I would not recommend using D/D for the things you mention, D/D is much better suited to general environment PVE. You will lose some of the nice damage capability attempting builds that opt for survivability needed to support up close play in WvW & Dungeons at the cost of vital crowd control.
This statement could not be more wrong. I use D/D Exclusively in WvW and in Dungeons, I rarely die in either. I still retain enough damage and survivability to win ANY 1v1 in WvW even most 2v1’s and sometimes more. As for dungeons, again no problems whatsoever.
And if your saying that D/D has no crowd control, then you don’t understand the weaponset at all.
It is a PvP zone, expect to get ganked, zerged, griefed etc…. If you don’t like it, go do the PvE puzzles or just go do PvE, I don’t get this mentality of crying because you get killed/zerged in a PvP area. Saying it is against the ToS is the sillyiest thing I have heard yet. If you REALLY want to do the puzzle, get some friends and go fight them, this is not a single player game afterall.

D/D is essentially a melee weapon set, you really need to have some degree of tank considering you have such low natural toughness/vital. I run Knights gear stacking power, precision, toughness, with Power, Precision, Vital Jewels/Accessories. I use 3 Earth Runes, 3 Runes of Speed and do just fine in dungeons and WvW. All my gear/accessories/weapons are exotic and honestly if I didn’t have toughness I would just melt in WvW. I run a 10 Air, 10 Earth, 20 Water, 30 Arcana setup, which I think most people run now in WvW on their Ele’s.
The other option I am considering is a full P,V,T setup which I am slowly gearing up for this will give me even more (hopefully) survivability, however I am worried about missing crit, will just have to see how it works out.
Well I use D/D in WvW and in dungeons / PvE Events and have absolutely no problems what so ever. Sometimes I need to go ranged for some of the bosses, mainly in CoE to make it easier to avoid the circles the boss put’s down.
I basically run with 10 in Air, 10 in Earth, 20 in Water and 30 Arcana. I take Zephrys Boon, Elemental Shielding, Soothing Disruption, Cantrip Mastery, Elemental Attunent, Renewing Stamina and Evasive Arcana. For my utilities I use Glyph of Elemental Harmomy, Mist Form, Lightning Flash, Cleansing Fire.
Gear wise I use all Knights gear with 3 Earth Runes and 3 Speed Runes, on my weapons it’s Sigil of Battle, Sigil of Accuracy all my gear / accesories are exotic.
This gives me permanent Swiftness, Protection on Aura use, Lot’s of regen, high uptime on vigure, lot’s of mobility. I can also still kill people while I have no burst (like warriors or thieves) I can apply a lot of sustained damage, have numerous CC options and you are more mobile than any other profession (yes even thieves) and you are very, very hard to pin down. My guild can testify this as about 10 of them couldn’t pin me down to kill me the other day lol (we had switched servers, I stayed on the old server to kill them for a while).
I rarely die in WvW (only if I’m really, really zerged or a group of 5 catch me with my cantrips on CD) and I don’t lose 1v1’s and rarely lose 1v2’s the only profession that came close to downing me was a condition necro, I had trouble cleansing :P
Your build is completely all over the place, you state that your thinking behind it is “Crit/Conditions” but you haven’t put many points into Air/Earth, it just doesn’t synergise. Also D/D requires you to be fairly tanky and extremely mobile as you are techincally operating at melee range. One with air does not work, with D/D you get 3 Aura’s so make sure you always take Zephr’s Boon for swiftness and fury, also consider taking Elemental Shield for protection on aura use or Earth’s Embrace, however I prefer protection.
You need to focus your stats more, focus on just 3 stats, for example, I run with Knights gear and the same on my jewelry so I focus Toughness, Power, Precision. Also think about your traits, try and get them to synergise with what you are trying to do.
