Point is easy

Yesterday we had a city with crafting AND TP AND mystic toilet and myiany.

Today we have it removed and placed in gemstore.

People is buying the permanent pass…..

And yes its blatant P2W (in the updated definition of it you can find from many sources like VG press etc)….its not much different if they removed every single WP….

You can still reach any destination walking…

Why nobody speaks of those things?
I can t understand if they are permanent, if they are town clothes, or normal etc etc.

Could Anyone please explain me how do they work and if they are hard to obtain since it may be the only thing i m interested in this patch? (expecially the halo version)

This was one of my ancillary concerns going into the proposed changes for Elementalist in March. With D/D arguably being one of the stronger weapon sets and with excellent synergy already inherent within both the weapon set and Traits, why buff it further whilst /Focus and Staff languishes?

that may ne the reason why focus is meta and D/D is considered unviable in possibly any part of the game…..

Staff comes second…..

D/D is undeniably the least viable and least used….except for fun
(the Whole page of nerfs it got has already been posted too often….)

What Arenanet needs to realise is that the Triple Cantrip D/D Bunker DPS Ele is only 1 step away from becoming OP again, especially if the proposed changes go through, and that change is any alteration to Cleansing Water ICD. At a stroke, D/D will come back in force overnight

S/D was the OP cantrip ele leading to nerfs not D/D….as stated by devs explaining their “balancing” reasons who led ele to fall from top tier in PvP to lowest tier.

If your facts are not correct, you could come to wrong conclusions.

Example for ele:

ele equips a staff with sigil A and sigil B (both on swap)
Switch attunement and proc both.
After one second he switch to another attunement…both sigilis are still on CD for other 8 seconds…..needs at least 9 seconds to proc A and B again.

A HAMBOW warrior has
2 sigils on swap on Hammer A and B
2 sigilis on swap on Bow C and D

Warrior switches to Bow and proc C and D.
After 5 seconds warrior switches to hammer and proc A and B having effectively double proc compared to almost any other profession.

Not surprised…

See at no time have I ever wanted to include the MF in my bank/tp/crafting station loop. I only use the MF to get a daily or use it as a slot machine for item quality promotion.

1) ..miyani near the forge has materials
2) tier promotion
3) when your bank is filled with T5 craft some rares to put in forge

The fact people is buying access to the ship proves quite undeniably this move is removing commodities we had and puttting them in the gemstore.

I mean the new P2W method is making the game unnecessarily grindy and/or upractical and make it only fun for people getting stuff from the GemShop.

Consider position of crafting, Myiani, mystic forge and TP …..
They need to be reasonably near since while crafting you have to go back and forth….

Now i don t know if there is any other city with that as near as LA and in a central position (see TP costs)…..

I can still feel it as a move to push people to buy something they had for free….

You are mixing up the Vigil Keep with the Airship.

I can t understand…

I read that in vigil there aren t crafting stations…..
And they put this airship …..

What am i missing?

I’d like to see you guys try to “support” a bearbow sitting at 1500 range while you’re trying to “heal” as a mace/shield guardian. Headless chicken is so effective! only berserkers stack, other builds can play the game of headless chicken better.. right? right?

That is the point…
Its way easier to buff, support, ress, heal a stacked Group than having to actually think about positioning, wich player and where to support, getting fast to downed players etc etc….

And its OK
With an AI like 1980 you play like games of 1980…find the weakpoint in the script and counter it forever….boring and effective.

We just need anet to introduce an AI smarter than “rush blindly towards your target”, and use counter tactics to stacking.

Also reduce defiant from 5 to 3.

P.S: the mistake of many is that since this game is grindy, almost any player just looks for fast runs to get most rewards…..
The few not doing it are either private groups looking for challenges or those with no dungeon experience unfamiliar with common tactics.
From there the idea that stacking is pro.

The vid proves that speculation is rampant.

Queen jubilee saw a spike of T6 and gold generation.

