It sounds to me that you’ve been hacked – so first of all I recommend changing the password to both your game log on, and also your email address password too (And make sure they are both different passwords too as compromised accounts are usually due to compromised emails).

Then, submit a ticket by clicking support above the website. They might be able to do a roll-back, but you will need to prove ownership of the account when they ask.

I’m sorry to hear of your loss, but hopefully ArenaNet will sort it out for you.

Visual Diversity

Ahh ok, that makes sense.

I agree some choices are pretty limited (medium is the worst), it’s like A-net decided all medium users wanted trench or long coats, and so they made a ton of them; then realized you couldn’t see the pants most of the time so they just made generic pants and called it done xD

tl;dr-
I want everyone to be unique snowflakes, not just me

^^; what makes visual diversity so cool is keeping an open minded outlook on appearance and aesthetics. Try to take a more positive and open outlook on appearances you see more often, instead of saying “oh hes one of those guys” think “oh, he must like that out look”. Asking for visual diversity and then condescending people for using the graphics they like most doesn’t seem right to me. Remember you dress and dye your character how you like; he probably did the same. If he likes it, that’s what matters.

Actually as far as the female human light armor goes, there is a really good diversity of looks and styles. They range from super skimpy T3 cultural to ascalon heavy robe look, with a large range of options in between. The male selection is a little (ok ALOT) more limited but there are still some good options. I think some of the heavy armor is the same way, gladiators vs cultural vs draconic. I will agree medium armor is extremely trench coat heavy. Some similarities are good and make sense, for instance heavy armor shouldn’t really have alot of super light cloth style looks, while light shouldn’t have alot of heavy platemail parts.

The dye thing… I’m one of the people that uses 2 – 3 colors tones on my armor set, but I always thought using 1, 2, or 3 was color coordinating. Nothing wrong with that, it tends too look a bit better in my opinion. Once again same type of thing, if the player using it is happy with it, then that’s great.

Out of curiosity have people been rude or made negative comments about your choice of armor/colors? Your post seems a bit judgemental on the appearance of others based on your view on beauty and aesthetics.

Tl;dr

More options would be great, but we have quite a few good ones as is (minus medium). If people aren’t judging/hating on your look return the favor.

Edit: Non money skin since lumi… well there has been… nope… umm… hrm… nope nothing

Male human, using only 3 dyes (does this make me one of those guys?)

First of all why do you asume i am bad ? i have full asc zerk set on 4 characters with all the potions /sigils for dungeons i am very experienced with speed clearing dungeons.

Why do you assume that because others have low AP or play a different way then you they are bad? They play a game designed to be played inclusively for all players in dungeons the way they enjoy, that doesn’t make them bad. I simply stated that dungeons are not hard in GW2, they do not require 100% optimized builds, gear, or play. Try to keep in mind, not going along with the zerker/stack/speed meta does not make a player bad, it means they play the game differently then you. Try to stay away harsh judgements and condescending terms like “bad” when describing other players, your idea will be more likely to be received or at least looked at on a less biased scale.

Second i did get your stupid metaphor, you suggesting i did not understand it is insulting.

Ahh once again, sorry my mistake; I meant no insult. I was simply clarifying due to your response. In the future, when you close your statement with “as for people being angry at an lfg tool concept , hey i coudnt care less i dont like slow runs and bad players come at me.” It makes it seem as though you honestly thought people were angry about it, not simply disagreeing with your idea.

Third what i was trying to say is i would like an option for people with only certain gear to join my party, i honestly dont care if that is exclusive, i would rather it be exclusive then some kittenes who dont even have the right gear join an me and my friend have to carry them, how is that fair to us ? And before you suggest go with friends only we cant be all online all the time so we need to take a pug or 2 from time to time i only wish those pugs were capable.

