The earliest you can get a greatsword is at lv5 crafted or drop.
If you call Warrior OP in PVE don’t even bother trying a guardian I did and it was face roll easy, doing lv16 story while I myself was barely lv7 fighting multiple mobs including elites and winning, this was b4 the nerf to retaliation and the overall GS nerfs.
The kind of stuff I could pull off with a guardian in PVE I could never pull them off with my warrior ever !
so the nerf to GS was well deserved.
Even after GS nerfs I still find the class face roll easy in PVE !

Yes but we do not yet know if the armor can be runed or not so that 8% right now doesn’t mean much.
if ascended armor can be runed: yes it makes a difference in WvW and everyone will pick ascended armor if you wanna win.
if ascended armor cannot be runed: everyone will notice sticking with exotics is far better albeit the 8% more stats, losing the runes would be a bigger disadvantage for almost all classes.
You talk about skillful players being removed because of the new gear, well I hate to break it to you but skillful players are the 1st bunch of players that don’t give it a 2nd thought and are happy for the new gear, almost all skillful players have a closet full of exotic gear and weapons covering all possible builds for their profession to choose from already.
Did they break their word?
imo NO they didn’t, nothing stronger or shinier than legendary quality was introduced.
Did they work around their word ?
Yes they did, and it’s fine because most players were bored and had nothing to do except for legendary hunting which does take ages to get by yourself.
I welcome this new step in-between exotics and legendary.
You forget, they did clarify that legendary is and always will be the highest most powerful item class in the game, if you have a legendary and ascended weapons are introduced your legendary takes on the max stats of an ascended weapon till they finalize legendary stats for good.
I use powerful here conservatively though because let’s face it legendaries are all about the shiny
PVE Warrior: unquestionably the best and most balanced pve class in the game.
PVP Warrior: Nobody plays one, lacks survivability (go figure) and oh crap moment abilities, no clear role in pvp and all professions can do everything better than a warrior.
PVE Mesmer: difficult to play AI always knows which is the real you very squishy.
PVP Mesmer: easy I win abilities and tons of oh crap moment abilities no one really knows which is the real you, tons of survivability (go figure)

Interesting you say that. 450 hours on my warrior. I’ve tried each of the other classes at least to level 16 and got bored and deleted them.
470 hours on my warrior, I tried other classes and got bored to death they are either to slow or to squishy.
In every other mmo I always used to pick magician/elementalist but with this game I fell in love with warriors for the 1st time ever, I think what did it for me was the melee / ranged combination coupled with multiple weapons
Elementalists can also take them on and pawn them good.

Just an observation:
Thieves are undoubtedly the most hated profession in the game currently receiving hate from numerous sources.
Yet the only source not complaining about Thieves are people who actually play PvP competitively (aka. tPvPers). Now you might say it’s because they’re busy complaining about Guardians.
But maybe there’s more to this observation. Maybe Thieves are only the bane of bad players or maybe they’re ability to pray on the unsuspecting is what makes them seem OP.
Just a thought.
In sPVP/tPVP there’s no culling issue.
There’s no capping while in stealth issue.
The 2 main sources of WvW frustration are not present in xPVP !
and even if you get jumped by a thief in xPVP help is always a couple of seconds away.

armor hasn’t been seen or added to the game yet, only accessories and those do not use sigils or runes but, if I had to guess I would go with yes they would it only makes sense.
I don’t mind the new gear and all, but to avoid all the QQing and all the raging why not make the stats the same as exotics and the only difference is that infusion slot.
again I don’t mind the new gear type at all, just saying so many childish QQing and whining could have been avoided this way.
Skill capturing is the only idea I do not agree with, it was great in GW1, but doesn’t have a place in GW2 at all, as more skills are introduced it becomes a very bad thing for players that are just starting in the game and know nothing about these skills.
Example, Gw1 I started playing not so long ago maybe a year and the sheer number of skills I didn’t have was a turn off from the game, not to mention some of those skills were absolutely necessary to clear certain area or bosses.
Sure but also remove the ability for every class in the game who can either stealth / invuln or stability stomp.
Hint: Every single class has one of these methods. (maybe not necros, dunno never played necro).
Necros can gain stability from death shroud, immediately leave it, and stomp an enemy, though it requires a grandmaster trait. Not sure if they have another way.

on the other hand only a few classes have stealth, and the only one that is broken as hell is the thief.
The thief has been a problematic profession from the very start, they should’ve scrapped it and come up with something new and original. Stealth/rogue classes are always a pain to balance and it’s the class that is always picked by the ones that think or want to feel elite to grief and harass people.

