Expansion time please.
Need I say more?
What makes you think an expansion would stop the Zerg content production? ANet has said that they enjoy this kind of content…it’s also cheap to produce. Pretty sure that is what we are going to see again and again for the next year.
Black Lion Keys are 125 gems, or $1.56.
If you can farm 3 keys in an hour, that means you are paying yourself $4.68 per hour. Had you instead worked an hour of overtime at a minimum wage job you would have earned $10.88 for your hour and could have purchased those 3 keys with the same amount of time spent (1 hour) and had $6.20 left over to do anything you wanted with.
If people want to farm the keys, it’s really their loss.
Yah, but there’s not a SINGLE jumping puzzle at work. I know, I’ve looked!
Quite frankly you aren’t trying hard enough.
I’ve been trying to make the accountant cubicle to copier jump for about two weeks and just can’t do it…not to mention its totally infuriating when Johnson from marketing makes the jump at lunch without breaking a sweat…pretty sure he was simultaneously running sales projections in his head. I swear if the boss doesn’t nerf that jump in the next restructure, I’m going to rage quit for sure.
I also would like Fractals (and to a lesser extent, Dungeons) to evolve to allow for 2-5 player scaling. I know they are currently designed for 5 people, but I’d like to see the balance code reworked in such a way that 2 people could run through a fractal and be rewarded for that level scale. Obviously 5-man fractals would reward more, but I personally just want to run through them with my wife…currently that isn’t possible.
Call it “Casual-mode” for Fractals.
I would like us to start of by listing the top three things we would like to see evolved in Fractal Design. Idea proposals can come after this stage.
Chris
1. Procedural Generation
it would be nice if at least some elements found in a fractal were a bit randomize so that every run has variety
2 rewards
making rewards not entirely dependable on RNG
3 User generated content
This is perhaps a bit too ambitious but perhaps if the mists can be found to dwell in alternate realities not just the past, it would be interesting to allow players to design their own fractals and share them with the community.Personal opinion: It would be really cool to have number 3. Rewards would be an interesting problem in regard to this idea though.
Chris
This single-handedly would be the evolution of Fractals that I would like to see. As a long-time NWN 1&2 builder I know first hand the strength of a passionate community that is given the right tools to tell stories.
You are correct however that rewards is something that has to be figured out as the current NWO version of the Foundry is a perfect exploiters tool that the game company has yet to figure out how to implement correctly.
Everyone take a shot!! drinks
Okay so, do women in Tyria simply have no shame whatsoever? Is that what I’m supposed to take away from the armor designs? I mean, come on. Don’t get me wrong, I love boobs as much as the next guy but Mother of Balthazar, there is almost nothing covering the female torso whatsoever.
I like the set, overall, but is it too much to ask for an armor set with at least some level of modesty? I’m seriously asking, is that something we could have at some point? Armor that actually… I don’t know, that would actually serve as armor and provide some level of protection to the general torso area.
well said…that armor is just insanely open on the top.
I’m tempted to go loot the trading company while all the ruckus is going on…there’s got to be a box of ectos and a assuran flat panel TV I can snag while no one is looking…
HOLY CLEAVAGE!!!

GW2 just became the Side Boob Hour
Escape from Lion's Arch content too hard

Yes and the loot is terribad!! I’ve gotten nothing all morning but blues and greens…plus getting one-shotted by that giant Watchwork Quaggan death machine….fix it ANEt or I quit!!!
:))
While I appreciate what they are trying to do with a permanent changing and dynamic world, I personally would have appreciated a more GW1 style of story implementation. If you take a break from the game you lose track of what is going on and feel like you have been left behind.
I really liked the historian NPC in GW1 where I could go at any time and play through content. I don’t know what the right thing is for GW2, I just don’t care for content that feels pushed on you.
Hopefully our future solution will include the gestures, expressions, and additive technology from the 2 character cinematics, but play out in the game world with proper camera cuts and lip sync.
Thank you – that was genuinely informative.
Once you have a new system you’re (more) satisfied with, do you think it likely you’ll go back and re-shoot the Personal Story cinematics?
It makes very little sense to go back and redo old, completed work. It makes as much sense as George Lucas going back over Jedi and adding in the Vader “NOOOOOOO!” line…just a giant waste of time.