More guilds have left to join them, Care (Mbit) being the latest. All because aNet allow people to transfer at will. We were barely able to put up a fight with these guilds, now they have left and taken a massive chunk out of the servers WvW playerbase, well I think WvW will be more or less dead. It is very, very frustrating as our guild Perdition (Evil) always tries to put up a good fight in WvW even though we do not have the numbers. Often we are 10 vs 40+, it’s very disheartening.
There is no hacker option cause it is very very very unlikely you saw a hacker. To hack the game you need a lot of skill and training. making a hack so you can change the skills of a warrior means you’ve hacked so deep you could as well add 1,000,000 gold coins to your account.
You prolly saw a glitch and would be reporting someone for nothing.
However….. All reports arebeing looked at. So any option will do. In this case botting would be the best pick cause the GM would not only look at chat but also at behaviour
I was not the only one who saw this and commented on it, there were about 20 people there who also so this player over the course of about 10 minutes, people were even following them and watching what they were doing. It was not glitching/lag, the player was teleporting/stealthing at will. They would come in and start attacking someone, then when they looked like they were losing they would blink/teleport away, they were able to move great distances instantly. And your comment regarding people being “skilled”, just type Guild Wars 2 Hacks into google and there are programs you can download right now, that hack the game.
Honestly I would have hoped that the community would actually side with people who genuinely saw someone who had hacked the game, instead everyone is saying that that we didn’t. Very frustrating.
The problem is, there is no hacking option, in the drop down menu “hacking” is not even mentioned as an option, there is NO hacking option displayed.
That’s the issue, it’s hardly botting when the player is blantantly hacking the game. There needs to be a method or reporting the player properly and formerly, from all accounts aNet do not seem to be doing anything about botting anyway as botters that have been reported numerous times (by many, many people) are still in cursed shore farming.
It’s also more serious if a player is hacking/exploiting in WvW, it needs a formal option to report the player.
Warriors do not get abilitities that warp them half way across the map, make them stealth and re-appear on full health, I don’t care how “skilled” they might be. This player was porting/warping/teleporting all over the place and they were doing so at will, whenever their health got low they would warp off and be literally miles away or dissapear then re-appear at full health. This was a warrior not a thief, nor mesmer, nor ele. It was NOT a gaurdian, warriors cannot teleport.
No profession can do what this player was doing, I discussed this with all the people that witnessed this and they all agreed the player was hacking and there were a lot of players that saw this and were asking the same questions. The question is, how do you report someone for hacking?

i probably play the same build that wrecked you, if played well you can really mess with people.. however I am not about to give away any secrets to this playstyle (it really isn’t rocket science) becuase outside of this particular spec, their isn’t really many other ways to play an ele and be viable.
Shocking Aura’s duration is only 5 seconds, it’s an obvious bubble effect on the ele, my tip…don’t spam abilities and you won’t stun yourself :P
What are you supposed to do, to report someone who is blatantly hacking? Myself and several other players came across a warrior tonigh who could teleport and stealth at will. Multiple players witnessed his, we have the players name, but how do you report it? There is no option to report someone who is hacking the game.
I have never really believed that peopel could hack this game, but I have never, never seen anything like this before (and mutlitple people witnessed this) and I’ve played since beta. Now, I am not one to point fingers and shout “hacks” but this was blatant hacking.
So how do people report this?

You cannot blame night-capping for the demise of Underworld. This server is it’s own worst enemy. No one works together, people do not make the effort to defend and hardly anyone claims/upgrades. As a result, more organised servers steamroll through our un-upgraded keeps/towers whislt upgrading there own.
The general lack of WvW co-ordination/organisation is what is killing peoples incentive to WvW not night capping. You can either make a choice, you can leave and go somewhere else where you “believe” things may work out better with more orgranisation/bigger WvW guilds to work with. OR you can stay, get organised, work with the other commanders and try and make a difference.
You chose what I would call “the easy way out”, good luck I hope you find what you are looking for elsewhere.
I play a thief, and can’t see myself playing any other class. There is no other faster class, period. I’ve played with 10 or so different skill builds and just the basic thief is more mobile than any other class in the game.
