You can actually use jump shot and then switch to grenade in air and kit refinement will send the grenades all at your landing point, handy when you overcharge shot then jump shot them.
Also for the one saying its exploit, kit refinement trait creates a grenade barrage, not sure if you’re being sarcastic. But OP? Not even close for what you have to sacrifice to pull that off, and compaired to what other professions can do.

Two questions about waypoints and contested mechanic’s current state and your stated changes Mr. Witter

With the current system, a single player or npc just has to do any amount of dps just to set off the contested mechanic, locking the waypoint, and in the future you state that you can lock it permanently. Both of these mechanics are fairly irratating with the fact that just a lone player/npc hitting a door with a missed shot on a guard or whatever, sets off contested.

1. Will we be seeing a struck symbol(single sword on structure instead of double) designating that the structure is recieving damage, but is not under attack or any other feature preventing npcs setting it off and lone players exploiting the contested mechanic?

2. With the waypoints being able to perma-lock, do you still think players will still buy the upgrade with one of its two advantage lost(the other being more conveniently placed initial spawning), do you plan on decreasing the cost or any other plans to deal with this?

If you can’t answer or do not know the answer, we still appreciate the time you’re spending with us. Of course if there is anything else that you think we will find neato, feel free to divulge the info if you can. Thanks A-Net!

The only thing turrets proc is combat mode and kill tagging if you are close enough to them. Everything else is separated, even though the tooltips are altered by stats, they aren’t. Unless they changed it of course.

One of the problems with it is that it can trigger when there isnt a boon on the target, so you have to wait for that CD, CD needs brought down to 9s or 8s, any lower is on the verge of becoming OP.

First, its not 25%, its about 20-21%, the description is incorrect, trait itself is working as intended, unless they changed it.

Second, congratulations, you spent 30 points in traits, +80% of your health, and a utility slot to laugh at a player that somehow has no ability to inflict physical dmg, you cannot heal over that mark or you become vulnerable to new conditions.

So lets reword Automated Response like this: Immunity to new conditions while hp is below 20%, new stacks and durations of any pre-existing conditions may still be inflicted on you.
I don’t know about you, but in a game where burst is preferred over conditions +10 to 1, that trait definitely isn’t worth packing. Im not sure about PvE on the other hand, most enemies are pure physical dmg attacks and have others tagging along if they are condi based.

Not really sure, but we have to trait and gear into our desired role if you want to do it right and effectively, while sacrificing the ability to do anything else, where as other proffesions don’t need to sacrifice all their traits and gear in order to do one thing effectively. Our damage is subpar, might stacking is supbar, combo fields are subpar, we are often stealthnerfed, we suffer from potentially fatal RNG skills, many important skills and traits are bugged causing unintentional affects or simply don’t work, we lose wep atributes from using kits, and so on.. so to say we are the worst is maybe the truth, maybe not. Necro’s have it pretty bad, but I’ve never rolled a ranger so I can’t tell you about that…

CD has gained some population, they are now a full server I believe…. As for dropping the siege, there are three different exits for everyspawn, and ironically the front exit is often the longest way to take since normally you’ll be going for suppy camps first, not sure why anyone would call it “dirty tactics”.

This should go on the Charr or bug forums, not here, but I will test with my Charr Engi also…
And the skill works fine for me… Sorry not sure what your issue is. It could be that you are targetting to close to yourself, the skill has a minimum distance of 400units, and cannot be targeted closer, so clicking on the skill will attempt to activate it at your feet which won’t work.

Or a unique “weapon mod” that would take the F1 spot, all the rest would get shoved over a spot. Essentially it would switch your rifle between a shotgun and sniper/rifle or your pistol with a dart gun and shield with droppable barricade skill that acts as cover but locks your shield skills out. Thoughts?

Rocket Turret replaced with Jango Fett’s suit and jetpack. Equiping this allows you to see all targets and buildings on map. Anyways, what you propose is a very interesting idea, although I think this would lead to rebalancing (AKA nerfing) from Anet.

With just an Elixer kit, your packing 9stacks might(HGH), 10 swift retal and fury, 2 stunbreaks, 3 sec invul, total condition removal+removal on use, with all of these benefitting from +20% duration and -20% recharge trait. Thats one utility slot for all of that. But another thing Im worried about is trait speccing, like in the example I just gave, traiting for it makes it greatly better, where as in other kits that are supposedly going to give us versatility, they are probably still going to be wasted space if not traited and geared for use.

So there would definitely be some rearanging be done and most likely a huge outcry from the engi community out there(due to gold spent on builds, being even worse, blah blah…). Sure Im all for this, it is a buff after all, and any loss of toolbelt skills Im cool with since they all suck major kittens.

23) Veil from Throw Elixer U has a chance to fail on cast and not stealth you upon walking through field. Veil always fails if Acidic Elixers is traited(in my experience, may have changed)

24) Reflection. As far as I know, reflected skills will go off the traits of the reflection caster, so trait and sigil effects such as Steel-Packed Explosives or Sigil of Air will not trigger on self. Thrown elixers do not create any effect if reflected by an enemy.

