Not a fix at all. They only come with less than 0.1% chance from heavy moldy bags and even lower chance from mawdrey bags.

On the one hand, I don’t agree that just anyone should be able to buy the set with gems, but on the other, the achievement point system is horribly, ridiculously broken, so meh.

It would help if they had changed the order of the rewards so that by 18k AP you could get a complete set. But to get the other you still need 36k AP.

Yes. They should change the order in which we get those skins, so you could complete a set before the currrently ridiculous value of 33k AP, but at the same time they should stay AP-only.

You complete a set at 30k AP, 33k gives your 2nd leg skin, 36k your 2nd chest skin.

@ Maledikus, Except I have played the whole game, 22k AP here, and everything I do I do legit, unlike you, since you are just an OS farmer grinding Ultimate Dominator, no one respects you for that, and why should I care who is in your friendslist? I sure as hell wouldn’t want to be associated with you or anyone else that takes part in those OS farm events that you are so proud of, its pathetic.

At this point no one knows just how much Anet will nerf these titles, if they devalue my work by completely undercutting what I have already done then sure I will be annoyed, but I will live with it.

@ Atoss, I could think of a few more titles for him tbh :P

OS farm is legit, our beloved Game Security Lead Chris Cleary said so.

So many casuals in this thread that just want everything now, I would rather they leave the achieves as they are right now than cater to casuals.

Its a casual game and if you think a single achievement should take years of real time, than you are playing the wrong game.
With 9k hours you can EASILY get 27k+ achievement points if you started playing at release. I fail to see how a single achievement should take more time and grind than all the other 100s of achievements together.

You are right I could have easily got 27k achieve points, but guess what? I didn’t care about getting them, I care about playing WvW and that’s where I prioritize my time, you asking for Ultimate titles for cheap is like me saying “Hey anet I want 27k AP too but I cba to work for it, but give it to me anyway” get my point?
And yes I do want achievements that take years to get, and guess what again, that’s exactly what we have… I’m not playing the wrong game, maybe you are…

A dev said 2 years ago that the current values are placeholders, so its your own fault if you worked that hard to reach just 2.7% of the goal (27k of 1m dolyaks). Insisting now that your work should be valued is nonsense. And the past showed that Anet does not hesitate to devalue peoples work whenever it makes sense for them.

And guess what? I much rather have people with 25k+ AP in my friendlist, parties and guilds than some hypotetic person with yakslapper or ultimate raider. It only shows you focused thousands of hours on a very specific thing instead of playing the whole game. So yes, I would have no sympathy for you if your “work” gets devalued.

Vavume numbers are way out of line. 5k camps flipped would already be insane. Every achievement should be made with an average of six months of continuous playing to get them in mind.

Why should they? 6 months is nothing, some of us have played WvW for nearly 3 years now, so the achieves need to represent that in some way, nothing wrong with having an achieve that takes 3 years to get imo, its called difficult, there is already far to many easy achieves catering to casual players, there should be at least some that cater to the hardcore.

You said you spent around 9k hours in WvW. Thats over a whole year of ingame time (a year has 8760 hours). I bet the vast majority of players did not even play 1k hours of GW2 let alone WvW during the 3 years. You suggested 40k camps which would take over 2 years of real time even with your playstyle. That is outrageous.
If Anet reworks the achievements I doubt they will spend the effort to cater to a tiny fraction of a percent of the playerbase.

I would just love it for the sake of god, if ANet would finally remove that stupid follower list from the game and add the mechanic to the game, that for getting “friends” added, you need to accept a friendship request…

the way how anet handles the current system,s the whole communication and chattign stuff i nthis game is WORSER THAN FACEBOOK and thats some kind of bad achievement to achieve first, one must say to design a communication system, thats worser functionizing than what FB offers…seriously

We live in 2015 and not in 1985, there should be more and better communication organization options in and for our friend lists.

When I want to kick someone permanently from my “follower list”, assuming Anet is so insistent to keep that crap for whyever,, then it should be everyones personal choice to kick Person X permanently from the own follower list.
But as the system works now, once sombody follows you, that person basically will follow you into all eternity, even that person becomes inactive and never returns, but that stupid following just spams your list bigger forever making it harder and harder to actually keep that list clear >.>

No I like my follower list. I have like 1000+ people following me.

