My 2 cents.
I was finishing my 2nd character last spring for map completion and only needed Bay for my last POI in the TC Borderlands. We had the numbers present to easily take the objective but the commander told me that he would not because he had an agreement with Tarnished Coast not to.
I had to wait until the end of the Tournament to complete it and it was then that I joined the list of players who wanted it removed.
Not because I didn’t want to have to do it but because there are times where it was beyond my control to complete the objective.

Best update/Worst update? It’s just an update.
Those who adapt to change and use it to their advantage will win and have fun. Those who shivel and whine will remain victims in their own mind because they are in the exact same game as the winners, except they’re losing.
I hope you all have fun playing!

I ran Silverwastes on my level 17 ranger and got silver on just about 90% of the events. I’m not buying the afker’s with pets aren’t getting the same credit with lv 80 pets.
But seriously if you want to spend all of your time worrying about what others are doing you’re not going to have any fun in the game. You’ll just wind up with high blood pressure and popped veins at an early age.
We all afk from time to time, no one is going to lose stacks of persistence by camping to select just to be courteous when they have to step away for a minute.

The watchwork pick is usually on there if you scroll down however they have put all 3 of the watchwork harvesting tools on sale for 1600 gems before so I would wait for that promo.
The one I wish they would sell more often is the royal terrace pass/airship pass which make rare appearances.

The South Korean version was cancelled because they couldn’t animate Gangham Style in Sync with Char or Sylvari and no one took the Elder Northern Whacko Dragon seriously.

just block
/15 charrs
I shouldn’t have to, that’s what I’ve been telling several people in this entire discussion.
the block option is not an excuse for bad behaviour.
Nor is the chat filter.
Nor is mute.
You’re not going to change human nature with mmo rules. Trolls have existed in some form since humans began communicating back in the stone age.
This game has 2 great ideas to minimize trolls in pvp/wvw though.
1. There’s no way to teabag or otherwise taunt a dead opponent other than /laugh.
2. (WvW specifically)You never know the identity of the other player because they remove them and substitute the server name.

You can only play 1 character at a time so why do you feel punished? You want rewards for toons sitting in Character select?
Take advantage of the next 75% off sale on the game and buy yourself 2 copies insteadof 1600 gems. This will solve the time gated issues and you’ll be getting the daily log in reward X3.
~Dr. Seuss
I totally agree, but everyone should, not just those who find a way around the system.
~Dr. Seuss
I know people will argue til their faces turn blue that it isnt possible, but it’s happening. And to the extent where :06s into the match their teams are buffed and in position to ambush. Same group of names for 3/4 matches and they never lose sight of each other as if they had voice comm.
~Dr. Seuss
you can’t expect to be able to do everything you want and get AP for it.
I know that’s obsurd to actually expect to have fun my way when I play this game. I should have consulted with you on how and where i am allowed to play.
~Dr. Seuss
This new event celebrating the Lunar New Year is focused solely around Arena PvP. Why weren’t there options for PvE and WvW included?
Inb4 anyone who would argue that it is an arena pvp event I would point out that there’s no way to get the daily done OR earn AP without participating in a Dragonball.
There’s a lot of us who dislike arena pvp in GW2 because it’s kind of like playing paper, rock, scissors when it comes to the RNG on which teammates you get.
~Dr. Seuss
If you look at the game like Anet does you will see the logic. more item = more bag space required = more revenue.
I’m betting that 20% of most player’s inventories are filled with items that will be useful one day so the more unique ingredients involved in crafting is pure profit for Anet.
~Dr. Seuss
If it’s 100% mutual between all involved and no one can use it to disrupt my game I don’t see an issue with it. However this isn’t possible because you can’t load 2 different combat mechanics without totally lagging out the zone.

On April 1st make all home cities open pvp with a 30 minute immunity once you’re killed so it doesn’t get out of hand. Would be really rude awakening to port in and get jumped by a roaming zerg lol…. imagine the surprise.

Since we’re Megaserver now how about they add the option for an Exile alignment. Renounce your server and join an Exile guild that is a wildcard in any WvW map
This would prevent the wannabe’s from flocking to the winning servers because most of the players who are hard core WvW could decide who they align themselves with.
~Dr. Seuss
False, mostly. You have to go to Lion’s Arch. Once you go click on a portal for WvW, the icon at the top unlocks including the keyboard shortcut. Once you go through the portal for Hearts of the Mist, and complete the tutorial, the icon at the top, including whatever shortcut you assign to it will unlock.
Thank you for this information.
It still doesn’t make sense to me that a new player would be given a quest that in order to complete they have to assume the tooltip saying “This unlocks at level #” is false and then have to search forums or seek information from other players.
There’s a problem here that in my opinion could turn away new players or at the very least discourage them.
~Dr. Seuss
No, you do not need to be level 18.
You can enter it at level 2.
You can actually enter PvP and WvW from level 2. You’re just not told about them until later on.
You can not enter WvW until level 18 and PvP until level 22. I visually verified this after this post. When you try to access them a mouseover tooltip pops up stating these levels are required. I’m assuming this applies to new accounts only and is not applicable if you have a higher level toon on your account.
My point is that the new players are encouraged to participate in these events by a daily quest pop up. Regardless of how many other players think a new player should and shouldn’t enjoy their game experience the fact remains that a new player is given a task they can not complete.
I would prefer the new players be given encouragement to play in areas that they actually can complete.

