You can not mail yourself
Yeah, I heard you can actually go blind from that…
Those cargo holds are coooold.
Ever heard of the McRib? Same dirty little concept.
I for one welcome our new bearded overlords.
People like you OP is why we can’t have nice things. You are the type of person that is the reason most game devs become so tight lipped about everything. You shouldn’t expect every plan they divulge to be an end all promise. Plans change. Just because it will be delayed doesn’t mean you should declare them liars. They have reasons to delay development. If something they are doing turns out to flop, they will take a step back to rework it. That takes pieces of time from future content. Be glad they don’t just narrowmindedly stay the course and ignore problems that arise from present and past content. It’s just a game folks. It’s not like they set out to disappoint you. They want to succeed just like any other human would.
Yes, he will up the chances from .0001% to a whopping .0002%! Get your precursors while you can!
I had heard they had very little intention on making expansions, but minds do change /shrug. With the two week thing I don’t really see how they would find the time. People might complain about the quality of it, they really do work their kitten off to create what they give us.
Norn are just giant dwarves imo. Although, it just isn’t the same…
Looks like he was. Sorry, it was the only vid I could find and the frames in it suuuuck, but the beta had poor optimization at the time. I can see why they just removed it. He didn’t seem to be very polished as a boss encounter. The poor thing could barely move. Not even sure what makes it such a threat.
Butt crabs will be the next menace.
I’m not so hot on weekend events. I have a hard enough time getting myself out of the house as is. I don’t need more of an excuse to play for fear of missing out. I would however love the concept of some kind of slightly longer bonus, like a week where one dungeon rewards more than it normally does. Would get people to actually do some of the lesser played dungeons more often.
Fixing slaying potions is also on the radar, for over a month. I honestly don’t understand their priorities when they leave such massive bugs in the game for such a long time.
more zones to explore as well.
They can add those zones at any level range already attainable. What’s the point in making it extend our level?
Seems pretty arbitrary to even bother increasing the cap when we can level up anywhere. We already still gain exp even at max level. Being at 90 changes nothing. The whole point games even increase their level caps is to give you something to work to while experiencing their new content. The new content which you are forced to participate in because they don’t allow progression in any other zone. WoW’s expansions area prime example. It just doesn’t make sense with GW2.
Teq’s minis sell fairly well. Takes a day or so to sell though without undercutting. You know.. when he feels like actually giving you one that is. /shakes fist.
Yeah that is rough. Doesn’t appear to be a repair client in the folder either. You’re probably trying to avoid it, but have you already tried reinstalling the game?
I feel ya OP. It’s even worse with Engineer. Everything feels counterintuitive when they made back pieces and weapons rather limited visually. Makes shooting for those goals a bitter pill to swallow. For me, I would focus on WvW if my CPU didn’t suck so hard. I swear the things made of wood /sigh.
If you are Oceanic, you can’t go wrong with Sea of Sorrows. If you are NA however, you could give Sanctum of Ral a try. They even have a few Oceanic guilds manning their WvW during the off hours usually. Give them a guest and see if it has the population you are hoping for.
I’d love to see an instability which specifically targets warriors and turns them into quaggans with one skill called splash which does precisely one damage.
Not bad, not bad. I’ll pose an idea as well. How about all warriors wielding greatswords get their weapons replaced with a useless rubber chicken. Mesmers need one too… but it’s too early in the morning to think of anything clever… hmm. How about their portal gets a chance to backfire and the party to a new zone dubbed “exploiter’s hell”. A terrible place packed with enemies that see through invisibility and use horrifying combinations of knockback, slow, and roots. /shutter
Supply and demand. The demand outweighs the supply and so the price will remain high. Welcome to the world of economics.
I do not understand the logic in having nothing to strive for in one class over another.
I have my ascended jewelry(6 sets I think), I have my ascended weapons, I strive to have fun with my friends and guildies. I enjoy some PvE, a bit more PvP, and a great deal of WvW.
I do not strive to have fun. It just happens. If it didn’t, I wouldn’t be here. If your not having fun on your engineer, then play the profession you have fun on.
I understand your sentiment. It might seem shallow to depend so much on a means to an end rather than the journey. I just feel like even the journey is a touch vacant. Don’t get me wrong, I love the class. I love going bomberman in melee when I can and then swapping out to gnades when I need to offer some range. I feel like I Macgyver when it comes to filling roles. I was just hoping for a little more substance to my end game. I don’t NEED a carrot on that stick to keep playing. It’s just nice to have one is all.
I’m kind of at a loss here. As my thief I feel plenty of incentive to keep playing. I can keep earning gold to continue my professions to eventually craft ascended weapons. Gather mats and karma to eventually get my first legendary. Even work to getting that ascended fractal back piece, or perhaps the quiver if I decide to.