You have the option right now, as I said, put what you want in your lfg, if someone joins that doesn’t fit your “standards” then vote kick them. Once again your line about the “right gear” is wrong, there is no right gear in GW2. It’s fair to you, because you don’t have to do it. You can play with exclusive groups if you so desire, however that play style is against the design theme of GW2, so a tool that promotes that play style is undesirable.

so what if they have pitchforks and torches they should get gear and exp before joining dungeon parties. its not my job to teach new players how to run dungeons and i have interest in doing so, as for people being angry at an lfg tool concept , hey i coudnt care less i dont like slow runs and bad players come at me.

Ok I get you saying get gear to an extent, however GW2 is an inclusive game, and if you need gear to clear a dungeon… I’d look to improve your own abilities be for blaming others.

I ment the pitch forks and torches in a comical sense, I figured the hyperbole/sarcasm would be obvious I guess it wasn’t. So my apologies for the poor word choice. What I mean is this type of suggestion has a very heavy skew towards exclusive game play which is the opposite of what GW2 is going for. Many players simply do not want to encourage that type of play, so ideas like this tend to be unpopular.

If you have no interest in being friendly or teaching players dungeon paths simply put “80 exp only” and any other stipulations you have for the party you want in your listing. However assuming or insinuiting other players are “bad” because they enjoy a different play style then you is the EXACT attitude that causes people to react so poorly to exclusive play ideas.

I... have returned.

True ap has little meaning to me but i want to see you try and do coe for example with 1-2k ap people see how well that works out . As for the game allowing bad dungeon players to join any party no i dont like that at all.

I’ve done CoE speed runs with people with less then 1k Ap, worked just fine. Heck I actually had a 438 and 1034 in my group last night, one was a first timer, and had no problems. The term “bad dungeon players” Is a matter of opinion, and based of AP means its an opinion based off an assumption, that’s usually a recipe for trouble. Dungeons hardly take an optimized group to clear, if you want to speed run with experience players put that in your LFG, if someone joins but didn’t bother to read, just vote kick them.

What you are asking for is a LFG tool that is based on extremely exclusive concepts, most of the GW2 community has torches and pitchforks at the ready for things like that. GW2 is an INCLUSIVE game design and many (myself included) like it that way.

you’ll see the forums dont have as near many complaints as you see in gw2’s, so forums are a good reflection of how the game goes.

Forums are a reflection on how vocal a minority of players are about things they dislike.

If you look at it as a whole many of the complaint posts here are actually duplicates or suggestions to “improve” that have been suggested many times be for. The forums are not post on by the majority of players, as such they are not a good reflection of the majority of players feelings about the game.

It’s far from as bad as the forums make it sound. Most people come here to post “constructive” criticism or feedback on changes/things they would like changed or improved.

The problem is very few players who enjoy playing the game come here to post “great job keep it up”, “Love the game” etc. There are a few of those threads floating around out there, it’s just people are more likely to complain when they don’t like something vs praise something on a public form when they do like it.

This has been brought up numerous times ( https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/LFG-tool-Add-class-filter/first ) , and has always been meet with pretty heavy resistance. GW2, encourages inclusive play: Including everyone, not exclusive play: excluding players based on gear/class choices. So a “filter” would be a step in the wrong direction. If that’s how you want to play, put it in your lfg message if you insist on doing “gear checks” that’s your choice, but it shouldn’t be forced on others in an inclusive game play environment.

Why would you want a filter based on AP? AP is a number that has very little to do with dungeon experience.

There are also numerous problems and easy methods to bypass such a filter. Joining as character A and switching to character B etc.

I use coward here since the said trolls who are in bad form are not whispering to be polite to the rest of the match but don’t feel strongly enough to own up to their actions when made public and therefore whisper instead of using /map. Now I agree that has a positive side to not air it to the rest of the match but don’t mistake cowardice from courtesy please. I am also not denying that some people might use it in legit ways to disagree with one another, but I feel this is in the minority and still rarely end productively.

