You dont even need to do that. You can hit 3rd floor trebs from outside the walls with arrow cart mastery

You can counter any SM treb with arrow carts or trebuchets.

The lag makes it almost unplayable today, tried reentering but always on the same /ip. Probably too many virtual machines on that server to save money.

I agree the rewards for all the effort is pretty terrible. I recently reached 21k AP and got the shiny boots, but they are again a letdown because they have clipping errors with various leg pieces I own, cannot be colored and look the same for light/medium/heavy armor.
Zenit skins are absolutly worthless since as you said can be obtained from 1k points on.

So will the developers go grind out or buy these legendaries from the trading post or will you pull them out of thin air? Both pulling ingame items out of thin air and giving free gems costs you only the manpower to apply them to the accounts = almost nothing.
Smells like a cheap way to hype sPvP for you because you wont have to give 10000 USD.

Also if you want eSports go polish Keg Brawl. Keg Brawl is as close as eSports will ever get to GW2, yet the developers completly neglect it.

Difference is if you buy legendary at TP someone worked on created it, but Anet will pull the 10 (5 NA, 5 EU) legendaries for this tourney out of thin air.
Anet should make a livestream where Anet employes grind out everything for these rewards. As it is now its just an extremly cheap way to hype pvp. Both gems and creating legendaries/precursors out of thin air costs them close to nothing (just the manpower to apply the stuff to the accounts)

I’m sorry but I refuse to pay a sub-fee for ESO or any other game after GW2. Guild Wars 2 has spoiled me silly, I simply can not go back to paying sub-fee’s when I’ve seen a company that has constant new stuff, so much that I can barely keep up, that always has updated, that’s always fun and never boring. A game this good, without a subscription fee, that you just buy once and then continue playing, and I’m not forced to go into cash shop because it’s just visual aesthetics and nothing more and doesn’t affect the game or my enjoyment in any way, a game this good without a sub-fee…. It has spoiled me. I’m spoiled now and I can’t go back to paying a subscription every month for an mmo game that isn’t half as good as GW2. (and fyi I played eso in beta, it’s kittening kitten)

In my opinion ESO is not dangerous to GW2 in any way as ESO is B2P+P2P+$shop. And I’ve played it a lot during beta but it’s nothing special. Just another generic mmo with a Tamriel sticker on it.

I knnnooowww… It’s terrible. I played beta too, I expected way more. After GW2 I don’t think I’ll ever pay a subscription ever again for any mmo. Those other companies need to step the kitten up and get on Arena’s level or they’re not gettn my money.

I just started with PvE and after few hours of playing it, I am speechless. In every single dung i met ppl who are just running and ignoring tons of mobs. They dont care if they die, like 30×. They just run and trying to avoid. WTF is dat? there is absolutly no reward for killing them? Its worth to avoid 50% of dung? I am almost sure, killing it would be faster then trying to run like mindless npc.
but fighting with bosses is even better – bug or nothing. I can understand, everybody is trying to use glitchies and bugs in their favor. But this is just wrong.
Pve is about how to not pve.

You nailed it. Dungeons and loot mechanics in GW2 are one of the worst I ever encountered in a MMO

Why should I not talk? I am r56 myself (1114 won tPvP games), WvW rank on main over 700 and over 21k achievement points. You cant say I didnt devote any time to this game.

Now I know why you are so worked up about this. You are actually proud of being one of the guys with most Achievement Points in the game, as if the Achievements themselves were actually challenging to get.

10 people will come out of this tournament with a Legendary. And I can stand by this claim that they will be in fact, worthy of one. Can you say the same about the PvE method of getting Legendaries? Where a skilled individual might try for years and not get one sight of a precursor, where a bowbear comes along and gets first shot first suceed at getting a precursor? Where’s the effort/worthiness there huh?

Whenever I see a guy walking by with a Legendary in PvE, I’m not impressed. But you’re kitten right I’m gonna be impressed when I see a guy walking with a Legendary in PvP. That shows what he has done, and what he is capable of.

Of course this whole scenario will be flushed down the toilet when Anet allows for skin-cross over between PvE and PvP. Then the 10 legendaries in PvP will mean absolutely nothing to the infinite-spam of PvE legendaries, created through luck and mindless grinding.

you got it all wrong, I am not impressed by winning a tournament in GW2 at this point either, maybe if it was done without using any meta builds, but wait for it. sPvP in this game doesnt require any player skill.

@Gene: What Arenanet did is legal and it is good for the gaming community to get better items from their gem store at the same price. Trying to restrict that is to force them to sell old crappy stuff in their gem store so that you can maintain some perceived advantage for yourself. It has a selfish purpose and it is bad for everyone else so why should we support that?

Guess what you get these sprockets in addition to the older permanent pickaxes, which also costed 1k gems. Your argument is worthless.

The engy is probably the weakest cause he is easy to stomp + pathetic damage that prevents win in the downfight 1v1.

How does immunity to one stomp help? That immunity almost always ports you out of the point you are trying to hold and in 1v1 downed you still loose anyway.

Actually engineer does decent damage and can interrupt skills/stomps.

Guardian and Ranger seem to be the most powerful in downstate to me. Guardian has a very powerful aoe heal and ranger can use his pet to rezz him. Vengeance from warriors would be another problematic downed skill in my opinion, since it gives them access to their full set of regular skills.

Weakest classes in downstate seems to be mesmer and elementalist to me.

Currently skills while in downed mode are vastly imbalanced if you compare different classes, to the point that if two downed players fight the result is pre determined. Are there any plans to make downed mode more balanced?

PS I don’t have a legendary and relatively few nice skins as I don’t have time for multiple dungeon runs. Also I don’t mind this so much despite it excluding non sPvPers from a chance at the reward I just fine the idea of someone having no nice skins after 3000 hours to be ludicrous.

I meant the pve population as a whole. And I do have tons of pve sets from dungeons, all of which were substantially easier to get in pve than in pvp.

So let’s take all the legendaries you pve players have, create a ratio to downscale it to the pvp population and distribute legendaries to XX% of pvp players.

Now you pve’er can get our 5 legendaries from this tournament.

Oh, and we get your weapon skins exclusive to pve as well.

Not really, PvP is much less content than PVE. There is nothing as tedious as 100% map completion in PvP for example.

To infuse a non colored Spinal Blade backpieces (Tempered Spinal Blades) you need 1 Tempered Spinal Blade, 250 Glob of Ectoplasm, 1 Gift of Ascension, 1 Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence.
To infuse the colored Spinal Blade backpieces (Static, Dynamic, Synergetic Tempered Spinal Blades) you only need: 1 [Type] Tempered Spinal Blades + 10 Pile of Crystalline Dust + 1 Glob of Coagulated Mist Essence + 1 Gift of Ascension in Mystic Forge

So if you infuse it before choosing a color you wasted 250 ectos and I came to the conclusion this must be a bug. If its not I want my stack of ectos back, I infused mine before the recipes for colored Tempered Spinal Blades became available.

This bug has been around forever but still not fixed: If the lord dies once you cannot talk to him anymore until the castle gets flipped again.
This makes it often impossible to claim it to a different guild when buffs run out.
