I’m thinking of moving to EU servers but I’d like to play with other NA players. Could you tell me which has the largest presence after hours? I heard desolation but I wanted to be sure there wasn’t a larger NA population before making the leap.

The “true minority” are the ones still hoping for improvement, bashing their heads against a wall of focus on PvE. To claim most people that were playing WvW four years ago still are defies overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

I don’t know about you but I’ve been playing WvW for over 3 years now and MOST of the people I started playing with then are still playing. I would love to see this evidence of yours. I know of two people who have completely quit this game due to the HoT expansion and the changes to WvW at the time. Other than that everyone I knew back then is still playing.. and it’s not a small number of people.

… and yes, all of us are still hoping for some things to change for even better… in the meantime we still like WvW and get what we can out of it. This, like all games, has plenty of flaws, but it also has plenty of fun for people that don’t require perfection (that will never exist).

the problem isn’t symbols being stationary, I actually LIKE the nature of symbols. The problem is KEEPING your target in them. GW2 has many ways this can be done, taunt, root, knock-down, stun, chill, slow. hell, add a ring of warding to symbols. The Guardian is the master of pbaoe, with concentrations, traps, meditations, symbols. Moving symbols would cheapen the pbaoe-ness. its bad enough concentrations became targetable. I use to enjoy overlapping my concentrations and symbols and frying anything that came at me.

giving us more pulls like on greatsword, or justice would help as well. Ideally, i would like to see more pull options with a pulsing chill, slow or taunt with weakness on my symbols, and a knockback (back into the symbol) if one tries to escape without using a counter.

You can only do so many things at the same time.
Are you laying the symbol or push/pulling your trap? Dpsing?
Symbols are HARD to get people to stand in, by taking zeal you’re making those symbols the star of the show… And that’s not a good idea for pvp. Especially as a burn guard where most of your energy needs to be focused on application and evasion.

Which is exactly what some of us totally expected would happen with the new links. From the very start of a new link you are forced to farm enough gold for the next inevitable transfer in order to keep playing with your new friends. Or of course throw your money at Anet, which they will be more than happy to accept. We still wont see the full effect until after a relink but I can imagine a fair bit angry people will post on the forums…

Unless Anet change the way server transfers work/cost, that will remain my belief and it is the reason they didnt merge servers. Constant transfering income by breaking up guilds after reshuffling servers is simply better for them.