Actually, that is not true. A Dagger/Dagger Aura elementalist is faster and has more mobility (running mist form/lightning flash of course). A number of my guildies did speed races, Thief vs D/D Ele and the Ele won each time, it was close but the Ele still won. And I outrun thieves on my ele in WvW all the time
So the “stealth” class in an RPG is OP? … To quote Iago: “Oh, there’s a big surprise! That’s an incredible… I think I’m gonna have a heart attack and die from that surprise!”
They always start OP and I’ve about had it with the children that play them crying about nerfs. They’re going to happen. Its just like every FPS game and the grenade launcher. Starts out OP, gets nerfed, noobs cry, real gamers move on.
Anyone worth their salt can PvP with thieves very well without using Heartseeker, Pistol Whip+Haste, or Backstab. I’ve had many long, drawn out fights with thieves that used absolutely none of those skills and most of the time they still win because of the stealth mechanic.
Or maybe it’s because we’re sick and tired of being hit by nerfs that don’t even make sense? Any Thief worth his salt will admit straight up that Pistol Whip was (and to an extent, still is) OP when combined with Haste (our Quickness ability), but without it, it was a mediocre skill in PvP and an excellent skill in PvE.
So basically you’re upset about needless nerfs, but you explain how PW just got a needed nerf?
As I’ve said before, quickness is a problem. When and if they address it, they’re going to hit multiple classes, multiple builds, traits, and weaponry. They’ve got a lot to consider when changing quickness as opposed to changing one particular skill while using quickness.
Also, I know that I’m wasting my time here because you’re obviously either 8 years old or a troll, but have you ever actually rolled a Thief and played it for more than five minutes? Anyone who thinks that any aspect of the class is just a 2 or 3 button wonder is an absolute moron.
A moron is someone who thinks that thieves weren’t pressing ‘22222222’ to win until the Heartseeker nerf, and then weren’t popping Haste and pressing ‘33333333’ to win until the PW nerf. That was the whole reason for those nerfs. The thief was a button mash hero.
So when thieves are popping sin sig in stealth, hitting 1, and winning, seeing as how that’s a “3-button-wonder”, I would assume one of those buttons is getting a nerf.
Probably not backstab, probably sin sig.

You Sir hit the nail on the head. No class should be able to profit from spamming just one or two abilities, whether it’s a thief or not. I came across a thief last night that was impossible to pin down, I think he was a Pistol/Dagger condition build becuase his bleeds were hitting my ele for 100+ a tick. He played his class extremeley well and I have no problem losing to him, he was a far better player than myself.
But if somone pops up and pulls a cheese manouver on me with one/two abilities (Backstab is one of these) and takes of more than 1/4 – 1/2 of my health bar, yeah I’m gonna say something about that. PW + Haste was a perfect example of something being changed because it was nowhere near balanced.
I highly expect being completely immune to damage whilst being in stealth might be getting looked at, especially stomping whilst in stealth, it has no counter and needs to be changed.
The burst thieves that everyone is complaining about tend to run around alone looking for enemies running around alone. Simple solution for you, stop running around by yourself and and use some teamwork. WvWvW is meant to be a team endeavor if your getting bursted by thieves its because your running solo.
You know people do get caught on their own running back to a group/team… So what are you supposed to do? Wait till you get 5 freinds to run back with you so that a thief can’t appear and melt your face before you can react. Thives can still take on groups of 2 or 3 players and still get out alive.

With my current gear mostly exotics, I am sitting at around 2100 toughness, basically Knights gear.
I came across a thief running a P/D Condition build, I know how to play my class pretty well and do well against most characters but there was nothing I could do to this thief.
Every time I managed to pin him down he would stealth, appear and continue his Pistol 1 spam. Granted he played his class very, very well but I had no way of finding him or damaging him, not when he appeared to be able to stealth every couple of seconds and not take damage during his stealth.
