the gold selling issue than spamming, I use scamming and a few hours after that he is no more, sometimes even less than a few hours.

What if they made the trial cost money? It could be cheap like $3 and last a couple days or until X level in PvE. I would try that.

That’s actually a good idea a small fee for a trial account and since the game does not feature a sub it’s brilliant mate. I do remember a game that did that can’t remember the name though it was many years ago.

I kind of see your point but CC’s in this game are very short in duration.
I think that if you see that the team meta strategy is to chain CC, you can counter by equipping builds specifically designed to deal with multiple CC’s and even shorten their already short duration.

Also this is not Stun Wars where you could literally CC someone to death for minutes at a time.

In that game that diminishing returns system was so badly exploited it might as well not even be present, so a diminishing returns system does not solve the problem I think Arena.net took the best option, make CC’s short duration and have builds specific to counter CC heavy groups.

As far as transmuting the same thing over and over again, better hope you have it on the coolest looking item all ready I guess?

Trust me you will get enough transmutation stones from black lion chests in the game world I’ve got 15 fine transmutations stones left haven’t payed for a single one of them ever, and no I didn’t buy the black lion chest key either I got it as a drop in game world to.

That`s kind of messed up. That is like you are saying because they aren`t lvl 80 they aren`t worthy of wearing your emblem? In the original game everyone got a cape when they joined a guild if the guild leader had the money to design and purchase the cape. Why should it be any different here?

NO, not saying you have to be lv 80 to display the emblem that’d be silly, I got mine at lv 50 together with weapon emblem, what I’m saying is you should be at least lv 50-60 ish. This way you don’t feel the load of the money and you are actually a viable character in current WvW mechanics.

Also at 1st I did question the system because I come from GW1 and there you get a cape the moment you join the guild. Now I’m loving this new emblem on armor system so much I don’t care about the cloaks anymore though I wouldn’t mind having one

And that is exactly what they did so your point is mute and nullified !

- open world PVP is a flawed and archaic form of PVP that has killed many good or at least promising mmorpg’s in the last 5 years…!

- The main issues with open world pvp are the ganking and griefing both of which arena.net has eliminated.

- if you want to gank you can still kind of do that in WvW but you won’t be able to grief anyone LOL !

I’m glad Arena.net recognized this and decided to improve and present us with something if not original at least refreshing.

Something like steam’s security where you get sent an e-mail with a code to “unlock” a new IP would be enough.

There is already such a feature, whenever you try and log-in from an unknown IP address it will sent you an email and you have to click on the included link to authorize the log-in attempt before the client allows the log-in.

That said, I would pay for a GW2 dragon logo style authenticator.

I love the Skritt voices too!

I would make a Skritt any day over the creepy/disembodied Asura.

I like the Asura’s way of looking down on people kind of mentality and the way they speak but they look to creepy for my taste

the silvary creep me out as well !

The norn are just over sized humans and they give the impression of moving slower than humans, and the females have to much muscle for my taste !

The charr are ugly and I hated them to much in GW1 to play one now as a character !

So yes all my character slots are filled with humans if I want to experience the other races story lines I’ll just join someone else’s.

I’m not saying they won’t have a trial period, I’m saying I wouldn’t want them to but let’s be honest they will at some point just right now it would be a silly idea for them to do so with such high demands for the game and all.

Also, the trials do need to be restricted in certain ways indeed like Wraith said,
- no world versus world access at peak times to ensure paying customer do get access.
- limited trading post access to prevent screwing up the economy.
- no whisper available only the open channel chats like say, map and all those.

This might be a good idea if it was a sub based game….!

but when you go to the store and buy a console game do you ask them to let you play it for a week before you buy it ? of course not because you only pay for the box and that’s it, guess what same thing applies here to, this is NOT a sub based game. plus demand is pretty high right now why would they even do a trial right now, it’d be a silly move on their part.

