Why are ascalonians considered "bad guys"

Let’s just hope the “the rightful king of Ascalon” isn’t an Ascalonian Mad King Thorn ripoff(actually I am hoping it is).

Thorn could have created them.

Maybe they were emmisarys of the Mad King and whatever stopped the Mad King from showing up on Halloween sent them back to the Mad Realm where they belonged(though it seems they absorbed either Balthazar energies or Destroyer corruption in the process).

The Halloween Gargoyles look like either Magma Griffons and Magma Coldfire Nights which are Nightmares.

Anyone else see the similarities?

Menzies, and the Parentage of the Human Gods

Abaddon had enough power to beat 2 Gods.

Zhaitan claims to have killed Lyssa who is infact 2 Gods(what happened to her power is unknown yet it’s obvious that something absorbed it and that Zhaitan wasen’t the one who absorbed her power since there wasn’t any mass destruction in the general area) whether it’s true or not is unknown.

I think there are 2 Dragon God Lichs with at least 1 in the Ring of Fire Isles since it’s in Risen territory.

Lyssa was easy prey for Zhaitan (Lyssa event)

Or one of his Champions(perhaps a lieutenant like The Shatterer) has Lyssa’s power(in which case we have a huge threat on the Ring of Fire Isles which is ruled by Risen and the God Champion ruling over them) .

The Nightmare Court actually aren’t evil for the sake of being evil. It’s poorly represented in-game though, like an increasingly large amount of Anet’s background lore. The Nightmare Court were formed by Cadyrn who, besides being spoiled and an attention-kitten, he believed that sylvari should work to form their own rules and destinies, not blindly follow the teachings of a pacifist centaur who never knew sylvari could exist.

This concept got perverted somewhere along the road (in the lore, not in the writing of the game) and Cadyrn went from spoiled “I’ll do what I want!” Secondborn to “we will engulf the world in darkness!”

And why the Nightmare Court went from an actual noble cause to being pure evil is up to question, though I suspect that the Nightmare itself has to deal with it, and that it is tied to Mordremoth.

You can thank Faolain for Cadyrn’s fall to evil.

If Zhaitan’s turns out to be the only Elder Dragon Sylvari are immune to(the only quest I read says they are immune to Undeath it does not mention Icebrood creation or Branded corruption) then Mordremoth most likely corrupted Faolain just so that she could take over the Nightmare Court from Cadyrn.

Dhuum is likely the reason Mad King Thorn was absent for 250 years due to not wanting the dead souls to leave the Underworld.

The question now is: Why did Dhuum give Mad King Thorn permission to leave the Underworld permenantly(It would have been permenant if the Durmand Priory hadn’t reined him in limiting the Mad King to the terms of his ancient curse)?

In GW1 Wurms are legless creatures similar to Worms which are legless Drake hatchlings(Drakes are Dragons).

As far as GW1 is concerned Wurms are Serpents and Krait are Snakes.

Fantasy worlds have their own vocabulary in lore that have different meaning from the real world therefore in GW’s dictionary Snakes(or Krait) are Serpent-like and Serpents(or Wurms) are Worm(Drake Hatchling)-like.

What are Serpents though… Are they Wurms?

Greater Serpent in Urgoz’s Warren in GW1 says yes!

So Serpents are Wurms and Snakes are Krait…… Interesting………..

During the Canthan New Year in GW1 The Celestial Snake summoned Snakes.

They were all Krait!

Nowhere in the official sources(wiki page on Krait is fan made so it’s not official) are the Krait refered to as Snake like(unlike The Forgotten and the Naga).

Krait are likely the Sea Snakes the official sources say Naga are related to.

I wonder where the Ash Legion homelands are?

The Scepter of Orr and Staff of the Mists are never said to come from the Six Gods – the only thing on their origin known is that they were gifted to the human kingdoms (never said by whom), and when said human kings became corrupt the gods struck them down and buried the staves with the kings.

What if Glint made the 2 Scepters? After all Glint made a prophecy concerning one and the other was found in the Desolation which is the southern half of the Crystal Desert where Glint lives.