25) Tools trait does not reduce CD for Mine Field

26) When rifle or pistol skills are still casting and the target moves past you or into melee range(less than 120units normally), the skill has a chance to fail and go on a 4 second CD or normal CD

27) Grenades and mortars(and other on impact AoE such as Cluster Bomb) tend to fall through or get stuck in destructible objects, such as walls and turrets, very common on upgraded walls and doors.

28) When Rifled Barrels is traited, 1# Elixer Gun skill applies 3 second bleed and weakness, originally 1 sec weakness and 4 second bleed.

29) If you pick up healing turret before it creates the first water field, the skill goes on normal recharge(20s) instead of being decreased by 25%. Also, if first regeneration boon is applied by healing turret and it is picked up, the boon only heals 5.

30) Static discharge and turrets tend to target dead objects, such as places where clones have died, however static discharge can still bounce off the intended target.

31) Packaged stimulants changes ALL heal kit skills to have 15s CD, also prevents pickup if you already have swiftness.

32) Magnet and Rifle Jump do not always move target or user intitially, although it shows animation, normally takes 2-3 seconds for displacement to actually occur.

33) When using Magnet and Rifle Jump, and the target/user hits a rounded or jagged incline that cannot be scaled, the target/user may be launched into the air. Normally launches target/user high enough to sustain 25-50% fall damage, on rare occaisions death.

If you want to transfer, its not going to kill you, you can just transfer back to your old server if thats what you want(if its not full), I think it would be a good idea to set a deadline or date for us to get together(via trasfering or just guild chat) and talk or have some sort of event.

Granted if you pull this off, an entire EB full of engis would probably send everyone packing to LA if you all used Supply drop and all your turrets at the same time in the same spot…. Which gives me an Idea! Get at about 30 people to place rocket turret and rifle turret in the same spot. Any uninnocent passerby would be instantly vaporized :D

@Rob Currently Ive heard nothing from Anet that pins down if this is a bug or an exploit, but seeing everything else that is exploited it is definitely possible. One thing I have noticed is that players that start the animation but don’t finish it, then move on to finish another player, what you experienced tends to happen.

If you use overcharge immediately after being ressed I believe the invulnerability prevents you from launching. Also since RB and OS are both selfstuns, they activate related traits…

Putting jewels and/or crest in the MF have a chance of giving you a higher tier gem/crest. Normally it isn’t worth it due to the fact that you have a chance to recieve a crest if you put jewels in, and you cannot do crafting and such with crest.

Hmmm.. after thinking about it, I realized that the temple debuffs in Orr and Agony are all conditions, if this grants immunity to them, then sure its OP, if not and you are relying on this instead of other condi removers…. you’re doing it wrong.

Ranger "guard" ability

In my opinion drakes should be used as handheld flamethrowers, spiders have a 5% to give the victim spidey powers, and birds can crap in siege users eyes.

Jokes aside, things just need redone to balance siege and thats all thats really needed to be said since everyone has their own issues which may or may not be ever tended to.

Engi’s are pigeonholed into grenades to be the most effective at wall siege and defence, they can cause havoc(before and yes, after nerf) for defending infantry near edges with spammable AoE, yet theres a catch, grenades often fall through upgraded walls making you even more useless than a ranger, who still have a bow and pet to attack.

Warriors have bow f1 on10 CD that can hit most siege on walls that other professions can’t but have poor range. Multiple warriors can take out siege on walls very quickly.

And so on and so forth.

Thats actually a great idea, but allow everyone to adjust not only color but also the dotted line that outline the AoE, it would make it easy for everyone with any type of color blind to see what works best for them.

quick question to NSP

Why waste so many people defending Durios, rally those people to your own border and it wouldnt be so green..

What you’re seeing is about 75% of the entire current WvW population there, which is about 25-18 people.

Easy answer, stall DR at Durios and Quentin as much as possible, hope to keep the keep till next day assuming it doesn’t get golem rushed or the pop falls below 15 people, and we have a nice pretty upgraded keep for the prime time crew.
Its not like we have the numbers to take anything at this time of day…

Or treads, currently they are more effective blowing up for the knockback or static discharge which is kinda messed up, I just wish they were mobile period, or the overcharge skill could be replaced with a skill that makes them mobile, but I really just dont know what would be done to “balance” that out.

Turrets just suck, but ironically they are the only skills we have that says “I’m an engineer” to me.

I wouldn’t know, and no one does really (unless you’re Anet staff possibly), AR just seems to prioritize their BL and the other two for picking fights, and seems non-existant on EB. Just different server preferences is all.

Give the Engineer somewhere to shine.

You’re also forgetting that while we do have quick kit swapping, most of those availble skills on the kit are too situtational(and trash/UP) to the point its effectively… another wasted slot. Not to mention we probably won’t be swapping back to it until that one skill has recharged or that 1 situational skill is needed(If ever) so that effectively renders them….drum roll…. ON A COOLDOWN!!! ding ding ding! Whereas other proffesions skills all have a place, but ours are unreliable, underpowered, and too situational.
