I would like to suggest a layer of security, where by if 2 or more parties with different IP addresses in a short period of time are contesting the playing of an account, the account is locked for suspicious activity, namely hacking. It would be easier for Anet customer support to unlock an account later, than do a full rollback if everything was lost.

Of course this would not help in the event where a player is offline and is getting hacked, but at least when the player is at the computer, they can try to defend themselves by disconnecting the hacker to fight them off, and eventually win.

An alternative would be a button that can be pressed to lock the account.

Think of it like this as well, if a player is rolled back to restore their stuff, the gold that was gained by the hacker is still out there, unless it’s banned in time and sealed up. Having the account locked in time before they can really get away with it, means that the gold doesn’t go anywhere really.

I hope this suggestion helps in some way.

Probably better to get a 2nd account for her, because when she plays, she probably wants to play with you, and will mean a lot more to her than simply just playing a game. And hey, she might like playing the game with you and want to play more often.

ArenaNet’s policies and code of conduct are more than a mere guideline, they are enforced. Best when creating a name, don’t choose something risky that can end up as regret.

If you find you need to include more information, do not make another ticket, but rather add details to the existing ticket. ANet don’t like duplicate tickets.

Of course wait 3 days first before posting in that thread. ArenaNet is usually quick to respond, but you will still need to be patient.

There is an in-game report feature that lets you report bots from there. You could try that. I hope this feature helps next time.

If you are wanting the client to save the new one, you need to deselect the option to save password first before you can enter the new one to remember the new one.

Did you file a ticket? Customer support will gladly help you, I’m sure of it.

I’m not 100% sure, but according to my logic, if you do not change servers, you should still be playing on the same server as before. Maybe an ArenaNet representative can shed some light on this.

ArenaNet is pretty fast to answering tickets though. Just be patient and calm.

Also did you include all the details they require? If you need to add more information to the ticket, please feel free to add additional information to the existing ticket (121204-000130).

I think if you use their email address in the online purchase, the code should goto them.

When I put my own email, the code went to my email. It should still work the same for anybody else.

At least server transfers are free every 7 real days. I can understand how this is frustrating. Did you report this issue to ArenaNet? There should be an in-game bug reporting feature available to use, built into the client.

I’m actually curious to see what the total makeover kit you were buying looks like, and how your character now looks with the total makeover kit applied. Can we see?

Others have said before on this forum that you can contact Customer Support to help assist you in changing the email address. Your request for an email change is reasonable. I recommend reading the following thread as a good read-up on writing a ticket for help:

Just make sure not to post multiple tickets. ArenaNet customer support don’t like duplicate tickets about the same problem. You can edit an existing ticket to add further info.

I’m not the official response to this question, but as far as my logic can tell me is what I can say.

I have noticed that every-so-often Gaile updates the thread with a list of ticket numbers and their status. I suggest that if your ticket is not addressed in that list that Gailed provides, I can say that it’s possibly okay to repost your issue to let Gaile know it’s still an ongoing problem.

I do encourage you to stay. Sometimes a new game takes time to get used to, especially if you’re familiar with a different game style than what is provided here. Think it over first. Maybe talk to a few friends to see if they can discuss with you ways to enjoy this game better.

ArenaNet has mentioned that they are looking into implementing Name Changing services as a part of the in-game cash shop, purchasable by using Gems.

Ask customer support, not the forum moderators. Did you file a ticket?

Same here. Not playing until things have become safer. I am waiting for account recovery to be implemented. Cause from the sounds of things, it seems that there is a breach in security. How else do you explain it?

Wow, to get that serious about a game, find a scapegoat to blame for their own failures, and then boot you from the mission and party……. Yeah if I was you, I’d report immediately, let ANet sort it out.

I am curious to know how to avoid this problem. It seems that having a legit bank card can still get you banned for fraud. It’s amazing!

I am actually holding off logging in until the account restoration is in place. I don’t wanna draw attention to myself from hackers, before the implementation of the new restoration feature.

I doubt ArenaNet is going to care about a few swear words, as long as they are not directed at somebody, or their nationality, race, or religion. This is common sense.

You ask customer support to help you reclaim the account with a new code. However you’ll need to use a different credit card or payment method to buy the new code, as your previous card is now banned.

But how do you catch a real player in amongst botters? Do bots act human now?

ArenaNet doesn’t have an autoban, so they say. However they have software in place to detect certain types of behavior. When the criteria is matched up, an employee is notified and dispatched to check it out. How a person who is nowhere near combat and afk could be possibly banned is very strange indeed. Something is going wrong if the person is really innocent.

I agree, there is clearly no group of people that enforces a correct policy. If there were such a group, you would be banned immediatly for using that name. No appeal, no explanation, no reasoning, just ban immediatly.

You don’t say if somebody deserves to be, or not to be in the game, you report when you see something possibly in breach of ToS, and let ArenaNet decide. Us players are not the Judge here, we are participants and observers.

I thought the idea of playing a game is to have fun. How is boosting fun? Why do people always have to ruin a good thing?

Or you can make a shortcut of the Gw2.exe, name it as Guild Wars 2 Repair. Then right mouse click the shortcut and go to properties. A window will appear. Under the Shortcut tab, you can see something like this:

Target: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe”

Change that line to this:

Target: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -repair

Click OK and then run the shortcut.

You do know that the rollback feature is not retroactive right? Meaning once it’s implemented, any past hacked players are still stuck.

The only help I can provide is to suggest using a different payment method.

If playing the game can simply get you hacked, I’d rather not play until this gets sorted out. Welp, time to take a break and do something else for the time being.

A friend of mine who is a Minister of his own Church got many people banned in WoW by claiming their names were offensive to his religeon.

By that reasoning, I could say that cats are offensive, so therefore I report yoo for using cat in your name. You see how unreasonable that would be? Where is the line drawn for offensive names? And along with these names, there should be a way for the person accused to contest the action against the account, and if successful, be able to keep the name.

Is there something that your computer is missing? A program that the game relies upon maybe?

Pester them again. Make sure to include all your identification and purchase information. Make sure your ticket is clear and concise. Also don’t submit multiple tickets, just in-case you actually do that.

I wonder how they are getting into people’s accounts. If we can answer the question of “how?” then we hope ArenaNet will patch it.

Do you have the authenticator active? Maybe you need to do that to get in?
