Tequatl as the new ED for undead gribblies?

in Lore

Mickey Frogeater.1470

Tequatl and other Dragon Champions will most likely try to take their precious master’s place and eventually consume enough magic to become Elder Dragons themselves. That’s my theory.

Tequatl has obtained new skills with some being Water based(at least one) implying it’s Death nature is crossing with a Water nature.

A Watery Undeath Elder Dragon would be a thing to behold….

Most of the Risen were Vizier Khilbron’s Undead corrupted by Zhaitan.

Is this what your refering to? Are you implying that Zhaitan just stole the Undead Lich’s abilities and combined it with his Death nature?

Indeed their is no need to tie the Jade Sea and Echovald’s petrification to Elder Dragons.

On the contrary we should have the Jade Wind(Dwayna’s Magic twisted by human rage) affecting the Elder Dragons not the other way round.

They can change magic they devour yet are they incapable of having their natures altered?

It would be interesting if they are capable of being altered while sleeping.

Also the notion of Abbadon having the Char use the energies of that “mountain range” in the Blood Legion Homelands holds some weight…. He knows about Glint at least(she’s obviously the one who gave the Crystal Sea it’s name) so he should be able to tell if the Char “mountain range” is magic of the same type as her.

It is worth thinking about and it would be epic if an Elder Dragon aquired the essence of the Jade Sea and for another Elder Dragon to obtain the essence of Echovald Forest and for both to invade the continent of Tyria from the south.

A race similar to Afflicted resulting from a Disease Elder Dragon would be very similar to Zhaitan though whether that makes it viable or not viable depends on ArenaNet(by the way how many Undead Elder Dragons do any of you think could possibly exist on the planet Tyria?).

Where does it say/show that the dragons don’t care about the actions of their minions? Also I thought that minions were given the will of their masters, so if they show hostility to different minions, it would make sense that it comes from the dragons hostility to each other.

Oh, no. You don’t argue with Konig about lore. Konig is this forum’s loremaster.

We know that the Jade Sea is turning back into water and that the Echovald Forest has new growth coming in yet not how…… Could Elder Dragons be sucking up the magic?

Can anyone imagine a Elder Sea Dragon corrupted into an Elder Jade Sea Dragon?…. Or perhaps even an Elder Forest Dragon into an Elder Stone Forest Dragon?

Kanaxai can dominate the minds it has corrupted just like an Elder Dragon.

Many things can do what Elder Dragons can….

Glint can create Crystal Elementals(subclass of Branded) bound to her will, the Great Dwarf can create Stone Dwarves(this guy isn’t related to Elder Dragons) bound to a single goal and Foefire can corrupt Ascalon’s Ghosts to Adelbern’s hatred(was Adelbern’s sword forged from Zhaitan’s blood or not?)….

Dare I mention how Shiro could also corrupt beings into Afflicted? And how Urgoz once corrupted by Shiro could corrupt the creatures into dark forest beings(by the way is there any likelyhood of Urgoz being an Elder Dragon Champion)?

All powerful beings corrupt like Elder Dragons and their Champions….

As to those who wish to learn the likely fate of each of Scarlet’s factions…

1. Molten Alliance: The Charr that joined the Molten Alliance are stated by ArenaNet to banned from rejoining Flame Legion Society(they’d be killed on sight) unless they get results which they didn’t.

The Moletariate had the whole Dredge Society join the Molten Alliance and since they already are the entire Dredge Society(aside from Rebels) they can’t rejoin Dregde Society(you can’t rejoin something you never left).

The Moletariate is the only Government the Molten Alliance has now that Scarlet is dead so the Charr will have to serve them to survive.

2. Aetherblades: Mai Trin is still alive and may be part of Mordremoth’s schemes. She likely is now in control of the Aetherblades, Steam Creatures and Twisted Watchworks.

