ridiculous way to fix this “problem” there are hardly any OP or Strong healing abilities in this game. DO Anet actually consult with players in trying to find solutions to percieved problems?
The issue was players “stacking” on top of one another and throwing heals for all to get, while AOE’s form the enemy only hit 5 people each time.
Anet went about a “cap” to healing though IMHO they should have removed AOE’s cap, or at least raised the Cap based off of enemies in proximity.
I’ll take what we got for now, but I do think they will possibly change it in the future. (They tend to ninja read the forums and complaints about things, and actively try to change things.)

Just want to say a huge thanks to both SoR and IoJ
SoR, You guys came into the forums with all guns blazing, Halloween hit and the excuses started to flow, never the less you guys still had times where we were on our back feet, few tips though, dont complain about 2v1 and then suggest strategically wise that having a truce between SoR and IoJ vs SoS should be a good idea. If you guys spent as much time in the battle field than in the forum you may have actually been a bit harder to beat.
IoJ nothing but the utmost respect for you guys, after a tough week in t1 you guys fought well, your tactics were well executed with what resources you had, always been a good fight and plenty of various strategies and counters.
On behalf of Team Shatter its been a great experience Thanks
A few things in regards to your “tips”
As far as I am Aware SoR never offered or even considered a Truce with anyone.
However we were offered a Truce and declined it.
Also any WvW normal for SoR you won’t see really complaining about any 2v1’s.
Best of luck to you in Tier 1.
@Miasmic:
Thanks for the announcement. :P
I could make fun of you, but I’ll save that for Ventrilo. <3
@Dear Hunter.8365 :
That was a lot of fun last night. I can’t wait till WvW reset, and all future fights along side you and everyone

Just have the Karka invade WvWvW too. Regular karka assaults in towers/keeps, and a big karka boss camping Stonemist. Problem solved.
Haha.
Have it spawn if 1 server is outmanned, and kill the attackers/help the outmanned people.

That was a nice hit. SoR had been trebbing for a while when SoS had it, so after IoJ took SM, it was nice. All the upgrades wiped, and we broke in fast after y’all took it from SoS.

Hmm, I am starting to wonder how much leading of coordinated WvW you have contributed in.
With your statement, you haven’t seen the bottle neck issues that every keep has due to the design of them. At these points, it took sheer zerg power to push through + what ever healing people could supply.
Now, with this change, I can’t see it happening unless they limit the amount of seige weapons allowed to be deployed inside a keep.
There is a limit as to how much siege can be placed.
“Invincibility lies in the defence; the possibility of victory in the attack.” Sun Tzu
So if we could cast our illusion on it, which first required a target, that means ground based AoE’s could hit them also.
Wrong, due to the fact Mesmer’s only had to “target” not have Line of Sight.
So a Mesmer could hit siege set on the inside off from walls as long as they had a target. All others would need LoS to hit something set outside of AoE ranges.
Ctrl+T by someone in party, run up cast illusion, run back. I destroyed a lot of siege on my mesmer that way.
@Ordibble.3092,
Meteor Shower has a limit on range, Horizontally, and vertically.

I should probably rephrase myself and not call it an exploit, what I am getting at is that if somebody comes up, taps a guard to contest the WP, runs and hides and waits for the 3 min timer and just keep doing it again as more of a “cheap” tactic. In my opinion, if you aren’t actually hitting the Keep with a WP, it shouldn’t have a timer where you can’t use the WP unless the keep is actually getting hit and not due to the timer.
If it’s someone ONLY hitting guards and doing no damage to the wall or gate at all, then it’s a bug.
However if they hit a gate or wall and did damage even 1 time, the location becomes contested for apx 2 minutes 50 seconds. That would be intended and a strategy to hinder the enemy from re spawning as close, to making the enemy think they are being attacked at a location.
As far as I am aware a tower/keep only becomes contested once a gate or wall has been damaged.
Supply camps become contested once someone enters a specific area.
“Invincibility lies in the defence; the possibility of victory in the attack.” Sun Tzu
The guilds gaining currency based on what they have claimed I’m not a fan of.
Mainly due to the fact it would discourage guilds which have no buffs being willing to unclaim a location, for a guild which has full active buffs at the time to claim.
Though a WvW currency I am all for.

To the IOJ’s who were on SoR borderlands, and porting Golems through the lake.
Try to avoid people hitting the Krait. I have a huge tendency to check anything or send scouts if I see Orange swords or white ones on a tower/keep/camp.
I wasn’t expecting to run into a large force of yours or the golems.
Actually said on Teamspeak “These better not freaking be bots”…and a few seconds later spotted y’all.
Was fun though.

I’m still showing up when I can make the time. Had a great time last night as we stole two keeps in SoS border with a 5-man group while their zerg was on our borderland.

