Petition session?
I didn’t know you could petition to get unbanned.

The simple fact is, nobody likes being banned, especially for something they personally hate themselves.
Does the person who gifted you the game have the order number and order date still? Maybe can use that to help get you back the serial code from Customer Support.
I suggest getting a refund.
For what? Not being able to READ? lol the op is responsible, not Anet
Ideally for the sake of customer satisfaction, even if Anet is not at fault here, it’d be better to just give the items back.
Apparently other people are experiencing this problem.

4) go to the chantry of secret even if you have unlocked it before and see the magic happens.
Magic? Explain.
Ouch!
Yeah you’re gonna have problems trying to get them to sympathize and help you get items back. You can appeal and point out that you’re a new customer, and don’t want this bad experience to ruin it for you.

Logic would suggest there would be no problems using the mouse and keyboard, so as long as you’re not using them to conduct illegal activities. Let’s say I use the Logitech g13 keypad to do things that a regular keyboard does. Well then it’s really no different to using a regular keyboard.
Sounds possibly like corrupt data in your game files.
I know this works for Windows. You could try this:
Goto your game folder, copy-paste a shortcut of “Gw2.exe” and name the shortcut as “Guild Wars 2 Repair”. Right mouse click the shortcut you just made and go properties. From there, look down the window that just appeared until you see “Target:”. Next to Target: will be the address of the game. You will need to add -repair next to the address.
Now this changes according to where you installed the game, but for me it looks like this:
“G:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -repair
Make sure -repair is outside the “_”. Press OK and run the shortcut. The patcher should then do a check of your files and repair any errors.
I see, you do need this. And the game server didn’t give it…… this is bad. Since it was a server side error, you can file a ticket to request the item. HOWEVER I don’t know if they can send you the item.
Hello Parae
Has that ticket been active for 3 days or more with no response from customer support? If it has been 3 days or more and you’re still waiting, post that ticket number in the 3 Days and Older, Tickets for Review Thread. Usually customer support is quick to replying to tickets.
If you don’t receive your gift of exploration, you can’t make your legendary? =o

Well copyright to some obscure thing that nobody would even know about is absurd and stupid to enforce.
Also what happens if later on after making your name, the name becomes irl trademarked or copyrighted? Do we deserve a ban and name change now? That seems rather unfair.
Thanks Veeber, I hope the echo in this thread will drive the message home. =D
Your warning has been given already when you should have read the rules. When you learned to drive a car, did you TL;DR the road rules?
The thing is, nothing stops you from running the game on 2 physical computers. And if Anet limited to 1 instance per IP address, they would be faced with problems of up to and including entire towns being unable to play Guild Wars 2.
Hello PlatedOne
The language filter has been said by Anet staff to be a layer of protection for people to use. Disabling it however does not give you the keys to violate the Guild Wars 2 Rules of Conduct. These rules are not there for show.
I understand you feel that the 71 hour ban for one offense is a bit much, but this length of ban is there to teach you not to do it again.
I’m not too sure why a lot of gears are soul bound really. And if you get hacked, the hacker simply sells them for gold. Nothing is being stopped there with soul bound. And if you stop legendaries from being traded, means that you are limiting how people can play this game. I personally will earn my own legendary item. But that’s just how I play.

There are only 2 things that you can do. File a ticket. After 3 days of no reply, post your ticket number in the 3 days and older tickets for review thread. Make sure not to post multiple tickets. If you need to include more information, add it to the existing ticket. Make sure your ticket is clear and concise. For more information on writing up a ticket, click here.
Reminds me of the guy who got banned, then later unbanned. The problem became worse when they gave him info for somebody elses account, several times. They eventually fixed him. Of course Anet says they learn from mistakes. That’s good, except when you become the learning experience. Of course this is only from what I found out from reading the forums here.