I took advantage of the sale this weekend and bout a copy of the game for a family member. Upon starting a new toon they got through their beginning story line and went into town.
On a level 3 toon they had 3 options for the daily achievements. Maguuma harvesting, PvP kill and WvW land claim. Both the WvW and PvP quests that were offered were not completable because they had to be level 18 to access PvP/WvW.
I was under the impression that new players were given scaled down versions of the regular dailys but had no idea that they would be given quests they could not have possibly completed.
Can anyone explain to me the logic of giving a quest to a player who is on their first day in the game that they have zero chance of completing? Doesn’t this seem as if it would discourage new players and create frustration?
~Dr. Seuss
I get a pile of scramble when I try to access the link on the GW2 website to purchase the Digital Deluxe game. Is anyone else having this issue? I’m imagining it’s bad timing considering they just announced the sale today
P.S> If it’s because of my ad blockers I think they’re going to find a lot of people that can’t access the page today. All im using is chrome with ABP and DisconMe

WTF have they done to that game after i left when Rok was the latest expansion ?
I just saw a while ago that with level 95 characters now had 900.000 HPs .. while i with
level 80 hat 12.000 at that time.
Yeah our Main Tank has 2.7mil HP lol.. the numbers are insane now

GW2 is the only game I’ve seen where critical chance can approach 100%
every champion in league of legends can hit ~90%, one champion has double critical chance so he can reach cap with a lot less investment in to his build
EQ2 soft cap on critical chance is 1400%
GW2 is the only game I’ve seen where critical damage exceeds 200% of base damage
critical strikes in league do 200% damage unless you buy an item which boosts it to 250% base[/quote]
EQ2 base damage 839 after modifiers is 2,500,000
GW2 is the only game I’ve seen where a temporary damage buff (Might, in this case) could/can approach the base damage of a max level character (Note: that’s the buff benefit by itself, not factoring in the synergistic benefits of critical chance/damage)
i’m pretty sure like every single game ever has builds where you can wildly exceed the base damage of a character with buffs. In league you can like double, triple, quadruple (etc.) your damage stats through damage buffs by items. baron buff used to give 40 attack damage/40 ability power which is like half of your base attack damage and I can’t remember how much the ability power is because I forgot lol
EQ2 Damage output with temporary buffs can reach up to 35,000,000 damage per second average
maybe you just need to play some more games
Seriously QFE, GW2 is probably one of the lowest dps games i’ve played and the builds are simple.