As I said it would seem a simple toggle change in options could go a long way and save ANet game admin time when reviewing people being reported. Then if people choose to leave the toggle off they are in the same situation as now. Sadly you have to expect trolls, but you don’t have to arm them with tools.

Odds are the troll doesn’t really care if he has to “own up” to his actions, when/if made public. I simply feel the term “coward” is not ideal, it’s making a brash assumption, and/or accusation about the intent of another person; based solely on your personal assumption. Whispering something to someone, no matter what the message doesn’t guarantee that the whisper is trying to “hide” his message from the public. When you have a disagreement or if you insult someone in real life do you get a mega phone or PA system and broadcast it or do you say it to just them? ( I will admit I’m guilty of doing both, don’t suggest the PA thing though it can land you in hot water)

There are also a few reasons other reasons that whispering is better then map, things like landing on the same map doesn’t always happen, other times your queue pops and you leave, etc.

The idea of a toggle system seems like it blocks more positive interaction posability. Currently there is already a system in place to deal with negative, insulting, or unwelcome whispers: Block them. Players are already armed with tools to deal with unwelcome messaging.

This is an issue in game. The problem is that whispers in two of the game modes make no sense and the third it does.

In PvE whispers can be reasonable and make sense. People talking back and fourth and potentially sharing information.

100% agree whispers in pve are very useful, and usually trollish-ness is not as prevalent.

In PvP whispers from the other team make no sense, they are either using it as a distraction tool, in bad form, or are too much of a coward to voice it in map chat.

I don’t really see how a whisper in PVP is more distracting or in bad form then /map. Just because someone choose to use /whisper doesn’t mean they are a coward. They are taking their conversation or comments directly to the person, that’s not really showing cowardice. The whole coward thing can be turned around about map chat… Exe: They use /map chat so they can try to hide behind the masses and insight a call out war; rather then just keeping a PRIVATE discrepancy private. If you have a complaint about something someone is doing take it up with them, why do you feel the need to /map and try to get others to join in when the discussion isn’t going your way?

— Trash talk/distracting/etc are poor sportsman ship no matter what delivery method, If someone is offensive the best thing to do is just block them, if they are extremely rude, report as well.

Locking the door on my private home and removing the ability to have private conversations with others in a MMO are extremely different.

As you used some life examples… You’re right I don’t leave my door unlocked. But someone entering my home and stealing things is no where near the equivelent of someone sending a whisper. I agree with preventative laws and socially accepted norms when dealing with criminal activity or the safety of a person. However this isn’t about anything like this, it’s about the ability to send a private message in a game.

Why would we want to impede the ability to privately ask someone a question? Why would we want to remove the ability for them to respond privately. I’m afraid the “risk” of trolling is outweighed by the positive gains of private conversation.

So because a few bad players may lie, that means all chat should be conducted in public channels? I’m sorry but I simply don’t agree. Whispering is a good method of communication that shouldn’t be removed, and it’s uses have far more positive reaching ends then negative. I guarantee not everyone out there who uses whisper/pms to chat is looking to lie or trick someone; in-fact most people aren’t.

You even state that whispers can be used properly: “then talk in whispers to whoever responds”.

You have a seriously negative outlook on the player base, which from my experience isn’t as bad as you are painting it out to be. Also try to keep a level head and open mind when judging others responses in /map, having the wrong information but trying to help =/= to lying to troll.

If you have something to say, you should say it out loud so the whole class can hear it.

We aren’t in a class. It’s an online game… Very different setting. The point of whispers, tells, or private messages is so you can communicate with others privately (or over long distances exe: different maps.). Not every conversation is for everyone, and not everyone wants to read EVERY conversation.

And do you honestly think it would be better to call people out in map chat EVERY time you disagree with them, or have a question about something, or just want to talk with someone that was on your team? Why wouldn’t you just /whisper and talk vs bringing the whole map into it?

  • Cowards.
  • People in your list of friends who are not in the same guild.

Remember, kids: It’s rude to whisper in company.

