I wish I could have a real size pet without being a ranger… a dog, a cat, a wolf, a bear cub… anything that is not a mini
[…]Exactly like a mini, just not… mini.
The cat minis (orange tabby and Chauncey) are the exact same size of the cats seen elsewhere in the game. There’s also a raccoon that’s a realistic size. They don’t even have the word mini in their title. Just pretend you store them in your bag.
I already spent 75 laurels on the wolfy… but its too small. Its the size of my Norn’s foot (Chauncey its the exact same size, too small http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/d/d7/ChaunceyandGoedulf.jpg).
The other 2 are behind EOTN rewards so they are out for GW2 players.
I’m sure its not that hard for ANET to put real sized (small) animals as idle companions
All transformations are terribad. All are a weaken version of your char. You will never be as good as your char while transformed and if you are, you are playing wrong.
hahahah good job moderator! Last time I check cultural armor wasn’t in trading post :P
Save all you can and buy it.
Forget about ascended… they look hideous while Norn cultural are pretty much the best looking armor in game
It’s a rare but very cool animation… when entering water instead of just switching animations you get an in-between animation of your character diving in.
Also remember at launch when everyone complained that dungeons were too hard and Anet needed to nerf them now (It was funny I heard this scenario repeated itself in the china release)? O how times have changed.
You mean that everything is so easy now that 5 guys in full dps build can just stack on a boss and kill him only using from 1 to 0 and dodge? get out of here…
Please stay true to the GW2 manifesto.
Lol…How you would make fabric that mimics glowing eyes? And I’d like to emphasis a keyword “glowing” here.
BTW By glowing I don’t mean that it should have exact glow effect, like from Photoshop for example. But it was easier to explain concept for mask that can change depending on state of your character. This new mask doesn’t have only glowing effect but has animation too. It could be done better, I know that. Especially that green version is only copy+paste of previous, red one with hue changed.
Why do you want a circus on your face so bad? I mean, it’s not even special… if it was some kind of extremely hard reward so only a few ones would have glowing eyes representing power or something… i could get that… but every monkey has a light-bulb inserted in one place or another in GW2 already… if you want to look special, have some taste a create a good mix of armors.
yes, because this game needs more glowing on characters to look even cheaper!
Who said anything about glowing?
The OP:
“…You could even make the scars / tatoos GLOW now, since we’re all about the glowey animations and such in GW2. And, of course, make them dyable…”
lol paper pvpeers dying of a LB ranger
Sword is the most dps ranger weapon,… and the most broken weapon in GW2. It is terrible to use. A real pain in the cat if you are not geographically close to the server.
Axe has terrible dps… its probably only useful for tagging mobs in zerg events but you can’t take it seriously in any dungeon.
there are plenty of free to play games and all of them are covered in glowing effects… when will players understand that glowing fx is the easy go solution for lazy artists? it is always easier to cover things up with some glow rather than work on textures to represent different fabrics… stop asking for cheap things in what it is supposed to be a quality game!
yes, because this game needs more glowing on characters to look even cheaper!
Like it was said, its just a glitch with the Karka Queen you are not supposed to see… its like watching the card up the magician sleeve.
I kept a screenshot of my warrior stomping that Karka into the lava, pressing F to jump on its body while it was dying; it was a fun event. I would share it but I’m not at home now
I want to hear my character’s voice already. But it will not happen
The one we all share?
having at least 3 voice options would’ve been great… oh man, here comes a new 1K gems feature, voice package (hey at least give me a cut Anet).
My control works better than yours because I use them at the right moment. And the uptime is higher than yours, because mobs are dead faster, thus they spent more time cc’d than yours. But this may change when I finish crafting my power/prec/ stun duration set…
I think you should play more games instead of defending this one as the everlasting truth. It is not that well designed you know? It has flaws like this one you mention,… there is no stats for the roles proposed but there are stats for tanks and healers? how does that sound to you? does healing fit a place for a stat? really? do you heal much? do you see others healing much? or tanking?
oooh yes, its all for pvp… i love this reply, it shows deep knowledge on game design and rpg mechanics.
Too bad that skills go to waste for PvE, since 99% of mobs are “Zerker feed” (Dominated by berserker DPS builds so badly, that Support and Control builds are incapable of doing any kind of results and some combat mechanics are not required, like dodging).
Lupicus, on other hand is in the 1% of PvE content where some degree of skill is required.
Weird, because the berserker dps builds you talk about ARE control and support builds. And funny you mention Lupicus which is a fight that requires no control or support.
you my friend know very little of what build means in MMOs as a general… GW2 doesn’t have builds for roles. They have zerk build with different set ups. You are NOT a support role because you have 2 cleanse or a stability skill and you are not a control build because you equip a knockdown. That’s not how it works. Show me your control works better than mine, applying CCs here and there and that you can keep up said role during an entire fight… kicking the first boss in COF1 against the wall its NOT a control role.
What Statset is it that you use to so dramatically increase the potency of your CC?
Bolded the important part… this is GW2. There are no roles, thus, there no stats for roles.
Maybe in LS3 or 4 they decide roles are important in role playing games and re-design this game to include roles (disclaimer for forum newbies: I’m not talking about the holy trinity, there are plenty of games to play those roles).
PS. there are no stats for support either, no stat increase the potency of your boons to play support… just the duration of your own boons which is kinda of selfish and anti-support.
To answer your tittle question, they are in the gem store. I’m still doing macumbas to whoever designed the heavy ascended armor for hating my character
(no, I wont transmute a whole set of armor that its entirely for showing off… though it would’ve been better if the armor wasn’t so ugly on a Norn… its a fatty on speedo).