No one bother with harder content if it don’t reward something good.

And if it reward something good, it just become cash cow for pro group who either speed run it fast or sell it to other players.

You make it sounds like its something bad to reward good players for doing harder content. In fact it is something really good because it encourages people to get better instead of farming chests in silverwastes (or whatever is the flavor of the month farm), playing the trading post or buying lots of accounts for daily login rewards.

Currently GW2 has a seriously out of whack reward system.

Tequatl gives way better rewards than tri headed worm despite being much easier.
Fractals 50 gives 1.4g (the rings are vendor food at this point and you get duplicate skins most of the time if any) while needing the time of an full ascalon run, even with an above averaage group.

The easy regular dungeons are on farm status for everyone and give guranted gold + tokens you can use for dungeon specific armor and weapon skins.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Malediktus.9250

Malediktus.9250

All that said, I sometimes have a hard time separating out those who want a challenge from those who want better (and/or exclusive) rewards. Often, the two wants are inseparable.

Most seem to want better rewards, so they can sell them for greater profit or to give themselves an advantage.

This game is good in the fact it’s not going to have better stats than ascended. That’s one thing this game needs to stick to.

Harder content doesn’t need to have better rewards, if the reason is purely to test your skills.

Trouble is a lot of raiders in other games do it for the profit they can get from the better rewards. They are effectively stimulated by the amount of gold they can make per hour rather than how difficult it is.

There is nothing wrong with wanting harder content with better/more profitable rewards. Why should low skilled activities like chest farm in silver waste be the most profitable thing?

The opposite should happen. Each dungeon should have at least 1 spot where 5 players are required to stop people from soloing group content.

No.

Edit: Why on earth would you enforce that? As long as a dungeon is set up to promote challenging group play, there is zero reason to arbitrarily enforce a specific number of minimum players.

Add in n person requirements/gates when you think they make sense/increase the challenge/fun. For all other times, if someone is capable of soloing group content (or doing it duo or three/four man), why should you whack in gates to prevent that?

Because something that can be soloed can hardly be challenging for a group. See all the speed run records. The dungeons are a joke for any half decent group.

Seeking WvW Forum Specialists

in WvW

Malediktus.9250

Do we have a specialist yet?

They have been selected, emails were sent out yesterday.

How do you know?

I applied, and recieved this email. http://i.imgur.com/OV0rcV7.png

I’m sad I did not get the title, but I am sure who ever they selected is up for the task.

Alt account? Cos even you only have a total of 11 posts in 5 months. The only difference is that at least you posted in the WvW forums section

Again I have 4 pages worth of posts in 3 months, again mostly in WvW, and again I do not meet the requirements to apply.

The fact that Gaile said she would keep your application on record yet again signals bad tidings for us, the WvW community. We need someone who is active both in game and in forums!

I think instead of the mods telling us what is good for us they should hold an election, people who want to be FS can apply and then let the players decide who they want.

Lack of posts is a terrible argument. Its like saying “we prefer you have atleast 3-5 years experience for this entry level job”. The fact is you have no idea how I would have done the job, having 10000 posts does not make you qualified, it only makes your opinions known. The position requires being able to parse information, not post a silly opinion or “My Top 5 Fixes For WvW”, none of which are actually feasible. You think the people who lurk instead of posting are less capable of doing the job?

So congratulations on having 4 pages of posts, it means literally nothing other than you post a lot. If someone had 4 pages of “terrible” (ie, doesnt align with your beliefs on WvW fixes), who you still approve of them?

Yes, I strongly believe a worthy WvW specialist should have 100+ good posts in the WvW subforum.

But we all know the forum specialists are just a ploy to lull the masses, so who cares who becomes one.

If someone combines this sheet, the API data and some human expertise about the easier/hardest APs to gain, this can be a great way to gain a little AP every day.

Maybe it would also be possible to make a website where people could voluntarily upload their achievement and wardrobe data for other people to inspect. This is also something I always wanted to make or see such a site happen because people ask me all the time for details about my achievements or wardrobe (trust me, being top 10 ranked it happens quite a lot).