I know they said LA would be changing, but who said it would be gone for good? The merchants will be in Fort Marriner for the next release and probably the one after that. Once Scarlet is done, I bet LA will be back to normal, but with some changes from the invasion. Although, it would be cool if it were totaled and became a regular zone with monsters and stuff, but not likely.
It took them half a year to rebuild the statue after King Thorn blew it up, how long would it take them to rebuild the whole city? Especially if things are still there fighting them.
Meh. They’ll just throw two bricks, a plank, and a sack of kittens into the mystic forge, and POOF, newly rebuilt Lion’s Arch.
You will need to grind laurels for the sack of kittens, and the plank can be crafted by collecting 500 plank splinters from fallen enemies. The brick can only be gotten from a 0.000003% chance drop off a Black Lion Chest.
…but yes…throw all that stuff into the forge and POOF, newly rebuilt Lion’s Arch.
(Relevance, this is what centaurs might have for leg armor)
I can see it now:
4 Shoes .. so they need 2 Slots for Shoes .. anyone sees a big balancing problem here ?
This is easily fixed by allowing all other races to wear an extra pair of shoes on their hands over their gloves. See…problem solved.
I’m going on record as saying adding this pick to the Gem store is crossing the P2W line. It is not good, goes too far, and should be removed.
It doesn’t matter what or how small the advantage is. It crosses the line. This new pick is not just convenience or cosmetic. It gives bonus materials for a gem purchase. Show me the in game item that a player can get by not making a purchase in the gem store and I’ll concede that it is not P2W.
It DOES NOT matter how small the creep over the line is. It is still setting a bad precedent and should not be tolerated by the player base.
ANet, remove or change this item now.
Yup, I would buy that. QoL items like that make very good gem shop items. 1000 gems would be quite a good price. Any higher and I’d never buy it.
It’s also a good idea to let people walk through restaurants and ask people “Are you going to eat that?”
A better plan would be to ask ANet to make IGNs not part of your account like many other MMOs. Your account name should be what the game links to your account…not the IGN.
But truthfully…too little too late.
There were raids long before WoW. It is a valid gameplay type that ANet has yet to address properly.
I personally would have preferred Teq and the Wurm to be instanced content instead of open world.
Adding proper raid content does not preclude ANet from also adding large 100+ world event content. You can do both and support both.
just to inform Wanze and others here. i could EASILY photoshop this and outdo everyone here on deaths. How? easy. I take two consecutive screenshots, one after CTRL-SHIFT+H, and one with the chat window up. i photoshop the chat window with the text i so desire (mimicked perfectly) and layer that over the screenshot of whatever environmental things are going on behind it. I could easily do this in 10-15 minutes. I’ve been a professional graphic designer now for 8 years. As i’ve stated that this is possible, i’m obviously not going to do this, nor compete in the contest, but i did want to alert you guys to the possibility of someone easily being able to do this. Risky competition given that someone could easily photoshop it fellas. Keep a sharp eye.
^^^^^^
Exactly this. Screenshots are not anyway to confirm anything nowadays. Granted, I like the initiative with the idea, but it isn’t a very secure way to go.
On a side note, I wish ANet allowed to to see an overlay death map of your accounts deaths. I think it would be funny to see all the times I’ve fallen to my death right outside of the bank in LA.
The issue is (and this goes for all content in PvE) that the loot2effort ratio is completely out of wack. There is no way ever that following a zerg in a champ train should be more profitable than doing a dungeon for the first time in a day. But it is…by a lot.
Until ANet takes a very hard look and redesign of that loot2effort ratio, nothing will get fixed and the champ train will rain supreme. This is the main reason I have never played through most of the dungeons…they just aren’t worth the time.
The dungeon armor reward system is even worse as instead of getting enough tokens from a run for something cool…I have to grind out the same boring runs 10-20 times? Most of the content is like this. Grind it 10-100 times for your reward. WTH? That isn’t fun.
My issue with the new additions to the Teq fight is that I can’t ever get to it without queing up for two hours prior. The fact that you get bumped to overflow by guests on your own server is insane. I love the changes…great job…just the accessibility of the content is the issue for me.
We are trying to take steps to address some of the dominance of Berserker/DPS players. More info next week, I think.