Someone clarify for me how sitting in the water not even touching garrison to contest it a tactic?
Possible Scout, if just sitting.
Also, sitting near a keep won’t contest it.
Hitting a wall/Door and doing damage will.
If they hit the walls/gates and do damage then they also have to fight or run from the NPC’s and risk dying to them as well as defenders. (Provided there are people defending.)
However they are disrupting the enemy forces and could have contact with others on their side to use it as a tactic. (Read posts above this one)

Silvannas, you and I play during the same times and our paths have crossed before. I don’t need to explain to you what it’s like playing against Sea of Sorrows in the early AM hours but I would like an explanation from you as to why you find it to be enjoyable…
They steamroll us the entire night during Oceanic prime, pushing us right back to our citadel where we pretty much stay until the early morning when more Americans start to log on. Once we finally have the numbers to push back, all of SoS just logs off and we PvDoor the rest of the morning.
I don’t find that to be even the least bit fun, hence the reason I and a few friends have transferred off for the week. We love the community on SoR and I feel a bit ashamed and remorseful for abandoning you guys for the week. But I’d much rather fight a 10v10 battle than fight a series of 10v30 battles until 8 AM EST when it instantly becomes a 30v0 battle.
I find it fun when they have to call 30-50 for 8 people holding out in a supply camp.
I find fighting win or lose fun.
I don’t find being zerged or zerging fun, however I also don’t find “giving up” fun either.
It’s not so much they “steam roll” as our side during those times lack coordination, and team work. If myself, owl, you, Miasmic, and a few others who coordinate were not to log in. Then honestly I dont think we would hold anything over night.
As for this week, we’ve been able to hold Garrison until it was lost on SOR BL apx 9-10pm EST. (It was lost prior to me getting to work but it was lost during NA prime time.) In fact around this time last week we’d lose everything on all maps, and be starting from ground zero. So far this week it hasn’t been as bad.
Also apx 3am-8am EST every day last week, SoS would /golem rush.
True that’s not fun, but it is the main reason we were steam rolled every morning last week. Mesmers can chain portal golems to a tower/keep within less then 60 second, and a keep’s gate can be destroyed in 15seconds or less. It happens.
I also don’t want to let down all the others form SoR who are fighting and trying to hold out over night, until NA prime time players log in. Plus I dump a ton of gold into upgrading, and placing siege, as do many. So I’d rather try to not let it get destroyed.

It’s interesting to know SoS has to use a server transfer exploit to plant two commanders in SoR WvW zones to throw off the zergs on Friday night (Wolfbain and Cacare).
Who? I don’t even recognize those names as being commanders.
Then again if people follow someone random who isn’t an established person on the server for leading, ect… then it’s their own fault.
Commander tag doesn’t = a commander. It’s only a shiny blue trap. Nothing more.
A true commander is established on a server for being a leader.
@Sjaakie.1470, SoR isn’t allianced with SoS.

I have to say I am very disappointed in some of the responses from the SoR players. We burn through 42 gp in upgrades/siege last week and not so much as a ‘thank you’ but we take the courtesy to let you know that we are moving off for the week and the rage hits the fans.
The issue is you are viewing it as if only your group burnt through money on upgrades.
Many SoR members spent a lot of gold on upgrading, defending, and placing siege. (Even people who do not have guilds spent gold and refused to give up.)
As for you being off of SoR, hope you’re having fun in your match.
As for being disappointed by reply’s, think of the SoR members who had faith in their fellow SOR’s.
To see them start transferring off due to not liking the matches, or viewing themselves as the only ones spending money. Think of how they may have been disappointed by seeing people they trusted up and leave the server.
I don’t think people “don’t” want you back, however I do think you let your fellow SoR members down.
Also score update

A good commaner:
Communicates to people in guilds as well as ones who are guildless.
Is willing to teach and learn.
A good commander doesn’t flame, or bash others.
Someone who has knowledge of tactics, and enemies.
A person who is not afraid to call a retreat if they know the battle is lost.
Someone who has gained respect, and trust by earning it.
Someone willing to learn from mistakes, and think with a creative mind.
Someone determined and won’t lose hope.
Someone who takes a loss, learns, regroups and try to turn the battle around.
A person willing to “think” and use their “brain” over being mindless and trying to run around with overpowering numbers.
There’s a lot more, but you can get the point.
“Invincibility lies in the defence; the possibility of victory in the attack.” Sun Tzu
For those transferring off of SoR, I wish yall the best.
Though be aware you are doing more harm then good by leaving because the match up is stale. In all honestly if SoR loses and goes down a tier, steam rolling the 4 maps again is no more fun, then it is to fight the same opponents.
For those who are on SoR and not WvW’ing to help, same as above.
As for Queue times, they ONLY get bad on Reset night, when you have all major WvW guilds organized into specific maps, and they are fielding a lot of people during that time. (on SoR WvW reset night Queue gets about 3-4 hours long, any time after those 3-4 hours, or any other day the queue’s I’ve never seen hit that peak of times.) You might get 1-2 during “NA Prime time hours” but that’s natural from any higher tier server.
As for SoR we are still working on communication and tactics. Can’t tell you how many times someone from a well known guild didn’t bother to call something out and we had to /bumrush to defend. (Or something stupid in general) Yes SoR has hit a wall in WvW tiers as far as coverage goes, so less logging into WvW hoping things will change, does nothing.
In all reality unless some large guilds leave SoR you will have to get over yourself. Either deal with a tier below what we are in now, and steam roll cap everything, or you fight in the tier we are in now and have a fight.
All I can personally say about this match is SoR BL was fun yesterday and Im looking forward to it being fun all week!

