Check out Operation Union
I really wish they would implement letting you see your own title/name/star. I can’t imagine it would take that much effort and I don’t know why it hasn’t happened yet.
Ranger is my main – don’t listen to the haters, they can be fun.
Ranger is my main too, and it’s a lot of fun. But when I alt to my warrior or guardian, it’s like flipping a switch which puts the game in easy mode. Encounters where I’d have to dodge, strafe, pet swap, and use all my skill as both a ranger and a player to defeat, my warrior can just stand there and bash everything to death with just a few skill button presses.
Since I play for fun not for loot, I prefer the ranger. But the haters are right that Anet needs to fix up the class.
But see, I like being more active, so “fixing” it for other folks would break it for me. I have an alt for when I don’t want to work too hard.
The majority of rangers disagree with you because they’re tired of their class being plagued with so many broken, useless traits and skills, being pigeonholed into only a select few weapons, and having to deal with crappy pet AI.
The transmutation still works
You could try Blood Dye xD
Boon duration affects all boons that you give, so yes it affects allies.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Boon_Duration#Related_items
It doesn’t effect food
I’ll check this out and see how it works. Thanks for the effort
You should check out Operation Union’s thread and guild.
I’ve heard they’re very friendly
Yes, there is. You can use the transmutation trick to get the skin onto a white item and give it to your other character, and then transmute an exotic onto it to get the stats you want.
There is a specific process to do this that I don’t know offhand though. Google transmutation trick or wait for someone else to post the method
That guy looks absolutely epic xD
It looks like heavy armor (there are spikes n’ stuff) so I would guess maybe… fluff, silver, gunmetal, iron, or some form of gray dye like that.
No. Make your own.
However, you won’t be a able to take a hit for quite a long time, so using staff and kiting around everything is a pretty good way to go for general PvE as you’re levelling.
The most common choice is going dagger/dagger and putting 30 in Arcane trait line for constant switching through attunements which constantly gives boons. But the play styles available for the jack of all trades Elementalist are seemingly limitless, experiment around, find strategies you like, and for the love of god don’t just mindlessly follow someone else’s build.
You’re way too worked up over using someone else’s build…
There is absolutely nothing wrong with using a build crafted by a well-versed theorycrafter, and in fact all 6 of my 80’s use multiple crafted builds by well-respected build crafters.
Originality is great, but I want a build that os optimal. My own “personal” touch doesn’t make a build optimal.
Walls can be damaged by AoE (i know one of my 80’s has some sort of skill that did like 22 damage a tick, but i can’t remember since it was a while ago) but it’s such a small number you’re not breaking down a wall any time soon
Saying i’m bad because I only play with 80’s is crap. While you may have personally experienced that, you don’t have the right to generalize everyone to fit your narrow little view of a game played by thousands of people.
the amount is abit touchy atm
basically because with really high MF you can get lower drop rates this is due to the fact you are rolling on rarer items
here is the thread that discusses this
seems like the general consensus is dont get too much
I wouldn’t listen to that thread. The guy is basing that off personal experience without any kind of proof. He doesn’t even prove (not that he could) that anything he said was even true. It means virtually nothing.
I enjoy rune of the citadel on my warrior
A pit fighter set can be bought in the TP iirc
Find 4 warriors and group with them. Watch things DIE… cough yeah. Die.
Crits are actually 1.5 but that doesn’t change the math xD
IMO the warrior is boring: if i were in ANET’s position i’d have made the 1st game without a boring warrior: using as special ability combos.(attack 2,then attack 3,again attack 3 to apply the combo status, then one of the aviable finishers. or something like that)
However, right now it is,IMO,the most boring class.
I’d rather go guardian, but i prefer more articulate(does this word exist?) gameplay, such as ele, engineer and mesmer.
Believe me, guardian isn’t anymore complicated or engaging… in fact, I use less skills on my guardian then I do on my warrior.
And if the OP is expecting rangers to be more interesting…well…i can say in my opinion, of course, that they’re even worse, although that might be because their class is designed atrociously and ANET refuses to fix the kitten issues.
I’ve seen this argument 3 dozen times already. Can we not go over the same crap again?
Because it’s a no-subscription game. If you want the look, spend money. If you don’t, don’t. But it’s probably one of their top constant earners
Healing signet turns you into an unkillable machine. Use skillpoints to buy it and replace your current heal.
You don’t need to constantly move to survive regular fights. I could solo 5-8 same level mobs on my warrior by just standing there and cutting them down. Granted that was in my 30’s but low-level warrior shouldn’t be much harder.
And my GS warrior certainly doesn’t sit there and auto-attack. I use all 5 skills generally when they’re off CD. The real auto-attacking weapons are MH sword or MH axe
I have about 50% completion on 6 characters and 1 has 90% and i have ~30 – 40 of them. Never had to buy them.
I’d say grind out some mid-level maps or farm for cash
My survivor is intact. If they did the slayer reset to allow for laurel rewards, I hope that any completions from now on will count — as it would be very hard not to kill just one centaur or bandit, etc.
Well considering achievement rewards aren’t in the game (MAYBE the Feb 26 patch), you won’t be getting anything right now.
so it dont light up the whole map and give you waypoints or anything?
…How did you even come up with this idea?
You can do it infinitely
Use skillpoints to buy the signet heal. Then, faceroll to 50. It’s THAT powerful.
Also, try Axe/Axe or GS. Sword as a MH isn’t really the best for anything but a condition build at 80. An A/A or GS setup will give you much more damage
I think this is easier then the plant one
AFAIK oakhearts and all variants count as plants. There’s at least 3 derping about in the same spot of gendarran, and a skillpoint that spawns 3 more right next to them.