Well not the Gods’ actual power per se, the are a perversion of the Gods’ spheres of influence:

Zhaitan twisting Death or Dead into Undeath or Undead.

Jormag perverting Warm Winds into Cold Icey Winds(As I said Grenth got his Ice powers before usurping Dhuum and since he got his power from somewhere he must of got his powers from his mother(cold air perhaps)).

Kralkatorrik pervert Chaos magic into turning people into chaotic Crystal monstrosities.

Primordus perverts Fire and Lava into Destroyers.

The Deepsea Dragon(whatever his name is) perverts Water into Tentacled Sea Creatures.

The Final Dragon(possibly named Mordramoth) most likely perverts Earth or Nature in some way.

Grenth was the Prince of Ice and Sorrow before he became a God by usurping Dhuum.

Considering Grenth got his power of Ice from somewhere it’s probably from his mother Dwayna the Goddess of Air making her match up with in opposites and nature with Jormag the Dragon of Ice(a perversion of Air if ever there was one).

Zhaitan the Dragon of Undeath’s power is a perversion(as in turns it against it’s nature) of Dhuum the God of Death’s.

Primordus the Dragon of Fire and Destruction’s power is a perversion of Balthazar the God of Fire and War’s.

Kralkatorrik the Dragon of Crystal and Perfection is a perversion of Lyssa the Goddess of Illusion(by making illusion into reality) and Beauty’s.

The Deep sea dragon’s power is a perversion of Abbadon the God of Water’s.

The last dragon(possibly named Mordramoth)‘s power is probably a perversion of Melandru the Goddes of Earth and Nature’s.

I think Mordremoth isn’t controlling The Nightmare Court, only the nightmares which said court tries to spread(and bring to the physical world) in order to free the Pale Tree of human and centaur corruption(not knowing that they’re infecting the Pale Tree with Elder Dragon corruption due to thinking that the Nightmare is tied to reality not the Elder Dragon Mordremoth).

Why are dragons evil?

They have similar aspects even though they aren’t related: Zhaitan, Grenth(after becoming a god) and Dhuum represent Death, Jormag, Grenth(before becoming a God when he was prince of Ice) and Dwayna represent Ice, Cold and Wind, Kralkatorrik and Kormir represent Perfection, Primordus, Balthazar’s Father and Balthazar himself represent fire, Deepsea Dragon, Abbadon and Lyssa represent Water and finally judging from the inquest dungeon the 6th Elder Dragon, Pale Tree(practically the God of the Sylvari) and Melandru represent Earth and Nature.

Mickey Frogeater.1470

Zhaitan wants to rid the world of the taint of death which might make him the nicest of the Elder Dragons(Dragonic counterpart of Dhuum who wants eternal death), Kralkatorrik wants to become perfect and crystalize the world into perfection(Dragonic counterpart of Lyssa), Jormag wants nothing more than world domination(Dragonic counterpart of Grenth through his position as prince(later God) of ice and cold and his mother Dwayna(Goddess of Air which includes frost and cold), Primordus wants destruction if the his minions name is to be believed(Dragonic counterpart of Balthazar and his father(which Balthazar apparently killed)), Deep Sea Dragon’s motive is unknown(Dragonic counterpart of Abbadon, Lyssa and Kormir) and the 6th Dragon’s motive is also unknown(Dragonic counterpart of Melandru).
Each of the Elder Dragons’ motives clash which leads them to fight each other.

Could Menzies be the Mad King Thorn after all Menzies is called Menzies the Mad and like Menzies he seems to support Nightfall(the website said Mad King Thorn wanted to celebrate Nightfall by visiting Elona) and his disappearance from Tyria could come from him taking a direct role in his war against Balthazar and his return is because of him winning against Balthazar and avenging his father just like Grenth avenged his father against Dhuum(Grenth letting Menzies out of his cell if he’s Mad King Thorn despite allying with Abbadon would come from emphasizing with Menzies’s goal and as a reward for aiding in the war against Abbadon’s other ally Dhuum).
