give us siege devoulvers in wvw. i cant image anything else usefull pet in wvw
my pet die from bosses as before. no difference in combats
its a pure shame… they made it for a consumable item and in gw1 it was a basic…
i changed my pets name to “I Hate Pet System”

example: bear remove condis oeriodicly in aoe and on f2 it provide 2-3 sec invul in aoe.
wolf give party power buff and fear for f2. cats give us party crit and dunno what when we press f2. drakes share drake venom and aoe confusion for f2 etc…
in pvp the sword is an op weapon. its very good in any 1v1 situation. but if there are more than 1 enemy its pain in the@ss. you need to stop in the attack chain to move and loose damage or select a target and lock yourself or not selest anybody and fly away. the problem is this is our only melee one handed and we cant use it out of 1v1… make axe main as a cleave melee and i will be ok.
maul is our only good attack. but warrior auto attack is nearly same powerful.

i created my ranger at the start -3 day. nobody expected what will come. anet dont like ranged weapons and pet gameplay. we kittened…
i dont want pet. i play wvw, they are useless there.

Ranger:
- pet survivability has always been flat out unacceptable. Often 1-2 shot in dungeons and large scale wvw.
- Instead of having “passive” mode, give pets a “spirit” mode. The pet stops attacking, no longer takes damage, but imbues the Ranger with a pet-specific buff. For instance, maybe a crit bonus while a cat is on passive, maybe a chance to cause bleeding while a shark is on passive, you get the idea.
- pigs: pet f2 performance is unacceptable. drop an object on the ground? really? that enemies can pick up? really?
- why does “Guard” shout have a cast time?
+1 to this. Especially spirit mode, which WOULD get rid of all of the “Pet being useless” talk. Especially if one of the traits was changed to give the passive buff to up to 5 people nearby.

and the mighty roar… 3 sec cast for a 10 sec buff. and yes, the skill not show the right time. as some other pet buffs.
lb is not an spvp weapon. impossible to keep distance and the terrain is designed to hide.atm lb is a wvw sniper weapon. barrage the zerg, switch to greatsword, surf in the front line after u win switch nback and finish the low hps
pets will suck in a lot of situations. in wvw they are useless. i hope they will give us pets without Ai. whisp like things whats follow us closely not dealing or receiving dmg just buffing us and/or the party.
maul is a necesery buf. dodge prot is a bug patch other updates are nerf or useless changes. pet hp buff is a joke. if i know pets will be this useless i choose warrior at the -3 day, but now i invested too much in ranger. i like the feeling of my sylvari ranger but im useless in any team.

999999 hp or 0 mean nothing in wvw. pets dont have cleave or spammable aoe attack, they stop when attack and stuck to a single target.
i want to see axe as a power based melee weapon. 2 fast and strong chop in a chain the 3rd could put a short weakness on the target and maybe a spin attack, winters should be an aoe blast finisher with chill, split blade is good as it now. we realy need a good one hand melee weapon. sword is launch or root you.
i think they are not OP. We are underpowered. anet give us rangeed fight style with minions but they prefer the melee style with cc. thats what looks better on twitch tpvp channels.
power builds good for zerging but not to solo roaming. i used a 30/20/20 build with knight armor, zerk jewels, signets. u can survive a lot with that. now i change to 30/0/20/20 with PVT armors and jewels. im undestroyable and have 3600 power with sharpening stone and 3k+ armor and a lot of hp. you dont need big crit in wvw. more important to survive.
i want axe as a melee with a chilling blast finisher and a cool spinning aoe attack
axe is not good.
sword and pvp builds for roaming.
use gs and tank for zerging.
that will be a nerf. we always get nerfs
doesn’t need stealth ? are u joke ? how u defeat a engi/necro/war without stealth ? if u can it just because they are nooooooooooooooooooooooooobs . what’s your pvp rank ? if not above 45 , u can’t talking about fighting , and the most important is , there is no 1 v 1 fighting in wvw , how can u escape without stealth?
as any other profession. i think put stealth in this game was a bug mistake. ranger sword is a playstyle what i can immagine to a thief. more agility and less stealth and blind to the thieves. (and mesmers)
i want to see axe as a melee weapon with a good auto chain. winters bite could be melee and a blast finisher.
im a wvw player. i hope they give the ranger (and not to the pet) more party support and blast finisher, cc and aoe or cleaw dmg
i bet it will be a nerf. we gain nerf in every patch. they communicate it as a buff but no. every single big update was a dps loss at the end.
ranger shouts are bad. Anet can buff them to hell, but they will be bad. we need to trait signets to make effect on us (loool) and we trait or not shouts thats not affect anybody. waste of slot… loooooooool! now they want sick em to reveal stealth on a single target in every 40 secs megalol!
they need seriously rethink ranger
Increase base HP to 18-20k like mesmers.
Our base HP is not 18-20k. It’s around 15k. If we want more, it comes from gear and traiting into likes just like eles trait into earth.
Elementalists have 10k base…no idea why. Guardians and Thieves also have this base health, but Guardians are tanks with innate healing, heavy armour and a zillion cleanses, while Thieves have medium armour, are very slippery, and are nearly impossible to lockdown.
Compare them to Elementalists, who have light armour and…a 40 second cooldown extra 2k heal? Nice work, Anet.
do you ever tried to kill a tank ele? there are 3 impossible thing in this game: a thief run out of stealth, a ranger pet do something in wvw and catch and kill a bunker ele.
out of general pve #1 is bad. totaly op in pvp while hitting someone but u cant finish him or dodge or anything. in wvw u have 3 choices. select a target and die when left your dudes, dont select a target and fly to the outer space, dont select target attack very slowly and not dealing enough damage.
why cant gain the ranger control of the pets skills when stoved? example: stove the moa and we use with f1-2-etc the heal, the shout… in wvw fights (zerg, siege or defense towers) the pets will never be good. they run up and down or die. if we use the pet skills that will be good. a knock down leap in the middle to the enemy on the wall and shout a fear. nothing what a necro or warrior or guardian with bubbles cant do. a heal with a stoved moa and a furry when and where i need. i think this is a real one with nature thing.
i play wvw, i will talk about wvw.
what rangers need: more team support but without pet or let us use pet skills when our minion died.
we need more cc and/or blast finishers we have the less and slowest blast finishers and techicaly only single target stun or cb. vines die within a sec. and guardian hammer 5 is strongar as our rooting elite.
we need main hand weapons! i mean usefull mains. sword is rooted death, axe need to be melee. auto attack always hit the floor and if u turn the camera cant see what sorrounds you.
traps need to be kit. engi bombs, granades, mines much much stronger.
split wvw pets from the other modes. they cant siege, defend or deal any damage in big fights. they cant run and hit multiple targets. we dont need them. give the pets power to us.
we need trait merge, change, move. we need spend 50 points to master a single weapon. merge signet traits. merge bow skills. merge trap skills.
give us shot backward trait

