This is EXACTLY what I have been worrying about as well. This should be a fun thing that brings small communities together, not a nightmare to manage event where the guild leaders have to worry about keeping everyone happy. I just wish the reward was a little less strict with the once a week reward system. It kind of hinders the chances a guild will keep running it regularly to ensure everybody got their weekly reward. (event exp for helping is hardly an incentive)
Did this back in WoW frankly, but those runes deff make it easier to identify pieces. Still though…
This is like realizing you have an essay due today, but you did absolutely nothing with it for the whole month it was assigned. Then, you complain to the teacher that it was too much work and there was no way you could knock it out in a day, despite its design to have been completed in a months effort.
See, that’s the thing. It feels mandatory, but it really isn’t. Missing your monthly really doesn’t hinder you. You might feel like you will fall behind other players, but consider for a moment just how exactly that could be the case? There is no rush to gear up for end game content. Just because you want something does not mean you need something.
There is already a lot to do each day. Personally I don’t mind the barrier. It motivates me to log in to get it done. If it was just another endless thing I could spam, I would probably never end up doing it.
Hearts are your main source of exp grinding. The Story is mostly just there to offer a little something different to do every off level. It isn’t there to level you up. Don’t be afraid to jump between zones as needed to find hearts you can do. Even the lower level zones. You will still have a shot at getting level appropriate loot in lower level zones, but there will still be a small chance at lower level loot as well. The exp and karma however, will remain reflectively unchanged.
Also, when you hit 30, you will be high enough to do your first dungeon, Ascalon Catacombs story mode. Check out the website www.gw2lfg.com to get yourself a group for it. You can party with people cross server, so do not fret about who you join with.
Didn’t they say these guild missions could be accomplished by randoms helping out? Unless I’m misinterpreting it here. Also, why do you NEED all 8 slots geared to the teeth? Is someone pointing a gun at you? Will it leave you fulfilled? MMOs games are about the journey, not the destination. If you want instant(hollow) gratification, go hack some single player game.
Home instance? What the heck are you guys talking about?
Server matters little as you can always guest to two different servers every 24 hours. In essence, all the servers are all just one server. Especially since you can cross server party with people for dungeons.
Just to clarify…the above is true except in regards to regions. Meaning that you must be in the same region (EU / NA) to guest onto another server.
I guess it was just my assumption that if you live in the US, it would go without saying you would join the US servers. In the long run, it is better to know you will be able to actively play when the rest of the community is as well.

i was comparing it to /say, which doesnt broadcast to the entire map, just the immediate area.
which has absolutely nothing to do with what the OP is asking. No one is talking about how the chats work.
I doubt botters worry about farming pre 80. They likely just want it to get to 80 with as little suspicion as possible. The less reports on the road to 80, the less likely they are to pop up on the radar. Makes much more sense for it to be a bot then for it to be a player. Then again, I often underestimate the sheer insanity some people manage to muster… Still, that seems like behavior reserved for a player that’s been playing for years, not 6 months.
Indeed, it is per character. As for it being worth it? At first it is, but I hear a good deal of complaints that those pristines really start to snowball on you quick. At the moment there is no way to liquidate them after you get your rings. Great if you want your ring asap, but in the long run it matters little.
That sounds really boring. I had a character farming low level mats in the starting instance back when they allowed that and it took FOREVER to level up. I can’t imagine staying in there to level, especially if there is no title to be gained by doing it.
I think some people like to do things like this just to find out if they can.
That’s putting it mildly. Back in Ragnarok Online in ages past, some masochistic people liked to level novices all the way to the cap. It was so brutal and popular that it even spawned the Super Novice class. The different there however was that people got bragging rights.. this right here is just flat out lunacy.
Maybe it is a bot and they think the safest, least suspecting place Anet will find them is in the starting maps.
Mathematically, no. There is no cap.
Correct. You will also only receive a reward of level 9 despite doing it at 10. Which means you need to earn the right for a chance at getting the rings to drop.
My theory is that it was put in this way to name and shame people who actively click their skills. Keyboard turning is bad!

