I just want to point out that it does not, in fact, create inflation. Inflation means the deterioration of the worth of a currency, what they are doing is not creating gold, it’s taking other peoples already existing gold through selling items.
But it isn’t inflation, it’s capitalism.

And do not say, to keep the old skin. This was griefing many players who bought t3 cultural armor so thats not an option.
The reason I’m asking is that it is in my opinion time to stop crying over something that’s not going to change, but to think of solutions that might give Anet idea’s.

Maybe make it available again in the game but through the mystic force:
Ingredients (for the chest piece, but others are simular)
1 Sorcerer’s coat (the current cultural T3 skin)
1 Zojja’s Berserker Insignia (or any other ascended insiginia, but the type will determine the stats on the final item)
50 bloodstone bricks
25 Glob’s of Dark matter
The result will be (with this type of insignia) an ascended version off the old flamekissed coat with beserkers stats.
Off course, the limitation would and should be that it is for only humans to maintain the cultural armor status.
If you continue this, Anet could make all cultural skins flamekissed (well the style, it should be named different off course) and make it upgradable in a simular way.
I guess if be fine with anyone of any race having cultural armor.
But in terms of what I would think is fair (apart from people getting to keep the skin) I honestly think what they did was perfect (though I would have liked them to give a little extra for the need to reskin our toons, so transmutations or just a few extra gems for the armor). But I really think they did the complete right thing, despite really really missing the old skin.

The only thing I disagree about is the “forgot how to play” notion. The same goes for phrases like “how it was meant to be played”.
The mere fact that there are different philosophies of how to play and that all of them can be translated into a working playstyle shows that there is more than one way to play the game.
“How it was meant to be played” could indeed be taken as a subjective statement because players are out for different things.
What is not subjective, however, is the literal interpretation of the phrase. What was the intention of the development team when they designed the content or rather how was the game designed to be played? The answer should be obvious; they explicitly developed Guild Wars 2 to have truly mobile combat as one of its defining features. Even dodging is a form of mobility. The stack style contradicts intended game design by taking advantage of minute, unintended flaws in the system to turn mobile combat into stationary and typically easier combat.

How about my thief? She’s a level 8 thief. She has a very wealthy benefactor who supplies her with the most expensive gears and dyes.

They are the order of whispers gloves, same with the boots. The skirt is Magitech, and the top is the duelist coat (named exotic) from the TP.

I think it depends on the material. The really expensive materials (used to be bloods and scales) were worth promoting.
Things like heavy bag of _______ hold some t5 and t6 materials, but there’s no guarantee which ones or how many you will get. You can farm the heavy moldy ones in Orr, mining bags in the Dredge fractal, and I often get just plain powerful blood drops from harpies also in fractals.
The heavy bags you can buy with laurels are also great.
In order to get the t6 dust I salvaged ectos, because it gives a bunch and I wanted more mf. But you can get this from heavy bags too. (My legendary required 750 of this, and my immobulus 250 so I had to salvage a lot of ecto)

So far on the tarnished coast server I’ve been able to get us a guild stash too, which I intend on placing some basic dungeon gear for our beginners (once I get more gold, I went nuts and spent it all on 10 lovestruck weapons ATM xD)

Really? 30 days to craft a set of armor. I’m a pretty active player, but, seriously, 30 days to craft a set of armor. It takes longer to craft a set of celestial armor than it does to craft all the legendary weapons in the game.
If you didn’t know, you need 5 charged crystals per piece of armor.
Celestial armor is dead to me. Sorry, but it is. It is a sad day.
If it makes you feel any better, Celestial armor was dead long before today. It is only marginally useful for two classes, and even for them there are better options. Overall it is the worst armor set in the game, so you aren’t missing anything by skipping it.

I just thought they should have implemented this change AFTER they released account bound wvw levels…. Because they’re getting added and such. I have 2 lvl 10 or so, a couple lower levels, and I bet if they were added together I’d have that rank 30 already.