With engineer though, it seems like those aspirations are somewhat fruitless paths. I’ll pretty much never see my weapons and the damage upgrades they deal will provide me little benefit outside the ever so slight increase in stats. I won’t be able to see the fractal back piece. The legendary shield and pistol are largely inappropriate to how an engineer should look (highly opinionated I assure you). The Rifle looks plenty cool, but again… I will never use/see the bloody thing.
All in all, I feel like I have next to no reason to keep playing my engineer. What keeps you guys going? What long term goals do you have for yourselves that I could maybe strive for?
Just keep playing? Clearly you are having fun playing the game. Just because you are happy, doesn’t mean something is wrong. You will burn yourself out at some point. It happens to everyone.
i like the silver doubloons now.
i have a level 33, level 21, level 21 parked at sharkmaw cavern jumping puzzle chest and i enjoy the occasional silver doubloon sales.
i still got 3 more character slots.
gonna make 2 more level 21s and park them there. The ‘instant level 20’ scrolls you get for each of your characters’ first birthday/anniversary are amazing for doing that.
One click and about 20 minutes on the Queensdale champion train and you can drop a new character off at the Sharkmaw Magnificent Chest forever.
hahahah yeah that’s what i do.
however, i use a +20 level scroll and then do some personal story quest. then level 21. then park there until i feel like i wanna see more of the personal story again ahah.
i do not enjoy joining champ zerg trains.
That’s what I’ve been doing. I have managed 7 level 21s parked at the chest to farm them daily. It’s an awesome way to make a little gold for doing pretty much nothing at all. Even if I don’t feel like playing that day, I can still make some progress. I would be sad to see that taken from me, but at the same time I do need to acknowledge that it is a bit of a messed up situation that a level 20 bracket item is required for an end game goal.
However, it is not impossible to acquire at 80 without alts. Certain bags drop em, TP supplies them, the MF can gamble for them, and level 20 bracket JP chests can contain them (you do not always get loot for your level, sometimes you get it at the maps level). Although it is unarguably more efficient to just park low level alts for them.
I personally find greens a fair bit more ideal since the quality of gear takes kind of an important role in the formula with how many stats you are aloud to keep in lower level maps. It’s just a quality of life thing for me.
Also, yes. Get used to buy orders fast. Patience does pay off in the long run.
The common mentality in this game for a while now is that the best defense is a good offence. People usually stack as much damage as possible and rely on reflexes to keep them alive. In that kind of environment, sword and board might not be the most optimal. Remember, no tanks. Which means damage mitigation is going to be generally lacking, but not impossible. A shield really acts more as a control offhand weapon then it would as some kind of damage sponge. The blocking ability has generally such a long cooldown that it is not something to really rely on.
Overall though, play what you like the most. Don’t let others dictate how you should enjoy the game, but of course; it never hurts to learn from the experience of other players so that you won’t repeat their mistakes.
edit: Sent you some starting cash and some bags in your mailbox. I suggest you keep your gear updated to your level at least every 10 levels and no higher than green quality. At least for 1-79

I’m not new to MMOs, and definitely not new to the action oriented type of MMOs so it’s not like I’m gonna suck at it.
Let us know how much that prior experience helps you much here The game plays very differently to what you might have experienced in the past. Your health can and will drop very fast in many instances. Sometimes even one shot you. Just remember to not get frustrated and dodge things as best as you can. I’ll be online later tonight for my graveyard shift if you’re planning a late night session in case you have any questions on the fly.
Good luck!
Even if they won’t be, but I highly think they will, you can always pick up the recipes from the trader. They aren’t account bound.
Honestly, I think food is fine as is.
Also, when I read the title, I was sort of expecting to see a post where the OP was requesting food.. like, we send food.. to the OP… Food to OP.
Kinda thought the same thing.
*too
Stay in school kids.
I would love an invite to this great community! Teq has mocked me for the last time!
The concept alone is perfectly justifiable, but unless they find a way to police this better, I fail to see any reason for them to allow it. Especially when they only make it MORE difficult on the guy getting screwed by needlessly wiping all party chat once you are removed from the group. If anything, they are only supporting this bad behavior by not only turning a blind eye, but giving them the tools to do it by reducing the risk of repercussion.
It’s to encourage people to actually contribute actual thought in their responses.
Things like “this, ^, lol, agreed, etc” contribute practically nothing to the conversation.
If it made any sense from a lore standpoint, sign me up. However, I’m just not convinced such a group of people has any place in the story. You also need to keep in mind that with how Anet made their game, you need a class that fits with ALL five races to some degree. To be honest, Necromancer kind of pushes it, but it’s pretty much grandfathered in at this point and is kind of just hand waived. “oh, that guy just resurrected my deceased grandmother and mutilated her corpse into a nightmarish floating scorpion thing, completely devoid of all skin, yet somehow with completely intact, beating organs out in the open for the world to see. Well, at least she’s contribution to the good fight!”
