High pop PvE EU server ?

well with this http://www.gw2lfg.com/ you can group up with people from different EU servers and do dungeons together. (you only have to be from the same region to enter the dungeon together, you don’t have to be in the same server)
That being said I’m on Underworld and it has a fair amount of people, but I’m also convinced that we’re not the busiest server of all of them. Probably any high population server will have a nice amount of people still leveling alts and doing content in the low level zones

Also why do other dungeons when CoF p1 gives a large amount of gold for speed running?

That’s the wrong mentality.
Do you play the game for fun, or to make it your job, just to buy the best stuff to show off?
I run CoE and Arah mostly. With the right team (one that’s prepared to be thought the boss mechanics, or one that knows it), it can be fun.

Other than that I do agree that dungeon loot is broken and needs fixing.

While it’s not the right mentality, it’s pretty much for clearing up the gold grind for a legendary. Everyone will look at it as the path of least resistance. If it doesn’t look right Anet should definitely change it. Be it nerf cof p1 or buff all the loot to make everything viable.

while I do agree with you that it’s the best dungeon to earn money in, my point was that grinding for most would feel not fun, therefore they should go to a dungeon that would be fun for them instead of trying to get a legendary. If you played a hundred hours just to get a legendary and didn’t enjoy the journey you might have been better off getting it in 700 hours, but having fun while getting there.

They don’t forget about them, quite simply you cannot get groups for them.

getting group even for the most unpopular dungeons is not a problem.

I see this in MMO after MMO. “I worked so hard for this thing, it should never become easier to get later.” Like having it for a few months before everyone can get it isn’t a reward by itself, or other people getting “your” special thing makes you less worthwhile as a person.

Gold’s not even needed to enjoy this game. It can be accumulated in large amounts, things can be sold for lots of it when others have accumulated enough to spend, but really one can do just fine without it. So if one source of profit is lessened, and you really feel the need to see those numbers go up at the bottom of your bag panel, then find another means to make it.

It has nothing to do with that. Its the fact that it makes a recipe in game pointless, IE no reason to use it. What is the purpose of making a game mechanic useless?

because you could use the recipe if you don’t want to gamble with RNG while doing boss event, after boss event, after boss event for days?

What do you mean gamble with RNG? Just buy it off the AH for 90g from some other player who won the RNG lottery. The cost to make with the mystic forge is as follows

1 Eldritch Scroll (50 Skillpoints)
1 Gift of Ice
~250 Orichalcum Ingot (16-17g)
~100 Glacial Lodeston (45-50g)
~100 Corrupted Lodestone (140-150g)
~1 Gift of the Sanctuary (500 HotW Relics)
100 Mystic Coin (5g)
250 Ancient Longbow Stave (25g)

So if you use the Mystic forge recipe to make this it will cost between 231-247g not to mention 8 runs of HoTW for tokens and the 50 skillpoints for the scroll. So tell me, who in their right mind would use the recipe instead of just selling some of their mats and buying it straight from the AH?

people that want to feel like they’ve achieved something?
Not all legendary crafters get profit you know. Some make legendaries and sell them below what they would have cost to make. It gives a sense of achievement to do something yourself.

The fact of the matter is that there is no point to EVER use the lodes and materials to craft this weapon in the mystic forge. Having it drop has made this weapon 1/3 of its former price to make. So this is either a bug that ANET refuses to acknowledge or it’s intended and they just decided that player should no longer buy the lodes and craft this weapon.

I think that the one aspect of this that’s broken is the lode drops. Lodes are supposed to drop easily in dungeons, however dungeon loot is broken. The first thing to get fixed was boss event loot tables. If they fixed dungeon drops too, the weapon would be far cheaper to make, because there would me more lode drops and therefore they would sell for less.

5 level 80s, 3 lower levels. I like to create all of my characters and then I play with the one that I feel like playing with. First two level 80s I was leveling at the same time – my necro and my elementalist reached level 80 together essentially. Later I rotated around some of the lower levels a bit. Now I’m focusing on low level engineer.
It all depends on your play style. I can level several characters at once and not feel like grinding.

I was under the impression that Winterbite had always dropped from Jormag chest; similar to how Final Rest had always came from the shadow behemoth chest.

Wintersbite didn’t start dropping from Jormag until they introduced guaranteed rares from Meta-Events. Whether or not it was originally suppose to drop is unknown (similar to Final Rest being broken), but now that we’re many months into the game, they shouldn’t just add Wintersbite to Jormag’s loot table.

