I’m hoping it doesn’t turn into a fractal. I feel like as a fractal, to have the full effect I think it should, it would have to be longer than dredge. I mean, there’s just so much to do. We might never have wintersday or Halloween in LA again. There’s just a lot of history that I think should be preserved and incorporated into a dungeon. I’d love for it to be a true explorable dungeon (perhaps be timey wimey) maybe have the old jumping puzzles still there, add more puzzles to do with the npcs and such….

I don’t know, I just know I’m going to miss LA very very much.

I’d love to see a lions arch dungeon. What would be even cooler, I think, is if it had levels, not just 1-49 but randomized difficulties. Something along the lines of random encounters, and not debuffs, instabilities, etc.

I’d just love to see something for small groups that could be mastered, but also something I could have fun playing with my hubby. ^^

That’s soundin’ pretty off topic to me son, I’m ’fraid im gonna have to call the authorities.

But, the person actually joined the mentor guild to learn dungeons and get my specific fashion advice. They said I have a quite unique skill set!

Well, a pro is that you gain swiftness in dungeons.

The con is that you lose force, night, etc.

But I personally would give anything to have swift in a dungeon, it is irreplacably amazing,

It’s allowed, and you can see the FAQ for the link, but it has the same safety from scamming as trading items off the TP does. You can do it, but if you’re scammed it’s not anet’s problem.

You can buy/sell paths as long as no exploits occurred, and you didn’t kick people to sell their spots, etc.

@Timmy, this is why I think a forum CDI would be extremely beneficial, maybe as CC Danicia running it. Its only relevant to us forumers, but it would be sooo beneficial to actually open up the conversation about moderation. I mentioned this early in the thread, but it might have been ignored because it was in the midst of that infighting that occurred. But nevertheless I think it would be super beneficial to us forumers. As we know, PvF is very important to us.

This wasn’t with so much a pug but rather a group of really, really bored friends. A friend and I decide to get a bunch of friends and guild mates for a lvl 1 fractal run. Not just ANY lvl 1 fractal run, but a lvl 1 fractal run with every character lvl 20 or lower. Three hours it took us, but we did it! Well, my friend, one of his friends he invited later, and I did. SO not only did we do it with characters lvl 20 or lower, we 3 manned half of it, and swore to never do it again. Uncatagorized fractal (with original 5), Snowblind fractal (with original 5, lost everyone, and we were half way done with the dragon shaman when his friend joined), Volcano fractal (and we saved everyone!), then Molten Duo boss fractal. Did you know that Flame Effigy always spawns a wave of reinforcements once it hits reach half way, no matter how many times it happens? That champion alone was the greatest challenge for us.
Also, my friend, my friend’s friend, and I all lost our pants first when out armor started breaking.

This is amazing. no elite skills, barely any traits. Stunning!!! But implies a heck of a lot of boredom.

Edit, also is it possible to get it just closed instead of deleted? There are a lot of posts and information and stuff there, that I’d love to be able to use (it’s basically my dungeon index)

First, yes, discussions of Dungeons and activity in them is why the Dungeons sub-forum exists.

And alas, the thread would have taken hours to go back and moderate. Our forum software does not allow us to do bulk deletions.

In memory of our lost thread, here is a general discussion thread.

So here’s what this is: We can talk about dungeons and dungeon related times. No name-shaming, insulting, fights, inappropriate talk, etc. I will personally report anything that might go against the ToS, even if I love you to death.

Anyway, we’ve started with player wins, lets continue! Anything that could be a win should be posted here, funny screenshots, or even funny conversations (without names) but nothing mean, angry, or hurtful.

Next up: Ogden’s take on classes.

Something I think is important when completing this fractal is the appointment of a leader. So many times, 3 members will have vastly different strategies. It’s important to choose one, flesh it out completely in chat or teamspeak (so, like, say this player to take his character to this button and do this, while these 3 run through the gate the second it opens, blah blah blah). It’s important to go with a single plan, rather than 5 people trying to do 5 separate things.

Secondly, when you finally get to the 2 button room, make sure you kill the 2 vets guarding before going in. Then, pick a side to clear of dredge, tell one person to get on the button, and another to be ready to grab the console while one person goes to the second button and the 4th kites/tanks dredge. The person on the console is usually best to have stealth, some instant cast invuln (ele mist form) or other blocks to keep the console going if the dredge kiter/tank dies/fails.

Then run up, get to bombs if unlucky, and thats a tale for another person to explain, as i am tired now.

@Atse: I have a warrior, and she has berserker gear, but it might make you feel disturbed to know I think the class is garbage and I hate playing something so simple.

I play my ele better, I think, than most pugs play their warriors. She has her berserker gear and is nearly meta! but as a fresh air build, and she is amazing. My warrior is…. boring.

Is this all about npcs or personal characters too

I’ve only seen 3-4 other players with the scepter, which is definitely more rare than most. However, I’ll say that I actually have never seen a person using abyssal scepter.

I recently upgraded from zojja’s to mists skins so I can sparkle when not bifrosting.

I sparkle with my anomaly/immobulus and my bifrost. Although, I’m very happy with the wupwup skin I got for a dagger a couple fractals ago!

Just quick question (I had intended on doing this very social experiment a few months ago, but scrapped it when I didn’t want to level another character on my new account): did you tell these groups you were new? Did they know you didn’t know what to do (supposedly)? Were they EXP groups?

It’s also cute how you’re ignoring our very clear logic. Alpha doesn’t bug. He attacks. We dodge, we stack, we dodge, so on and so forth.

It costs 1800 gems to transfer servers, so 20$+a 15 gold or just buy more gems, whatever.

You can also delete all your characters and transfer to a server for free.

Anyway, I don’t think my point was at all off base. If I’m meleeing a boss, I don’t shoot my aoe 1200 units away from it. I don’t use static field (if I’m using staff) around an unmoving boss. I generally use my daggers, a lightning hammer, anything. I don’t use range attacks in a melee fight, why should an AI?

Why are trash mobs there? To present groups a challenge: skip without dying. A lot of times this requires group coordination, boon sharing, and group support. Everyone has their own role. Killing each mob one at a time is easy, but slow. Skipping takes practice, coordination, and group effort.

Look Just To Clarify id like to understand the roots of the issue.

Why Do players Skip Trash is it just to save time? if so then why does Arenanet not shorten the time it takes to complete a dungeon path?

If Mobs would Chase you then people would not be able to skip them, and then you would perform the dungeon as intended skipping simply feels like cheating.

I Don’t Want to be banned for being in a group that skipped or glitched a fight.

And on the matter of selling dungeons its also cheating, you dont see anything else listed in the lfr for arah just sold groups.

Why?

Well… Here goes.

So skipping is something that is intended with the dungeon design (can someone cite the Robert Hrouda quote that discusses “path of least resistance”. )You can kill stuff, too, but they don’t drop anything because anet does not want us to farm these creatures (bad for the economy).

You don’t glitch fights unless you are actually, like, going out of your way (under maps and special JPs) and even then, you won’t get banned for doing it (if you sell an exploited instance, however, you can be banned).

On the subject of selling dungeons, it is allowed, see the FAQ for the link for that dev post. You can sell dungeons if you did not exploit the path or skip bosses (like Lupi).

The reason you only see Arah sells is because all other posts fill up SO quick that they are not as prevalent, because, they get filled within a minute normally. So start your own group and see how quick it fills!

Anyway, welcome to everything we say in every thread every day that complains about the same things you are.