u forgot something. healing spring is our only one healing ability. staff ele have 2 water field AND a healing skill. Most of the time its hard to save our heal in wvw while waiting to the right moment to help our dudes. eles have an auto attack heal, can cast anytime a water field and they still have one more field if the commander call it. ohh sorry… dont forget the traited dodge what remove condi in aoe and the healing skill what they still have.
if we could trait on dodge to make a healing spring thats OK, but now its a bad choice for casual dungeon players, because water field cover the good fire field and the team cant blast might to kill the boss faster.

I hope they buff all of our skills because all of them “saw little play”.
And sick em will be a nerf. just watch! they will give something useless reveal and nerf the cool down to hell or the damage bonus.
And they need to do magic with our pets to be useful in wvw. i believe they will add little bonuses and after that forget us for a year again.
Weapon change? remove the root from sword? after a year finally they do a 2 min programing. or add a protection to the barrage what still will be a rooted death to us. who bet with me?
thieves spam stealth, we cant spam sick em. and pet still useless in wvw
ps: i think they will nerf the dmg buff from it and the reveal radius will be 180 or something like that. still useless in wvw/pvp and will be useless in dungeons.

what i miss is an active dev presence. more reply from them will make the forum more useful and the players will less qq. i want to know what the devs doing and why not what we think is important
use sword/torch and sb. u have poison, burning and a little bleeding. the ranger is not about to stack up and upkeep 25 stacks of bleed
pets will never work well in wvw. AND ranged attacks are bad in gw2. they want melee fight.
trait 30 points on marksman and trait the signets to affect you. knight or invaider armor or jewels the other part of the set can be zerk if u want, use troll ungement and divinity runes. lb/gs is good for wvw, but use sword/horn for dungeons. use stone/wild/hunt for wvw
i think we (the rangers) need a little more as graphic fixes. total profession rework. trait merges and moves, available weapon skills.
ps: i have a kudzu. i know what you talk about but its not priority for me atm.

if you realy want to play ranger you are in trouble. it was never good and nerfed to the hell. pet is kitten. most of our traits bad. but maybe they change it in this year.
i see moaaar ac! all we need is the body block from gw1. i want to see the number of siege stuffs decrasing. maybe max 3 from each kind of siege thing in a tower, 10 in a keep and ~15 in sm.
i hate when 30 enemy run in and build 10 ac within a second. thats a no skill gameplay.
move pets to utility slot. give us new mechanism. example “blessings”
f1: blessing of the wood: regen, toughness etc
f2: blessing of the serpent: condi dmg, duration…
f3: blessing of the pack: speed, power…
f4: blessing of the jaguar: prec, crit dmg etc…
they work as attumens. give bonus if active and have cooldown. if we trait on it they give the bonuses to the party etc…
pets not work and never will. an ai controlled system is op or up in any situations
i dont like the whole pet system. i hope they will remove pet from class mechanism and give us it back as an utility skill.

pets are kitten as they work atm
the pets are part of the ranger dmg. after the new weapon tier we need new pets and this is an excelent oppurtunity to give us something more usefull as the old pets. example: invulnerable pets whats not doing dmg but buff us/party
or preparations.