So final rest shouldn’t drop either?
Let people keep their loot.

I don’t know what your all worried about, those who love zerker will be mad soon, and those who hate it will rejoice,

I personally don’t use it, but I have no issues with those who do, its almost like SF from GW1, we all seen it, some hated it some loved it, but ultimately, its going to get hit with the Anet Nerf Bat, and they will nerf it that bad that no one will use it.

How are they going to do that? They would have to change the entire game to nerf zerker gear to the point where it would be more beneficial to use other gear.

all they would have to do is change one stat and the damage it deals would be nerfed to MF gear level. Meaning that most gear types would deal similar damage. Plus they’re changing how condition damage works, so condition gear sets should start being worth something.
I don’t think that berserker gear will be nerfed to oblivion, but a future small nerf I imagine might be a possibility.

I really didn’t want to get involved in this, kinda pointless. But…..

1. SAB was made by 15 or so people, not three. http://tinyurl.com/cb8ox8g
2. I have no clue where all these people work at, searched a couple on google, nothing turned up for a cursory examination. Unless you can somehow prove none of them work on anything else, your argument is sorta flawed.

as far as I remember
1. Sab had 3 main people working on it, but the full team was 8. They have graduated into a living world team and allowed continued development. Before that they were an experimental team (like many) that create experimental content that may or may not get into the game

1. You get a right to express an opinion, it doesn’t mean that just because you own their product they’re entitled to follow your opinion and please you and you alone. It’s their lore, their world and their story. They have every right to tell it how they want. The only way you can force them to follow your opinion is to buy the major part of the company shares. That’s all.

And GL with high lvl Fractals or Arah EXP in beserker Gear lol.

When everything one shots you you’re best defense is playing smart, not toughness and vitality stats.

unless you’re a warrior dodge is not infinite and sometimes you can’t remove aggro, so vitality and toughness are good friends in a high level dungeon. Plus toughness actually enables you to hold aggro and make it easier on everyone else. Really I have seen very few very good berserker warriors in CoE or Arah. Most of them run in, smack things, go down.

Why is Arenanet wasting resources on this? -> https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/presenting-the-rytlocks-critter-rampage-game/

The time could be used to FIX bugs or ADD new stuff to the game. Even the Super Adventure Box is a WASTE of resources and time when you all could use the time to MAKE CONTENT RELEVANT to the storyline on Tyria. Make a new dragon appear or some new dynamic events that actually did PERMANENT change to the world of Tyria or something!

Yes, the Molten Alliance storyline is cool and all, but if you all could just stop wasting time on making a Mario Brothers wannabe in 3D, you all could have make the Molten Alliance storyline even better.

There’s always an ungrateful pup in the mixed. Just because you think it a waste, Anet didn’t and neither did the players who enjoyed it.

I am not ungrateful. I only asked why they wasted resources and time on it. If I am ungrateful, I would have phrased my post differently and most swearing or kittens..etc.

And I did not say dislike it SAB or the flash game. In fact, I love it (SAB), had a great time running around with other pugs but that is another matter altogether.

Then it wasn’t really a waste then was it. Your “fun” was the reward. So if time invested =fun, I’m missing the point of this entire thread. Unless your saying they wasted time on making something you enjoyed. Which, well, makes this all very confusing.

Because it is not relevant to the context of the storyline. Had they posted something like the Mad King or Winsterdays which are actually LORES in the world of Tyria, then it would had not been a problem, but it make no sense for SAB.

Yes, I have fun with SAB, but that is another matter for me.

they created both games, yes? They introduced both Wintersday and Mad King in Guild Wars 1, yes? Before that what was Wintersday and Mad King? It didn’t exist. They created lore. Because it’s their world, they are free to create lore again. That’s what they did.

Don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.. Who are you to tell Anet what their priorities are? I am really tired of reading lame post such as these stating that you all know best concerning GW2.. Honestly.. they don’t need to listen and change the game on every tom, kitten and harry’s whim.. The game would be so messed up it wouldn’t even be fit to play anymore because of the lame crap you people ask for. Keep in mind they don’t make these games to evolve around you and you alone. This post is no different than the other thousands of post of this nature that populate this forum.. pfft

My $60 spent gives me the priority to tell them anything I kitten well please. And, yes, developers make games to make people happy. The only way to let them know if we are happy or not is to tell them.