I’m usually critical of Anet and the new content but I can’t find anything to complain about in The Point of No Return. Fun and challenging content that so far has proven to be seamless and provides some great rewards (especially the carpace BP finally!).
Let the trolls rage on about thisorthat all they want, you have a very happy customer right here and I don’t think i am alone.
~Dr. Seuss
From my past experience in other games when this type of consolidation has happened one of the game support sites (ie. Dulfy, Wiki etc) will repost the archived forums.
Just the massive amount of web hits it would generate alone would be a goldmine for a hosting site.
~Dr. Seuss
I’m told what and where. Being able to play as you want where you want and get rewarded is better than being told where to play to get rewarded.
Unfortunately the development team has disagreed with this sentiment for a very long time. Going back as far as requiring WvW mapping as part of the 100% map completion so you can earn an ingredient to make a weapon with zero effectiveness in WvW and as recently as requiring many of us who despise running fractals to run them if we wanted Mawdry this game has had an ongoing righteousness about telling players they cannot play where and when they want.
~Dr. Seuss
Upgrading to the i7 4790k was hardly any boost with my older gtx650ti gpu, but when I put a gtx780ti it was a HUGE boost.
I had some DC issues early on and during my communications with Anet tech I was told that having your game stored in it’s own folder directly on the C: drive (ie. C:/Games/Guild Wars 2) improves the frame rates.
I tried this and moved my GW2 folder to it’s own folder and ran a repair through the launcher and it improved not only my FPS but also since doing this I have run Teq and Karka in full zones on the highest graphics and can barely detect any lag whatsoever.
~Dr. Seuss
TL:DR should be the name of that article.
The loot is horrible most of the time because of the RNG but occasionally it will surprise you with something nice.
If you take away the grind and add a goal to earn elitist items instead of farming or relying on RNG you lessen the value and desirability of them.
~Dr. Seuss
would be nice would be if they added a few more things there, such as:
- personal banker
- crafting stations
- merchant
- BLTC agent
These exist already
~Dr. Seuss
I think the time for GW2 to capitalize on this is now. When will we get raiding content and possible guild halls (not player housing).
I came from Everquest 2 to GW2 and I can definitely say that there are HUGE downsides to player housing and guild halls.
Guild Halls narrow the time you spend out in the open world meeting and playing with new players and most of the time there are players who just want to sit inside of them and complain about the game all day.
Housing even narrows down the amount of players in the open world by basically becoming a personal guild hall shielding you from the entire community and isolating players on an individual level.
A lot of players play MMO’s because they have a Specific Social Phobia and the ability to end any social interaction is just one click away. That being the case by nature allowing isolationism to a Massively Multiplayer game contradicts the game structure itself and will eventually degrade the experience for all players.
~Dr. Seuss
Business as Usual: Spend 1 hour afk at the TP.
Four Letter Generator: Do the Winterfest jumping puzzle til all 4 letter words are used
Are you insane?: Try to form a Fractal group in LFG.
Jumanji: Join the entire playerbase trying to get 1 hit in on any event in the same zone.
Waste of Time: Make one post in any Feedback thread.
Make Mark Mad: Necropost any qualifying thread.
~Dr. Seuss
If I’d change one thing about the PVE dailies, it’d be to remove fractal and make it dungeon instead.
I noticed yesterday that fractals were one of the daily choices and there was 1 person worldwide trying to form a group in LFG for a couple hours. I really hope Anet takes notice of this because only about 2% of my guildies still do them and I can confidently say that none of them enjoy fractals.
Combined with the fact that the Mawdrey item forced many players into fractals i think there’s even a resentment about the whole grind involved in doing them and it didn’t help that for quite a long time the leader could DC or quit and every other player in the group would lose hours of progress.
The whole fractal system deserves a second look.
~Dr. Seuss
Still loving the new achievement system but a few more thoughts here:
If fractals xx-xx is going to be listed one day i think a specific dungeon should also be given as a possibility. There are a lot of players who refuse to run fractals and this would even the opportunity.
If you’re going to have “5 events in <insert zone>” as one of the achievements then <insert zone> should have the spawn rate for events increased OR have a 2 minute count down timer locally until the event begins. Too many players are missing the events and there’s starting to be a lot of jerks who spam incorrect WP’s just to be mean.
~Dr. Seuss
I like the new daily system but Anet needs to REALLY take a look at what qualifies as completing the daily boss credit. Twice now i’ve taken a level 25 ele to a boss and switched to healing since a lot were dying and I didn’t get credit for the daily achievement.
Both times i received a rare chest and loot from the ground spawn chest so I know it recognized my participation but if the game is leaning more towards co-op play it needs to be adjusted to grant rewards for cooperating with other players.
~Dr. Seuss
Good: The event fiasco that can only be known as “The Amber keep chest farm”.
Bad: The killing of Scarlet which will prevent any kind of future Aetherblade invasion (especially another LA invasion)
The Ugly: The distribution of the Spring WvW tourney rewards and ensuing months of forum flames.

Ok, so I was looking at the Wintersday skins and I accidently double clicked on the axe and somehow it consumed my claim ticket from my bank (not my inventory) and sold me the skin.
I didn’t want this, in fact I intentionally banked my claim ticket prior to going to the merchant so I couldn’t accidently buy it. I have a medical issue that makes my hands shake so double clicking can happen, I plan ahead for this.
So forum gurus… is it worth filing a ticket to try to get Anet to reverse the transaction or should I just choke on it and move on based on your past experiences?
~Dr. Seuss
I love the changes to the dailies. My whole reason for doing them up until this point was to get laurels to make ascended armor. I have 7 characters now in ascended armor/weapons and 2 legendary weapons. I’ll be the first to admit that I work a well paying job and can afford to buy/sell gems in game to pay for the crafting mats so up until now the only thing dictating when and where I HAD to play was the old daily in order to earn laurels.
The AP system in GW2 pales in comparison to almost every other game out there and it boils down to basically a couple gold, a couple free gems and some armor skins (some players seem to think it establishes some form of elitist rank). I see my fellow guildies out there with 20k+ AP and I have to wonder when they have had time to actually go out and enjoy the game.
Good call Anet, the ones who want to earn AP can do so in the manner they wish now and those of us who could care less still get the laurels for just logging in each day.
~Dr. Seuss
Can someone for Anet confirm this? That’s is RNG?
I just killed 4 champs, trying new and old devices and all I got were the old ones.
you’re seriously asking if RNGW2 can confirm they made these rng?

Very farmable event if you have people stripping and spamming heals.

There are no “servers” as we knew them before. It’s not possible to do any kind of “call to arms” or rally your server population because of megaservers. It’s even become commonplace to be fighting against your own guildmates in EB while talking to them in Teamspeak.
Population will dictate the winners of any future tournaments and right now BG has it in the bag.