Having an option to prevent whispers from anyone but the 3rd category would basically get rid of the other two.

I love how some of you are talking like I am a evil super villain who threatens to destroy your items with the awesome power of logic and forum posts ^^

I don’t think anyone thinks this, how ever your “logic” is being formed from your assumption on why people are getting ascended, and how much the stat differences matters. I wouldn’t really call your assumptions awesome logical powers

As I said before an insignificant stat difference is still insignificant no matter how many people go after it. The value of 5% benefit from the entire set, doesn’t become some how more majestic because people seem to want it, or are willing to put in a little effort to get it. Some of us just like having the best in slot available just to have it, kind of like an end of the line gear goal.

As I said if it was a 1% difference I’d get it, just to get it.

Do I think that my characters in exotic are going to some how be vastly or even noticeable inferior?: Nope, I don’t, and they aren’t. Am I still going to continue collecting ascended armor just because: Yes I am.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Miku.6297

Nolop, just because people take the time to craft them, doesn’t mean the stats are of a significant value. I like to have the best possible, even if it were a 1% bonus I’d still get it just to have it done. It’s worth little more then the ability to say “yea I have it”. You don’t require it for 99% of the content in game, the stat increase of 5% is insignificant, the amount of people that are willing to get it doesn’t change the significance of the stats.

The “massive grind” is a matter of opinion. For an over all 5% bonus that is hardly noticeable, and not required. The only place you might need a bit of ascended is in fractals for AR.

Honestly once you hit 80 and full exotic, what else are you going to do other then work on ascended armor, skins, or a legendary?

Block and reporting 12 messages in 2 and a half hours really isn’t that taxing, and in my opinion shows A-net has made some progress in dealing with them.

I usually afk on and off most of the day, and I know I haven’t really had much of a problem, sure I get a message from time to time, but I just block/report then move on.

Hi everyone!

I’m a long time TC resident just returning from my GW2 winter break! It’s been quite a while since I have been actively playing, but I’m starting to get back into the game. I’ve been looking around a bit recently and it looks like there are so many new things to do, sights to see, events to try, instruments to play, of course dyes to collect! So I’m looking for a family/friendly type of guild to enjoy all of the aspects of GW2 with.
I’m mainly a PVE player, I love running dungeons, fractals, and world events. I haven’t had a chance to explore every dungeon path yet but I’d love to get around to that some day. The ones I have been through, I’ve done; well let’s just say a few times, and leave it at that xD. As far as fractals go, I’m at scale 35 with 50 AR. I’ve been through most of them and love running any level with parties. As far as play style goes, I’m more of a play at your own pace or your own way type of player. I’d rather take time, hang out and have fun in dungeons/PVE, though I can min/max when necessary.

I do play some Pvp and have been getting into the S-pvp a bit lately, and I enjoy wvw every so often. So I’ve been hanging out in the hotm every so often, and I’d love to join up with others and pvp or wvw some time; It just looks like it’s so much more fun with friends.

Umm that’s pretty much all I can think to write here! Message me here or in game any time.

[Suggestion] Reason for kicking.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Miku.6297

Miku.6297

I don’t agree with this suggestion.

It’s everyone’s choice to decide who they want to play with, and that’s why you have kick option. Also if 2 other persons agree with you, it legitimizes it. If they don’t, then you can always leave of course.

I already think it sort of annoying when you create a party that you do not really have control over it anymore as it was before, but I understand some people were abusing it to scam players so I agreed with that move to some extend and even to have 50% of the party agree on kicks, but I’ll never agree with punishing player for deciding who they want to make a party with.

Usually, people don’t get kick for no reason.

It’s everyone’s choice who they decide to play with, that’s true… But joining someones party then kicking them out? How do you explain that? They made the choice to join that persons party, then kick him or her?