A few more people turned up, then there were 4 of us that couldn’t pin him down, eventually the others got bored, he got me alone and killed me. How am I supposed to fight against a profession, that not only out dps’s me, but is also seemingly impossible to pin down and has better utility than I do?
Was a very frustrating fight, any tips would be appreciated.
PS The heartseeker spammer guys I can kill quite easily, it’s the one’s that know how to play which are impossible to kill.
My Ele is sitting at around 2.3k toughness when in earth attunement, I’ve been hit by a 8.9k Backstab, my health is around 13.4k, that is a hit for over half my health pool and I am stacking toughness…sureley they need the spike damage toning down a bit.
If I was in some kind of glass cannon spec with hardly any toughness, that probably would have one shot my character. When I look through my combat log in WvW, which I do regularly to see how much damage I am taking, the biggest hits are always from thieves, it’s usually Backstabs or Clusterbombs. I also do see big hits from warriors too, but mainly thieves.
Surely they have to hotfix this before Monday? They cannot expect people to put up with a broken game for a full 7 days, my guild has completely stopped doing WvW and that is pretty much all we do.
If they cannot fix this, ROLL BACK THE PREVIOUS PATCH.
Thieves not rendering got my vote… going from 100% to 20% to an invisible foe = broken
Who here knows the mechanics of stealth and thief? Im judging no one above.
The first hit from stealth is pretty much always for free and invisible and usually a backstab or backstab combo.A fully geared backstab that takes down another glass cannon with no toughness and no orbs and has the HP of a rabbit (or under lvl 80) is perfectly normal.
There are to many glass cannons saying they die to quickly…… thats the issue. Glass cannon is the thiefs favorite prey
I assume you play a thief, and therefor haven’t noticed it.
Spvp and wvw are different. Loading issues in mass pvp, and even when alone if the wvw world is lagging a bit, mean you don’t render after you break your stealth. 4-5s of “loading” invis every time you break your stealth.
Its an issue of visual culling and lag. Again, even with SSD here. There is often a large delay, or as mentioned server side culling.Yes I play a thief, and Ive killed 3000 people in WvW, a large part of them thiefs. And I didnt use stealth in my build. (Withdraw and RoI)
I have not noticed a rendering issue when killing thiefs that use stealth so must be something your end
Ive only died once from a thief in under two seconds: He used a back stab combo on me but was still able to get him to 5% health in 2 moves before i dropped in about a second flat as i saw him first and took the first move
Looked on youtube… No videos of this rendering issue either and no posts by dev acknowledging it. And lets be fair to Anet…. They acknowledge the issues players have raised pretty well
Where have you been? It’s all over the forums AND all over youtube, the rendering issue is a massive, massive problem in WvW at the moment. Makes thieves literally impossible to see, yet they can still hit you.

The fact they can hit you for insane amounts and you don’t even see them because they haven’t rendered (I have lovely fraps footage of being killed by a thief, they don’t render until I’m at about 10% health) and that they can stomp whilst stealthed which means it has NO counter. Needs nerfing.
Plus they are just very, very, annoying. Too much utility for that amount of damage.
Any from aNet apart from “We are looking into it?” WvW is essentially broken, I’m a fan of this game so far but this is really pushing it.
Can we have a response, as too what is actually going on? Becuase from where we are sitting, it looks like nothing much is happening. If cannot find the specific bug/issue you introduced, ROLL BACK the last patch so that WvW is at least working.
So let me get this straight. Your complaining about having little survivability, whilst in full DPS gear and complaining that you cannot take on 2-3 or more opponents and come out alive?
You cannot have your cake and eat it, what you are asking for, is to still be able to wreck faces while having a truck load of survivability. Well let me explain this to you, it;’s balanced. If you spec into full defence you will have a low damage output. If you spec into full DPS you will have low survivability, you cannot have it both ways.