Jon
Got to wonder how people go from “addressing” issues to OHNOES!! They N3rfing mah zerkers!!!
relax people…sheesh.
I don’t understand why people feel that they should be given something that they don’t deserve. 100% Completion is just that…completion. Asking for the WvW parts to be taken out is the same as asking for vista to be taken out.
Maybe we should take all of it out and just logging in gets you 100%.
Perhaps that will just be too hard as well.
WvW area completion is more difficult than the rest…yup…that’s the point. Those at 100% didn’t cheat or exploit some mechanic to get it. They just did it.
I did it…on my home server…just had patience and did it. Not really that hard either.
I understand that all parts of the game aren’t everyone’s favorite, but what people are asking is just not fair or best for the game IMO. It seems more likely that they just want everything handed to them without ever trying anything challenging.
edit: If you want to ask for something, then ask for server colors to rotate better. There’s no reason why one server should be the same color for four weeks…that seems poorly designed. If fixed I bet all the anger would just disappear.
(edited by MokahTGS.7850)
There’s a secret garden as well as a hidden cat…if you keep looking there are secrets all over the place.
There shouldn’t be non-teq versions of the area at all. IMO they should have just added a new area to the game that was dedicated to this fight and then make all people who enter it able to join the fight.
The fact that you have to que up 3 hours before to take part in this event is proof that it is broken.
Guests to a server should never boot a home player to an overflow…ever.
Agreed and /signed
Server lines seem to be meaningless with this new content.
I’ve been salvaging all the greens and blues and then selling the crafting mats making lots more gold than I have in the past. I made 40 gold just off of salvaged mats.
I’m not asking for a nerf…but I’m asking for something to be done with Bloodstone dust. There is too much of it. It is account bound so it’s not sellable on the TP. Your collections tab only can hold 250 of it which I maxed in about an hour of champ farming.
Either allow us to vendor the dust we don’t want or make it tradable on the TP or reduce the amount that drops, or something. All the other materials drop much less frequently so some balancing needs to be done.
The amounts are balanced around needing 100 of them for 1 Brick. Meaning you’re looking at 500 per weapon.
Ah…ok…I have little interest in getting my crafting up any higher so I never looked at the conversion rate. Seems really high.

Thats for one off hand weapon. 2H weapons get a second sigil as well.
still a pretty small bump for all the fuss.
I asked this same question and got an answer…not sure how accurate it is, but there you go:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/What-are-the-ascended-weapon-stats/first#post2766518
IMO, it makes sense to hold onto your mats until ascended armor is released since that would make more of a difference. More bang for your buck.
Exotics will be fine for me for everything I do.
Points to the OP title
Do the words in your own title mean something different to you or did you not understand what it means and just type randomly?
It’s too bad the game isn’t fun for you. Many people like it. Maybe you should spend your time elsewhere where you enjoy things.
If your point is that champion hit points should be increased then you should change your title to reflect that main point. If your main point is say the game isn’t fun, then don’t say that you didn’t say it wasn’t fun…since you did…in the title.
(edited by MokahTGS.7850)
so…if you don’t like something….just destroy it. Have a nice day. Pretty sure there isn’t a mandate that you do anything with ascended crafting.
Comparing a knights exotic/ascended pistol
876-1029/920-1080
90/94 toughness
64/67 power
64/67 precision
Good lord that is basically meaningless, IMO. Why are people making such a big deal out of this? I’ll probably work toward one or two ascended weapons but my current exotics are just fine for PvE and probably fine for WvW too.
I think I’ll just farm for mats and gold…oh and play the game, it’s more fun.
I’m curious as to what the ascended weapon stats are and how much of a stat jump they are over exotic.
Anyone have a link or know the stats?

I’ve done the same thing by looking through the Dulfy gallery and seeing the Tribal sets and saying “PERFECawwww….”
ANet…plez bring me tribal armor back!
What do you need Dark Matter for? I don’t see it listed in the ascended list: http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/gw2-ascended-greatsword-crafting-32.jpg
edit: NVM…I see you need 10 for the inscription.

Two of the original GW founders left? Great, I already put hundreds of dollars into the game and now I learn that the company may turn it into yet another interwebz grindfest?
So people are complaining that LW is driving ANet developers away who left the company long before GW2 was created…hmmm…yeah that makes sense.