3. Toxic Alliance: The Toxic Courtiers are a splinter faction of the Nightmare Court.

The Krait enslave other races(slaves are the second most valuable reasource to the Krait with Obelisk Shards as the first).

It appears that the Krait just got themselves a brand new set of slaves as compensation for Scarlet dying and since they likely know how to create more Toxic Courtiers they will gather more Sylvari slaves to add to their Toxic Alliance(a fitting name for the Krait’s new empire).

Do each of these fates seem likely?

Why is the Toxic Alliance still around??

The Toxic Alliance is also easy to explain:

The Toxic Courtiers are a splinter faction of the Nightmare Court.

The Krait enslave other races(slaves are the second most valuable reasource to the Krait with Obelisk Shards as the first).

The Krait just got themselves a new set of slaves and since they likely know how to create more Toxic Courtiers they will gather more Sylvari slaves to add to their Toxic Alliance(a fitting name for the Krait’s new empire).

Mickey Frogeater.1470

The Molten Alliance Charr can’t return to the Flame Legion due to their failures and thus will have to intergrate with Dredge nation and have to serve the Moletariate which almost all Dredge are ruled by.

The Aetherblades have some scheme going on….

The Krait likely are going to enslave the Toxic Courtiers obviously considering they thrive on enslavement.

Why is the Toxic Alliance still around??

Mickey Frogeater.1470

Scarlet was still offering Obelisk Shards. Now that she’s dead the Toxic Courtiers are nothing more than slaves to find new shards. They do have slaves remember? So why waste such a valuable resource?

Having Sylvari slaves that hunt Obelisk Shards and aid the Krait in killing their enemies is what Krait would typically do anyways…

Mickey Frogeater.1470

Why is everyone down on Evon? Seriously, he warned everyone what would happen, he was right, and now he is getting his wares stolen by the Liongaurd because they wouldn’t listen. I still believe Evon is the Mysterious “E”.

He is suspicious because of not what he’s done but because of what ArenaNet has said!

According to Game Designer Antony Ordon: “*I doubt Evon’s interest in the past isn’t entirely…religious.*”

See the double negative there?

The Game Designer is outright hinting that Evon is seeking the Abaddon Fractal for religious reasons!

That hint leaves 2 equally possible choices:

1: He seeks to either become a God or bring back a God and is thus a Big Bad.

2: He’s the Master of Whispers and thus the Big Good.

We must wait and see what ArenaNet chooses.

What will Evon do?

in Lore

Posted by: Mickey Frogeater.1470

Mickey Frogeater.1470

So what’s to stop Evon from taking Abbadon or a Titan’s body for himself?

Surely he would want the power of the God of Secrets. With that power he could bring Nightfall to Tyria again though in a more permanant manner!

Mountains of Blood(Depths of Madness overtaking the Shiverpeaks), Kingdoms of Flesh(Domain of Pain overtaking Kryta or Ascalon), plains filled with plinths of Secrets(Domain of Secrets overtaking Kryta or Ascalon) and swamps filled with the dead remains of insect gods(Domain of Fear overtaking Maguuma Jungle)…. All of these would be worthy changes to Tyria’s form!

What will Evon do?

in Lore

Posted by: Mickey Frogeater.1470

Mickey Frogeater.1470

Which is why Evon would research into that field.

We don’t have enough knowledge on Fractals to know if it’s truly impossible to summon anything from them.

If something can be touched and manipulated directly by outside forces like the players than logically(whether ArenaNet is going to follow logic in this instance or not) there must be a way to bring them here.

It would most likely require a tedious and lengthy ritual that only Abbadon and his followers know.

Of course if ArenaNet does not care about logic and will utterly and illogically forbid the leaving of any Fractal beings then that’s end of the matter.

What will Evon do?

in Lore

Mickey Frogeater.1470

I also think he’ll use the threats coming at us to have an excuse to summon “allies” from Fractals.