Warriors are in a much better place than other professions, certainly in WvW. In fact most of the people in my guild run warriors in WvW and I have not heard one really complain about the profession.
Very very nice, it’s not easy to make S/D work like that.
I am sure that as more and more videos of elementalists comboing “blink” + churning earth we’ll get it savagely nerfed / removed though.
Not much the opponents can do to avoid it, so it’s OP.
How on earth (no pun intended) is it op? The damage it does it noe insanely high, it has a 4 second cast time and even if they do use lightning flash if someone tries to get out of range, you can STILL dodge roll it.
There are plently more abilities that other professions can do that have NO cast time and do more damage than Churning Earth, it really annoys me when people make statements about things being OP when they are clearly not.

At times you seemed to just be mashing buttons, with no actual thought to what you are doing, sorry if that seems harsh but that’s what it looks like, especially when you look at the way your keybinds are being mashed and the hammering sound of the keys lol
And you switch attunements way to quickly, if you had used proper rotations against those 3 players, you would have won a lot easier and faster. I have to comment on them though, you seemed to have found 3 of the worst PvPer’s ever OR they are newly rolled alts and are all sub level 10.
So basically, slow down a bit, think about chaining your skills more effectively and as someone else has stated, using combo fields for additional might stacks.

Why does a class have to be OP just because they beat you I’m a 1v1?? You might not be very good in 1v1 situations, they might have been awesome at playing mesmer (but as said earlier, against a good one you would be dead during the moa).
Some professions are just better at 1v1 situations, it does not automatically make them OP. Thieves for example are probably the best 1v1 profession closely followed by mesmer, a well played thief will rip you to shreds and you would barely scratch them, but they are not OP either.

All those saying that necros are “more” broken, head over to the necros forums there are nowhere near as many people complaining about that profession. In an mmo first impressions / early impressions count, so far a vast majority of the player base believe that ele’s are broken. I don’t believe that the profession is broken per second, but it needs a LOT of trait/bug fixes.
The only people who will be left playing this profession are die hards, the vast majority will either re-roll or quit. I have a level 80 mesmer and level 78 Ele, just for fun I rolled a warrior, at level TWO in WvW with a rifle I am out-damaging my level 78 Ele and have 6k more health…
It only works when in combat or when you have something targeted, also in earth attunement it casts the ability “Shockwave” instead of the ability on the tooltip “Churning Earth” . There are also range issues on abilities and sometimes they just don’t work (obviously factoring in the 10 second cooldown). I don’t expect it to be fixed anytime soon… I’m considering dropping the trait altogether.
The windborne dagger trait for ele’s is broken it does NOT apply any speed buffs. The fastest from my experience is a d/d ele, perma swiftness If trained correctl, mist form, lightning flash, ride the lightning. So far no one has been able to catch me in WvW (I have kited and escaped from groups of 20) if I run this spec, not even thieves.
No one can seem to keep up with me either lol
I play a d/d ele in WvW I cannot swap weapons during combat so nearly all my abilities are melee range with the exception of a few that are at 900. I still find ways of being useful in sieges there are plenty of things you can be doing instead of just pew pewing people on walls.
One class cannot have it all I’m afraid….
Get an ele, get 2 daggers, get following 3 cantrips: mist form, lightning flash and armor of earth. Set your traits to survivability. Now you run around with an enemy zerg behind you making a fool of them, total fun =D
Shhhh please don’t give away this little secret, my record so far is kiting about 20 Germans with my d/d speed ele lol I was so busy laughing at the 20 players who couldn’t catch me, that I ran straight towards durios and another 20 players who did catch me :p
I have never, ever seen a mesmer glitch into a keep/tower, that is not to say it does not happen, weird things happen sometimes when I use blink, like getting stuck into walls etc… If there is a legitimate bug/glitch then obviously it should be fixed.
However, aNet should NOT put a cap on portal, I bet nine times out of ten it is people not sweeping for mesmers. I hide in keeps/towers all the time if I can, no one sweeps for mesmers, they blast in and out then rage on forums when something gets re-capped because they were too lazy to spend 20 seconds scanning for players.