I believe the Nov. 15th patch will make thieves and mesmers in WvW very miserable simply because they will have to compete on even terms with everyone else.
No more infinite portal transport, no more bypassing keep defenses with your little portals even when out of LoS, no more perma stealth, no more capping while in stealth.
Now if they can also just fix the culling problem.
Thieves are not OP at all, you can’t kill them because the player is to skillful for you !
Thief players are to skillful, they don’t need to exploit game mechanics to win !
Thieves will never run from a battle like a yellow chicken even if they are losing !

I noticed on the latest blog about the new update that under the infusions there was an infusion labeled as:
“Unused Defensive Infusion Slot”
This seems to me that the piece of armor in question is used for a “tank” role as it can not be made to hold any other infusions.
Does this mean we are going to see a move towards the traditional Tank, Healer and DPS roles from other MMOs?
I personally don’t think this is a good idea, the basic premise of this game was “play as you want” so that there would be no set roles. Has that changed?

- off. infusion slot upgrades.
-omni infusion slot upgrades, which can be added to any kind of infusion slot !

I just thought it was an interesting point to bring to the table.
Fractal of the Mists is an infinite never ending dungeon that becomes more difficult with better rewards the deeper in you progress.
Sounds an awful lot like raiding, and here follows why.
Translation:
Nov 15th 3 pieces of ascended gear, agony mechanic and infusion slots are introduced, essentially limiting how far down in difficulty you can go, Welcome to T1 raiding.
Dec. 2 more pieces of ascended gear are introduced enabling players to add more agony protection and by definition allowing you to go deeper into the dungeon in difficulty and as such reap better rewards, welcome to T2 raiding.
Every month or two, 1 or 2 new pieces of ascended gear are introduced, welcome to T3-T6 raiding.
couple of months later, new dungeon with new mechanics rinse and repeat above steps, welcome to Guild Wars version of Raid progression.
It is for sure an interesting Raid concept, I’ve never been a Raider before but this sounds much better than any raiding I’ve ever heard of before.

Easy double click your EotN inventory item problem solved no logout no dying it’s an instanced area only for you. when you comeback double click it again and it teleports you to the spot you were before.
Warning: only Gw1 HoM players have this item.
It’s been brought up before, and I think its right to bring it up again.
With the coming of the new Ascended gear, that has a real effect on how a player performs in end gae content, Guild Wars 2 needs the ability to inspect other players gear added sorely.
Players will want to know if a player they are adding to thier team is equipped well enough for the run planned through FotM. It will avoid situations where players mislead and waste people’s time. A inspect option will make group forming much smoother and better all around!
With Ascended gear being a requirement for deep runs into the FotM for ELITE rewards, an inspect function is a necessity to ensure you are playing with Correctly equipped teamates.
Not needed, though I can see why, still a simple ping your ascended gear in party chat request will suffice.
All I’m saying is, anonymity is a very important very exciting part of WvW Why for the love of G would you want to ruin it. It’s not just the traitor mentally I’m concerned about. Like you said enemies irl abuse each other verbally, that right there is one of the things I do not miss at all, the verbal abuse is already out of hand on your own side if all of a sudden you could speak to the enemy it’d turn into a flame swearing war every time someone loses a duel or is ambushed by a thief the swearing starts. And loads of people will get banned because of it.
So in summary NO we do not need to speak or know who the enemy is.
One other thing, eventually when full ascended armor is introduced it will make exotic dungeon/crafted armor obsolete, this is a big concern. Maybe when they add full ascended armor gear they should also rework all dungeons to include agony mechanics.

