i mean do you want to have easy access to everything? that would just make the content A: simple B: there would be no scene of achievement at completing it.

Please explain to me how having easy access to everything makes the content simple? Further explain to me how having easy access to everything would in some way trivialize the achievements as part of completing the content.

A good example would be the jumping puzzles in lions arch. There is a simple one, a medium one, and one that is a bit more complex. All have easy access to them. Yet they are not all simple, and yes I felt a sense of achievement when completing all three of them. So I find your argument that easy access trivializes something to be lacking.

Does this mean you think they should have done an easy, medium, and hard version of it to accommodate different levels of skill? I must be misreading that, because SAB DOES have three levels of difficulty. Besides, even so, no matter what people will ALWAYS complain they can’t beat the hardest mode. It’s a common case of, I see it exists, so it is my right to possess it.

can’t wait for world 3 some time next year

I can’t imagine what kind of p2w nonsense that is going to be. Would much rather just pay a sub instead of this current model. Of course with destiny, eso etc on the horizon I don’t think it’s going to be a concern for anyone.

if you really think that this system we have at the moment is a P2W system? Then you must not have played a Korean MMO or at least not enough time into one to hit the pay or grind wall (no offence to anyone who enjoys korean MMO’s but i don’t have the time nor the desire to ether pay out or grind away for digital items).

i mean do you want to have easy access to everything? that would just make the content A: simple B: there would be no scene of achievement at completing it.

Agreed. People really have no idea what they are talking about when they call the coin P2W. Even with the coin, it can still be an immensely frustrating experience. I Wanna be That Guy has infinite lives and most people still can’t beat it, but since you can’t really completely lose I guess that means you may as will consider it beaten, right?

I will admit, I have been tempted to try. I mean, god knows what kind of wonderful things could be in there. Though, knowing Treb mode, it’s just gonna be a midget in the box who leaps out and pops you in the nuts.

You don’t need bauble bubbles if you take the time to get good at tribulation. Hell, you can get a weapon skin once a day even. Much more efficient than saving them up. Unless of course, you prefer the blue version which is understandable.

Treb mode is rather easy once you get infinite continues. If like me you entered it with a limited stock (I never farmed those in the previous SAB, it wasn’t needed and I consider them to be cheap) and found yourself stuck with only one life instead of 5 and having to leave the instance every two deaths, and waiting for the loading screen, and for all purposes playing as if there was no check point at all, yeah it was kind of hard.

Then perhaps you should read my original post a little better. Just kill the 3 bosses in world 1 for 6 bauble bubbles and the bonus round after for another 1. You really do not need much to do that at least.

when you think about it, infinite coin is something you should absolutely not have when trying Tribulation Mode. To even attempt to complete this you should have no life at all.

Are you indicating treb requires a crazy amount of your time to accomplish? For some maybe, but that is so not the case. Plenty of people got it done from day 1 including myself. How is doing something in a day considered a no lifer activity?

Grinding for baubles for coins is certainly a grind. Thankfully you can get by with just bauble bubbles and baubles if you get desperate. Heck, I think some of those jumping puzzles would probably be faster then getting 50 baubles.
Although I can see the irony in farming a jumping puzzle to feed lives into a jumping puzzle that you clearly have trouble with :x

Just buy coins outside of the box. You can get 7 bauble bubbles in one daily rotation from world 1 and the bonus round. This means 7 coins, which equates to 175 lives. Do you SERIOUSLY need more than that to beat world 2? The infinite coin is very VERY unnecessary.

But repeating the same content over and over just to farm bauble bubbles is grinding.

Grinding is a big no-no in ArenaNet’s eyes. Or have things changed??? (sarcasm)

Doing a single world 1 run for the daily bauble bubble chests is hardly a grind. You can only do it once per account. If you are burning through that then sure, get the infinite coin, but you gotta be pretty bad to go through that in such a short amount of time.

Interesting, not sure if I ran into that or not. I wasn’t paying attention to my lives when I fell. There is also an issue with lag. In world 1 zone 3 treb I had an issue some of the time where I would run onto a bouncing mushroom along the edge of the swamp. If I kept going forward I would still die, despite being in the air and not in the swamp. The server didn’t seem to even register my jump at times.