T6 got back at a reasonable price, while precursor instead keep rising despite:
-Increased offer (rare drop increase)
-nerfs to dungeons
-nerf to karma=>gold
-nerf to champion boxes
-more goldsinks (lvl 500 crafting)
-ascended weapons
-precursor crafting announcement
-new legendaries announced

And more that everything:
People bought dozen of those when the announcement of the rework was written.
The price instead of getting back to a more reasonable state after old farming* was nerfed many times, continued to rise….and this is another proof.

See how for most goods the price spike drop after QJ while instead luxury items kept rising…..

Those useless graphic just gives false data on macroeconomy….when the question a developer should ask himself would be:

Given the various in game activities….
Wich % of PvE players can obtain a precursor
Wich of PvP
Wich of Istance players
Wich of WWW
Wich of TP

And then BALANCE.

I personally know people buying 10-20 foci and scepters for the 1000% price increse due to the system that charming rogue is describing.

But i can give you another example…..
Do you know magic the gathering?
Well they reprint cards in high demand when speculation goes out of hand…..(except reserved list that is slowly pushed out of legality).
They keep the market honest.

Do you think MTG designers are less qualified than GW2 economist?

Well what should i answer?
I read that dps builds (look on forum) have no issue with condition cleanse and stability……

If you just deny it, it just suggests you could not realize the support you receive when you play with your friends and that pugging more would help…..

But who am i to point out the most obvious downsides of ele…….better L2P….

I wonder why devs came to the absurd idea of reducing armor of earth CD…….

The other point was evading….
Now simple math will show for a dps ele 2-3 Attacks are enough to kill it without support..

Now since you say a dps ele doesn t need support you will show me a dps ele soloing kohler in a reasonable time…..so i will se how do you manage energy/cds.

If what you say is true i think some proofs are needed.

Same old topic…
This game is not an economy rpg.
You are supposed to kill stuff, explore istances and play WWW

All of that makes you poor in comparison to a player playing the TP and that makes sense as if costume brawl awarded 1000 Gold per victory..

When TP player amass hundred thousands gold they start to be a threat to the economy and to other players…..manipulating prices for their own profit and to get even more gold.

Once you have some gold the profit in the TP is abysmal compared to any other activity and a certain dev makes everything possible to keep ANY risk out of that game.
(or we would’ve seen more actions like the crystalline dust…….interesting how instead the opposite is done frequently adding unreasonably unbalanced sinks like silk for example)

I think its clear that there would be lot of better and more honest gold sinks providing the same benefit TP speculation does but without all the downsides.

Yet its out of discussion…and we have to live with Grind Wars 2 wich grind is caused for a good % by this silly economy.

Did you remember when i told that any luxury item would be out of reach of normal players due to this fantastic speculated economy?

If luxury items were attainable by every normal player, they wouldnt be luxury items.

The difference between 0 and every is quite significant in this situation.

Despite the issue are TP players being the root of the problem and being able to obtain most of them with no effort/game skill.

Once a game a minigame (TP) ruling above the main game shows how wrong the economy management is.

They will probably increase the level cap eventually, but with most players still working on ascended and Legendary gear there is no reason to do so this early in the life of the game. When a good portion of the players have Legendary weapons and armor they may raise the cap to give them something new to work for.

they also promised they won t do anything making current ascended equipment obsolete….

Not that i trust anet promises at this point…

Remember that while ele will get a buff as a class, a “general” nerf seems directed to the profession……

-Mixed equipment based on critical nerfed (celestial above all but valkyrie etc will get a hit)
-boon duration rune nerf (direct nerf to DD)

and i expect more….
Chill on swap will be possibly meta in www with the new 2 hand double sigil and be a further annoyance to ele that is extremely vulnerable to chill.

And obviously wich profession needs those the most?

0/20/0/20/30 is better for smaller fights after all, your role is to disrupt enemy while is buffing or preparing to inc….

Once they attack you, retire fast, heal and go kill opponent casters/thieves.

This game wasn t made for anything more than exotic.

