when i commanding i always hunt down the backline first as any other commander. if u play zerker in the backline you are just a free loot bag. to heal a met shower is 2 dodge roll to a guardian.
if i not commanding and i see that 3-4k dmg flash on i will focus on that nabs. once i killed 3 eles with 2 hits. lol.
the escaping, positioning take time and lower the dmg. grab as much toughness as possible, stack to your buddys, use team speak and heal, stun, buff, aoe everybody
if u guys want dps use short sword and horn. forget range attacks. in this game range is always weaker
use full zerker if u not play on my server and toughness stuffs if we play together.
food+rune+adrenalin+signet+regen realy a little too much passive heal with 3.5k armor

only DR what i miss is the kd system from gw1. you cant cc somebody while under the effect of an other cc. the kd warrior was one rule with the highest skill requirement.
ranger dont have any good cc. thats all
the #4 is a low dmg single target skill whit ling cd what easyli dodgeable. #5 is a not too strong buff skill whit an impossible long cd. that 1 might is totaly useless.
maybe if u change #4 to an aoe skill with a blind and lower the cd of #5 and give us a good main hand weapon… but untill that horn will be a buff befor combat and change set.
you are right. we need to invest 30-40-50 points to make a single utility/weapon to work. other professions skills are just good as they are and improving with traits.

deso lost a lot of players, but i think still that server have one of the best community.
in gw1 you cant be knocked down while you not got up from the previous KD. it made the stun locking harder, but a skilled player still can stun lock anybody in 1v1

wvw is a team game. maybe if u and your friends think as a team and not as a 1v1 kingpin than you will win more.

Yes PPT kitten ruin every good fight. You try to kill some enemies and have fun until some third rat server try to PvD your T3 tower and fun ends. There should be rule that you can’t lose anything while there is orange swords in map or they could just remove whole ridiculous scoring system.

in wvw the flying mesmers and forever full init thieves, speed hack golems make the most truble. (and zoom hack AC, but sometimes that just an exploit)

My friend did this video. the thief used perma unload and that teleport stuff. and the end of the video the little asura went down but teleported away somewhere…

Just saw a mesmer climbing over walls to port people into keeps. This is in gold league, happened 2 hours ago.
If you think this is bad, 3 ppl just soloed a T3 tower champ with door intact and I am inside.No idea how they get there since there is no mesmer .Their dmg is so high or should I say fast that the champ goes down within 10sec. The minute I attacked them, they disappear (I believe they panic as there is no way I can win against that “skill”)
I’m also noted of the lack of timestamp in combat log in this game. I get daggered by ONE THIEF in 2sec(maybe it 1 sec) with a whole string of auto-attack but I dont see the point to post it as there is no way to prove that the thief hit all these 16 attack in 2sec.

Not for overflow. For a 5th map, which would happen to be this one, and which one would have to queue for, just like the others. Doesn’t change anything to infinite copies of this map being used as non-scoring overflow.
Heck, if a 5th map really makes people that angry, just swap the Borderlands map with this one every other week.
the more populated server will play with one other full map against the less populated servers 10-20 men in the overflow. no thx.
less populated servers often gathering on one map what makes queu on one map and wastelands on others. this will make an overflow map and let the other server to absolutly dominate.
one more scenario: every map is full from every side. its good its make a balanced game. but if overflows open the most populated will win.

the problem with the not-account bound wxp its root you to one character. in spvp you can change any time easyli when the meta changes. in pve you can learn every skills within a week or less (20 seconds with scrolls)
what if you bored with your character and want to change, but you dont want to be less useful? :/
after u put 30 points on toughness u can do anything. just change skills, weapons, armor

i played 2-300 lvl of wvw since the potions come. i never got any 5 lvl and only 5-6 half lvl drop. my guildie got 2 25k potion within 2 days. i never was a lucky guy.