The jumps/ranges are all over the place.

You can easily get 175 lives from doing a single sweep of your daily world 1 run. This leaves you with plenty of lives. Seriously people, do you even KNOW you can trade bauble bubbles for them? One gives you 5 coins. 1 coin gives 5 lives.

I know SAB is hard, but do you really need more then 175 lives a day? I got World 1 tribulation done last night on bauble bubbles alone. Didn’t even have any from April left over.

Is sab temporary?

Buy coins with bauble bubbles. One daily rotation of world 1 + the bonus round is 175 lives right there.

My brother and myself managed to get through it by booking it through the run. I hugged the edge as much as possible and leaped as quick as I could. Unfortunately lag is a big factor here as those rocks will often take affect on you long after they should.

It’s also quite enjoyable how your character seems to always conveniently gravitate to any ledge it can.

Again, read the short story. She asks some pretty interesting questions about her race and her own existence as a whole. She questions fate and the “free will” Sylvari supposedly have. She comes to the realization they are really not much more than slaves to the tree. Much like Zerg are to the Overmind. The other alternative, is to go rogue and become part of the Nightmare court. She chose to seek a third option. An option not yet even considered by her peers. To call her Harley Quinn, is an insult to her much deeper character then the game leads you to believe.

LinkR.6190

I’m not particularly sure I understand how any of these proposed problems and suggested solutions have anything to do with “meaningful” gameplay. It’s a video game. It isn’t supposed to mean that much to you. When it does, that isn’t meaning. It’s an addiction. What it should be is just an escape from life’s woes.

As for your propositions, a few things stand out. (I admit, I skimmed it. If I want to read a book, I’ll pull out a book)

I wholeheartedly disagree that there are too many waypoints. I feel there are just enough to get to where you want to go, without it being too convenient. Exploration is a novelty best served fresh. Once you have done it, it isn’t exactly a treat to repeat it. Back tracking to content you have already visited just to get from point A to B is incredibly tedious and time consuming.
As for your death penalty argument, which coincides with waypoints, I partly agree. I agree about the world bosses. They have become a novelty and something of a joke of their original grand design. These days they have become nothing but overglorified loot pinatas and it saddens me to see how meaningless they are. However, the death penalty I do not have a problem with. Despite having my waypoints, I still feel the need to preserve my life as best as I can. I still do often need to run a bit back to the fight after my demise. It is actually quite rare for me to die right on top of a waypoint and even if I did, it is pretty much always contested. The corpse run is not completely phased out. It just isn’t a marathon as it was back in vanilla WoW (I’m looking at your old RFK corpse run. Freaking Barrens…)

As for you wanting WvW maps to be even larger, Is ee really no point in it. Nor do I really see much of an argument for it to even be necessary. I do, however have somewhat of a problem with there being 4 separate maps. I feel the server owned borderlands have become a relic of their original design and need to be retooled. They just seem arbitrary now and often completely abandoned.

Judging from your first 2 points, I am willing to hazard a guess you are not aware the game down-levels you to the zone you are in. It is not really possible t face a mob 15 levels lower then you. You are always on even footing.

The game can certainly appear harder then your average mmo. Movement is key and if you lack the faculties to do so, well unfortunately you are in some major trouble. The best think I an say really is to try and keep at it. You can not apply what you have learned from other MMOs because a TON of them took a lot of inspiration from WoW’s success. GW2 however doesn’t. This game does indeed have some balancing issues and some mobs are unusually difficult. However, sometimes there are adversaries you just aren’t meant to defeat. Use your heads to achieve victory.

That’s a good point. Match fixing would come into play. But custom PvP servers don’t earn you gold at all – in fact, they cost money.

One for casual players who are used to how previous story achievements were accomplished, which truthfully, in that respect they were more like tasks then actual accomplishments aka an achievement. The other,, is built for the more hardcore in mind. It is unfortunate really that some people feel left out. especially since the hardcore players have the ability to enjoy both aspects, while the casual is rather limited to their own ability. Can’t please them all unfortunately. I wish you the best of luck.