- Jeff Strain left ANet in 2008 for NCSoft West and then left NCSoft in 2009.
- Patrick Wyatt left ANet in 2008 for NCSoft West and then left NCSoft and is currently part of En Masse Entertainment.
- GW2 was announced in 2007, shown off to the public in 2009, and released in 2012. Those guys were long gone before much of GW2 was even developed let alone the LW.
While I agree that the LW stuff may come a tad too fast…personally I’d like to see every 3-4 weeks instead of the current schedule, but people cannot claim that game developers are leaving because of the current LW plan.

You can do dailies to finish up the meta.
If you are planning on doing 13 invasions, you can no longer be considered casual.
I didn’t know that dailies count toward the meta…that’s good. It is unclear by ANets description when these invasions will slow down, so some clarification would be welcomed.
I define casual as playing 1-2 hours each night with some nights of no playing whatsoever. Being required to play 13-15 invasions for the meta would be very difficult this time.
I have completed all other metas playing no more than this in the past. Not sure why this one has to be different…this would be the point of my OP.
I’m having a hard time understanding how I will be able to finish the meta achievements for this release. Here’s the problem:
- To take part in an invasion event I need to show up at the top of every hour or within 10 minutes of that time. If I miss this small window, I have to wait another 50 min.
- There are at minimum 13-15 invasions that need to be attended to finish the meta. That is 13-15 hours of play that must take place at a very specific time or that time is pushed back even further.
- Apparently, these invasion will be fairly common (read every hour) for the next day or so and then it will less common meaning it will be harder and take longer to complete.
How are people that play casually able to do any of this?
- After the Clockwork Chaos release, the invasions will continue at a less frequent pace.
I don’t understand how this works. Are the invasions only going to happen today or are they going to keep happening for the entire release?
Hopefully this won’t be a repeat of the one-time karka event… :P
there really should be a “Streaker” achievement…please ANet…make it so.
I’ve mailed 100 gold back and forth and have not been banned. There isn’t an autoban ghost in the machine if that is what you are worried about.
I wholeheartedly agree with OP. As Tarnished Coast seems to always be getting rolled, and is NEVER blue, I’m stuck at 95%.
I’m on TC and have 100%. I don’t particularly like WvW but it was never “hard” to get areas in WvW completed. I just watched the colors and got the areas I needed…it took some time yes (maybe 1 week), but afterward it felt like an achievement…oh wait…that’s what it is.
The latest glitch for this for me last night was an aether blade ship event that was stuck with no aether blades showing up. Pretty hard to shake their morale when they sit on their ship and mock us…“I fart in your general direction, you sons of a silly person!”
I would really love it if people would stop trying to cram GW2 into their idea of what fantasy or sci-fi is and just let them tell a story and enjoy the ride.
IMO, GW2 is refreshing and does a great job of mixing both traditional fantasy with steampunk culture. It’s unique and fun and finally something new after years of the same ol’ thing.
I killed every single type of champion getting the chest on every single type. I didn’t get credit until I went back and talked to each champion. Apparently it is an inconsistent bug. I was frustrated with it not completing and it would only give me credit for the last one when I did that. If he is having the same problem it might help him finish it.
Sorry, I’m not discounting your experience, just pointing out that it is not the only way things happen. I suspect a bug that should be reported.
I will also double check your method as I still need a couple champions and report back.
Ok here is what was slowing me down. You have to be the one to talk to him to start the fight to get credit. If you talk to the balloon person to start it and then someone else talks to the champion, even if you get the chest for defeating the champion and the loot from the balloon …he doesn’t count.
So make sure you stand by each type and talk to them to start the fight.
This is not true. I’ve gotten credit for 3 of the champions without talking to them…I just stumbled upon it already in progress. There might be a bug, but one person getting credit for an event is not how it is designed.
Sorry for being the sour apple, but this makes me wonder where ANet’s priorities are…
Yes, if you mean their priority of adding detailed, lore rich environments, with humor and polish, then yes…heaven forfend they continue in that misguided way of doing things.
// eyeroll \\
ANet…keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing more adventures on Hobo-tron…poor guy.
(edited by MokahTGS.7850)
Yes, I’m not sure why these need to be soulbound. Kind of annoying if you ask me.