There was a bug with the wintersday gifts that caused charged crystals to drop. A lot of us now have 250+ charged crystals and nothing to do with them.

Can we have anything addressed with fractals? Specifically about reset and dredge fractals. The longer it takes the less importance it has and many have given up completely. Yet the team still makes nerfs to different parts of fractals making it harder day by day. The promise that dredge fractal will be balanced was completely left in dust as well. I don’t feel comfortable doing CDI on the topic because I know it’ll turn into something that will be quickly closed and forgotten because of people that want something to happen fighting with people that are denying them the right to ask about it. Rather, I’d love to hear you guys’ opinion on dredge fractal and the reset that happened and nothing was made right to compensate for that. Just addressing the issue would be something, because frankly I’m slowly joining the group that is giving up and forgetting about it completely…

So I’m still confused for those of you that got gem refunds what happened to the new skin? Did Anet remove it and change your skin back to the armor type you placed it on or do you still get to keep the new skin as well?
Arenanet can’t change the skin back so unless they provide 6 transmutation stones as well they can’t actually do anything. In my case once I receive the refund I will be changing the skin anyway cause the new skin is godawful IMHO.
So people that don’t like the new look will get a refund of gems but then will have to buy spliters or transmutation stones/crystals and a new armor set off the TP with the gems that were refunded? Or are they providing splitters as well?
I think if you ask, you could either get splitters, trans crystals, or just gems to convert to the gold you need in order to revert back to your armor (like real t3 cultural) because using the splitters on a Flamekissed exotic set that used to be t3 cultural will not get the cultural armor back, instead you’ll get the skin and the exotic armor back.

Yeah, but my skin was on a lvl 13 alt. I bought a makeover kit when the original armor came out to change the look of my char to match, and so I requested one to change her back.

I can confirm that in my case, the GM refunded my 800 gems, a makeover kit, and I kept the skin. No use for it, but eh. Trying to find a use for the only piece I actually like (the headpiece). No luck so far. Lol

What’s wrong with Aetherblade path? I actually did not like the horrid and boring design of foward up path… to the contrary, I think aetherblade is very good and a proper step up in their dungeon design, although still needs work but overall much better.
I love the Vevina fight and the fountain/bee puzzle. It was always fun pugging it.

If people want to participate, they should plan time during the week and not expect this to be scheduled around whenever they feel like showing up.
Uh…even though a majority of the core suggestions have already been discussed, the ability to just jump in, say a piece/proposal, and come back days later is the exact way CDI was meant to be handled, if I understood Chris’ intent correctly.
People have jobs, families, and lives. We can’t expect them to plan a specific timeslot in their day to contribute to the CDI. Contributors should be free to come and go as they please, and the structure of the CDI delivery and discussion should be that a person can re-enter a discussion at any time, with minimal effort to “catch-up” to the current topic or posters.
I think that’s true on conversations that are long and involved, like progression or the topic CDIs, but for this whole “discussion about the discussion” thread seems to run it’s course quickly and get derailed. I just think 2 weeks is a bit too long for this thread. IMO, of course.

I just found it interesting that when they pulled the first one from the gems tore, they said something along the lines of “though not intended, it did resemble t3 human cultural.” But, like, it seems to me that their intention for this armor set was to have them be reskins. But if that was their intention, their very blatant and obvious intention, why would they not be surprised that the first armor set resembled t3? It just doesn’t make sense to me.
I hate the new Flamekissed, though I do like the helm. I have since changed my norn back to her old look, with winged armor, but I’ll definitely always miss the first Flamekissed.

My number is embarrassing, but I’ll put it here. I’ve spent approximately $2.5k, in various doodads and such. I have a lot to show for it, and I’d say about a third of it has been gifted items to game friends, RL friends, and my husband. I love supporting the game. I buy some gems every paycheck. Usually because there’s something new I want, but sometimes it’s just because I want to support the game.
