Umm, if you’re wanting to do the WvW JP’s without being killed, do them in a large group. If you want to go in alone and not be attacked by an enemy server, try a lower tier server. Tier 1 and 2 for sure camp in the puzzles to prevent the enemy from gaining blueprints/badges.

BG still holding strong for as late as it is.

Not sure what SoR is doing. Playing for second place perhaps? Dunno, the strategy does not make much sense to me. It seems SoR has a chance at first if they push BG down during their off hours.

Looks like SoR is content in trying to play for second and keep TC down. And this when BG has almost double the score of TC and SoR already have…

A hint for all the SoR folks.. Why exactly are you continually not hitting on BG when they are so far ahead? You’re making it easy on them by antagonizing your potential partners and letting BG bend us both over.

This isn’t what is happening. Unfortunately your perspective gets skewed when the only person responding to your actions in game is SoR. I guarantee you SoR spends as much time fighting BG as they do TC.

Point being, why? Take the effort you’re expending against TC and use it against BG and what happens? BG goes down. Sor, by fighting against TC when we’re both down almost 1/2 in points against BG, guarantee’s that BG will win again.

So yes, in essence, SoR is fighting for second place because the only way they stand a chance to close the gap on BG and actually win, is to not fight the only other group that is also fighting BG.

I guess if SoR is happy with always being the brides-maid and never the bride they can keep right on doing what they are now.

You guys just joined the tier, don’t get so bitter and upset. BG and SoR have been fighting each other for 7 weeks, they hate each other and all they do is fight each other.

It’s a 3 way war, there’s never going to be a time where one side is getting left alone or one side is only getting double teamed.

I think folks are just frustrated that BG seems to be getting such a massive lead on us so early and we’re seeing wave upon wave of SOR on TCBL.

We had heard tale that some key commanders on SOR have said to target TC because we’re perceived and an easier target for points .. I hope that’s not true, but it would seem a more effective use of SOR and TC’s time to target BG on EB and their borderlands. If anything to make the scores a bit tighter. That’s all.

If SoR was playing for 2nd, not 1st I’ve never head about it.
Also if SoR was playing for 2nd, and only targeting TC, why would we have wiped BG BL to be completely Blue on Friday and attacked it each day since?

SoR is in no way only targeting TC. In fact there’s more targeting of BG then TC from SoR because BG is the harder one to beat. Not to mention a lot of SoR doesn’t want to see BG in Tier 1 specifically because NineDragon left SoR and joined BG just to get into Tier 1. (So there’s a bit of heated blood between some Rallian’s and Beastgate’s.)

Was SoR Approached by an offer to work with some TC? yes.
Did SoR decline the offer? yes.

So please do not go around assuming SoR would drop down to playing for 2nd place instead of 1st <3

If you join a commanders squad you can only see that commanders icon.
You can easily follow your commander around provided you joined his/her squad. Their Icon is the only one you see.

Well that’s not true, coverage gets you into a higher tier… That’s like saying if you only had full-time NA coverage and little to no Oceanic/Euro coverage then you can still get into T1 against servers that have 24/7 coverage. With the guilds that recently transferred over from other servers into Blackgate it can only help us advance into a higher tier and adds to our WvW presence.

It takes coverage sure, but it has to be quality coverage. You are still lacking that and the guilds you picked up from us at least definitely don’t provide it. As it stands now, you cant even rack up enough points against servers with almost no coverage outside of NA, what makes you think you stand a chance in T1?

Quality is what we’re about covenn; and you can quote me on that. I believe all of the guilds in Blackgate can improve and I know for a fact we are only getting better each week. I do think Blackgate has great coverage both during and out of NA time. There is always room for improvement and Blackgate is one that improves on a daily basis.

Just to clarify quantity does not equal quality, individual and in small groups I have seen little to no improvement, however, I have seen more numbers in your zerg but not quality. Criticize my opinion if you want but this is exactly what I’ve observed.

Good for your observation, but I disagree. Every Blackgate guild has been doing an amazing job on improving especially against SoR on their primetime. We tend to have equal to slightly less PPT during your primetime. Then we take over pretty much every map during the later hours.

I would wait to evaluate SoR primetime untill after the holidays because most people are still out. Yes you’re missing players from your side as well which means that neither side is at full strength so true comparisons can be made after the holidays.