Don’t play WvW to “win” play for the “fun” of WvW.

Honestly there should be differen’t ways to obtain a legendary weapon.
Some like PvE and hate PvP.
Some players won’t set foot in PvE but love PvP.
Right now it requires both, and there should be different things. I don’t know how you could go about it, but 3 options would be nice. PvP in WvW for one, or PvE farm, or even the current option which is a mix.
As for legendary’s, currently you have to sit in PvE and farm 24/7 for a week/few weeks, or you have to play the market to get enough gold to afford making one. (The only other way people did it so far other then those 2 options was if they exploited or something. Which is a bannable offense.)
To those angry that other players will get a legendary:
It’ll happen eventually, it’s an achievement/goal for all characters in game.

I’m reading a lot about portaling, which is exactly what Blackgate brought to the table when they started T1, but they hardly use it anymore (maybe cause SBI and JQ have adapted to it? but not sure). Hopefully SoS will make it to Tier 1 this week and let’s see how they fair.
SBI and JQ had a lot of time to adapt to culling issues, portal bombing, while they were fighting against HoD. (Back when HoD was #1 ranked.)
Pulling out “portal bombing” and acting as if it was a new thing, I doubt effected SBI/JQ much. When I was on SBI, HoD used portal bombing 24/7, in addition to many tactics and mass amounts of people 24/7. So I highly doubt it was new to them.

I am enjoying this match.
However I am starting to think that Anet should limit the amount of golems allows within a certain area. (Kinda like they do all other siege.)
SoR has both been hit by golem army’s, and used them in this match. Though even using them, to get our towers/keep back, I do feel it’s somewhat cheap that 8 golems can rip through gates in a matter of 5-15seconds.
It’s almost as if it makes it so easy to just mesmer portal chain an army of golems, that no other sieging is worth it. :x
Plus turtling the golems+ people, kills a good bit of the AOE damage. Add in Time warp, and reflects + people aoe’ing the walls.
I don’t know, I mean I like golems, and such, but I do see where it can ruin the fun of WvW.
This Match is basically SoS and SoR going at it at nights/morning with golem army’s anyways.

How about, no cap on AOE’s and amount of people they hit.
Or cap it at like 10-15 people.
Maybe turtling will die out some, along with mindless zerging.
Also, party gets 1st priority in AOE heals/buffs over non party members.

While removing Arrow carts, please remove golems, ballista’s, catapults, rams, trebuchets, and such.
Also please remove portals, AOE’s, stuns, and anything else, which proves you can’t just PvDoor.
This adds nothing to the discussion, and if you read anything else then the title, you might respond different. It’s also clear the two of you play on bigger server and are addicted to your defensive siege tools. Anyone who only played on bigger servers cannot understand this issue.
Actually it was sarcasm, due to their being nothing wrong with arrow carts.
In addition to that I’ve played on SBI and went to SoR back when it was in lower tier brackets, so don’t always assume.
Arrow carts are as easily destroyed, and passed by/avoided as they are set up. However to do such, you have to have people communicating well, and set plans, along with everyone working together.
Taking things out of WvW to make it easier for some, may sound like a good idea, however in reality things like arrow carts are fine as they are. It may take a bit more tactics to get past them but it is possible and done many times, every day by many players on large and small servers.
I did read, and honestly complaining that a siege is Over powered and saying their enemy always has more of them is in NO WAY a reason something should be removed from WvW.
As for AC’s: 90% of Arrow Carts are built within range of AOE’s.
Same with Ballista’s.
Trebuchets can be hit however it might take more then face smashing a wall to hit them. Sometimes it takes another treb, sometimes AOE’s, ballistas, or even a catapult.
Same for Catapults.
Use tactics over Numbers any time, any day and you will progress much better.

Oh hey SoS is being hit by IoJ, and SoR, that doesnt mean it’s them working together. It means both are taking the opportunity. Same thing for SoR / IoJ being hit.

At the OP.
If you want to block EU and NA’s from playing on each others servers.
What would you do about the NA players who play during EU times and such?
I mean it’d make it to which server has the most night time players anyways, due to everyone not having the same be time as one another.
Like I live in NA, but I mainly play GW2 from 11pm Eastern until about 11am eastern.(If not a bit later.) It’s not due to living somewhere different then NA, but more or less I work night shift so my “day time” is your “night time”.
Want to make it worse, do that. Then watch which servers have 2nd/3rd shift workers on them to carry their server to the top, without any opposition from any EU/Aussie/Oceanic people.

So who thinks they’ll make it into T1 after next week? If SoS manages to dominate their bracket again they’ll force themselves into T1, maybe even leap-frogging most of the T1 bracket. Or maybe SoR can manage to beat SoS and CDS will have to fight SBI? Will T1 stay completely the same for the 3rd week in a row? Will IoJ wake up this week and not fall out of T2?
Hey, I wouldn’t mind fighting some of my friends I still have on SBI.