If your friends really just want to try it out than make a new character and let them play a little bit I’m sure they will buy it after 15 minutes of play time anyway.

Hmm not worrying what others do is not exactly right either, see if you’re running a dungeon you kinda have to worry about others in terms of positioning, target priority, target switching, role switching, communication and more.

But what he wants is just the kind of worry we don’t need to happen in a dungeon.
he wants to judge how good or bad someone is doing by how much damage they are doing which is just a bad example in GW2 if you’re just putting out tons of damage you’re playing it wrong anyway !! so NO to parser and no to the ability to see how much damage others are doing.

some of it is easy to find, some of it is pretty cryptic and some of it requires at least a bit of knowledge about Guild Wars 1 universe, there’s also the pieces of lore written in new krytan language with hints about people in history and sometimes they even contain clues as to where to find certain lore related things.

Well, something similar to this but having them behave more like collectibles that would fill out a codex. Sort of like a menu you could go through and read at your leisure.

It’s a nice idea but kind of reminds of swtor’s codex bad memories I wouldn’t want something like that in GW2 to be honest it was a pain in swtor itself.

But I’m open to suggestions there might be a way to implement it without making it mandatory or grindy.

The heart quest system does feel rather sparse.

The event system is basically a copy of the Rift event system, just that Arena did a better job, its the same basic thing. It also has the same basic problem: a mass swarm of players that totally destroy any sense of immersion or challenge.

Having a bit more to do would be nice for sure. I like the quest system over all, it just needs a lot more variety. Right now its extremely limited and repetitive.

One thing they did right though, is the way you can just wander around and find it fun and profitable. I don’t want that to change, I just like how other MMOs had a lot more quests, lore, and story.

The only mmo that can even come close to having as much lore and quests as GW2 is WoW no other mmorpg has as muich lore or quests LOL, there are 1600 dynamic events in this game do you seriously think we’ve seen them all in 3 weeks ? Don’t just go from heart to heart thinking those are quest hubs or whatever, they were only put in place to help you to get you to explore.

Most people run off to the next heart missing out on a ton of content. I’m lv60 and have yet to see 80% of the DE’s out there in the game, I haven’t even faced the shatterer or tequatel yet.

I hope in the near future they decide to take those stupid hearts out they do more harm than good, case and point people think those are the bulk of the content in GW2 what a pity, stop thinking like an automaton get out of the linear mindset that has been imposed on you for 7 years and explore !

originally there were going to be no hearts. They gust added them to give new players a sense of direction. You’re meant to run around have fun exploring crafting taking part in events that happen as you go.

Couldn’t have said it better myself, hearts are only an incentive to go exploring but are by no means the bulk of content in the game, also when you finish a DE stick around follow the main DE NPC it will lead to better DE’s and surprises far to many people finish an event and run off.

Also seriously do NOT compare DE’s to a crappy Rift invasion please !
I played rift and an invasion is a farcry from a Dynamic Event !!!!

A rift invasion does not care if you participate or not it has no impact on the world and it has no failure / success state also it does not have branches in it where a number of things can happen depending on what you did in the previous event or if you failed it !!!!

jajaja this is so funny, so you want to play a brainless race, so funny they are intelligent only when there are a ton of them together, as an NPC race they are funny as a playable race not so much, I’d rather see the barbaric style Jotun or even the Kodan would also make a much better choice for a playable race in an expansion.

I agree with this, the damage is crappy and the animation takes a bit to long to end so it leaves you wide open for retaliation, no reason at all to use it.

The game is what 3 weeks old now, I wanna hear you say you’re winning by clicking when the game is a couple of months old jajajajaja

I used to click in Rift in PVP at 1st when the game just came out and sure I won many battles, than a couple of months after that when everyone knew how to play their classes I was getting stomped pretty hard till I started using keybindings and my reaction time was on par with the rest.

Ok we got way off topic on this one
it was about a clicker wanting the game adjusted for that play style instead of learning to up his game a notch.