I’m a casual player and even I have 4 crafted exotic sets, 1 dungeon armor set, full compliment of exotic weapons usable by my profession, world completion is at 56% only.

Releasing such a big update patch notes together with the update is not good.
if it was a simple weekly patch It’d be fine, but….
5+ pages long of game updates and class balance, specially the class balance and bug fixes are some of the things I would like to read completely before playing the update, in order to adapt my build accordingly, not just playing and finding out that all of a sudden one of the core build abilities has been nerfed to the geound for example.
I say release the patch notes at least 1 day in advance, give us the time to read, understand and adapt our builds and play styles accordingly.
If the introduction of Ascended armor is any indication they would have to increase lv cap for next expansion.
I want more info about these ascended armor sets, are they token based or RNG based drops ?

-vengeance trait
- fast hands trait
- Stability proc from trait
- endure pain proc from trait
- stance duration trait 25% is a joke and doesn’t work Grok krog
- discipline burst dmg component 0.1% per point is a joke needs rework Hobocop
I’d love to see skills for:
- introduction of stealth detection skills (all classes)
- better utility skills or elite skills
- trait lines overall rework to make more builds viable.
- Protection boon access through skills or utilities for warrior Grok Krog
Nerfs I’d like to see:
- mesmer portals specially for WvW.
- bunker builds solution sPVP
- moa elite needs longer cast time for such a powerful skill to be almost instant is overkill.
Mechanics changes I’d like to see:
- point and supply camps capping mechanics rework
- Stealth mechanics rework to perform the way it was intended, (if not stealth detection)
-WvW culling issue.

1 v 1 is all about who is more tanky. In every pvp mmo it has always cae down to that. The tanky guy will in the end wear down the less tanky guy.
Not true sir, damage mitigation skills are king in this game, a skilled mesmer will tear you to threads no matter how tanky you are.
I want to take a moment to discuss the vast discrepancy in base HP between the various professions. At level 80 that would be.
18372 for Warriors and Necromancers
15082 for Engineers, Rangers and Mesmers
10805 for Thieves, Elementalists and Guardians.
And yet 2 of the 3 bunker almost unkillable classes in the game are tada ele’s and guardians followed by mesmer.
So you see higher HP pool doesn’t mean as much as you think it does.
I dont want LFG websites, it’s just not practical. I want a better in game LFG system.
As such, I will not use or endorse any system that is made to replace what should already be in game
This idea is a bad stopgap measure all it does is make what is ingame even harder to do instead of promoting this outside the game tool why not get more people to use the systems in place.

I wish dungeon mobs health was decreased by 30%.
There is no gear grind, therefore, mob health will stay relatively the same.
dungeon mobs die relatively easy already when the people doing the dungeon know what they are doing, but hey I don’t mind it would mean finishing a dungeon like CoF in less than 10 minutes
Skill capturing NO thx. it may fit gw1 style but not gw2, for simple reason it was a prohibitive system, it made my life hell until I could get specific skills that made it so much easier to do a certain task.
gw2 map system is infinitely better than gw1 so NO thax, gw2 map system is ions ahead of anything gw1 ever had.
I do agree with a comeback of zones like underworld, sorrow’s furnace and domain of anguish.
OR you could use your brain and make a unique password for each account you have minimizing the risk of being hacked.
we already have tons of waypoints even if mounts were introduced they wouldn’t be used for travelling at all maybe only for looks I’d say.
travelling costs are not really that high and tbh why would I ride a mount for 5 minutes when I can instant travel there via WP.
There’s this funny game almost no one knows called WoW, go there they have tons of brainless archaic raiding already, gw universe does not need raiding.
dual shields is kind of silly, but main hand shield makes sense I mean a shield can be used for offense, Troy anyone ?
Dungeons are a ton of fun if you do them with people that:
1- know how to play.
2- they communicate with each other.
3- know how to have a good time.
Sometimes we all end up laughing so hard on TS we can barely continue we take a break to calm down because of some hilarious thing that happened in the dungeon or on TS.
moral of the story is play with people you actually enjoy playing with.