the problem with vigor and swoop evaid: we dont have any good aoe ranged weapon so we need to stay in front line with our only mobile melee weapon with the GS. we dont have heavy armor and/or massive heal as warriors, guardians. the perma dodge is one option but a bad one. we are not dealing dmg or buff our allis while dodging. warriors without power traits have the same dmg as power rangers. if we dodge more we lose dmg. pls keep this in mind. we need an elementalist like aoe/support or warrior like dps/armor/cc or something the mix of it. the dodge is only good for guardian because it heal mass and ele for effects.
what will u need to be a good ranger in wvw: stability and melee. our only good melee weapon now is GS. for stability u need to put 30 points on marks and use signet. after patch 30 points on nature for 1 more stability. but we need to spend 20 points on wilder for recharge! its more points what we can spend. other proffs need to put points in 1 line or 20-20 or 30-10 in 2 lines.
a wvw commander tag sounds good. 10-20g and 1-2k badges. and maybe an option to setup guild only or open commander tag.
they wont realy prevent the transfer. gem buying is good for the busines.
Stop saying ranger. A good ranger brings much more than some other classes to a zerg.
You have a water field that cleanses conditions and brings regen, fire field (torch) that does a lot of dmg and traps you can even put on walls.
I do a lot of condition damage with my trap/condition build and i mostly use the pets for effects (fear, chill, etc.). You have to think your build specifically for wvw, not use some kind of berserk crit LB build.
I’m using Axe/Torch with a switch to LB (useful for players on walls, destroying ACs, etc.) and doing fine imo. Traps with targetting/bigger range, entangle. They all do big damage when spec’d for condition damage. The thing really missing to rangers is anti-CC (stability mainly) but other than that, it’s pretty solid.Sure it’s not the best class, but when played correctly, you’ll do just fine with a ranger.
Imo the thieves are harder to play efficiently in a zerg (i also play one but mostly for roaming and stealth kills)… however, as stated in an earlier post, WvW isn’t only zerg fights. Thieves do make great scouts. They are also good at protecting camps, sentries from roamers and defending a position / updating siege, etc. Sure it won’t give as much Wxp but it’s important as well.
you wrote a lot of funny thing. ranger have a lot of stability and will get more. rao, signet give you 30 sec stability untrained and more when spent point on trait.
healing spring isnt realy good because thats a healing skill. sometimes we cant wait to use it, and if the ball move away no more heal for us.
axe isnt good because the projectile not follow the ground line. we dont have any good main hand for big fights. our offs are not bad but mains are kitten.
engi granades, necro wells and marks, ele aoes are muchmuch better as our traps.
was great fights at bay on bb border yesterday! 500+ kills, 10 die (i die this much within 3-4 days other times) and a lot of though fight! gg elona, bb, and homies
Ranger. prof system not working in big or medium scales, no blast finisher (just on horn but no good main hand), no real cc (vines are destroyed instantly by aoe), other classes have bigger dmg without power as we have with a full power build, no support etc
Edit: i made 5k+ kills with my warrior since the season started and 27k with my ranger over a year

Power Rangers
One idea we talked about for Greatsword would be to take the evade off of the 3rd attack of the auto-chain and put it on swoop. This would give you a second on-demand defensive skill and instead we put something less timing based (for example a whirl finisher) on that third attack to empower it.Main-hand sword
I just want to clarify for good that main hand sword is currently working as intended. All movement skills cannot be interrupted by dodging and this is currently intentional. It has a very specific play style, and I would like it to remain. I understand that rangers want a one handed melee option that is more mobile, but that will have to wait, as I know there are a mix of players who also like how this weapon plays and I do not want to take away one of the more unique playstyles that we have and replace it with something that is fairly common.Thanks,

pls dont remove evade from chain! GS the only useful weapon in zerg fights ATM and we need a blast finisher on GS, not a whirlwind. If u remove that we lose third of our survivability in big fights (and we are a mid armor class not a warrior with 3,5k+ armor).
The funny thing with rangers we need to trait 30 point on a trait if we want one of our utility to work. 30 points on marks for signets, 30 points of skirmish for traps, 30 points on nature for spirits and 30 point nature+10 point on beast line for shouts. I think this is the rangers 2nd greatest problem (after the pets). Pls make signets to affect us without trait and shouts to buff allis if traited
after patch ranger will be as big damage dealer as a pre patch guardian but with less less armor and party buff. and now more less dodge. the furry from trait is good. but we have a 20 sec furry from rao and an another from horns.
well rangers r.i.p. for another few months. this changes wont make the rangers good in wvw.
enlargement is good, furry on gs attack is not bad with ranger. but its still not worth it to play in wvw with a ranger.

Nature Magic IX – Two Handed Training. Added the following functionality to this trait. Greatsword and Spear attacks have a chance to grant Fury on hit. 50% chance. 3s Fury. 10s cooldown.
Still the only real buff for ranger in this patch. and as a WvW player i still wont play again with my lvl 270+ ranger with kudzu :/

i think the greatest problem is our play style. we buy nothing in gem shop. they made the league so a lot of us spent gems. i think they will make something what we can buy in the gem store…
