Quickness + Stomp, what’s wrong?

1) You need to quickness on before you start stomp and have it on during all stomp animation (~2.5s)
2)If you have quickness buff only for part of stomping animation – game shows quckened animation, but real stomp comes late. Thus try to wait another second till finisher lands.
3) Try to not switch you target to another enemy while stomping. Or switch back till it animation finishes.

Probably there are still could some other stomp bugs.

Please remove all rewards from hotjoin.

Just don’t worry about win\loss at hj. Hj result doesn’t affect your game statistic. Hj for me is a place for relaxed play, testing, spectating, etc. Plus it keeps rank/track farmers away from rated arenas. Farmers at rated arenas is a bad thing imho. Only their incentive is pve reward.

Hmm, checked it on dummies. Sometimes fails, sometimes not. Even with turned on option. Thus, not sure.

Pobably tied to to new option “Allow Skill Retargeting” – when swap target while occure game thoughts you are stomping new target?
If it works this way – should be fixed.

go to your general options and see if your “Allow Skill Retargeting” is checked. If it is, and you swap to a different target while your stomp is still casting, the game will think you’re stomping the current target you have and ignore the one in downstate.

Works as intended. Criticil chance depends not only on precision, but some other modificators, like acc sigil, fury buff, etc. They do not affect precision.

Just an FYI it is the fact that the enemy is desynced and is not where the toon looks to be so u are out of range.

Not likely for most cases. When 1st attempt of stomping failed 2nd/3rd try at the same position usually helps. Seems like HoT issue.

Many ppl reported often having issue with stomping. Animation ends, but without stomping and no finisher. Probably it is related to partial quickness/slow buff/condition. Sometimes it helps to wait another 1-2s, but sometimes even 5s of waiting is useless.
Didn’t experienced this problem pre-HoT.

Afaik mmr right now not only account based, but class based too.

Yeah, you are right with 46s.
Block often used when escaping from fight, thus I exceed range limits.
To counter blocks you listed I would add revenant with Phase traversal + staff2\staff5 (meta now, juts ppl not used to specs), DH’s Spear of justice/pull and deflecting shot traited with Heavy light (it CC 1 per 10 sec from bow skills, some ppl adapt to switch to bow right when enemy is blocking), engies’ magnet and slick shoes(in lesser degree), warr’s Fear me (shoutbow not in meta now though).
For me it feels like anet slightly pushing mesmer from standard shatter to more tanky and utility builds.

46s? Not 51s (76.5*0.66 ~ 51 )? Btw how you reach alacrity 100% uptime ,assuming shatter hard and almost no alacrity from avengers ( dying due shatters/aoe, not in range,…). Did you check it?
I think blocks pehaps will be less useful (stealth too though), as soon as ppl learn to save/use right their unblockable (bunch of new unblockable skills was introduced in HoT) skills.

Imho f5 is more like offensive tool then defensive. It could be used as defense tool too, but preferably when have near full health yet. Using it when being low hp is very risky move, enemy would be probably waiting near rift to burst after rift disappears or just killing rift.
No double blink away, not works with mantra correctly iirr.

You suggest aoe burst (while most of burst are target only) the whole area where scrapper could be? Even when scrapper is stealth ressing it not an easy task cause protection, blind triggers, sustain,.. Plus func gyro doing work while scrapper could stay aside.

Just visit 1×1 servers.
If you are gonna die – you would give up a cap anyway. Now with gyro you can go invis, ltl kite and burst heal(bh -thing which other stealth classes usually can’t do) and come back. Very low CD and good hp for gyro

It dominates at 1×1. It’s is jail free card on 20cd, free res at team, counter to any other stealth users and tactics, etc. Though it is only 1 of probably imbalanced issues among many others (all elites)

No need to explain me how it works.
Not 1500. 1300-1350 max. Beam do not gains all benefits from projectile attacks getting extra range. First of all it is not projectile (not even 20% chance) attack, thus no combo (even random combo helps sometimes – condi cleanses, etc).
Second best ranged weapon? What about dragon hunter, revenant?
Gs is a good melee burst weapon, mediocre at mid-far range. Ranged damage is not bad if berserker hits and stay alive (there are still ppl who don’t autododge berserker?). Condi pressure, might stacking?.. Don’t tell about traits that do not compete to other ones. Boon ripping – yeah you are right – 1 aoe boon rip is good. Other classes have skills beside auto attack, which are good too. Rapid fire (I think you mean multihit auto attack), as I already wrote, is like 2-sided coin. You can proc on-crit sigil more often (sigil of fire/air mostly), but it hurts to hit enemy with retaliation. You hit enemy for like 1.5k+ and get 1k+ damage back. Plus sigils was nerfed recently.
Yes, it hits between you and target. But true piercing – when skill pierce through target. From spvp nature ppl mostly use target nearest (more comfortable due to key shortcut and mesmer fight tactic). In wvw where retal flyes everywhere you could get backfire 3k+ while doing 1.5k to target and less to 2 another enemies (cause they are closer ofter – range scaling). True piercing is better. It lands hit on additional targets either they are before target or behind. GS aa – only if before.
Other classes have much better ranged autoattacks. There either big shatters or big cond pressure, not together. BUT both of them are in MELEE range.