When other games introduce new tiers they introduce new content like maps, istances etc.

Somethng anet didn t…..
So they need to nerf damage….
In pve condition is already capped, healing useless, defense is just bypassed by 1HKO everywhere so they don t need to do anything but lower direct damage.

Sad part is now they can introduce more vertical progression (expect infusions) to nerf them later…

Frankly I barely even get hit in AC anymore. If you take frost bow there, which you should, burrows die instantly, and all of the bosses are pretty easy if you know where to stand.
Stack and skip makes everything boring, but at least it’s fast, and nobody enjoys their fifth AC p3 run in a week.

Its the only resource a dungeon player has to stay on par with champ trains….and not be eaten alive by “speculation”

Ac takes less than an hour and pays the costs for fotm and www foods.

But as i said….and i won t answer to haviz provocations any more…. everyone that tried pugging with a dps ele OR had one in party, can see who gets grounded more often and when, if the Group lacks a guardian.

Could mean that every single ele is bad……or simply that HP/Armor is the difference between having a human reaction window/opportunity or not….

Next time you will see a dps ele without a guardian maybe you will notice and remember.

Consider at least in www..
If you can’t burst a thief in 3 seconds it won t die….

Since going full zerk and oneshotting other dps profession is a choice, and since equipping few defensive pieces of equipment let thieves troll Tier 1 servers spawn with no effort, i believe thief HP are already more than OK.

I m ok to an HP buff if revealed debuff gets tripled.

Ele has still to put 20 points in water due to mandatory traits….so buffing HP is pointless

3 needed things

1) RTL revert to 20…its a gap closer a full melee weaponset can t live without….i know 20 sec cd it allows ele to kill thieves….and that is the point of a counterbuild….

2) Strong CD reduction

3) give something in return to equipment nerf you are going to make that “surprisingly” will hit ele the most. (its a direct nerf we know it……boon runes+ crit damage + celestial/assassin …..what a coincidence ALL of them are from the most used ele roaming builds).

Vigor on mesmer is the same as ele…

Needed but since the trait generating clones on evades is problematic on some builds as often they nerf something else random….that will damage fair builds and reduce build diversity.

Until they make it so that clearing one side causes respawns, clearly speculation and probably unlikely, then using it as an example of broken mechanics is incorrect.

You know this is possibly an answer i got already 2-3 times

Its indeed speculation…educated, basing on knowledge of anet behavior until today.

I was asked why should i expect a consumable to be nerfed, or why dying on button was not an intended tactic.

If they really meant players to clean half dredges they wouldn t have put a so peculiar respawn.

When this fractal was released i said sitting on a button was a bad mechanic…i ws told
“l2p use spykits”
i answered: what will happen when they will nerf spykit?

When they nerfed spykits i was told
“l2p jump in the rear of the cage”
i answered “and when that will be fixed ?”

-portaling inside

Did you try as i told you arcane shield:

1) against champion rabdovich
2) to prevent (not to break) a stun from ac gravelings leap attack.
3) against a www cannon

Yes but if you take arcane shield your dps drops drastically. At the same time warriors don’t need to take anything.

I thougt you were experienced enough to compare endure pain with arcane shield…but since you can t, feel free to browse the balance section that is infact discussing this exact matter.

And i was referringo to mesmer mostly where with the same permavigor, mpre HP, an eveade every 9,6 , a block every 12, and distortion explains how a light armor class with not many HP should work.

P.S. but i have to admit that i play on a server where people is not engaging an enemy zerg unless is at least 3 times bigger screaming “this….. is…… SFR!”.

Only tip:
play with a guardian.

Bad tip.
Better tip: do not play with guardians, as much as possible.

The reason for this is that guardians trivialise many encounters. Therefore you hardly spot your mistakes and you never improve. The day that you have to face difficult content or guardians are not here to hold your hand then you will fail.

Since i lost time putting detail to what i said….instead of a generic L2P answer wouldn t be more helpful proving what i said wrong?