Sorry you don’t like it that someone doesn’t like the game as much as you do. Pity.

there has been some wise words that I’ve heard:
give masses what you want to show and not what masses want, because if you give what masses want, masses will continue to ask for exactly the same things because they won’t know any better.
We all payed money for a product. We got that product. We don’t get to order the developers of the product. It would be the same as buying shoes and thinking that you made an impact great enough to be able to instruct shoe makers on how soles should be made, because YOU want them that way.

Work on what I want? Like they making Staff Ele more playable? I wished. But they will never do it unless I own Arenanet. No. It has nothing to do with what I WANT.

I was talking about the RELEVANCE of the content and also why they choose to waste resources and time putting up content like SAB and also the mini flash game that is not in the game?

The world is fair. Right. If the world is fair, Eles would not be the worst class in GW2 and Thieves won’t be that overpowered. Or Engineers will not be as useless as it is now…etc.

And I am sure the devs get to be with their family, as we don’t pay a subscription so they probably work normal working hours and having normal weekends. So, no, I am not telling anyone what they should do or not do on their free time, I am only telling Arenanet to stop wasting resources and time on UNRELEVANT content.

Did you even read my post? Sab was made by 3 people that don’t work on departments that could have made anything you want and the flash game was not made during WORKING HOURS.
Now to your other points:
1. Ele is not broken. I mostly play my ele with summoning different weapons and boy do they hit hard.
2. Engi doesn’t feel weak. Not if you’re able to build your engi correctly. You know what’s weak? Try a necro.
3. I told you how Sab can be weaved into Tyria. You still decide that it’s irrelevant.
All I’m hearing from your posts is “Do what I want, weeee!”. Please stop. You’re not a kid anymore, you don’t get to whine like a little baby.

And you probably also want people to only be able to make money running Cof1.

Crafting should be a viable way to make money. Honestly crafting should be the backbone of the ingame economy and not random drops as it is now.

sorry, it’s the wrong game for it. Anet wanted crafting to be more of a hobby, than a way to make money and players get rewarded for doing more dangerous content, like, for example, boss events.
Other than that I think that CoF should be made harder. It’s the easiest dungeon in the game and it shouldn’t be as rewarding as it is.

SAB is fun. I get it. I like to play it too. But in the context of the storyline and the world that Tyria is in, it makes no sense at all to having SAB.

asura are building teleporters and golems and you think it’s unrealistic for them to build a virtual space where their apprentices could practice combat?

About the question on how do I know it is a waste of resources and time. The time it takes them to put SAB and do all the stuff for the flash game, even if it one devs doing it, you still waste resources on bandwidth, fixing SAB’s bugs and some other stuff. Maybe it doesn’t take them much resources or time, but it is still a waste when you can sure hell use that time to do RELEVANT contents like making Queen Jennah have an instance of having a molten alliance messenger conveying a message of surrender or die. FOR EXAMPLE.

1. SAB was made by a group of about 3 people that were responsible for holiday events. Their department doesn’t work on dungeons, it doesn’t work on bug fixing, their department doesn’t work on any of it
2. The flash game was made by a developer at his FREE TIME. I know that you want all people to be slaves for you and work on what YOU want while sacrificing time they could’ve spent with their family, but sorry, the world is fair and you don’t get to tell people what they should and shouldn’t do on their own free time.

something I can comment about
1. I do think that you should be able to win skins for pve. If you buy a pve skin it asks whether you want to use it in Spvp or pve. I don’t know why Spvp skins are different. After all in WvW you can buy distinct armor, why couldn’t you win skins in spvp?
2. I personally like the goofiness. Aiming for a legendary bow that shoots unicorns ^^
3. You might want to try a different server for WvW. Underworld in eternal battlegrounds seems to take it very seriously sometimes. There’s always some sort of conversations going on.
4. I like that there’s no trinity. Though you can still tank if you have a character that heals passively and has a lot of toughness. Because that’s how aggro is chosen in this game. A mob will attack someone that is either getting downed people up (healing), getting up, healing themselves, or has a lot of toughness. So if you go warrior with high toughness it will be very hard to get rid of the enemy. Also if you build a necro in a well build you could be an excellent healer (the same goes for a shout warrior, some ele and guardian builds)
5. Condition cap is being worked on. They’re doing something with conditions, so it will probably be changed.
6. This MMO is not about grinding. Don’t grind. That’s what DR is there for.