In-game Infractions
The following will result in either a temporary account suspension or permanent account termination, depending upon the severity of the matter:
Inappropriate in-game behavior, such as obscene, offensive, or racist talk or behavior; abuse of another player; harassment; etc.Selling or buying a Guild Wars 2 account, in-game item, service or gold for real-world currency in a manner not authorized by Guild Wars 2 and us; selling a Guild Wars 2 account for in-game currency; aiding others in such transactions, or advertising the intent to commit such acts
Selling or buying Guild Wars 2 or account related services of any kind for real-world currency in a manner not authorized by Guild Wars 2 and us
Repeating in-game chat to an excessive degree (“spamming”)In-game linking to inappropriate sites, including those offering bots, macros, or other inappropriate third-party programs, or those related to selling or buying accounts, items, services or in-game gold in a manner not authorized by Guild Wars 2 and us
Taking advantage of another player (“scamming”) in order to take his/her items or accountAccessing another player’s account in order to take or delete characters or items
Abusing game exploits
Advertising cheats, hacks, or exploits
Using, developing, releasing, or promoting a “bot,” cheat, or exploit program
Engaging in PvP match manipulation, disrupting a PvP match by not actively playing in good faith, or any other form of PvP griefing, exploitation, or abuse
Since sharing macros is considered infraction worthy, utilizing one would probably be frowned upon as well.

I didn’t know the collectable tab was shared. That’s a good idea. What about money, how can i transfer it from my old character to my new? and thanks for the replies
It’s a double edged sword. It makes things incredibly convenient, but at the same time it makes the bank undeniably easy to fill up.
thank you all for the awesome answers.. I guess my next question would be.. What are some incentives to keep playing at 80?
DA pretty much hit the nail on the head. This game is really rather casual and can be a difficult concept to wrap your head around. It just takes a little time to acclimate to the style. It is surely not for everybody, but if you’re willing to give it a chance, it can be a heck of a lot of *fun.
*a bizarre concept, where one feels the desire to play a game out of enjoyment, not obligation.
Perhaps, but wouldn’t it be better to at least know?
I mean it would be a lot nicer to know exactly what the issue is in the 1st place. Thanks for the reply.
It would be nice. Sadly, that’s not how most people respond to negativity. If someone is being obnoxious in public, chances are most bystanders are just going to avoid eye contact and act like that person isn’t even there. We are a shy lot, and often choose to cover our eyes and ears rather then deal with the problems at hand.
I apologize if you took offense. It isn’t my place to judge someone I have never met.
For the most part, no. Gear does not matter. You will want to keep your set updated as you level up so you can still tackle the newer zones, but outside of that, it’s pretty much skill based. As DA said, your gear should reflect your choice in traits. The best way to get an edge over other players is to properly utilize the stats that reflect your chosen build.
I get the feeling there is more to this story then we are led to believe. Could be intentional, or simply obliviousness. People have the right to revoke contact if they feel annoyed. There are some irritating people out there and quite frankly, we should be aloud to choose who we talk to. Perhaps you were a little overly aggressive in how you communicated with these people? If a good number of people choose to cut off contact with you, perhaps it isn’t them that is the problem, it’s you?
Games do not uninstall themselves. You sure you don’t have an overly attached spouse? A tech-savey mom?
I do think its ridiculous.
The only way to get higher up in FoTM is to get Agony Resistance and the only way to do that is to get fine infusions. It’s ridiculous, they seem to expect that their entire player base is full of people with 100+ gold. Nevermind that a lot of us only have around 10g.
If you want people to play the game don’t put gigantic walls in front of their faces. Mystic Forging for gear/infusions is probably the only major complaint I have about the entire game…
You don’t need to even buy the expensive stated AR infusions. You can just get the easily attainable +5 infusion at a cost of very easy to farm relics. The cost of efficiency does not lie with the infusion. No, that lies with the items you need t upgrade to get them their passive AR.
I understand the need to blame, but please, point fingers to what deserves it.
Strange, all the posts vanished?