That is…..
-dps ele has no slots left foc cond cleanse
-dps ele playing flawlessly and evading 1hko will still die from normal attack other professions will facetank. (due to damage mitigations, lower CDs etc)
-if you rely on other profession fields OR reflect is the same as relying on a guardian…the point is being able to pug in any situation….thing a DPS ele can t do, while a tanky/balanced ele can (the issue is dps for ele is all or nothing… there is no mid ground).

May i see anyone saying “simply dodge” soloing in D/D spider queen and kohler in reasonable time?

You dont even need to dodge to solo spider queen. You can just walk behind her before her attacks hit.

the issue is dying in few hits of whatever attack….
Example…an ele at kohler can easily die from the first necro add …not to mention ele…or even kohler normal attack that alone will down you in few hits.

L2 evade could Worth if you go tanky with a sigil of energy and condition cleanse…at that point your dps is awful and you are useless.

On the other hand a mesmer can easily go full offensive and keep a decent survivability between blurred frenzy, distortion, signet, parry mantras etc.

Only tip:

There is no way you can dodge every attack and you will die by most Attacks that won t even scratch other professions.

Mesmer has blurred frenzy and a powerful regen signet but mostly has shorter animation skills in melee that is why its easier to melee with a mesmer (paired with HP).

Focus obviously enhances survivability by a lot as much as reducing your dps unless you camp in air or use conjured.

Said many times that selling fractal skins would make the only reward pointless since anyone could farm level 1 until they get enough tokens.

Skins needs to be hard to obtain (not like they are today but like they were preFractured, removing drop from 10-19) and maybe a 4 skins for 1 chest recipe at forge.

P.S. fotm 1 is way easier than any dungeon…..

sorry to prove you wrong…

It takes them few days to fix stuff and change things…

The problems is they seems Always to give priority to things that can annoy players neglecting gamebreaking bugs in fractal…..

took 1 year to fix cliffside arm seal, and months to fix the infinite chanters spawn….

Yet every patch they find time to:
-Make dredge fractal more annoying, long and unbalanced
-add walls in various stages
-change maw stage
and more….

There was no reason why dredge balancing wouldn t be at the top of priority list before fractured….players hate that fractal since release and monthly threads on it appears…..

That list you gave looks like an awful lot like bug fixing and balancing to me. And there are reasons why dredge balancing in the manner you and others are asking for wouldn’t be at the top of the priority list. Yours and others personal grudge against the dredge fractal difficulty level may mean to them that its working. That’s not to say that is what they are thinking, but it seems you don’t know how to play devil’s advocate here.

But really, how do you think they set their priorities? It’s based on how much they think that particular “fix” will annoy players? That’s just silly and cynical.

i think you miss the Whole story…

A couple changes:
-added more dredges to the bomb corridor (they are so many that the number is irrelevant)
-added a veteran with more HP than most bosses
-added more dredges in the cage.
-made reflect/absorb useless against champion

and many things like that…each one after threads saying how annoying and long dredge fractal is

Now i would never thought in any game a dev would try to annoy players…..until the 3rd change to this fractal.

The part about removing glitches that act as workaround to an unbalanced fractal is just imho lack of cordination.

Probably the dev fixing glicthes is a different person with the one balancing it…..and he does his job.

Yet due to this lack of cordination we have situations where a glitch forces players to use a minor exploit to kill a boss….and when the minor exploit get fixed BEFORE the gamebreaking glitch, the fractal becomes virtually impossible…

(happened in cliffside for a week…only few could complete the fractal at higher levels and only because they found another minor exploit…..).

Its infact removing Workarounds to issues….

to do it normally they have to make dredges see through invisibility or just change the trigger to bomb steal….so they aim for the bomb whatever happens.

just remove your armor plant the bomb and die asap.
Or arrive stealthed to the door and plant it and run/take portal.

This is the next thing that will be patched in dredge fractal.