Oh yeah he wanted click to move and auto path to location, ludicrous !
This is NOT some cheap, poorly made, lazyman’s, unbalanced, low quality, crappy, f2p game made by some money hungry, P2W cash shop building company like Perfect World,

All their games have auto path and click to move !
There you go, go play one of those and GL.

Guild Wars 2 is perfectly fine without those stupid features thank you !

Else you’re just leveling to level so you can level so you can level.

With the down-leveling system in place, what better mmo in existence is there to randomly run into “enemy” players while out questing? The high levels are brought down to your level!

Here’s my idea.

1. Group all the servers into pairs, or just keep the trio system from WvW.
2. Players can transport to the other servers in their pair or trio at will.
3. Put one (at least) capture-able thing in each zone. An outpost or fortress or whatever. The lore doesn’t matter just some “thing” that can be captured in each zone.
4. Make these things MATTER! The players have to SERIOUSLY be disappointed for each of these things their server loses to an enemy server, and seriously excited for each of them their server has captured in enemy servers. (noticeable xp boosts or crafting boosts or whatever, it just has to be more than negligible. By FAR.)
5. Maybe you stay in your server and explore in semi-safety. Maybe you stay in an enemy server and explore in danger! (WHOO HOO!)
6. The higher the level zone the more players want to help out in that zone. Maybe there are better rewards, more things to capture, I’m not sure, but now you have a reason to level and you have fun doing it.

I’d pay you $15 a month to play on a server like that.

It’s an interesting idea for sure, but sorry NO thank you !

the game is perfect the way it is, without open world PVP messing with the PVE world.
If I want the excitement of PVP I’ll join the Mist Wars, when I’m tired of PVP I can go back to the PVE world and not worry about invaders from far away lands, just the way it should be.

What he ^ said, we don’t need you telling party members they are not doing enough damage or whatever, and than requesting kick from party, this is not XoX mmorpg where damage is all mighty important, sometimes controlling, interrupting, delaying an opponent is far more useful to a group than straight out damage.

for the after combat parse I think that is present already, there’s a combat log besides the chat log, you might be able to use that for that purpose.

Well yes they kind of are, but for example my Jotun great sword is not that hard to find actually, and it’s a lv25 sword I just transmuted the skin on to my lv60 sword cause it looks cooler than the original one

The only winning clicker is a clicker that is up against another clicker.

The moment a clicker tries to beat a key-binder or macro junkie, his reaction times are gonna be so slow it’s not even gonna be a challenge to slaughter him.

This is already in the game, I got a Jotun great sword with icy effects.
I’ve seen fiery great swords as well, though no idea where to get one, also
there’s the HoM fiery dragon sword heritage sword from Guild Wars 1.

of course it’s not like all the weapons have this effect and most prominently you will see these effects on legendary weapons.

Rift public groups were a step in the right direction but far from the desired feature.
Gw2 style is much better, just show up and participate, so NO, I don’t think adding this makes any sense at all, except if you want raiding which is also a NO thank you !

I was a clicker until I picked up a Razer Naga. Give it a shot if you’ve got the cash, it’s a fantastic mouse, especially for GW2. It takes a bit to get used to, but most new Naga users see adaptation in less than a week. I was set in a couple days.

The Razer Nostromo looks like a great option too. I thought about grabbing one soon because I’m so used to d-pad movement (I started PC gaming with UT and stuck with d-pad ever since) and the Nostromo setup doesn’t seem much different than that.

The Naga is an amazing piece of hardware,
for all other mmorpg’s except for Guild Wars 2 (imo)
see it has to many buttons, if you were playing WoW or Rift or SWTOR it’s fine but it’s a waste of money (imo) to buy it just for Guild Wars 2 you won’t use all those buttons.

I see no issue with this. It’s pretty much the same system that they had in GW1.

Have you even played GW1 ?

if you did you wouldn’t even say that and embarrass yourself like this, in GW1 there was no trading post at all, there was direct trading and you could list your item in party search, but you had to be online all the time for that you couldn’t leave that outpost at all till it sells or you give up.