Actually it is several of those things you claim it isn’t. I highly disagree, I have seen it work exactly as described in the article.
I see, thank you. Uhg… have fun paying for those runes. Kind of wonder how long it would take for them to pay for themselves.
I personally like to go to the Blazeridge Steppes zone at the Brokentooth Waypoint (Northeast from where the Shatterer spawns). and fight branded scorpions to the left of the waypoint. They ALWAYS attack at range and shoot very easily dodgable spine attacks. Each one hits twice, so dodge one and you get credit for 2 every time. Even the laggiest player in the word should be able to get it from these things.
Gilded, especially if you run dungeons. You can rock a solid 105% with 20 from the infusion, 15 from the armor runes, 40 from food, 30 from the booster.
Could you go into a little more detail on how you get it that high?
Congratulations on the epic.
Windows 8 works fine with me. I see absolutely no difference from going from 7 to 8 in my experience. If you are upgrading solely for that reason, you might be disappointed. What really matters is a good processor. This game is for what ever reason, a lot tougher on the CPU then the GPU.
Also, just a little side tip, look into getting Classic Shell if you want to retain the old start menu. Windows 8’s new start menu is incredibly inefficient…
I believe I recall dying on an alt sometime on a beta weekend. I was completely broke when it happened. The WP was actually free when I needed it to revive from if I remember correctly.
I see many people hating on RNG.
BUT..
Life is based on RNG. Your conception was RNG. Out of 375 million sperm cells, one only get to fuse with one eggcell and formed you.
1/375000000. that’s still worse than the mystic forge.
That would make me the… and the mystic forge a…
Suddenly this game needs a higher ESRB
You can still come back after the party kills the boss. What’s the problem here? It was fundamentally flawed in design to be able to res rush bosses. It cheapened the encounter.
Hell, they can even res you mid fight.
It’s been said time and time again by Anet that it does not affect chests. Random chance does not dictate it as fact.
On a side note, I rarely see rares sell for 2 gold a pop, and I still heavily disagree on making 20 gold from a single run, unless the planets align.
Also different fractal reward levels.
That is true, but is also inconsequential. His examples ironically shows more loot out of a lower level fractal. Again, just an unlucky coincidence. Clearly he wasn’t wearing his lucky underwear that run.
Magic find does not affect chests. What you got were merely coincidence.
Also, 6-20 gold is a huge assumption here. Those exotics that might seem to go for the high 10s of gold, don’t really sell… All you end up doing is wasting money on expensive posting fees as you continue to get undercut.

@OP It might be best to include your original post in your native tongue. Some people might be able to respond to you in a more comfortable and coherent way. As hard as it is for us to understand your post, you make it 100 times harder on yourself trying to translate our replies.
Shouldn’t the price for a precursor go down over time as more people acquire them? I don’t see the logic in their cost getting any higher. Especially if we have another event that awards them.
All the links seem to come up as “Bad links”.
Yeah both zones are identical it seems. If you aren’t seeing any NPCs following the paths, signs to fix, or simply no stars on your map, your server is bugged and you gotta guest elsewhere.
Yeah I guested over to Gate of Madness and it is working fine. Seems like some servers are just broken.
Not on Sea of Sorrows. There are sign posts and burnt out fires. However, noone can interact with any of them. There aren’t any roaming NPCs making the trek to the BC either.
Where exactly? There are no stars on my map indicating where to go.
Yeah I am lost too. No letter at all.
The tooltip just says gear. At no point does it hint at it only being armor.
You could try both considering you have no real option of choosing one or the other. One costs gold, the other time.
I never had any problems outside of EQOA either myself. I really do not think it is on their end unfortunately considering you are the first person I am hearing to have the problem =\ Best of luck to you. Hope it gets resolved soon.
