If he just picked up the crab and run around in circles the whole game it might not be enough, it is not based on personal score as far as I can tell, since you can get those by just holding the crab in your hands
The minigames have anti afk farm mechanics, maybe you triggered it with a too low activity level
LS3E3 was the worst one so far. That elixir is a terrible mechanic and instances felt very boring, too.
Then Anet should reduce the timed challenge to 10 or 15 minutes to make up for this change.
Personally I think it should be fixed because now you can ignore the 3 elites and just burst down Mai Trin. When she respawned at 100% it was worth killing the elites.
Mai Trin on lvl 98 does not seem to full heal anymore after the 3rd cannon phase like it did on fractals 100.
This makes the timed challenge of 25 minutes for the Ad Infinitum 4 collection even easier than it was, so this is hopefully a bug?
Hardcore world bosses were a terrible idea. Tequatl was abandoned on most servers before the megaserver made killing it regularly possible, and literally everyone except for the specialized guild dedicated to killing the triple wurm abandoned that dumpster fire of a fight within a week.
Tequatl is not even hardcore, it was stealth nerfed multiple times
Tequatl has never been nerfed, players were buffed (removing condition stacks in particular hit world bosses hard and most of them got HP buffs to compensate).
You are kidding yourself if you think Tequatl was never nerfed. I remember when he was new and the whole map was on teamspeak. There were no afk leechers. The double damage spots were already known and people used consumeables like the fire elemental. There was a melee zerg back then.
Yet there were only 2-3 minutes left on the clock despite having a highly organised group of players who were briefed what to do.
Then one day random unorganized pug maps which barely filled 5min before spawn finished with 8-10min time remaining, 10+ afk slackers and no consumeables. And most people just pewpew with ranged attacks from far away not making use of double damage spots.
This was before HoT and crit damage mind you. So at the minimum Anet halfed Tequatls total health to explain this.
At the same time Anet reduced the drop rates of Tequatls hoard. I used to see several hoards posted per kill, now I feel lucky if one person reports a drop.
Good idea, delete all daily/monthly AP and double all permanent AP in return.
Look at @Rauderi’s suggestion instead. LWS1 achievements already gave out way too many AP for the low effort required. If anything is doubled it should only be the achievements that are permanently obtainable (aka all of the non historical ones).
On a related note I do think that the list of new achievements you put together a while ago should be implemented. It was a pretty good list of stuff that should be included
It is the opposite, a lot of the new achievements give too few AP. It is insulting if something like the nightmare fractal challenge only gives 5 AP. Same with collections that need a lot of resources such as the Koda one (5 AP) or the Destroyer weapon collection (3 AP).
The AP reward chests were obviously balanced around the LS1 AP rewards and not the current releases which give maybe 2k AP per year including expansions.
If Anet does not want to increase the amount of achievements included in each release, then they need to go back to LS1 AP amounts (and rebalance existing achievements while they are at it)
Remove it all and make dailys not give ap and I do have 4k ap comeing from monthlys and 7k from dailys it does not show your real achivments it just shows you logged in for 10 minutes every day also lower cost of achivment rewards and add bonuses to titles and minis ty for listening.

99% of the achievements have nothing to do with skill, only time spent in the game, getting a legendary takes no skill, getting 1000 kills in pvp takes no skill, collecting an item that drops randomly takes no skill…
GW2 is a MMO with a casual skill cap. So most achievements will be about time and resource investment over skill.
But honestly this is no different to real life achievements, most of them are just a result of dedication. Getting a doctor grade in physics? 80% dedication, 20% skill and luck.
It is hard to say where dedication ends and skill starts, most of the time skill only lets you do things faster or more realiable.

I can only hope it comes back next year now that 2016 is almost over and all chances to reopen the Crown Pavillon got skipped for over 2 years now.
If Anet does not intend to ever bringing it back it would be great if they would say so, so I do not have to get my hopes up for it at every remotely fitting opportunity.
The tax payers of Divinity Reach should start a riot that so much gold was wasted on building this large structure taking up 1/7 of the whole city and only has been used twice in several years.

I think costs less than crafting it because people crafted tons of the charged ambrite back when quartz was cheap and the supplies are still not used up
30 seconds is a lie. I came like 10min after the map reset and it was still tier 1. Maybe you got unlucky and entered a organised and populated map
Well it would be too easy if you did not get punished by having to start over the instance. It is not exactly hard. I even heared you can hide at the room before the boss and let the NPCs do the job until you have to pick up the scroll. Maybe try that if you have issues with the achievement.
It is good that the reset motes are gone, so it feels more punishing to fail the achievement
I do not like / support any of your suggestions. Would reduce the replayability of the game.
The elixir crap is a horrible mechanic. Good thing it is just another map with 0 replay value, so I doubt I will visit it again after finishing the achievements (and buying the unlocks)

None of the HoT metas qualify as hardcore anymore. Chak Gerent before its nerf might have qualified
I think having easy mode encounters in raids are terrible. They are a time waste for people who enjoy high difficulty encounters and offer too good rewards for people who just want rewards. Easy encounters should give no ascended items or legendary insights for example.
I disagree with removing the “Shadow Assassin Short Bow” even though it shares the same skin other another item.
Unless the item gets deleted from the wardrobe at the same time, because it would give an impossible to correct advantage when comparing unlocked skins with other people.
I think Anet need to be a little more transparent about what is being done with reports. We can wish I suppose.

Yes the 15k cap only exists for daily+monthly. Permanent and historic achievements are not affected

They should delete AP from dailies and monthlies and double AP from all permanent achievements. It was a stupid idea to give dailies/monhtlies AP to begin with.
So its good there is a cap for daily AP very least, preserves a tiny bit of prestige for the highest AP rewards.

I prefer playing against teams with 3 druids instead of 3 dhs, at least druids will never be able to one shot you or make rezzing/stomping impossible
I think stronghold should be disabled for seasons until you fixed it to be more popular. Currently there are people who cheese their way to legend in ~60 games per season with almost guaranteed wins. They rather have their 45min+ queue times and farm unsuspecting newbies than earn their season badges in proper pvp.

I think the matchmaking quality of seasons would go up a lot if it only allowed solo queuing with no class stacking, Rerolling mid match would also have to result in instant dishonour instead of only if you need more than 2minutes to reroll.
Example: A single trap guardian or rev is not much of a problem, but if you have 2 of each in a premade there is little chance to beat it with pugs.

My current concern with the charged quartz is the guild hall mine upgrading. That takes a lot of ley-infused tools, and each one of those needs a charged quartz. I had a small stock of charged quartz and was able to donate it to Mining Rate 2, but that means I no longer have enough for Mining Rate 3. Perhaps not a problem for a guild of 500, but in a guild with five currently active members, three of us doing most of the mats donating, it means a serious slowdown in hall growth beyond our already glacial rate (we’re bearing down on all of level 22, after claiming the hall in the first week possible).
I think this is by design. Buy ley line tools on the trading post if it is not going fast enough for you.

Mesmer can spike very hard with condies and if u get cc like 1- 3 secs u might have time to react but when u get moa 7 seconds u cant use any skills and then u might even get moa again.
Moa is super strong in a 1v1 situation , and having loads of condies on u its almost for sure u will die, i think thats what he ment.And? If you get hit with a large power attack while you’re in moa you’re still gonna drop, based off that logic, nerf moa…yeah ok good discussion.

I think dishonor stacks stay for 72 hours after the penalty run out. So if you get dishonor too often the penalty gets longer and longer