We actually had more points during the weeks before the holidays, if you are using this as your excuse for not quite getting first place for 6 weeks in a row then it’s not really a valid one :/

Well Holidays a lot of people were off from work. It’s why the scores were within 1-3k of each other for all 3 places, until players had to go back to work and such on Tuesday this week.

Also each day 1st place was flipping, BG/SOR/TC it was anyone’s game until Tuesday when a lot of people had to go back to work.

Profession doesn’t mean you can or will be a good or bad commander.

I myself am a Elementalist commander, I know Guardians, Thieves, Rangers, and more who are all also commanders. It’s based off leading into victory overall, and earning respect from your server as a commander.

The other day I found out I’ve gained the rep as a slightly b*tchy commander, who gets stuff done. Mainly due to logging in, assigning positions, duties, scouts, and such. (Even have new SoR members come on ts, or whisper me asking me to come into WvW when I go out to sleep, ect…)
I do also lead into the field, and such sometimes I die, others I don’t. Though even if I die, the SoR Rallians I play with don’t back off, and don’t get demoralized either.

It’s more of a “are you willing to put time and work” into being a commander then what class you play. Once you get a commander tag, and start leading, you’ll more then likely feel more of a duty to stay up late, wake early, be on, lead more, ect… then when you don’t have one. You will more then likely put in more effort, thought, watch maps more, study the enemy more, and need to retain more WvW information then non commanders. If/Once you gain a positive rep, you will be looked up to by non commanders and commanders alike, and need to work well with your server.

A commander tag is not just a blue shiny icon. If you want to be respected as a commander you have to work at it, win or lose, you slowly gain respect or not depending on how you handle situations, people, teaching players, ect…

I am not in WM however when I was on SBI server, they did have translators.
The best thing to do it try to contact their leaders, and ask for names of the translators, because WM used to have them. (Then again that was a long time ago.)

Back when I was on SBI server Miasmic myself and a few others used to work with Bissa in WM.
I worked with Bissa more then others, so I don’t remember names well, though I know WM has some translators. (Not sure if Bissa still plays or not, but it’s worth a try.) They are some very nice people, and know a good deal about WvW, fast movement, building siege quickly, ect…

Honestly ND wasn’t under appreciated. However ND also made little effort to be part of SoR’s WvW community. So please don’t go around saying SoR didn’t appreciate them, because we did. Yes ND moved to better there guild, and Yes some in SoR feel betrayed by ND.

As for the choo who called one of their commanders a name, I’d love to know who, because the Choo I know doesn’t support trashing fellow SoR players.

As for the santa idea:
Well Caedas did have Santa in guild for a while. Knight of Flowers dressed as santa. Literally. We even had a sit on santa’s lap event coupled by Quaggan elves in LA before the WvW reset on Friday last week.

Calm down. Dragons Tooth doesn’t require line of sight to hit. It’s not an exploit, just a broken skill that Anet needs to fix.

This is the same as the mesmer Illusion skill under greatsword until Anet fixed it. All servers have people who use it, and it will only stop once Anet requires LoS.

And here I was hoping you had a pic of a SoR actually exploiting, or glitching so I could hunt them down to get people to mass report spam till banned.

Yes, I have beaten thieves in 1-vs-1 both in spvp and WvWvW. But but: *the point was: many people really really hate that invisible opponents can down them in couple of seconds. And yes, some people quit playing the game because of it. * This topic pops in most interesting surroundings. One starts to talk about GW2 in gym, pub, messenger chat. Yes, many people complain about the problem. Clearly it is an issue.

Well most MMO’s have stealth break on damage, or a target icon shows if you scroll over someone stealthed. Or they have less time alloted for in stealth over all/damage reduction to skills used in stealth along with very slowed movement.

However GW2 has none of the above.

Yes let us AOE and spam all CD skills, then the thief who was perma stealthed comes and 1-3 shots us. Just as if we spammed 0 AOE’s.

AOE or not, makes 0 difference unless you have multiple people AOE’ing all over at the same exact times, and even then it won’t prevent shadow stepping into a person, stabbing them and dodging away to get back out of AOE range and still be in stealth.

Heck my thief isn’t lvl 80, and I kill people with it. Then get away. It’s almost like taking candy from a 5 year old kid.