Also there are a multitude of them throughout the game. Just kill them whenever you see them, i’m already up to 300 something plant kills.
You need to kill far more of the plants though, no? Or is it 1000 giants at the max as well?
I think this is easier then the plant one
If you’re not actually botting they’ll unban you within a few days, so you won’t lose anything but access
As much as it sucks that you were mistakenly banned, I don’t agree that you should be given your laurels, and they have no obligation to do so.
Although my opinion doesn’t really matter
when you say “no pistols” and such, i assume your holing other items instead with same amount of precision?
as sigil of accuracy currently does not effect hero panel
Thanks for the replies, LithePanther and Dasorine. Hahaha, the loss of precision from the pistols was exactly what was causing the change in my crit chance display. :P Don’t know why that didn’t occur to me.
Good to know. So I shouldn’t expect to see my 5% in the hero panel but one (not both) of my sigils are working. Time to decide on a different sigil to put on one of the guns.
Thanks!
Right, since the other guy mistyped and it doesn’t appear, you won’t see the different. But the one sigil does work, but 2 don’t
when you say “no pistols” and such, i assume your holing other items instead with same amount of precision?
as sigil of accuracy currently does effect hero panel
It does? Ah, my mistake. I know that most sigils and runes don’t, so I didn’t expect it would do so
I have a theory that some people buy whites/blues to turn into higher tiered items, and eventually get exotics. Just speculation though…so take it with a grain of salt.
That’s an extremely inefficient and probably cost-ineffecicent way of doing that.
What a lot of people seem to forget about MF is it increases the quality of your loot. Therefore, you should end up getting more whites/blues at 80 which can salvage into ori which can be sold more more money. I believe my MF set has paid for itself tenfold, but i’ve never done any kind of testing or chart to be able to say that backed by evidence.
That’s very strange, because sigils normally do not effect your hero panel.
But the math has shown they don’t stack, so unless this was changed in a recent patch they don’t stack and I have no idea why you’re seeing they do
why would you want aoe at target location? it would miss moving targets.
there are aoe effects like mesmers feedback that have no targeting and works at target location. i find it highly disadvantageous. because i need to carefully select target. likewise with ground targeting aoes i can just point mouse in that direction and cast it (with smartcast on, a.k.a. fast ground targeting somewhere in options). The OP is talking about ground-cast skills. There’s no way to make them not ground cast, typically. He’s just asking if there’s a way to ground-cast that isn’t dependent upon the mouse.
That kind of defeats the purpose of AoE… plus even if that was possible, most AoE attacks take time to cast/travel so whenever your target would be moving, you would miss because you didn’t aim ahead in your target’s path…
Bottom line… impossible and even if it was possible would be a terrible idea most of the times (unless you’re face tanking everything on a guardian)
What the OP is talking about is already an implemented feature (not only possible but already done), so I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Frankly it typically works quite well.
In response to the OP’s question, I don’t believe there is any way to designate your ground-cast targets without the mouse. Much of the mouse-related controls are not configurable in virtually any way. Fast-cast targeting will eliminate the need to click, but you’ll still need to indicate your target area through cursor placement.
Actually, you’re wrong. What the OP wants is a way to have his AoE’s automatically occur at his target, which is not in the game nor any other MMO i can think of, because that DOES defeat the purpose of an AoE insofar as you can control where it is.
You have to keep the skin, but you can change the stats and the upgrade
It is entirely random based on what type of weapons and armour that profession can equip.
AKA not friggin’ worth 5 Laurels.
Well maybe not NOW when the rarer stuff has yet to be gotten, but in 3 months when everyone has everything they want then it becomes an ok money maker
Hm. Iirc it’s somewhere in the chat settings but i’m not 100% on that
Best way to handle gear is to buy blues from the TP every 3-5 levels and then vendor it for almost as much as you paid.
Salvage blue and white gear. The stuff you get from salvage is worth equal money to the money you would get from vendoring the gear
They need to be on your friends list
since the hint is under PvP and not WvW it should be rather obvious it is the spvp map with the treb in it (not playing enough spvp to really remember the name of the map though)
Except that I’ve completed everything else except that one, and I’ve never done any PvP other than WvW?
Which is why you don’t have the hint, since according to the other guy you need to do sPvP to get the hint instead of WvW
If you use crafting boosters, you can get ~12 levels a profession, which means you only need to level 7 out of 8.
Also, Huntsman is the most expensive iirc
it’s frightening to me that someone is even considering to not purchase the tome. if money is your concern, you will have more than enough money just through normal play. i personally wouldn’t want someone in my party who doesn’t have their full trait or bonus stats potential. i wonder how many people actually ask this question for their character….
Well, not every build has to grandmaster a line, and if you don’t want to waste the gold on it at the time for your build, then so be it. If at some point you need to redo the build and grandmaster it then go buy the tome, it’s not rocket science. No need to flip out over someone not buying the silly book. I know for several of my characters I didn’t buy a grandmaster book, because honestly I had no need to, my build did not require me to grandmaster a line. One day I might want a new build that does use it, and if so, I’ll go buy the book. Traits are not what determines the majority of your stats, gear is.
I have never seen an effective build for any of my 80’s that doesn’t involve a grandmaster trait. It might exist, but it’s certainly not as effective, at least in my own experience.
There are a ton of very useable and strong builds for engi, necro, ele, guardian, and prob many others that don’t use grandmaster. I looked up GW2 builds on google and found most of them in about 3 mins, some of them I already use.
I don’t dispute that they exist, but I guarantee you that any build not using grandmaster is outclassed by a build using grandmaster, except maybe in the case of builds that try and focus on specific niches or some such thing like that.