Just because someone else agrees with you, does not mean it’s legit. See this thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/New-Party-Kicking-Mechanic-is-Unfair/first

The people complaining about being kicked that want a system like this are not being kicked for valid reasons, they are being kicked by players who are abusing the current group system.

Is I said befor, the amount of completed runs with out issue probably exceeds the amount of kick/abused runs. However if you search the forums it’s clearly obvious people are being kicked for no valid reason.

[Suggestion] Reason for kicking.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Miku.6297

Miku.6297

100% support, just add the same rules as the current report system, fraudulent reports are against the rules and can be punished. That would help avoid some false kick abuse reports. (I don’t think many people who get kicked are happy about it, so there would need to be a deterrent from just auto reporting when kicked)

The current system of wiping your chat so you couldn’t even have a chance at reporting for abuse is just silly. Really I see no reason for the chat to be cleared, though it is true some players abusing the current system are doing so with others on a voip program so they wouldn’t leave any chat in the log anyway. This suggestion would solve that issue so I’m 100% for it!

While I am all for this, it should be noted I think the kicked from party thing is actually alot less widespread then it looks on the forums. It’s true not everyone who gets kicked for no reason will come post; it’s also true that even fewer runs that are completed with no issues will be posted here.

A ratio of how many complete runs with pugs/lfg system vs how many kicks would be interesting to see.

While it’s true you can turn SP and karma into gold, the return ratio is nothing worth writing home about. 4 gold per trans charge would be a HUGE pay out for time invested.

Transmutation charges are not skill points or karma, they aren’t earned in the same way. Each item and currency has a few specific uses, dungeon tokens for buying dungeon armor, karma for karma items, and SP for skills/mystic forge items. Transmutation charges are for transmuting armors appearance. Maybe allowing a person to buy some minor cosmetics would be ok, but I really don’t see why they “need” another function.

Well, one thing would be the ability to convert these charges to gold.

After all, they are a gem store item and one charge is worth rougly 4 gold (125 gems = ~20 gold = 5 charges)

Or allow us to buy things with it like skillpoints.

in the end, you can convert gold to gems to buy these charges so i don’t see a problem why this could not be possible the other way arround.

Buying something like skill points sounds like a good idea, as long as it stays a cosmetic item.

Converting to gold I’m against, remember the gold to gems market isn’t a standard rate. So the rate you listed would change, while the gold value of these items wouldn’t. Converting to gems would be just as touchy, they are bought with gems, you can’t often turn around and return gem purchases, these really shouldn’t be any different.

Something useful is a matter of opinion. When you say you dont care what you get to do with them, ANYTHING would be super. You leave a pretty wide range of options with literally no constraints…

Many players enjoy changing their look. So to them changing their look is something useful. I’d love to have over 300 extra charges, I wouldn’t think twice about running different looks every so often. Instead I really have to take time and think about a change because I don’t want to waste the gems/charges.

Maybe you should say what YOU want them to be used for. That way it would be things more geared to what you feel would be good.

Erm in the forum rules it says “putting A-net in your post wont increase odds of a dev response…”.

The first part of your question doesn’t really require a dev answer, people see them in game playing. So that makes it pretty obvious they do play.

The later part like I sad I’m not really sure, I would hope if A-net does have specific class balance teams, they would play all classes, not just one. Getting an even field of view for balance vs a one sided view would be a much better idea

16. Let us get rid of the black jaggy edge trim around hte outskirts of the game screen. (I never noticed this till someone mentioned it, now I can’t stop noticing it xD)

17. More ear type head pieces.

A-nets staff definitely plays, you can usually spot them by the little Anet bridge symbol by their name (special guild icon). Though they don’t always run around with the tag on.

As for if they play a certain class. I’m not sure, the ones I have seen are a variety of different classes.

sigh You said

I don’t care what I get to do with them, just anything would be super."

So I took you at your word. Transmutation charges are just for vanity changes, I don’t think we will be seeing anything different for them any time soon. I was just offering suggestions on things you could do with them, or things you could do to waste them.