According to Game Designer Antony Ordon: “*I doubt Evon’s interest in the past isn’t entirely…religious.*”

In other words it is religious! This may imply that he seeks to summon a Fractal version of Abbadon to Tyria.

The end game will hopefully be just like Scarlet though probably more epic since Evon will likely go all Commander Varesh on us(in other words he’ll turn into a Margonite) before we kill him.

She was trying to awaken Mordremoth.

The whole point of the drill was to just drill into the Ley Line which it did and since Mordremoth awoke that was clearly the plan.

If she wanted to stop him from awakening she would have put a stop switch on the drill which as the player points out she didn’t and that her plan was indeed to awaken the Elder Dragon heard in the distance.

Dragon’s feed on mana and are awakened by it’s presence and disrupting the Ley Lines unleashed alot of mana allowing Mordremoth to awaken for breakfast.

The Nightmare Courtiers look withered and possibly dead. Faolain most certainly did.

If I recall Faolain was corrupted by the Nightmare in Orr and later hijacked the Nightmare Court which originally just rejected Ventari’s teachings until Scarlet took over.

Orr is the home of the late Zhaitan. I hear that the Firstborn were not born into the Dream yet later entered into it after the secondborn were born into the Dream yet was that event before or after Faolain subcumbed to Nightmare? Faolain could be a Risen who was added to the Dream and later corrupted it….

Nightmare Hounds and Nightmare Husks are indeed Mordremoth’s minions as are all Jungle Wurms which I must point out are tamable so they might have just been tamed by Faolain’s Nightmare Court.

We should also note the changes on Scarlet’s face when she died.

It is even more evidence of corruption. Infact they may be signs that Sylvari aren’t Dragon Minions. Even the Nightmare Court dosen’t have them… I think…

Actually the Nightmare Court looks dead more than anything so if they were corrupted by an Elder Dragon that Elder Dragon is likely the late Zhaitan considering how Faolain(who used the Nightmare to hijack the Nightmare Court) was in Orr when corrupted by the Nightmare.

Of course since the Dream is assumed by us to protect against Dragon Corruption it’s likely Zhaitan is only capable of corrupting through the Nightmare…. Or it has something to do with Faolain being a Firstborn and thus not actually being born into the Dream itself…. Of course if a Firstborn is corrupted what’s to stop her from finding a way to spread the corruption into Sylvari born into the Dream.

@Konig: That dialogue is indeed interesting, what if we have it the other way around. She wanted to disrupt the flow of magic, and that caught the attention of the dragon which caused him to start influencing her. What if her plans were to actually disrupt the flow in order to keep the magic from flowing to Mordy. Imo, this would fit nicely with the idea that it was Mordy’s plan and not Scarlet’s. Basically, Mordy used Scarlet tricking her into thinking she’d be denying him his awakening but in reality she was helping him.

Then again, I probably just want a twist to the story since I feel its really bland.

Her words state that “Tyria will bow to it’s new master!”

That’s a blatant statement of service to Modremoth if ever I saw one.

She of course has shown signs of wanting the public to give her and not her master the credit for her method of awakening her master(her ego is as big as her humongous drill it seems).

They all seam to rely on the minions to bring food to there mouths. they are prity much lazy kittens. Nothing really to motivate them to move other then large magical sources which scarlet just untapped so LA is going to be kittened hard.

Kralkatorrik was almost killed by Destiny’s Edge so obviously it’s not going to dare show it’s face around the rest of Tyria.

Jormag is already invading yet is still physically not on the map of the continent of Tyria.

Zhaitan is Dead.

Modremoth is still on the map(Magus Falls to be specific) and is likely to be the more immediate threat compared to Jormag.

Primordus is wandering the Depths of Tyria and we have no idea where he is though his minions have been seen in Maguuma Jungle, Kryta and western Shiverpeaks yet not in the Eastern Shiverpeaks or Ascalon which implies he is somewhere between Maguuma Jungle and Western Shiverpeaks.