Bugs are part of major release especially of games in this scope. Even if the game wasn’t ready for release, crying about it now isn’t going tot change anything. If you have issues with bugs (we all do btw) but are not willing to deal with don’t buy an mmo until 3 months after its release.
elementalist only has a few bugs as compared to the necromancer and none of the elementalist bugs are class breaking. Also based on statement made by Jon, don’t bother expecting any balances for a LONG while.
So getting rooted to the spot when Ride the Lightning bugs out is not class breaking? Or trait’s not applying bonuses in various areas not class breaking? What about the various abilities that just don’t work…I guess they are not class breaking either, right?
There is a lovely thread stickied at the top of this forum, containing numerous things that are broken / bugged with this profession. Can we please have an answer to when these will be fixed?
I have just died (again) because Ride the Lightning rooted me to the spot, there are other problems with abilities not working when they are supposed to or going into cooldown but not actually working.
If I had a monthly subscription for this game, I would un-sub due to the state of this profession. I am seeing a lot of fixes for other professions (necro’s) being done at the moment and elementatlists are in a far worse state in regards to bugs/glitches.
I would rather they change it so that other people can’t pickup our weapons. If I’m running D/D in WvW (Which I love btw) I have Frost Bow as my ranged option, I use my 1st bow, to find that someone else has picked up my backup, therefore leaving me stood around lol. And no I won’t use staff, I hate it.
Any word from Arena Net on whether Elementalist will get ANY focus at all? I keep posting in game bug reports about the various traits and things that just don’t work properly. Can we have some feedback from Arena Net on whether these bugs will be fixed? Or are you still concentrating on fixing other classes first? I notice the Necro seems to be getting fixes and Elementalist are in a FAR worse state than Necros. Getting very frustrated with the lack of progress.
This has NOTHING to do with Mesmer portals, it is down to the game client rendering, which aNet have stated is the issue. There is nothing wrong with people using Mesmer portals for a tactical advantage, stop crying because you got outplayed.
Honestly I don’t know where to start, there are so many things that need fixing. I really love my elementalist but honestly, the will to log on and play it is fading fast. It would be nice if the broken / buggy abilities were fixed first, I think that’s the most important thing. Fix the class so abilities at least work, then look at the other problems.
I do not care if you are squishy or not, you should not be able to do that kind of DPS, I hope Arena Net watches your videos and balances Thieves. AoE Stealth Stacking needs to be changed and Thieves need to be toned down.
Guys, if you are asking for a weapon swap, then you do not understand how the Ele is supposed to work…They are not as bad as people are making them out to be and I hope that Arena Net does not make any wholesale knee-jerk changes to fundamentally change how the profession works.
Ele’s require some thought, you need to think about what weapons / playstyle that you like and build around it, you need to know what all your attunements do, what benefits you get, what combo fields, you have to think about what you are doing. I think a lot of people just don’t get the class and simply want to stand there spamming fireballs at people and expecting everything to die.
The profession certainly needs some tweaks as there are bugs with abilities, some traits don’t work properly etc… once those get ironed out, I actually think ele’s will be in a pretty good place.
I have a level 80 Mesmer, but I have tons of fun on my Ele even though I’m only level 63 on him and I doubt I will be playing my Mesmer any time soon.
I got hit for 14.1k (I do have a Screenshot of it) Kill Shot from a Warrior, that’s 14.1k out of my 19k health pool. Although I am not in full exotics (by no means is my gear awful), no ability should take off 3/4’s of your entire health pool in one hit. This was on my mesmer btw, god knows’ how hard I would have been hit if I was on my ele :P
On my mesmer, I got crit for 6.5k by a Blunderbuss, so far that’s the hardest any class has hit me for (in one hit) in WvW.
