I was really upset once because the party leader of my level 38 was like “gotta go, wow raid now” and kicked us out at the end of the third fractal. I was so upset, my guild leader went all white knight and guested onto their server, and gave a PSA about the guild and the person who destroyed/started the instance.

It was awesome. And I felt better. Lol

Kane and I regularly check the stickied thread and respond to everyone who post. The point of the thread was to give new players a friendly environment to learn basic dungeon mechanics not related to gear and builds, and to allow them to later choose how they wanted to run dungeons. We get people every week contacting us via whispers or mail so it is still an active avenue for people to get dungeon mentoring.

That’s cool. I can link your thread if you want, I just figured that since it was stickied it didn’t need to be linked.

The dungeon mentor thread has been seeing a lot of traffic, and I’m very glad to see it is still going.

Things that make the run go longer: having no mesmers, having no mesmers with feedback, group not understanding that being poisoned at Malrona is a good thing, people not being able to melee tree, people trying to exploit (jumping puzzles to try and range bosses), ranging bosses…..

Yeah, that’s how my runs with pugs last 20 + minutes

I don’t see what’s so wrong with wanting to look good while leveling especially when it’s free with the transmutation stones that are just thrown at you.

You only need transmutation stones (the ones you get for completing maps) to keep your skin. When you are level 80, you use the gem shop crystals on your end game gear.

So that’s all you need. You don’t have to spend a dime on stones while leveling to 80, since you’ll likely complete maps while leveling.

I have exotic skins and gears on all of my lowbies. I transmute with the free stones from mapping. Heck I even have a legendary I’ve been transmuting on my level 8.

Even though Anet refuses to do anything or acknolwedge this problem exists, they wouldn’t allow this response.

Also, it would be completely possible for somebody to have an issue with a guild and just say they got kicked by this guild to give them a bad name. Like… I got kicked by [CRZY] at the boss because I was wearing COF gear. =) Didn’t happen, just an example.

Sometimes I will look at a new thread (new to me) and see up votes that I can’t have done (the +1 is greyed out and such) these are also usually on posts I would never ever up vote (that may just be a coincidence). I think this is a bug. Anyone else have this happen?

That’s assuming you keep 25 stacks of might up for the whole fight, right? What about the case where you have a pub that doesn’t use might at all beyond the occasional FGJ? Would that rotation still be preferable to using staff to stack might before the combat engages?

As stated earlier, if in a team of useless pugs- You can do this, but then take it entirely off go to your inventory and replace it with a greatsword.

Is there a way to only like, have it half on?

Why am I against using it at all? Because I am giving PERMANENT blasts via LH, and the 2nd Ele or the guard should be keeping up fire fields for me. Using a light field AT ANY TIME messes things up.

If it makes you feel any better, I don’t really play my guardian outside of TA.

I also don’t really play meta, or optimal builds. I go as optimal as I feel up to… But I don’t join speed runs. (Zerker traits, armor, half zerk trinkets)

I’m not a very good player, and I guess if I played more I’d try a little harder.

Keep your girl from melee, a dead GF can be frustrating. That means: Ranger or Necro.

I have a hard time believing warriors can die, in any range xD

But yeah, necromancer might be a good choice, if she likes things a bit macabre. Also, for race, I’d recommend an Asura, because jumping is so much easier with them (so while you are mapping with her she won’t get as frustrated? Maybe?)

I get more whispers asking me about my weapons, dyes, and armors than people needing dungeon teachers, but then that’s to be expected, being a God Tier Fashionista.

But when I get folks looking for help, I generally make them wait 30 minutes to make sure they actually want my help. Usually they do, and so far I’ve had good experiences. Some very lovely and spongey noobs.

Ps. Spongey meaning they soak up information, advice, and everything very well.

and yeah I break out the staff for blooms in TA when my thief buddy isn’t online. It still has it’s uses, I don’t typically kick players for using a staff unless that’s all they do. Maybe i’m too soft on them…

It generally takes 30 minutes into a dungeon for me to really know whether the group is capable in completing in … Well. A decent pug time.

Yeah, on my ele I generally burning speed ahead of the group, it usually clears the blossoms for the group for each smaller vine.

Sword/Focus is infinitely better for any fight that doesn’t last long enough for the protection symbol to matter. Higher dps AND two blinds, which, on quick trash fights, mitigate more damage than being hit under prot. Also strong burst with the focus shield explosion.

Which is pretty much all of TA in a decent group.

Check out what the other tonics are going for, and base it off that. Last time I checked, one was going For 400g. So I’d say there or less (maybe more, people like that one). A really hefty chunk of change though.

I just don’t understand this. I don’t understand what makes someone so entitled that just because they are apart of some specific server that means they don’t have to wait as long as everyone else does. That they should just be able to map in, right toward the start of the fight, and kick someone out that they don’t think deserves to play the event that they waited patiently for.

Everyone is saying stuff like “low pop servers should be doing it themselves” and blah blah blah. You do realize that the people guesting on your server are from 10+ other servers, and probably, on that map, equal no more than 20-40 (at most) bodies? Let’s do math and say that 2-4 people can go back to their own server and try to beat boss x on their own. That seems fair, right?

Let’s do some full ele runs again.

Actually, going to deserted areas, maps that people don’t go to, will net you the most bonus experience that can be increased from boosters. Killing monsters that haven’t been killed in a long time will give you a lot more experience than say killing the newly spawned moas in Queensdale (that you already killed a minute ago).

My advice is to go to a map that doesn’t have a world event, or an area of a map that doesn’t see much traffic. Northern dredgehaunt cliffs comes to mind. The experience boosters will help boost those high exploration bonuses you get after killing a creature that hasn’t been killed/respawned in a while.

For the likes of you, when weren’t here at game’s launch when all the dungeons were super hard and the final effigy required a very distinctive group otherwise it would heal up all the way, yes … you can actually kill ALL THE ELITES (WOW) or play it smart.

Home server players HAVE TO have priority against ANY guest.

Just because a random, jobless guest guy like to wait 894729824982 hours before an event, you cant kick home server’s players into overflow.

A for instance: I’m a wife, home owner, teacher, etc. I have, let’s say, 2 hours to play on a Saturday night. My server, while a great server, does not have the cooperation to do Tequatl more than once or twice a day. So I sign on, quest to BG, go to Splintered coast, and wait.

Should I be kicked because some person from BG decides on a whim to get Teq 15 minutes prior to the event?

I don’t think so. If I was on BG and wanted to do Teq, I would go and wait, just like everyone else. Not feel entitled because I happen to be on the largest population server.

Actually yes you should. Home peeps should always have priority.

K. I’ll remember that when I’m spending my time in order to get into an event I want to, thus stealing your spot because you don’t want to spend the time. ^^