Lol this is the grindiest mmo I have ever played. DR is there to increase gem sales and extend the playtime of this extremely shallow game.

So why did the have DR in Guild Wars 1 then?

We are talking about GW2 not GW1 or at least I am. I could care less about GW1 except for it seems most people who played it are disappointed in this game.

You have no idea what percentage of Guild Wars 1 players are enjoying Guild Wars 2. That’s simply made up. You should stop that.

And it matters for this reason. You say that the only reason DR exists in the game is gem sales. But Guild Wars 1 didn’t have gem sales, but still had DR.

So it’s a flaw in your logic. At the very least, if you were being straightforward, you’d have to admit there might be other reasons for DR to exist.

Actually I don’t have to defend any of my opinions to you. I want the game to get better and you want to make personal critiques and defend the game in any thread that shows any criticism.

Argue with clay because I have zero interest in discussing anything with you.

if you present an argument with flawed logic and then refuse to defend it, it’s the same as presenting no argument at all
“DR is here because of gem store”
“DR was present in Guild Wars 1 too”
“I don’t care about the game, I won’t defend my argument, bye”
that’s what children do, not adults.

  2. Asian server is worked by and will be run by NCSoft itself
  3. There will be Chinese, Japanese, and Korean interface in the Asian client, as well as Korean voice-over
  4. Simplified Chinese will be in Chinese server only
  5. Players who uses client by Anet/NCSoft will be able to decide to join the Asian server besides NA and EU while playing the game for the first time

And there are rumors(not from the same person) that Chinese server will be free to play, pay to win.

I said people use it as an excuse to excuse the fact that they lost. The implication is that they lost and would have lost anyway.

Which means that you think Ascended Gear wouldn’t have made a difference in them winning, which means it is useless.

If something isn’t going to help you win – and if winning is the only reason to use it – then it becomes useless.

in that case exotics are useless as well, because a skilled player in greens can beat a person in exotics. It’s not useless, because it DOES boost your stats, but this game isn’t all about stats meaning that no matter how much stats you pile on yourself you can still lose.

If anyone asked for Fractals, Laurels, and Ascended, then what they got is like asking for Lego for Christmas and getting Mega Blocks.

Are you saying Fractals wasn’t/isn’t popular?

Do I have empirical evidence that it isn’t? No. What I bring is logical conjecture.

your logic completely ignores those groups of people outside fractals every day.

Unlike map boss events, dungeon chests are not fixed yet. I feel your pain. I run dungeons a lot and most of the time I leave with just a couple of blues. However dungeons are fun for me so I decided that loot doesn’t matter. Still though, I wish I could get a yellow or so in dungeons once in a while

1) What’s your point? Green and rares beat the game, sure. Are you going to run around in blues and rares to do Dungeons and WvW? Does it have anything to do with casual players? How about this. Doing Dynamic Events in GW2’s world gives you a new currency that allows you to buy Ascended items. This is your casual gamer’s mindset. Not bloody repetitive fractals * 30 for rings. You cannot be serious.

3) Read wiki link and 1) again; this game isn’t casual. When the legendary weapons came out, everyone was going, ahhh the exotic weapons are the same stats, you don’t need the legendary weapons anyway. THIS was Anet’s winning point for the casuals. Then they threw that out of the window when they introduced Ascended trinklets. Then they claimed that one day if ascended weapons stats ever changed, legendary weapons WILL reflect that as well. I stopped playing for 3 months after that.

Where does that leave the casual players?

Sometimes I just wonder if people are blindly defending Anet. I look at my useless profession which only goes up to exotic crafting, and sometimes I wonder if Anet is ever going to fix this. Probably never.

you seem unable to understand that the harder something is to get, the less people get it. I have a character with some ascended trinkets, sure, however she doesn’t perform that much better than my guardian in exotics, or my warrior in exotics mixed in with some green jewelry. I changed some of my character’s builds a couple of times and normally I couldn’t just re-buy the full gear instantly, so some of my characters would have green amulets and trinkets, some of them would run around with wrongly stated weapons. And you know what? I’m still able to beat arah.
If you got into your head that you NEED ascendeds, your problem. I personally don’t see the point.

I’m not sure if you REALLLLLLLY think ascended is that worthless to get, but here’s the stats.

