You can get experience in a dungeon by either having a group of friends or guildies do it with you (if you play with friends or guildies that is) or you could get a few people from the forums to mentor you and show you through them if you ask nicely enough as there is a guild specificly made for mentoring new players to the dungeons.

I would offer to help you myself but I only came back recently and am relearning everything about the game that has changed, from playing my classes correctly to the encounters in general.

So I wish you the best of luck in your dungeoning experiences in the future

See that red circle? do not stand in it, do something called dodge it (weird, I know)
See all those mobs between us and the boss? run pass them, they drop no good loot. What’s that? you don’t think skipping was meant to be apart of the game? complain about it on the forums as we LOVE seeing it posted here and it rarely gets posted.
Stack. What’s that? you don’t think stacking was intended to be apart of the game? please complain about it on the forums. We LOVE hearing about it, as it never pops up that much here.

Or did I find a bunch of lucky groups in a row when doing arah today? They actually read the description of the LFG, they were wearing full berserker gear and weapons, actually knew how to melee properly and didn’t complain if one little thing went wrong.

Well guys it has been close to 7 months since I have been on guild wars 2 seriously, but I am back. I am going to be doing what I used to do and solo arah (or try to anyway since I might be a wee bit rusty) it would be nice if someone could tell me if anything important has changed in game like meta builds, boss fights and the such. Thanks =)

P.S. The classes I intend on trying to run this content will be my mesmer and guardian, so the best builds for them would be appreciated

Should I bother going back to dungeons? or is it still the same easy kitten that it always has been, that is buggy and easy to glitch/cheat your way through if you do not have the skill to run it in a group or solo it yourself, with people kicking pugs from groups at ends of runs, white knights kicking arah sellers for no good reason and casuals still insisting that PVT is the way to go, and that anyone in zerk gear are scummy l337ists? Thanks in advance. (and sorry for all those people that can not handle these words i speak of that are true, or were true 4 months ago when i last logged on to the game)

Yeah, I have been trying to solo alpkitten my mesmer for the past hour or so today, I can usually get him using a technique sanderinoa uses in his video. but today whenever i cast warden, use ether signet cast warden again and put temporal curtain under him his bomb still effects me with both wardens spinning. would anyone know why? and yes i have traited for warden’s feedback

Exploding presents exploding for no reason, pretty much speaks for itself
Falling through the presents in front of the box you’re supposed to jump into, if that’s intentional, at least mention it somewhere

OK I don’t see any of the things you listed as bugs. The snowflakes disappearing is because once they are first stepped on they have a time limit before they disappear, or “melt”. The exploding presents are designed that way, there is a pattern you have to figure out. Big hint here is do NOT step on any of the blue presents at the start, jump over them to the red ones so that way they do not disappear as fast. Also do not go for the deliver present options, go respawn here option because it is safer and you only get 3 big gifts if you deliver the present instead of one.

This puzzle is fairly doable, just stop being a kitten about “bugs” that work as how they are intended to work and complaining because you can’t get it. The old saying practice makes perfect comes to mind here.

PS it took me about an hour of complete failing before I noticed the patterns in the boxes

First I would try contacting support.

Second, you can transmute the look of the armor onto a Blue/White armor piece stats, then use a Transmutation Splitter to remove the armor piece while on another character. Make sure to use a level 60+ armor piece so that you can keep the Rune. This works because Blue/White items are account bound when they’re transmuted onto (I just did this as of 2 weeks ago with my Legendary, and it worked). Just make sure you keep the LOOK of the ascended armor and put it on the STATS of the blue/white or this will not work.

Pretty much what this guy said, I can confirm it works as well because I have done it with my legendary, little bit expensive tho considering gem prices, but you are getting ascended gear so price doesn’t matter!

hi, uhh that probably wouldn’t work because once you transmute it with the celestial backpiece the mystic forge thinks it is the celestial backpiece in any future recipes. So what I would do is just make the beta capacitor and transmute it with the celestial book, keeping the stats of the book and the appearance of the fully upgraded fractal capacitor since both are ascended items that are infused and would have the same amount of stats in either item.

my first ever fractal skin finally dropped for me today when I was using my main, my guardian. It was a kitten speargun. <3 da RNG. Actually looking forward to the fractal weapon boxes dropping so you can pick your own skin at higher level fractals.

To answer your question, yes that was a bearbow in the pary. Not the best run but meh, it was a pug group. I just expect people to know how the fight actually works if you are doing a level 10 or higher fractal. :\

guys (and gals), sorry for the confusion, I said it in party chat that he was a kitten before I left, not after.

Need a bit of background here. Joined a p3 Arah “experienced” only group. Got to the crusher, only myself and another warrior were meleeing him while the rest were camping ranged. The guardian that had aggro kept kiting him around the place, playing it “safe” while the mesmer and other warrior swapped to melee around the end of the fight after me constantly telling them to swap to melee. The guard refused to swap to melee , constantly died and ended up causing the party to wipe. So I left the party (was instance owner), called the guardian a kitten for not meleeing a simple fight and he messaged me this. (note I said this in party chat before I left, not after, sorry for confusion)

We both decided to run arah p2 yesterday and chose to use the ingame lfg and posted “experienced” only. The first 2 we got were people who had run it before and actually knew how to read! But with hopes high the last member was an elementalist that ran staff the entire time, was his first ever dungeon and was in Trading Post exotics and had less than 1k AP. So we decided to go against all logic and actually let him stay in the run because we felt like being generous. The run took 2 hours, the ele died constantly, on the run to the first boss, on the run to the second boss by aggroing the spider after the detonation and on lupi was dead the entire time, even asking to be revived halfway through phase 2 when he was fully dead. But it felt oddly pleasing knowing that we helped that poor soul completing his first ever dungeon.
