You would trade convenience for saving taxes. Seems fair.
But you will also have to spend effort finding buyers and sellers like in GW1 then if you want to avoid tax. Sounds better either way.
I doubt this, it would make prices on everything drop if demand from traders is gone.
Also as the game ages you can easily buy cheap new accounts to scam valuable items. I wouldnt be suprised if the base game will be avaible for 10$/€ as soon as the first paid expansions arrived. 10$ to scam expensive items isnt much and definatly cheaper than buying gems or from goldsellers.
1. It will stop people buying items on the trading post to instantly put it back in for a higher price, because the price margins are not enough if tax is 50%.
2. If they do that they can easily be scammed and Anet wont help them (I know from experience, got scammed before).
How is buying items from other players to craft something legendary? Its stupid and promotes capitalism.
Trading rare finds with fellow adventurers to complete you weapon project that you are working on for ages? You know, weapon is legendary because it requires rare and hard to obtain materials not because you have to be legendary trader…
Also, dont equalize trade with capitalism. Its shallow.
What could be more capitalistic than this trading post with almost zero restrictions and a mere 15% tax? Tax should be at least 50%
How is buying items from other players to craft something legendary? Its stupid and promotes capitalism.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t make it too easy. I like the extreme challenge.
extreme challange? theres not a single challange involved
Well I dumped all my candy corn for 1cu each into the trading post today and sold all ToT bags and yellow halloween crafting materials to the merchant today. Saves a lot of bank space.
Same with charged lodestones. I figured I need to do 1000 CoE runs to get 100 charged lodestones (counting core to lodestone conversion) if I continue to get them at the current rate. If I would want to make Mjolnir thats even 3500 runs…
But theres zero supply, except the existing one. Noone in their right mind will craft them if the price wont go up.
Again, you’re not the standard. If you have a legendary then you are among the 0,5%. The things you did don’t apply to the common player. 2 million people can’t make money off finding good farming spots before anyone else or selling items while they’re still in low supply. We need a more universal method, something everyone can engage in.
Then rename “legendaries” to “common”?
Why? legendary is not a rarity. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/legendary
Why isnt there a culling slider? I want to be able to see 50+ people.
originally I think they planned legendary and mystic quality.
so there would have been exotic (oragange)—>legendary(red)—> and mystic purple
looks like they scrapped the mystic quality and merged it with legendary
But I agree. Mjolnir for example is the legendary hammer of the nordic god Thor. Why is it only exotic?
Whats wrong with having more socialism in the market of a fantasy MMO? Its bad enough there is so much capitalism in real life.
Playing the trading post isnt a honest way of earning a legendary imo. It doesnt suffer from diminishing returns like almost everything else in this game and manipulates prices.
wow, i just give up
you’re actually saying you want the process to be easier because you keep using the wrong and harder way of achieving it… that really tells a lot
this is what i was talking about when i wrote using your brain to find profitable way to achieve your goal instead of being stubborn
but apparently you’d rather be stubborn, then go ahead and work way harder on an already hard process to get no benefits in return, possibly even making you sick of the game
You are funny. Dont you think its sad playing the most challanging and fun content of the game gives a lot less rewards than mindless Orr farming or trading post manipulation (flipping and all the dishonest other crap you can do)?

For people saying some precursors are dirt cheap, like the focus precursor, there is a reason for it. The finished legendaries look very underwhelming and not worth the effort.
Same with underwater legendaries. Almost noone will make them, as long as theres no good reason to spend a lot of time underwater.
Alos legendary does not mean grind, lots of gold and farming or even RNG.
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/legendary
legendary (not comparable)
Of or pertaining to a legend or to legends.
Appearing (solely) in legends.
Having the splendor of a legend; fabled.
Having unimaginable greatness; excellent
nowhere it says legendary means takes months to get.
Well but theres no save trading outside of TP, so people risk loosing a lot if they use mail.
Very good news, lets hope precursors drop below 100g. They shouldnt cost more than a full set of t3 cultural armor.

Thanks. I am sure people will appreciate it.
Good idea, it would also fix the problem of crafted items being worth the same or even less than crafting materials.
Hopefully not, I dont want dozens of low lvls and twinks ask if they can join my group just because of the exp reward.
brilliant idea, i want to kick magic find griefers from my dungeon farm groups.
CoE is fine, only charged lodestone/core droprate needs to be increased SIGNIFICANTLY. At laest 500% raise.
Sounds good. Precursors cant become more expensive than 1000g, since you cant hold more than 1000g at the same time (afaik). So there would be a hardcap.
Trading gold for gems is a goldsink. The person who sells gems gets about 30% less than you have to pay for your gems.
Maybe its different on the servers.
Its a very free economy even with the manipulations by both players and anet around. Real life economy has much more manipulations and regulations.
200g
so 2.000.000 coins
Its true, I know a trader who makes upto (or even over) 50g a day on the TP, even farming the most lucrative locations in the game will hardly yield 50g a day if you farm 14h. But the trader makes it in spending like 60minutes top of the day.
Problem is, currently skins sell for significantly less than crafting them. So why would anyone craft them?
Maybe make 4 halloween skins into the MF a guaranted precursor? Would be expensive enough with 400+ gold per forge.Because there are 300 on the TP (figures from this thread, not from the actual TP) and more than 300 people that play GW2?
Do you see anyone running around with halloween skins? I didnt see one in days. So the demand isnt there, probably because the skins look sub par anyway.
I’m curious about this, as well. I’m wondering if the economy team sees almost 5 million CC on the trading post as a problem or not. That’s not counting whatever people are holding on to.
4 million CC is enough to make 2000 skins. Currently there are roughly 300 skins on the TP. They aren’t selling because they’re expensive and no one’s making any more because the cost to make them is 5x the cost to buy them. That means nothing is getting sinked there at the moment. I think the only place CC is currently leaving the market is through consumables, and not very quickly at that.
300 skins and enough for 2000 more on a TP which serves every single server?
Doesn’t sound like there is a huge over-supply to me, unless there are significantly fewer people playing GW2 than I thought.

Endgame of gw2 is a grind to look prettier. For the last 300h+ of playtime I did little else than trying to farm for my legendary (sunrise) and not getting much closer because prices keep skyrocketing (precursors and mats like lodestones).
Salvaging doesnt give stuff like claws or blood or lodestones.
support, dungeons are too easy except arah which is perfectly well balanced
Good idea.
(I am months away from getting a legendary)
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/Recent-Market-Shifts
Guess what this means? Legendaries will become even more expensive. Ektos, t5 and t6 materials are spiking already.
So getting a precursor through mystic forge also getting more expensive.
Arah armor is so ugly. Even cathedral of flame armor looks better.
No support, there should be less waypoints than now to actually punish you for wiping.
Soulbound on equip, but I heared you cannot trade them out of your account anyway.
Dawn at 400g already.
Or he didnt equip Sunrise and only used preview.
You need to have Sunrise and Twilight on one character if they are soulbound.
It wont cost nothing, but it will definatly significantly drop in value if they are a reward from new endgame dungeon.
Gold sellers give 500g for 200€, so much better than gem —> Gold conversion rate. Maybe anet should make gems more desireable.
A temporary recipe to get rid of halloween materials would be good. to have another shot at the portable mystic forge