Rare stats points: 42 42 59 13 13 21 = 190
Exotic stats points: 48 48 67 15 15 25 = 218
Ascended: 50 50 71 18 18 32 + (potential 4 stats) =243

Ascended doesn’t just offer a cosmetic change in stats, it gives you the SAME amount of stat increase over exotic if not more. I think I need to face palm every time some one tells me the ascended are optional. If you really think think the change is that small, think again. Oh my god. When will people learn.

I am not replying just to counter you, as I have no desire to “prove you wrong” and I dislike debates, but more so that uninformed readers may not take your opinion as facts

It’s the PUPPY TRUTH. It seems YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH! (says it in a Jack nicholson’s voice). Now, we come back to the point of getting the cultural thingy. GOLD is a problem. Let’s say I have 200 gold from my 100 hours of playing from 100 days, and now I want to spend it. That’s what you do in a MMORPG, spend it on e-dresses and weapons, otherwise what are you playing this game for?

And then I realize that to get an ascended backpiece, you need to spend either 20-30 hours in fractal dungeons, or spend 100 g to get it. I dunno. Maybe you think it’s okay to accept a loss of minute stats gain from the backpiece, sure, but I disagree with that.

And that’s when you realize you can only do it for 1 single character. Okay, maybe that’s the same for other MMOs. But that’s when you realize the grind level of Anet is actually the same with any other MMORPG. If they didn’t add in the commendations and laurels (which finally made it casual), ascended was nothing more than a grind affair.

1. This game is not about stats. You can beat content in yellows and greens. Getting pink is optional.
2. I have characters in cultural. Didn’t grind for it. I took my time with it. It’s a skin. You don’t need it.
3. run a fractal a day. You’ll have 2 rings that you want in 20 days. Plenty of other rings will drop as well. You can use those to gear up your alts. Every 20 days you’ll be able to buy an amulet. If you’re a sane person you probably will come to the conclusion that the back piece and earrings are not worth the bother.

Why Do People Exploit?

I know that hacked accounts are used to run bots and exploits, but I simply don’t understand why some (regular) players risk their own account by doing exploits?

Anet can easily track your moves and hits really hard with no mercy (perma bann), which I strongly support. We all remember the snow-flake bann avalanche.

But why risk a perma bann for an account that you have invested hundreds of fun playing hours?

Ps. Don’t exploit! The Unmerciful Hammer of Bann hits hard!

Seriously its not rocket science, As the content gets harder player instantly look for ways to circumvent it..

Look at Dungeons, Dungeons are insanely hard for very little reason so people skip the content and exploit through them to get what they want easy and fast, basically because the content is much too hard for the standard players, they find alternative ways around it..
Look at CoF part 1 super easy and fast and the most popular dungeon run in the game..

Open world we are basically told we cannot farm yet every avenue we must do forces farming upon us… so players go around it with teleport bots and such, i don’t agree with what they are doing but i see why they do what they do, also i guess they either don’t care if they are caught or just don’t think they will be caught..

I can’t tell why others hate Fotm, but a major reason i hate the content is it forces me to do 4 dungeons in a row, if i want to leave mid dungeon i’m screwed big time, and the content is far from fun, so i’m stuck in there for 4 times the dungeon and cannot leave without everyone else leaving, each completed fractal should take you back to the lab and be saved till you decide you need to do some more.. but nope.. if there was some unofficial way around that i’d take it in a heart beat…

1. Dungeons require skill. They require you to master your class. However they’re far from insanely hard. If they would be made easier it would be boring
2. I have never ever needed to farm in this game
3. Fractal instances are short. It’s kind of the same as wanting to leave after beating 1/5th of a dungeon.

They’re replacing outfits to be less nude in order to censor the game for Chinese audience. Why would you want that?

Some of us don’t want our characters to look like hookers?

I’m not sayin’ bowdlerize, but more options showing less skin would sure be welcome.

Hades, more armor and costumes – period – would be nice. (so long as they’re not all chainmail bikinis)

I want my characters to look like hookers.

To be honest, I’m a girl and I wish more of my characters could show more skin. It makes me feel more attractive and therefore more powerful

We have a guy honestly saying that a Mesmer using portals to get other players from point A to point B is an exploit. Are you kidding me!?

CoF case – you’re skipping a whole event you’re not supposed to skip by portalling TROUGH A WALL.

I think you and I are thinking about different things. Or maybe people are doing it differently than my regular party. We don’t go through any walls, we just put down a portal on one side of the boulders, the mesmer blinks through the boulders and puts down the other side of the portal, then the rest of us step through.