I actually wouldn’t mind a Snowflake node.
Trouble is, there’s 6 different types of snowflakes, and I may not necessarily want the T6 one all the time.
That just raises the question: what WOULD a snowflake node look like…? An ice block?
I agree, I was looking forward to getting a second chance at the first story. I missed out quite heavily from Halloween due to extreme burn out of nonstop playing at the end of Aug and most of Sep because the game just came out.
4 times now it hasn’t let me in. I tried it early, I tried it late. I tried it on the spot, every time it hasn’t worked. This is getting VEEERY irritating.
He skinned people alive. I don’t care how crazy you are, that’s pretty twisted.
Uhg. I couldn’t agree more. The mask is insanely boring. It also kind of contradicts the over the top mood the whole event sets up too.
One thing they could do is make different clocktower jumps.
And you always teleport into a random one so it’s not the same way up every time.Because after a while you just remember every single jump.
And you can almost do it blindly.Just like fractal paths that are randomly generated (like dredge paths).
But then different ways in clocktower!
I would prefer they just add a new tier. For me at least, it’s much more fun to struggle initially until I finally get it just right. They give you incentive to do it daily after all. Would be a pain in the butt if I couldn’t improve at it.
Don’t worry about it. More likely than not, your projections are wrong.
A graph of vertical progression in GW2! Kill it with fire before it breeds!
im pretty sure somewhere they said that theyd never make a jumping puzzle this hard ever again
Not to be that guy, but the tower wasn’t really as hard as people make it out to be. People are probably a lot more acclimated to them at this point. I’m sure people will have a much easier time this year around.
not to be that guy, but i gave up after about 12 hours (not all in a single day) of trying
God forbid they give everyone something and not just cater to people who drag the difficulty of the game down. Liadri was one of the best things to happen to the game (though her execution could have been largely improved) and I hope they add hardcore portions of their living story more often. Just because it’s there doesn’t mean everyone is entitled to completing it. You don’t give everyone in the Olympics gold medals just for showing up.
Here’s my rebuttal: http://www.empoweringparents.com/arguing-with-your-opinionated-child.php
It’s all in the delivery. If you can’t make your point in an adult, educated manner, then Anet is more often then not just going to ignore it. Acting like a child and throwing a tantrum when things don’t go your way is no way to win any arguments. The problem here is that a very large portion of the forum community can not produce an intelligent critique without sounding like an entitled child.
You are correct; praise can be just as harmful as a toxic post, but that does not mean that Anet cherry picks all forms of the prior and lumps all critiques into the latter.
Also, Just because your complaint is not directly addressed does NOT and I can’t stress this enough here, NOT mean they are not listening. There are things going on behind the scenes that we have no idea about. They try to keep us in the loop as best as they can, but they can’t inform us about every single meeting they have with their staff over how the game will develop. Such a task would require more manpower then necessary and would only slow down their own process ultimately damaging the game in the long run.
im pretty sure somewhere they said that theyd never make a jumping puzzle this hard ever again
Not to be that guy, but the tower wasn’t really as hard as people make it out to be. People are probably a lot more acclimated to them at this point. I’m sure people will have a much easier time this year around.
“Your Mad King says: be more emotional than Trahearne. Congratulations, rock, you pass.”
Except that Trahearne’s very emotional.
Too easily depressed in some cases. He’s just monotonous as all hell (his primary failing).
You try spending nearly your entire life (20+years) in Orr. The smell alone aught to make you want to kill yourself.
I do appear to be missing the dodge blur effect.
Meh. Sometimes I just cant understand people. For those of us who love to be punished? Induce more stress? Why would someone play games to get punished and to experience stress? I’m getting too old for this kitten :/
Some people have actually gotten pretty good at the tower last year and would like to see another tier of difficulty this year rather than just a repeat of something they already cracked.
What exactly is this charity going toward? Also, I dunno. I think doing all that might take more than 28 hours. Especially given the fatigue that would accumulate toward the second half. The path might be straight, but the land isn’t flat. It’s all a gradually steepening hill.
It’s not about the appearance. It’s the smell of victory that emanates from them.
They are only for play. It’s unfortunate. You feel so accomplished. thinking tou uncovered a secret, but ultimately get hit with disappointment.
Nice! Can we get a screenshot? God if there were only more hours in a day, or that we needed less sleep. I expect world 2’s zones are going to feel like a marathon in comparison to 1 ><
I am kind of curious though, World 1 seemed naturally wide open and easily done with several possible paths. 2 seems much more linear. Not really sure what to expect.