Oh you can. Get the Ogre Pet whistle. It will give u a pet that fights along side you.
I don’t want it to fight and I don’t want it to be 5 minutes. I’m saying having a pet that works like a pet (companion) not a combat trained animal. Exactly like a mini, just not… mini.

For people that run fractals a lot, we have over 2 bank panes full of ascended rings. If a way to salvage these rings doesn’t come soon we will run out of bank space. Should we just sell them to the merchant? Because if a patch change that doesn’t allow us to do this soon, I’ll be forced to get rid of them before the next year.
Do you want more bloodstone? because that’s how you get more bloodstone…
Content is there, (world bosses, wvw, guild events… ) what is missing is the actual raid interface so commanders can have a clue with what they are working with. It’s a simple QoL that should’ve been here since 2 years ago.
In my opinion, a skilled player is one who can react and adapt well to change.
It’s one thing to understand fight mechanics and memorize dungeon routes, but it’s far more demonstrative of mastery to me when a player can outmaneuver challenges without a practiced strategy in place.
exactly my point… I wish GW2 dungeons had that kind of game play instead of playing simon
You can’t really tell since GW2 has the same encounters every single time… nothing is random so there is no improvisation. You can’t tell the difference between someone who is really good at playing and someone who just learned that particular encounter.
Well thats not true at all in PvP, and hardly true in PvE. If you add up all the experienced dungeon speed clear players who main a Guardian, all of them know the encounters. Yet some are still clearly better than the others despite equal experience in the instances. If your theory was right, everyone who has run an instance 100 times would be equally good to someone who has also run it 100 times. If your theory was correct someone who ran it 200 times would be far superior to someone who has only run it 100 times, yet actual experience says otherwise, therefore you must be wrong somewhere in your analysis.
I missed my disclaimer: “PVE Wise”.
There are other factors involved, of course… some people learn faster than others, some are more skilled with their fingers, or younger, or care more to learn so they put more effort… but at the very end, pve wise, its all a matter of repetition and focus. Very few players can improvise properly and it is reflected in events such as Nightmare Tower or those giant flowers in Kessex or even during the Lions Arch invasion. When silvers start spawning where you don’t know they will, cats starts to happen to even the fastest speed clearer (not everyone of course).-

My Necro and Mesmer are 80, leveling my Elem (60 atm)… stupid game now tells us which char to use… This change was so wrong….
In 10 years we will be playing mario bros and calling it mmorpg but at least every single person on earth would know how to play it before reading anything else.
Legendaries are broken, don’t waste your time on it… they were supposed to be the all end of adventurers in Tyria but they are actually for wallet players or hardcore farmers… there is a legend that says that a few of them got a lucky drop and craft their own.
Btw, i made an excel where i tried (as best as i could) to gather all top 3, until my previous post.
If you find it useful i’ll keep updating it.