1. Special recipes drop while adventuring
2. Research via story lines to discover the items for the recipes
3. Finally these items demand questing with a group and doing dungeons

1- NO discovery works wonders already, making recipes drop from adventuring just makes for more grind.

2- NO it would force people to do certain story lines, the game is all about play the way you want not forcing me to do stuff I don’t want.

1. Eliminate the Trading Post.
2. Allow trades via mail and in person.
3. Allow players to setup shops when they are off-line.
4. Make drops guaranteed for items that come from creatures.
5. Reduce the items required to level.
6. Transform high level crafting into a more interesting crafting system.

1- Eliminating the trading post is a ludicrous idea mate it is one of the most unique and best features of GW2, where else besides EVE have you seen a global trading post ? with buy and sell orders ?

2- direct player trading ? seriously you totally bit your own tongue here mate, you want to eliminate gold sellers yet you want to arm them with an M-16 rifle ?
direct player trading undermines the market big time guess what those high demand items you’re after without the trading post the price would go up exponentially.

3- this one is also ridiculous, I remember a game called Perfect World International
it had offline player shops in towns, boy was that a mess all major cities littered with shops all over the place it was like moths to flame, you couldn’t get more than 10fps in any town
it looks more like a beggars market than a city.

4- you can use magic find upgrades to up your chances of that fang dropping by as much as 30% or 50% even with the trading post version of magic boost.

5- hmm I don’ know how I feel about this one, maybe lower the amount of creatures parts required, to reduce the grind.

6- No idea what you want but isn’t it there already ? for example to make legendary weapons you need 400 weapon-smith, there is your more interesting crafting right there legendary weapons and armor.

There are options:
Let me see if I can explain this properly,
1- you can hold click both left and right click to move forward.
2- you can turn on auto run by pressing R
3- set strafing to A and D and hold right click and drag to turn your character and the camera at the same time, in this scenario you want to press the strafe button with your ring finger and use the index and middle finger to attack and your thumb to dodge V and jump SPACE., bind keys 6-10 to closer keys for access, you want to avoid having to move your hand around to the 6-10 keys and having to look at your keyboard to do so.

Ultimately you have to bind your keys the way they feel the most natural and efficient to you personally though.

It is by far one of the most difficult things to do, adapt to a new control scheme and in some cases it takes weeks to get the muscle memory in place to use it properly without getting lost.

One common mistake is to bind the keys and keep rebinding them all the time, you should think, come up with several possible schemes, test them out pick one and stick with that one for at least 2-3 weeks, after this much time you might want to tweak it around a bit to soften up the rough edges but do not make drastic changes to it.

Your key-bind scheme is ready for action when you no longer need to think or look at your keyboard to know where and what that key does, it is engraved in your muscle memory just like when you write you don’t really think about it you just do.

Or you can do what I and others have done, I’m a console player at heart so I got myself a Nostromo!

This makes it so much simpler I use my thumb (as it should be) for movement and the rest feels natural like you wouldn’t believe.

Well I would guide any player that is transitioning from clicking to using key binds to go out and buy some hardware that will improve you gaming experience. There are several gamepads and mice that are designed for games such as GW2. I for example can never go back to using the WSAD format for movement. On my G13 I am able to move my character with a thumb stick. 3 fingers to do movement (WSAD) have now been moved to my thumb. This makes hitting hotkeys very easy.

ATM the only types of macros I have considered for GW2 is…
Elementalist…
Going from non-earth attunment to earth attunment and putting up range dmg reflect skill. Turn this into 1 key instead of 2 keys…
For me… there is no reason to go beyond this ATM

Yeah i know how you feel, I have the Nostromo for the same issue
my movement is now moved to my thumb and the only macros I have are F action and T Targer assist merged into one button, and dodge jump just because it looks so cool jajajajaja.
