Nipper is a lesser known racial slur for Japanese people.
Which is only applicable if there is a context. In this case there is not.
So I’m guessing you think Anet should allow the “N” word that people use to refer to African Americans, if only because a player doesn’t mean it in a bad way? Sure that word is Spanish for black, so it must be ok in that context?
Realize that all it takes is one player to find offense in it, and report the name. Be it a cute slang for nipples, or the use of a racial slur, and Anet will take action. If the name passes the Support Team’s internal vetting process, then the OP gets to keep the name. If not, then he has to change it. Simple as that.

When somebody uses the infamous “N” racial offensive word that people refer to as African American, the default context is the racial offensive meaning. There is no other definition that could be default without any context suggested or stated. Not only that, but nobody is going to believe that you were using the word for a different context, and will in all aspect find it offensive, unless you’re also talking to a fellow brother, but you certainly wouldn’t talk that way in a game like this, it’s against the rules. You never know if somebody whom is eaves dropping will take offense or not. However as for Nipper, in no way is the default context or meaning referring to as a racial offensive meaning or context. This is the difference between chalk and cheese really.

You can appeal this, and some have been successful in an appeal. Honestly saying this is a matter of racism is a joke at best.

How do you want them to compensate you? For one, can they verify your story? Second, are they able to compensate you? Sorry for your loss btw, and I can understand how you feel.
Hopefully a GM will look into this. If this thread doesn’t work, I could suggest the 3 days and older ticket thread. It’s a sticky thread.
How can it be a sexual reference with no context? The only real reason why it’s a sexual reference is if whoever was reading it is a pervert. Honestly are people that immature these days?
Also when you google “definition nipper” you don’t get sexual reference at all. This is clearly a wrongful ban, if you ask me. I recommend you push your case further. Honestly, if something like this can get you banned, then any name in the world can be offensive to anybody.

Customer support maybe? Unless somebody has a better idea.
It’s really just a choice of: is this an obstacle to remove, or an obstacle to avoid. Need to communicate this to your party. Don’t assume really.
Good idea before running a dungeon, discuss what you’re doing, and what they are doing, come to an agreement, or compromise to make an agreement. Or the least you can do is not run with those people. But you can’t assume that people are going to automatically play to your standard. Gotta quickly and calmly discuss things. Again if you’re not comfortable with that party, walk away is better than regret.
I support the idea of this thread. It’s something that I’d like to see happen. Great for guild runs as well. Makes for a good game.

Not that you’re looking for sympathies from me, but I am sorry to hear you have cancer. I of course have to side with Anet.
It’s always good to side with the customers, but this is not a perfect world of course. Anet is comprised of busy people with jobs to do and goals to achieve. When making a choice like this, one must consider which is the best choice. Got to weigh up time and collateral damage or risk. So, make things perfect and cause a large backlog of tasks due to the time required, or use option 2 which has what they would consider minor consequences, with faster results.
You can, but as long as you’re not breaking any of the other rules while doing it. In actuality though there is no way Anet can be sure that it’s all of you playing, or just brothers and sisters, or a party of geeks playing together, or an entire town sharing the same IP address, or an office complex of workers having time off during lunch break.
Of course if they started banning cause of too many simultaneous logins per IP address, they’d have issues of banning real people playing legitimately. Then again they did ban for multiboxing, according to this guy: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Three-of-five-accounts-have-been-blocked