Avalon how is it a big deal that the server who has 0 structures on a map gets a bit of siege to help them take a tower? Don’t over react. It’s not like the NPC in game even gives greatly thought out and placed siege.

Figure it this way:
Server A owns everything, has a zerg just sitting around on the map
Server B owns nothing starts a breakout event.

A of course runs to the tower B is attacking with the event, and “should” already have siege going. B has a commander who places and protects siege for a limited time. B’s siege has more HP and bubble to cover it for a bit, allowing them to finally get a tower on a map.

Now answer how that 1 tower changing to another server is a bad thing when your server owns the entire map.

The point is to promote that server which had nothing to get the tower, maybe even a supply camp, let them spend siege they got from money or badges to defend the tower with, and get a foothold in a map to promote more fighting.

SoR hunts for people that hack, exploit and the like to get them guild kicked and banned from GW2.
ICoa, well I wont really say due to it just causing another flame war. So drop youy “SOR does it more” because at elast SoR handles it, has said thread after thread send proof to one of us about stuff like that and we will hunt people down, and get them banned. Not defend someone doing it.

Don’t take it to seriously. 1 player or even 2 doesnt make an entire server.

In general:
I myself don’t trust all of ICoa, I do know they have at least 2 people who don’t stand for exploiting, because I have been working with them in the past over some pricks on sor who were jump exploiting. To find them and get ’em banned.

It all boils down to people in life cheat, and some don’t. We can’t control which server they go to or what guilds, and it’s best to work together to rid the cheaters who ruin the fun of WvW.

Holidays, and family aggro suck. Most guilds fielding half they normally do. Can’t wait till holidays are over.

LOL most nights the borderland order of attack is IOJ, BG then SOR and if you don’t think bg is pushing us on those maps you don’t know much about the oceanic time slot

It’s been to the point everyone can predict the movement, and actions of the enemy anymore. I welcome TC and can’t wait to fight with y’all again on the field.

Here’s the thing, people are assuming SoR has no clue about Tier 1.
Yes Blackgate has been winning, but it’s not as if they have completely dominated an entire match or close to it. It is more based off lack of coverage to offset theirs. It’s at nights SoR has to recall to 1 maybe 2 maps, and has both IoJ/BG pushing them at the same time. In that time BG is able to nearly fully cap 3 maps, and hold it, due to IoJ’s numbers focusing SoR BL, and unable for them to push BG BL, IoJ BL, and EBG. Same thing with SoR 99% of the night SoR recalls to SoR BL and doesn’t have the numbers to push other maps, only to defend what they have. If you WvW much you know SoR BL is the last map to be pushed and taken over, and thats due to all 3 fighting it out on it.

SoR lost it’s Oceanic guild who joined BG. If you noticed the fight has went down during Oceanic prime, but not a complete blowout difference. It’s due to many SoR Rallians waking early, sleeping late, and keeping a fight going. Even if they face double the numbers.

When SoR prime time hits, BG and IoJ both focus SoR because if they didn’t both would more then likely lose everything due to how strong of a NA coverage SoR has.

SoR has the will, relentless fighting spirit, just lacks Oceanic/EU coverage.
Don’t trash and talk down about SoR when even your server couldn’t cut it in Tier 1.
Especially when you know down if SoR had the coverage they would be in Tier 1. (As sad as it is to say coverage is the main issue for SoR, which we are also working on.)

Want to know why some are arrogant. It’s due to at least 1/3rd the SoR players being from Tier 1 servers. So when people see BG talking dwn like they own everything all the time, and completely blow out and own SoR we see the talk, but we know the difference. Many of us have been in the Tier 1 servers which BG couldn’t beat. The only server who honestly has bragging rights at the moment is SoS. Not BG.

Here’s something to think about:
What have the Tier 1 servers said about yours?

How would the rams block the Dolyaks? I have yet to ever see that happen.

Now I have seen people build rams, to eat supply up ebfore a zerg smacks them and takes a camp from 3 defenders.
I’ve seen Dolyaks walk through rams, as well as AC’s, Ballitas, and the like.

Now if you did not own any towers/keeps the dolyaks walk to then they wouldn’t leave the camp. (Was that what happened?)

To the people who say downed doesnt give any advantage to a smaller group versus a larger group:

I was in a group of 10, we killed 15-20 from one server, then 15-20 from the 2nd opposing server. We used Rally between the groups in the 5-10 second window where 1 group wiped, and the 2nd group came.