I wish I could use a real life reference to drive my point home, makes more sense to read. But you can’t excuse one offense with a justification of other people doing more serious crimes.
If somebody is already making an attempt to login and it’s asking for verification, means they have your username and password. At that point, you should be seriously concerned.
Make it so that if you buy a gear, but don’t wear it or trade it to anybody, you can sell it back to the NPC for a full refund. This would be useful for those “whoops” occasions where you accidentally bought 2, or bought something that you cannot use for your profession; especially if it’s soul bound on purchase.
What do you think?
Usually programmers put in place something that stops you from running the application with multiple instances. They do this for technical reasons, or for intent to prevent a violation of a rule. Plus considering how the patcher may or may not want to modify or update the game content before you can login and start the game, having the game already open would pose a problem for the patcher, because the content it may want to modify or update would be already in use.
Is there any way to check to see if a name is copyright or trademarked? An acceptable way to avoid a problem would be appreciated.
They don’t provide evidence. They are also not required to provide you with evidence. O and btw, you should remember this about online games, or any games and music, and videos, you are buying a license to use it, you don’t own anything. Because you do not own anything, you have no rights to demand evidence of any kind. No higher authority will step in to say “hey you must provide evidence here”. It’s not like Anet wants to randomly ban their player base. But they have offered to help you with customer support. But that does not mean you have to be impatient.
Serious?
A lot of exploiting and hacks and Anet got ban for “inappropriate languague”?! That is ridiculous!
A lot of others use “inappropriate language” every day, every hour and there are still playing. Great job ANet, really great!
They get away for now with using “inappropriate language” because there is nobody there who cares to report it. The person who was obviously hurting over being told off had motivation to report, thus Anet saw it as a violation of the rules of conduct.
The leader probably did the right thing in his own eyes, I’m sure of it. Trying to lead an entire war, and somebody comes in and starts trying to undermine leadership. Being a bit rough may be necessary. I can understand that just fine.
Once upon a time I thought a chat filter was there for when you didn’t want to hear that kind of thing. Apparently it’s just a layer of protection for when you don’t want to hear certain things. Disabling chat filter doesn’t give you the keys to disregard the rules of conduct. People who do that kind of stuff can still get banned, and I’m not just talking about swearing either. You can read the rules of conduct if you like.

Hmm
If you can buy something that is not for your profession and is soulbound the moment you buy it……. why allow the person to buy it? Uh? Unless there’s a way to use the item’s skin to be placed over another item that you can wear, maybe?
It’s only 30 days. If you play for a while, those 30 days will disappear in no time at all.
Each experience is worse than the last probably because it’s Christmas time, holidays. Before that was leading upto Christmas time. Considering all the attractive and tasty events we’ve had so far as well, it’s not hard to imagine the wait.

Maybe they just don’t let ya buy gems too much within a period of time. Who knows.
As was said before, here are Goldsellers posting too. Nobody knows for sure (except Anet employees) who is phony and who is real.
Yeah well they should do a bit more of that “knowing for sure” before handing out bans. People talk to each other, it’s unavoidable. That and the amount of cases being posted here, it’s demoralizing.
Ask customer support to open up that account for a new serial code. When that’s done, well, put in a new serial code. You were not billed right? That means you still have the money for the game. =)
Yeah you do have bad English. Your wording makes it sound like you did do it, up until you actually say you did not, rather it was the hacker who broke into your account.
You’re going to have to be patient with that ticket, holiday time; that and there seems to be a lot of people getting issues with hackings, real money trade false positives, bot false positives. Some of them might actually be criminals, others are victims. All requires time.
Anyways, assuming you did file that ticket those many days ago, did you also post in the 3 days and older tickets for review to expedite your ticket?
Edit: Now I am wondering if you worded your ticket correctly, if you used english. If you are concerned, try adding more information to the existing ticket to clarify your problem.

It’s very hard to believe that sending items and gold won’t get you banned, when lots of people are getting banned for doing just that (and getting unbanned when appealing).

So now you can’t send actual items as well as gold? Also the instructions are to post your ticket number in the 3 days and older ticket review thread, after 3 days have elapsed.
This is the forum, not customer support. Do you need to file a ticket? I’m not sure customer support can help you because it was human error, not a system error. I know, the mail box can only display 10 items. You can still try with customer support, maybe they will be understanding and help you with your situation.
Glad you can play now.
As long as you don’t end up like the last guy. He successfully appealed his nickname, only to have it taken by somebody who was obviously reading his thread. All his efforts were for nothing, and customer support couldn’t help him. Very anti-climatic.

Now if you had screenshots of your own, you could include them in your appeal ticket. They have chat logs of their own, but screenshots help.
Apparently I’ve been told by Gaile Grey that trading gold doesn’t get you banned. So what makes it RMT if there is only a trade in gold? How is real money being detected in this trade? I don’t get it. Cause if it was the case, how are these people appealing and successfully getting unbanned?
I don’t get how this violates the naming policy at all Soylentt. Did you send in a ticket?
@Hebe Faith
Well actually a guild leader like that getting banned basically ruins game play for a whole lot of people. How big are large guilds like that?
Anet bans people for mailing gold to players. Why? Because gold sellers do that too. Just don’t do it.
This is not true. Players mail gold to other players all the time without negative consequence.
The details in this case must have been extraordinary, and the team will look into the matter and resolve it in the best way possible,
I wish I could ask what makes the difference between mailing gold, and mailing gold and getting banned.

You’re still having this problem after 2 months? Wow, that’s amazing!
Did you post your ticket number in the 3 days and older tickets for review thread?
Don’t stay around 1 place for too long killing monsters and playing events. This is what bots do, and it can get you banned along with them. I don’t know why real players are getting caught up with bot ban sweeps. I heard that a real person checks before banning, so what went wrong?
