I had 2 mastery points and could not figure a way to spend both of them, I was able to spend 1 in gliding and that activated my xp bar towards training but the second was either useless or needed some insight into hieroglyphics to learn how to use it. (Unless i wanted to go fractals or craft a legendary precursor)
Extremely unfriendly interface which i’m sure will be easy once it is explained and used for a while.
Just seems like some of the above ideas would be better.

*Edit I’m still not able to join any server, but if this many players say they are still able to reroll i’m going to look for other causes. Strange though that 5 of us have the same issue.

Well it’s not like you have 8 other Professions to pick from or anything…
7 actually, the ranger has 1 pet and no pet swap so severe handicap when played correctly.

This is kind of a handicap, any way to fix it Anet?

The hilarious thing is that Bloodtide isn’t the best place by far to do the maize farm, there’s 5 or 6 other places that are almost free of casual traffic and respawn much faster at a perfect timed interval.
These guys in Bloodtide are noobs who probably do it just for the chance to rage at people.
As for the legitimacy of maize farming:

And what then? What happens when the devs start meddling too much with the trading post?
Not to mention the fact that we already KNOW that they are doing something about it, which is shown in the blog posted in this very thread.
Would be as simple as adding a forge recipe with 4 other rare materials. The market would flood til it balances and the greedy would be left holding the bag if they don’t sell out.
I’m not advocating this for any other of the harder to find mats, but it does make one wonder when Immobulus sells for more than 18 of the 21 legendaries.

Buy them from the TP.
Fun fact: there are ~310 giant eyes on the TP
And 1 person is selling 182 of them. So I would say it’s being a little manipulated.

Farm SW til you’re about to cry, take a break and sell your spoils. Buy Giant Eyes from tp.
Fixed.

Wouldn’t it be cool if there were a rebuilding merchant in Lion’s arch who needed Dragonite to build the new fortification walls super strong and was willing to trade a bag of random goods in exchange for XX amount of Dragonite?

fyi, uninstalling IE can result in some programs not functioning properly. Like how GW2 uses CoherentUI, some programs use IE.
And installing IE opens the door to a multitude of malware that would more than negate any bonuses you may gain from having the program. I’ve cleared my cache and done just about everything else I can think of and it just won’t work with FF or Chrome.
The workaround i’m going to have to use is my old 32bit dell laptop with IE factory installed.
It’s a shame that Anet would design a page that can’t be viewed if the user elects to have a more rigid level of protection against spyware but I guess it’s just a sign of the times.

I’m trying to buy a copy of the game for a friend but when I go to the purchase page on the website all I see is this. I’m using Chrome with Privacy badger and ABP but i’m running into the same issue with Firefox. There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell im installing IE so is there a work around to see this webpage?

Questions about regional/national eligibility have arisen in the past, so we have included an article in our Knowledge Base to address such questions: https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/28147436-Contests-and-Tournaments
It would be wonderful to be able to offer this contest is all areas of the world, but unfortunately, as explained, that simply is not something that we are able to do.
That means Texas is excluded as well?

They added these new abilities as part of the new expansion instead of raising the level cap and outdating everyones gear. If they had instead raised the cap to level 90 but those who didn’t buy the xpac remained at level 80 would you still complain about the higher level characters having an advantage?
Mmorpg have always been about keeping up with the Joneses, if you choose not to keep up then you know why the other guy is beating you and you know how to solve the issue.

It really doesn’t matter to me who stress tests the new WvW content, but I find it amusing that only very seasoned players are going to be involved in “stressing” it. That eliminates dead weight, seige trolls, daily achievement guests and uplevels.
Well I guess the car companies hire professional drivers on closed courses to test their product so why wouldnt it work here?

That’s why I went with the Airship

First: good idea, supported.
Second, just while we’re at it… I’d like to have a few pieces of information about the guy who welcomes me every time i log in by kicking my cute grey asuran behind 10m through the air.
The dreaded… Legendary Royal Terrace Greeter. Whose name shall henceforth not be uttered anymore.
For a start,
- which stocks did he invest in?
- where does he sleep?
- where does his wife work?
- where do his children play?
^^^This X 1000 ^^^
This “greeter” bouncer guy deserves to have someone sneak into his hallway at night and unscrew the lightbulb after spreading a bunch of Legos on the carpet!

SW population is a lot lower than it has been during the lats week and I haven’t seen anyone linking portals they’ve looted today. Did they remove them already because all I can find is “for a limited time” as to the event schedule.