Downed state should stay in WvW.

As for SoR NA moving anywhere;
Many have real life ties to SoR server like GSCH. (Not just in game ties.)
They worked had with Arena Net to have SoR named after a player who was in their guild and passed away. As well as an NPC in the charr starting zone(On all servers I believe.)

Wall jumping into the outer walls? I don’t see ANYONE doing that and I’ve been standing in the keep for some time. They were probably seeing how SoR was doing it since they’ve been doing it all day. You have 2 people in your guild, at Hills(owned by BG atm) A D/D Tank Ele and a Thief who were just caught practicing Wall jumping into the outer walls. I’m not trying to talk trash, enough people are doing that in the thread already. Its probably something you should look into.

Was in the /map conversation. People were aimlessly jumping at the wall seeing if they could discover the exploit. They were curious after 15 SoR mysteriously showed up at that point in the keep.

Wouldn’t you be as well?

Do either of you have a screen shot or fraps? I’d love to identify who they were on SoR.

Screen shot or video? Never heard of a guild or a player by that name in SoR.
If you do have fraps of it or a Screen shot let me know, SoR doesn’t like hackers or cheaters.

As for a smear campaign. I see 1 sor guild trying to smear another BG guild and that’s normally how most threads go. As for a “server” smear of any of the 3 in the match up, I see more posting XX server hacked, exploited, ect…. But lack any proof when asked.

Now in my opinion either the BG members doing it aren’t telling the truth, or they don’t want SoR to be able to find the culprit and get it banned. Honestly drop the xx is doing xx unless you have proof to back it, and allow the server to get the player banned from GW2.

Remember last time someone provided proof of an SoR exploiter, that player got banned. Don’t try to smear SoR server knowing we get hackers/exploiters banned whereas another server only gave a smack on the wrist to theirs.

Bottom line is the Better server has won and is continuing to win. Numbers or map coverage is not the reason, the excuses are old and boring. Only solutuon is for the 2nd and 3rd place servers to up the game to compete, whether they like it or not.

Yes numbers mean nothing when you have 2 groups of 60+ fighting 1 group of 10-20.

You know why we’re in second place, IoJ/BG?
It isn’t time zone coverage.

At least we have a solid group of consistent level 80
players there to carry everyone else’s weight.

Oh it’s you >.> Whining about alts in EB team chat isn’t enough for you? You have to come do it on the forums?

Heaven forbid people get bored of the play style on their main and want to try something different every now and then. WvW is not a job, you do not have to bring your main every single day. Personally I would much rather have people on their alts in WvW than leveling their alts in pve.

Also Bav contributes more to our server than you. He is almost always on team speak coordinating with other guilds even when his friends and him decided to play around on charr hammer warrior alts.

And I was going to post to tell people to ignore that player.

You are mistaken if you think people have to play their mains 100% of the time on GW2. WvW or not, at least in WvW they can carry siege, supply, and help. Otherwise they could be in PvE during non queue times, and doing nothing to help.

Heck I can kill people with my lvl 4 mesmer easy. It scales up all but the gear. You even get more power and such when scaled to lvl 80 in WvW. (Even though I rarely get to play any alt ever.)

It is time zone coverage more then levels. 90% of SoR uses their mains which are lvl 80, fully geared. 10% of the time SoR likes to play on alts. Other then on Friday-Sunday nights, SoR suffers a lack of coverage due to their NA players having to sleep for school/work and such. (Where as the weekend they don’t have to as much, which is why you notice the weekends we tend to do better then during the week.)

About TS:
You can use it or not, No one is forced to.
Yes TS does help quicken information on the map, as well as all 4 maps. It’s how SoR will have a force pop in and out of maps if possible to drive off enemy attackers.
It’s easier to get things built, coordinate things and defend while communicating via TS, or any VOIP.
Typing+ fighting someone= death 90% of the time.

We communicate through ts, who goes which map on reset, where to go, where the enemy is, what the enemy is doing, plans of attack, swapping guilds on maps as needed, and a ton of things. Not to mention some of SoR’s most active WvW’ers use the TS3 and do better then they would typing every little thing. Plus some commanders ALSO use the /map and /team chats as well to inform the militia, though its slow more are starting to do it.
