Yes, I see your points, Lilith, and I respect there are many different ways of looking at things. I just don’t want RD to feel bad, or betrayed, or somehow feel negatively towards us, as a company. That really is all I’m hoping, because I <3 ArenaNet and I believe we do right by our players.

It’s probably not possible to upgrade the current tools to give similarly themed “bonuses” is it? If not, I get that. It would be really cool to get azurite again, though, but I dislike that idea because that’s hardly fair to people who did not get the molten when it came out (unfair advantage, I guess). Anyway, it would be cool if we could “transmute” skins (and maybe get the second tool back skinless or something?) so that we could get the best of both worlds by spending the extra 1000 gems. I don’t know. I’m just spouting ideas that would make me happy, and I get that not everyone would agree.

Eh, anyway, I’ll still spend mondo gems on the store. I’ll never stop, because I like the stuff too much.

By the way, after showing my hubby that All is vain! Post and explaining how people are now using it, he made this for me, and it think he made it for all of us.

I wish we could make our own guild emblems. I would demand it.

Can you also make it so mentors can do upgrades? This way I can activate guild buffs on my server. And other mentors can do the same.

I haven’t gotten generic smartphone 5s because my husband says he’ll leave me because he hates generic smartphone company. XD (this is a joke, but it has been said)

Anyway, the difference, I think, is that the phone has a shelf life. It wears out, gets slower, gets cracked or damaged, but the unlimited mining pick has no obsolescence. Or at least we thought. I planned on buying all incarnations of these tools (and have) because I’m a collector and love new skins. But I now feel like the new ones make my really nice, say, elementalist themed ones, obsolete, and that really disappoints me, since I love my main ele and now I feel like I have to change her tools (I do know it’s silly to care, but as an RP nerd I really love them)

I believe I remember now – is there any way to check the little splashes that rotate when you open up the gem store – there’s usually 5-6 of them and they cycle every couple of seconds? I’m thinking that is where people saw “The last pick you’ll ever need” (because I remember seeing that phrase too, but not “on the boards”…)

This is what I was thinking, but I couldn’t find a screen on google. And I’m not sure if it was for the first release of the pick, it might have been for the second or the third release.

The Aether path drops blue hued glowing TA weapons occasionally which can be sold anywhere from 100-800g. Baht they are really rare.

Also, Aether will periodically drop regular TA weapons and armors.

Just don’t make my mistake. Bought too much yesterday and got the rewards cut in half for a few hours :p

I only buy 2-3 paths a day (sometimes none, if I can’t get on) I typically get an Arah p2 from randoms (ones that don’t skip Lupi ) and a p3 from a seller with whom I have a good rapport. Sometimes, if I get one before daily, I might grab another right after, but most often not.

I just wish I either had more time to run or that people could start selling CoE.

I love Chuck’s, but it’s not nearly snarky enough. Maybe that’s a good thing. XD

Things have changed a lot over the last few months with ascended crafting. I had brought all of my crafts up to 400 almost a year ago, when things were much cheaper. I used the guides on gw2crafts.com and that sort of thing.

I think now, the armor crafts are super expensive to level because of ascended armor. Cooking has always been fairly cheap, and artificer becomes cheap because of all of the potions and non-weapons you can make. The rest are all still fairly expensive though. I recommend using a guide that shows you the cheapest way, or easiest if you prefer easy to cheap.

It’s basic maths. If a single player in your party can do the same damage you can, you kill the bosses in half the time. If they all do about the same damage, you kill the boss in 1/5th of the time (in fact, less than that, because everyone benefits from each other’s buffs). Maybe you’re just really unlucky and keep getting PUGs made up of four naked level 2 players who don’t move…?

That’s a little rude.

Also, a lot of times, extra members can slow you down, because you have to worry about folks being able to keep up with you while skipping trash mobs, or even having to communicate can slow down the process.

Fixing bugged forum

@Nike, I get that. I just feel like (like this morning) this thread had been pushed all the way to the second page, and stickies don’t work all that well, because people not always look at the stickies (see the Dolyak express). So in terms of exposure, the general discussion forum gets so much traffic for other unrelated things that it hinders the visibility by being here.