I already answered it in some topic – how I usually handle shatter mesmer when playing dh. Preset traps on a spot and go near spot behind some obstacle. I just LoSing mesmer or any other ranged class. If enemy comes to contest spot (it is not duel on the beach of 1×1 server) – here we go (doesn’t matter if mesmer even dodged or blocked traps). If mesmer still stay range – np, dh has better ranged pressure (mesmer’s sustain ranged dps is pretty crappy – if kill berserker/los berserker cast – and this is not a problem for DH). DH team getting points meanwhile. Clones and berseker works for DH sake to trigger trap heal and die.
Mesmer can dodge/invuln everything (melee or range), but at the end he would be out of dodges and CDs, while DH sits on fresh(or close to) CDs. Shatter crono has least sustain amongst elites.
“Self-respecting” shatter mesmer wouldn’t die to “self-respecting” dh cause disengage from fight and run away. I little exaggerate, but imho mesmer has low chances to win decent dh on spot. Still can though, but required to significantly outplay DH.
I admit that possibly still not adapted to HoTchanges though. Haven’t spent much time at pvp lately.

Most of my failed stomps caused by quickness (being not full duration of stomp) or by slow (e.g. revenant downed skill). Just need to wait another second to be secure stomp.
But some of my failed stomp tries wasn’t affected by quickness/slow if I recall right. I did it on practice dummies and sometimes even with additional seconds of waiting after landing stomp animation and sometimes without result. It wasn’t accurate test though.

GS1 non-projectile propety rocks, but dps, emm… Sucks?
E.g. let’s compare to an engineer rifle hip shot. Hip shot piercing ability is better (piercerces through a target – more benefits, easier to use in fight), hits up to 5 targets (against gs aa 3 targets), do more dps (0.774 against 0.65 at max range), do not scale with range, isn’t target-only skill (usable against stealth enemies).
I don’t count multy hit part cause it have both advantages and disadvantages (hi, 1k+ retal backfire from 1 gs aa that hits like 1.5k).
Even raw 5-10% dps bust would be welcomed
And now we have dragon hunter longbow and revenant hammer

Non-projectile attack is like 2-sided coin. No-projectiles – no combo effects. Though pluses from non-projectile weight more.
Doubtful that anybody uses 3ppl piercing ability at pvp.
Most of other classes have better ranged aa (sustain) options dps-wise imho.
Gs more like burst weapon for me. Using it as a ranged sustain dps cause no alternative, even with stow weapon and sigil procs .
In general I would be glad to a little gs aa dps buff (partially to compensate fire/lightning sigils nerf), make it non-target only (but still non projectile) and no scaling mb.

AFAIK hj games do not affect your statistics now (probably after BWE2 or BWE3).

MEsmer: Can’t get to him, i can only use my bow skills, which is in all honesty only half of my dps when i use traps, it does good dps but mesmer usualy drops me before i drop him, his ilusions always set off my traps, i try to not engage them at all.

I have different experience (not pvping much lately though).
Probably you are doing something wrong . Decent DH beats mesmer(crono) of same skill (on a point in conquest mode) most time unless moa’ed.
Preset traps + fresh traps CDs + rune of the trapper + LoSing behind some obstacle + longbow (better mid/far range weapon then mesmer’s gs) + use mostly Purification only trigger big heal by mesmer’s illusions (if mesmer keeps range), etc.

Having a stun break with a cast time makes no sense.

Just FYI, cronomancers already have such stunbreak – Well of Precognition. Stunbreak part comes immediately, well part – after cast time.
Btw all cronomancer’s new aoe skills (wells) have cast time. 3/4s-1s (if have offensive part – 4 skills in total.) or 1/4s (only defensive -1 skill)

Idk. Usually I preset 2 traps on a point while capping and have recharged CDs when somebody comes. Then I go los near point and you are welcome to range me. Most times I would range you playing with los, blocks and longbow.
Teamwork, +1? Ok, it works agaisnt all/most builds, including that considered as OP.

Problem is that not so much builds have similar to dh range pressure or can do bunch of dodges.
Range can help if you playing around with some obstacle/los. But dh can do the same. Sit on a point full of traps with fresh CDs and LoSing assaulters.
Dh good at range, very good at melee, have bunch of boons, low cds. Minuses: medium to low mobility (JI, F2, mb weapon leap/port), not much condi removal. In general effectiveness/effort ratio for team fights seems very big for me. But I don’t want to qq cause meta need time to be established, time to adapt, etc.

I saw very good dh beating every one at angz (1×1 server) till another good scrapper came and beat him. But it is not about 1×1. It’s more about impact on a team, reward/effort ratio, etc. Probably many (every?) of new elites have balance issues. Just makes me sarcastic when I see another “go range” or “l2dodge” post. Ok, let’s take more time to test/adapt.

At glance DH seems very strong. Damage combined with skill’s CDs. Very good ranged dps and utility, enemy wreckage in melee, good sustain through boons. Good melee and range at the same time…
Not sure though, mb need some time to adapt. Condi? Don’t like it much.

I play as mesmer in PvP

Im unkillable because the stealth is ridiculously long and has short cd on torch and utility plus the phantasms chase people untill they die and they can just be resummoned right away not to mention we can go in stealth and just summon more without having to come out of stealth. The staff makes it so hard to figure out where we are as well its not even possible to kill a good mesmer now unless your traited specifically for it and still they can run away in stealth most of the time.