Going through a wall would be an exploit, regardless, I would think.

why should you be able to blink trough boulders though? Shouldn’t that be considered an exploit?

I wouldn’t think so, no. It seems to me that it’s an obvious solution to the problem. It wouldn’t have occurred to me to be an exploit. How would something like that get through a beta? It’s so obvious. There’s nothing about this particular use of portal/blink that strikes me as incongruous. It’s not a “put your cursor on this particular pixel and it takes advantage of some glitch in the mesh of the wall and you can get through” kind of thing. At the right time, there is nothing but open air between you and where you want to blink to.

This is the kind of instance where, if A-Net were to disapprove, then they should change the terrain feature enough so that you can’t use this method. To go back to my analogy, if you don’t want me going 70 mph here then post it, because it doesn’t strike me as unreasonable.

they’re thinking of changing it and a conversation about this was going on in the dungeon sub-forums.

How did you read replace when I wrote “be available”.

I actually read the thing
“Mostly from character creation to show the amount of censoring that is going on.”
they’re replacing the models that are in game right now in order for the models to show less skin and in order to censor them.

Meanwhile, in GW2, no-one needs a 400. Because just about everyone is either already at 400, or will be in a couple hours of work. Crafted items are sold pretty much at material cost.
I would love for crafting to be a real part of this game, and not just an occasional easy-daily or extra XP boost for when you want to level a character. I highly doubt that we’ll ever see it go beyond that though. I don’t think Arenanet is capable of doing something like that, and even if they could, I don’t think the care enough to do so.

the problem is easy to fix though. When I thought about it… You know how jewelcrafters can have recipes drop in TA and Arah for rings that are bloody expensive? Why not to add special dungeon skins for weapons and armor that are not buyable with tokens, but rather you would have to finish all paths of that dungeon and buy the recipe with tokens, however that said recipe for a weapon piece or an armor piece would cost more tokens than an exotic armor piece and would also cost a certain amount of tokens to make? That way if the skin is awesome enough we have a system for making sellable awesome skins whose recipes are hard to get, therefore not every crafter would go trough the trouble of getting them, meaning that the crafter that does get it could sell it for a high price?

Let me paint you a picture:

You’re driving down the highway at 60 km/h (kilometers, I’m Canadian), and a cop pulls you over.
You: “Good afternoon, officer. Was I doing something wrong?”
Cop: “Yes. You were driving well above the speed limit.”
You: “Oh? I’m sure I was doing 60. The sign clearly says 60 is the speed limit.”
Cop: “That was clearly a printing error on the sign. The speed limit is 40km/h. You should have known this was an error and matched your speed to the limit you actually knew it was.”
You: “What!? How was I supposed to know? I didn’t make the speed limit sign. This is the government’s error, I’m not at fault for their mistakes!”
Cop: “You should have expected to be caught for this. Doesn’t this highway seem to you like a 40km/h highway? You knew it was wrong. And now your license is revoked, forever.”
You: “Wait, I don’t even get a speeding ticket? Anyone who doesn’t obey an imaginary speed limit just has their license revoked?!”
Cop: “Not everyone. We only nail the worst offenders. You’ve been over the limit for an hour now. You’re not fooling anyone. Now step out of the car, please.”

The picture in most cases would be:
I was driving at 600 km/h because that sign said so. The sign was supposed to say 60 km/h, but I didn’t even think about it.
I’m pretty sure that nobody will be banned for jumping puzzle skipping, but I’m also pretty sure that that thing will be addressed. I’m not so sure about nobody getting banned for CoF.
Most people that do get banned obviously know that it’s an exploit. Examples: dungeon chat logs of “guys, I know how to exploit this” and people finding an infinite node, thinking nothing of it, but then mining a whole inventory full and rushing to sell. Snowflake abuses were doing it on an incredible scale and rushing to sell. Because they knew that it will be solved and they need to push out thousands of ectos or thousands of stacks of ore BEFORE it gets fixed.

The mesmer using a portal to get past the boulders in CoF P1 or the past bandit horde in CM butler path is not an exploit, because what else is the portal for? Why have it in the game at all if you couldn’t use it like this? Is there another real use for a portal?

it is an obvious exploit though, because you’re skipping a full event that is as stated not optional. Anet was informed about it in another topic though and said that they will redesign CoF and is tracking that instance closely right now.
The portal is for kiting, helping teammates and covering short distances faster (fractal Cliffside two seal part for example)