I like the idea of the following:

- Include a topic primer (The CDI thread owner will do this)
- Create a template for proposal ideas starting with a ‘User Story’ and then formatted in a similar way to Nike and other’s suggestions I will create this)
- No word limit as the hope is that the new format will help with more concise communication.
- Topics for the next round will be chosen by the Devs and will run concurrently where possible.
- Following the next round of topics we will discuss whether or not we like Devs choosing the topics.
- The CDI will not have its own sub forum currently as the concern is there won’t be enough exposure.
- We will do more to expose new CDI threads to the community when the go live.

I think we need to continue to discuss:

- Tech improvements for the CDI forum.
- Anymore ideas or thoughts?

I just wanted to say that I believe there is a rare quality soldier’s spine guard on the TP. Usually it’s fairly cheap, iirc

The cost, currently, is about 3.5 gold, for the rare version. The mastercraft version has 2 less power and 1 less vitality and toughness and only cost 15 silver. All I really wanted was something better than the junk one I had never replaced from the personal story gifting and to be sure I could get the celestial upgrade in there before I get to Grenth and pick up the karma version. Thanks for the info though, I do appreciate the help.

Just thought I would bump the write up about stacking, since we saw another thread this week. I think the stacking question is similar to questions about kicking, etc., which are already in the FAQ. No problem if you don’t want to include this, but I don’t think starting another thread is the right idea.

I’m going to have one of my reserved posts become a “controversial” topic post. I will get around to editing it probably tonight, after work.

Anyway, it would work nicely if it was one guild. You’d have a leader from NA and EU, then EU mentor And NA mentor, then member status. (Could even delegate these as NA or EU).

I had this same problem. What solved it for me, was deleting the saved passwords on my iOS machines (iPads, macs, etc) and not saving any passwords for the website or game. (So un checking remember user name and password on the game client itself, even if a windows machine). It would happen if I logged out of the forums on my iPad while having the password saved. So now I don’t save any passwords to any apple devices with iOS 7. And I have not had to change passwords since.

Edit: just also wanted to clarify that as a very active forumer, I’m on the forums a lot with my iPad, iPod, windows machines, android devices, etc. I think it is very specifically an issue with iOS 7 and logging out with passwords being saved. I’m not sure, computer wise, how that should occur. But it was, and simply not saving passwords has literally solved this entirely for me.

Had a 15k AP necromancer carry myself and my whole guild group through a lvl 49 fractal.

Every situation is unique, that’s why this filter is eh.

I honestly would find a 1k AP helpful… Because it shows that they’ve blamed the game long enough to probably know what they’re doing. But because I’m not an AP farmer, I fully expect in 5 months to no longer qualify for any pug runs, because my AP really won’t increase much more.

CDI have become possible because the game has had time to teach about the game. Clear formats are an excellent tool for teaching processes, but they cannot be the highest level of contribution we will tolerate. I’ve been infracted for reaching higher before. I don’t want to see good posts being deleted again because they didn’t fit in a box.

You do not foster creativity by enforcing conformity.

I guess I don’t understand how format limits creativity.

Look at Shakespearean sonnets, for instance.

Anyway, I just think that a format would help collaboration with everyone, not how creative your posts look. I think what’s really important is the content, and a format would best portray that content.

Good format and process in my experience absolutely do not negatively impact creativity and problem solving.

People can write as well as he did, but the people who could write in the way that he did is drastically reduced. If that makes sense? A format can be detrimental to content simply because people can spend too much time on the format or they will be put off by the existence of a format and not contribute at all.

So adding formatting to a post that is likely written in word, (how could a 2 page post not be written in word?) will suffer because they had to put in a couple brackets?

So on choice of topics, I’d honestly like as much feedback from devs on what they want to hear about. For instance, folks might chomp at the bit for one on precursors and crafting and such, but we might get very little discussion from that (due to things like, devs obviously can’t tell us much, so there wouldn’t be much of a discussion).

I’d like it to be that the devs say “we are looking to improve x, can we ask the community their thoughts, and maybe pick their brains?” I just feel like that might be the most mutually useful.

Anyway, that’s my two copper.

- How we decide the subject of topics ( I am leaning toward the DEVs picking the next round and seeing how that goes)

Question:

- Should we run the WvW, PVP and PVE concurrently or one at a time for the next round of CDI topics?

I think it would be accessible for the CDI to have a forum either in the news/game release, etc, and keeping it so that only devs can create threads. The CDI forum should also have active moderation for the un constructive posts and the ones that do not follow the desired format.

I would love to have the CDIs run concurrently. It would be disappointing for me to not be able to participate in any, as I don’t wvw or pvp. But that’s my own selfish thought.