Drakth,
Thank you so much for doing this it is a huge help. I am going to put our proposal together based on the top ten for the team at Anet and then we will start the next phase of discussion which is Guild Halls!
Chris
Guild Halls Ó.ò!!!
I don’t personally care for them but it was long requested by others…, if you guys introduce this out of nowhere just because I would actually be surprised and will indeed participate more in upcoming CDI. To be completely honest, I’m hoping you guys can revert the impression we got with the trait change after asking for skill hunting.
Pve is scripted, if you’re looking for challenge in pve you’re looking in the wrong place.
A good script never gets repetitive. Some good games have scripted fights with enough randomization to be always different and challenging, unpredictable. GW2 is the same as playing Simon and that is why it gets easier and easier the longest you play it.
The mechanics are there; they only need to know what to do with it.
still waiting for aura and foot steps on The Flameseeker Prophecies.
I invited a friend over during this trial period and been helping him with items consistently. I can tell for fact that you can send emails with attachments to a trial account.
They never found the balance between efforts placed in gemstore and efforts placed in-game. I understand its their business but if you don’t take care for the bees you will harvest no honey.
It will rot in my wardrobe for all eternity
Same here,… among with the Sunless wings.
Can I have your Sunless wings?
(I know, I know… accountbound).
There are only two character allowed to use such wings,… and that is an Asura with matching skin color either Necro in rags or Warrior in full Arah armor… those are the only 2 characters allowed in my book to run the Sunless wings and let me tell you its a huge cliche. (yeah, i’ll give them to you if I can… my good taste won’t stop others having fun (?) )
It will rot in my wardrobe for all eternity
Same here,… among with the Sunless wings.
well, all 3 are the best for farming now,… if you are looking for profit per hour, light classes is the way to go (silk over metal and leather of course)
are you talking about those under-worked fairy neon glowing blue tiny wings? holy cats why would anyone equip something as awful as that it beyond me…
I read this and thought, “Ultima Online”…
My, that was so long ago, but it’s still out there! I’m sure someone still plays it..
UO pre EA was (and still is if we could roll back to that) the best and most complete MMO ever released… ironically it was also the first one. There was not a single MMO that ever came close to UO in the amount of things one could do ingame. That was the real second life in a medieval fantasy world (years before second life was even planned lol)
I remember once I was starving (you needed to eat there)(I was PK) so I killed someone in the forest, got some kindles from a tree (any tree not just a “gather-me” tree), light up a campfire (where I pleased, not where the game said you could do it), chopped the boddy, cooked the guy’s leg and eat it… all that while his ghost was next to me saying “OOoo ooo OOoo ooOO” because I didn’t have the skill to understand what dead players had to say (spirit speak). Amazing game is amazing.

lol , uninstall and all the ‘’ graphical junk ’’ will go away ..
This game is all about aesthetics and ‘’ look at me ’’ , if you really don’t like it you’re playing the wrong game. I know someone who think that legendary are inflated toys and hate them .. but the same person change his look often and always have the last Black lion weapon skin .. so …
Please refer to: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Maybe-GW2-is-not-the-game-for-you/page/3#post4444567
It wasn’t like this on release… not that many flashy armors, only “in flamez” was COF and at least it followed a concept. Legendaries were supposed to be legendaries so again, special FX on just that was not that bad… today its worst than playing WOW
I am concerned about the Radiant and Hellfire skins because I don’t think that the Achievements rewards are well balanced. After checking the Achievement Point (AP) Reward table on the wiki (see attachment), I made a few changes to make it possible for players to acquire one full set until 18k AP and another full set until 36k AP (see attachment).
The way the system works right now is very questionable because you will acquire 2x Helmets, 2x Gloves, 2x Boots before you can acquire any Top or Bottom piece and it would be more productive to work towards one full set before getting additional parts of the other set.
Since many already made their choice for their second pair of gloves, shoes and helmet I would recommend either resetting those rewards or even letting those select players keep those skins as a “bonus”. If you let those players who already have the 2nd gloves/shoes/helmet keep those skins they would have an advantage but it would still be better for the new players to have this change implemented because the way it is right now, they would never have the chance of getting one full set or even both sets complete. What are your thoughts?Links:

You think they even thought about it? Don’t use that kind of logic,… you will never end finding logic flaws in GW2.
I’ve been asking for an option to remove all ugly FX from the armor and weapons of the players around me but hey, who cares about aesthetic, right? (here comes another sparkling, in flames, tentacle monster, holding something ridiculous made of floating cats and lightnings… ).
GW2 is not what you might consider loyal to itself… it is and it isn’t your game depending on when you log in. It was for me at release, it is not for me now (they moved way to far from the manifesto). It may be for someone who hated the original idea after a few more “feature patches” and who knows… I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up removing WP and putting mounts or any other weird change as long as they can sell another gem. They did become that kind of company.
(edited by Mesket.5728)
A lot of people thought this was Guild Wars… that is their mistake. This a complete different kind of game… Guild Wars ended in GW1. This is a new franchise with a VERY similar name but that’s about it.
I really hope those are fake…
this game will be GTA-like by 2016
This game is too confusing… it wants me to think a character name… Anet plis… y u do dis
…as according to Anet they had over 10,000 testers …
as according to ANet they never developed a tutorial because it was too time demanding and hard to fit in… but according to another source of ANet they did a tutorial and was proved a bad move.
For this and all other things (manifesto included), I no longer trust ANet in anything they say. Specially in something so ridiculous as having 10K testers when with only 5 players at least half of their mistakes would’ve been avoided.
No more robot chess?
meh… wasted content…. not saying it was amazingly fun but I don’t understand this kind of moves… just don’t remove it! place it somewhere else, with no benefit or purpose,… maybe someone had fun just playing with the robots? I mean,… its an extra filling the world and make it more complete; Y U REMOVE IT!?