I am a pure WvW Skirmisher, I only run solo or in small groups and try and find fights 1 vs many. This is what I currently run:

I focus my gear on Crit – Power – Condition, I find that I don’t have to stack vital + toughness that much as I am quite difficult to pin down and have quite a bit of mobility from Blink, Temperal Curtain. GS is very good for skirmishing lot’s of insta-casts, knockback and cripple from Phantasmal Berserker.
I think 15 points in duelling is a must, Phantasmal Fury + Sharper Images gives you nice crits + bleeds on your target, I use my berserker as a “fire and forget” missile. There is no point in investing points + signets into increasing Phantasms health in WvW, they don’t last very long with all that AoE flying around, so I think of my phantasms as abilities as opposed to something I need to worry about keeping alive.
The 5 points in chaos are purely for the 10 seconds regen and the 20 points in inspiration are for buffing feedback.
Blink is required as a stun breaker and for mobility, Signet of Domination is for stopping runners and a bit of extra condition damage. I use Mass Invisibility as my elite, as it is on a fairly short cooldown and is good for getting yourself out of a sticky situation or giving yourself some extra time to recover if your taking a lot of damage.
Feedback is integral to my build, I take Glamour Mastery and Temporal Enchanter. If someone moves out of my Feedback bubble they then get some confusion to deal with, if they don’t…well they blow there own face up
The only thing I don’t like about this build is using the sword, purely because illusionary leap is very buggy and blurred frenzy sometimes does not hit targets even if your right on top of them. Blurred frenzy is awesome for defence though, if a warrior attempts the stun + hundred blades combo, blurred frenzy is useful for the evasion to avoid big hits. I hardly every use Phantasmal Warden it is too easy to avoid since it’s static, the only time I do use the warden is for a cleansing combo field from Temporal Curtain.
One more thing, I sometimes use Medic’s Feedback from the Inspiration tree, but I use it offensively, so if someone is downed and there are a few enemies pew pewing away at you, this gives a nice feedback bubble to reflect damage back, then dump another feedback on them and watch them cry

I watched the whole video and all I can say is…brilliant. Even though some of the players you were fighting were low level, you really show how the Ele can be played and you understand the class perfectly and you had a lot of fights against level 80 players.
I really enjoyed it, I might just dust off my Ele and go have some fun in wvw
After we take any keep / big objective, I say “Sweep for Mesmers”. I don’t come to the forums and complain about someone using a valid tactic, I make sure I don’t leave mesmer’s hiding in keeps…
I have seen them doing this, I am not in KDS and IT IS NOT AN EXPLOIT. It’s called tactics and using a mesmer’s strengths. They are probably a number of Mesmers either using veil or Mass Invisibility to cloak people, they are not exploiting they are using mesmers how they are intended to be used.
It is in no way an exploit or abuse of anything, it’s good playing. Here’s a tip, if you see them do it once, don’t all throw yourself back at the same keep/tower at exactly the same position so they can do it to you again.
The ability is very, very buggy. I am not sure if it has terrain pathing issues, I am aware of the range and I am well under 600, I cast it and the clone doesn’t appear but the ability act’s like it does. Other times i’ve used the switch and ended up in a defferent place to the clone, this needs fixing really.
This, whenever I group with other people I have to use a focus to try and keep up and use blink to try and get some extra movement. Every other class seems to have multiple movement enhancing boons/utility skills apart from the Mesmer.
And I am forced to use a focus in WvW, without it there is literally no way of keeping up.
People do not know how to play against them yet, they probably tab target around not paying attention to the easily spottable mesmer, get killed then promptly head to the forums and cry about it. I see players still spamming abilities while they have 5+ stacks of confusion on them, or ranged classes spewing out abilities with that big pink bubble around there head.
Stop being bad players and learn to counter, rather than coming to the forums and crying for nerfs, I really hope Arena Net does not listen to these people. The only thing that needs adjusting is Moa morph, if anything fix the things that are broken on the class and some of the signets that don’t work.