55 hrs into the grind it dropped in the bonus chest for escorting supply from Red to Amber, My wife got hers after about 30hrs from a random devourer she killed south of Indigo.
They’re out there but for those of us who are hated by the RNG you really have to put the time in. On the bright side I got about 225 shovels and 5k crests so i’m off to get even more dragonite I will never need!

I think it all gets lost in 180+ replies. People who embrace change are a lot happier and regardless of how the add the new abilities in the new xpac everyone will be starting on from the same place. You’re going to be starting a new profession so to speak so don’t be lazy and want to have it all on day one or you’re going to get left in the dust.
If you actually think about it there’s a lot of easy skill points that are going to become something else and those of us who are getting as many as possible before the xpac hits are either going to have a reserve of augur, philos etc. or are going to have a ton of MF conversion.

I’m trying to determine if the beta participants are predetermined, and going to Silverwastes is an indicator of their activity (they almost immediately get portal drops).
I kept track of my time, 55 hours of running every event I could in SW including 41 sucessful VW events and it finally dropped for me escorting supply to Amber keep in the bonus chest. RNG is a kitten but eventually i think that most of the players who stick it out and put the effort have a very good chance at getting one.
Others would rather come here and snivel because it’s easier to claim conspiracy or broken RNG than it is to do the grind.

It guarantees that people who grind a lot get invited.
Absolutely not true.
~Dr. Seuss
I’ve got almost 15 hours of fully buffed grinding in SW and i’ve seen about 6 or so pinged during that time. All of my zones were full zones and sucessful against VW so figure player cap*40 event avg*15 zones (i’m being generous).
Then divide by 12 guessing half the players didn’t ping.
Not worth grinding anymore because it seems like the ONLY players who are getting them are the ones who just log in and don’t have to experience the rnghtmare.
To me though if I were a gaming company and truly wanted beta testers who are going to go the distance I could come up with some kind of way to earn these portals through sheer persistence.

I wonder what’s the point of tomes then, if you already have the maximum numbers of characters or simply don’t want to create another one.
They make a lovely conversation peice for dinner gatherings and are extremely good paperweights. If you collect enough of them you can create your own pile to stand on while fighting MKII Golem

Every day, 24 hours per day for the last month there has been 1 person on the airship with the “Super Banana” mini. It’s cute at first but now it’s just plain torture every time I zone in to use the bank or BLTP.
There has to be a way to ignore or block pets noises without completely shutting out the rest of the game npc sound but I haven’t found it.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here’s why you shouldn’t expect a toggle off option…when someone pranks you on April Fool’s Day do you get the option to opt out of it? No, so why should anyone expect to get the option to opt-out of A.nets April Fool’s Day joke on all of the players?
You do get the option to sock them in the nose if they persist with it for 24 hours though, and the people who wanted the option paid for the game an an entertainment resource. Not as a point of aggravation.
I liked the mode because it made for a nice break from the normal but after a few hours I had to stop playing because it was just too much. No big deal to me because I have several other games I play but I can understand why so many were irked about losing their game time while the fanboys had a field day on them in forums every time one complained.
~Dr. Seuss
I’m offended by people being offended at offended people. Really you all just insensitive towards insensitive players and you should all just stop it!
~Dr. Seuss
I would love to know the actual number of players who carried out their threat to submit a ticket for graphics issues over this. I’m guessing it’s the vocal minority because the fanboys are winning the debate threads but it would still be interesting to know.

What is hilarious is seeing players in this game mashing their 13 buttons and pretending to be elite. There’s nothing hard about GW2 and there isn’t supposed to be so whether or not you’re running dungeons or open world it all boils down to how many players are just sitting there on auto attack and how many are actually hitting all 13 buttons.
~Dr. Seuss
I was happy with the graphical detail and story depth, HOT seems like it’s heading in the right direction.
- No crashing or lag issues happened.
- Mushroom mastery never worked for me, not sure if this was intentional.
- Blowtorching the 50 Tendrils was fun but anyone who says they got 100 on the subsequent quest is a liar.
- “Glider deployment lag” Is a term we will be hearing A LOT about if it’s not fixed. Especially with the deployment being directly responsible with how far you can travel.
- Revenant class was fun but it needs some form of swiftness.
- 1.08 Lord of Destruction flashbacks all day long. There needs to be a way to reset mastery points, if there is one already I missed it and I looked for over 20 minutes.
Good Job Anet im really looking forward to playing this expansion in the near future!