Best advice I can give is, don’t hang around an area, move on. Do not stay logged in when you go afk, go back to character selection screen. If you see bots, run for it as fast as you can. You don’t want to even risk hanging around bots. If you see hackers, also run for it as fast as you can, because you don’t wanna get banned along with them. Do not trade gold or expensive items, risk of getting randomly banned for RMT. Yes I understand that lots of people trade items and gold every day. Technically if you get banned in error, you should have nothing to worry about. But I honestly feel that when you get banned in error, there is also the risk that you might stay banned in error. Like how did it go wrong in the first place?
So you need to reset your password, but the password reset isn’t letting you put a new password because it won’t accept the new one? Sounds like either a glitch, or you’re putting in generic passwords that are too common. Have you tried filing a ticket with customer support? Don’t give up just yet.
You could try earning a bucket load of gold and transforming them into gems.
They say that you should have read the naming policy before making a character name. That was your first warning. This is now your second warning, resulting in a 72 hour ban. It’s their policy. They don’t write that stuff up there for it to be decoration and a bunch of useless words to be ignored.
You could say that in your ticket as an appeal. But uh, please do check out the Naming Policy so that this doesn’t happen again.
How come other games have a feature that lets you recall mail that you sent?
Why not just pull/fetch the password that’s saved in your browser?
Also having a button that types /dance is considered one action as well. Common sense.
Is grief play bannable? If it is, report it to Anet in the best way you can.
Did you file a new ticket, quoting the old ticket’s reference number?
No there is not.
Also at some point this person will have to give up. Can’t keep harassing forever. At least there is hope.
Submit a ticket if you have not already.
Only 2 days and you’re complaining? Think about how many people play this game, and how many possibly use customer support. I’m not saying this to be rude, I’m just saying that we all need to be realistic in our expectations. Anyways, what Michael said. I’m sure your brother will be playing again soon, don’t worry.
File a ticket. Forum cannot help you. Only the 3 days and older ticket review thread can help, after 3 days. But you still need to file a ticket in the first place.
I actually take screenshots of me playing the game for just in-case. If Anet staff want to argue if I was really playing, I can show recent in-game screenshots of me playing the game. It’s the best I can do really. Ultimately the only real best way to show you playing the game would be to video record yourself playing from a camera situated from behind your head. But who’d have the HDD space and Internet to upload hours of game footage?
There must have been at least 5-15 bots in there some were doing circles others were just chilling out casting spells, they were all stolen accounts.
See that’s the thing, they steal accounts so that there is no loss on their part. A part of fighting bots is for players to ensure the security of their account as best as possible. Sorry for any off-topic.
What are you talking about ? I haven’t said nothing wrong I want them to tell me what i said.
This is just another dirty trick of JQ
Players are not automatically suspended because they are reported. A player is only suspended if a review by a support agent — usually more than one — confirms that the chat was offensive. While players do try to grief one another by submitting reports of offensive chat, it is only after a review and confirmation of the offense that the suspension is given.
So yes, you did do something wrong otherwise you wouldn’t have received a suspension for the second time. Unless you’re suggesting that JQ has some how bought off Gaile Gray and the support agents that viewed the chat log and had them suspend you twice in a row?
Considering how I’ve seen people get banned in error and later unbanned for RMT and botting, I can’t really say that I can fully believe Anet’s moderation. Either way I suggest filing a ticket of appeal. Hey maybe they’ll ban the people who reported.
You need to tell customer support this, not us.
The chat filter gives us all headaches. I wonder if Anet would consider adjusting it to not kill chat for legitimate players?

There shouldn’t even be a chance of getting banned in error. What’s up with that? Can’t play without the fear of getting randomly banned for something that we not only didn’t do, but certainly hate. But at least customer support can help you. Just have to be patient.
It’s likely his father couldn’t be bothered dealing with the added stress and delegated to somebody who’s more forum savvy.

Considering how I have seen a couple reports of people who are married and living in the same house trading items and gold getting banned for RMT in error, and later unbanned, nothing surprised me anymore.
Maybe you were hacked? Were you hacked?
Of course if you delete your first character after collecting items, you lose items.

I’m also curious about this restriction. What causes it? And what can be done to resolve that problem?
Because it was human error, and not server error, they cannot help you. I can imagine how you feel right now.
You’re supposed to earn mass amounts of gold, or have friends (o yeah trading gold gets you banned randomly, well that’s a real downer).
Some people don’t like it. Best to not communicate with the enemy team.
You would think some people would not take it to that extent just because they’re losing. Unfortunately this type of behavior comes from a person with a big ego and must have everything their way. Should I be put on punishment because the player happens to hate me?
They don’t think like us. We are required to accommodate to their play style. I myself would recognize the humor in the action and play along with it.
If that’s the case, it would be best not to say anything at all to anyone except close friends and guildies that you know. I honestly don’t see much point to appealing it because by the time you get a successful appeal, there is no compensation and the ban has already expired. All it does is clear your name so that next time the ban length isn’t stupendously longer than the previous.
I bet the player he beat probably used profanity and then reported him. These bad players use these type of tricks when they don’t get their way.
Let me get this right. The player he defeated in combat probably used profanity against the OP, then the defeated player using profanity reported the OP as a tactic to get revenge, followed with a ban of the OP?
Gaile Gray says the staff don’t take your report as fact, they have a look into it themselves. Unless their staff are lacking intelligence, there is no way I can believe that any human would do what you just said, unless there was some kind of huge misunderstanding.
Some people don’t like it. Best to not communicate with the enemy team.
Are you able to still use the card on the website? I hope they didn’t ban your card.
Does it tell you the reason why when you try to log into the game?
He’s saying it wasn’t his fault though and people will report if they don’t like what you did to them in pvp. It’s kind of like if a bully can’t get you in his trap one way, then he’ll report you and make you the victim while the bully gets off scott free. You can be the grown up and ignore the bully, but as you can see you’ll still become the victim because you didn’t report the player.
Why didn’t he report the player? because it’s silly and in pvp people tend to act crazy/ serious especially those with a big egos.
I only asked a question because I was curious to know if it would reveal the reason.
You’re not supposed to make mass amounts of gold. That kind of thing can kill the economy of the game. It’s called inflation.

Considering how a player becomes attached to their character, having a forceful character name change and a 3 day ban does leave a very foul taste. It can be avoided by reading the naming policy and abiding by it as best as you can.
“To the next ticket. BD”
Is what I’d like to say, but in actuality I have no idea what you can do. Only Anet can help you.

So rules in a video game don’t matter?
Nope.
Not unless it’s offensive.