BTW i think you can thank a couple of famous dungeon players that every time i said how annoying dredge was, replied “L2P i can do it naked”……(its not i can t do the fractal even now….its just too long).

P.S. Another things that helps this fractal to be a huge annoyance is iwarden’s bug….

Before it at least a mesmer could bring some reflect uptime :|

Celestial is possibly going to be destroyed by ferocity patch in march.
As things stands now celestial will be comparable to the effectivity of 1-2 tiers lower with different stats (for example mixing different pieces).

Until anet realizes celestial is just viable paired with strong crit damage OR a huge buff to power, i would avoid even considering it.

Anet said its aware of the issue (like if it was something they shouldn t have considered even before the patch interview -.-) and they are working in the wrong direction as Always just trying to save the lore of flat stats instead of using MATH.

Consider that nowaday celestial does less damage than soldier (PVT) post patch soldier is remaining the same while celestial will lose 20%+ damage.

Lemme see…a brief explanation of my daily WWW routine (tier1):

I log on my server, i see there are commanders….
First thing i read is to log on TS…

I log and get into the zerg at that point commander tells me

-wich build to use
-when to evade
-where to position
-when to CC
-when to dps and where
-when to build
-when to combo field/blast

._.

After some time i look if i can leave the zerg to roam a little….

And this is where i find:
-3 profession that can t be killed at all unless they want to
-zerg players trying to get up with their commander totally unable to defend themselves due to their build
- few good players but the chances of an even fight are almost non existent due to different numbers.

Said that, can you please explain where (except for commanders) would be the superior skill of a common WWW player?

I still enjoy WWW, but to me is as “challenging” as the marionette or tequatl.

Obviously since they made ascended armors (light in particular) and weapons so grindy they need to find a way for restats.

Unfortunately anet can kill months of grind in a single patch not only with the ferocity, but also with some random nerf making builds suddenly unviable.

The game had in mind an easy way to acquire equipment that is why stats are bound to equipment

At this point making a restat system similar to the retrait trainer would be the best move.

At least they keep the “legendary” (unfair) bonus of being able to change any time.

Since I missed on Gift of Quartz and have only few Quartz Crystals is it possible for me to craft Celestial Armor/Weapons?

The only way i can think of is buying TONS of Giant Wintersday Gifts and I don’t have neither gold nor gems for that.

You can ask a friend to invite you in his home istance……and you will have access to his quartz node

I still think that 25 second rtl is too much.

Since D/D is a weapon set it needs 20..
Devs should try to stay in combat with a D/D ele against a kiting opponent expecially in www.

A short range locked profession needs reliable gap closers…. 20 second 1200.
They even nerfed earth 3 in the past…

Let’s be real: in a few weeks enough pugs will have done dredge enough and know how to do that first part correctly that the only thing you will need to do at the start is signify who will get the first and second switches prior to the cage room. As Ayrilana has pointed out, it takes a similar amount of time to do the skips as it does regularly.

with pugs you will Always lose 15 min explaining …..
Another issue of anet is the total user unfriendly “puzzles” with Always 0 hints….and the hope dulfy or someone other covers it with a walkthrough….

This doesn’t solve the problem in any way. It just flips to which side is going to be upset. Players paid 119g for a race exclusive set. I am pretty sure they would be just as unhappy about a new redesign as some of you are with the flame redesign.

They shouldn’t have used old skins and slapped flames on it in the first place.

1) people that complained deserves to be the one involved..people who bought a skin from TP didn t do anything wrong….should not be involved….
2) they have suddenly the most exclusive set in game (old T3 without flames)
3) you get a choice…..the same choice that flamekissed owners didn t have….
4) you get again a racial exclusive set

Sry if i point this out…
People with your position:
-Never ever considered the damaged part in the incident (players that di absolutely nothing wrong)
-Don t even question on a compromise
-yet you talk what about is fair for you…..

I strongly think that just shows even more the mistake done by anet, even if i like the new set…..its the worst precedent that will be remembered in this game……
