Hit ESC or click “Skip” w/e but there’s no reason to remove it for everyone just because some farmers are tired of clicking a button.
Anyone who was there for the Scarlet invasion should agree it’s a nice tribute to the rebuilt city and personally I enjoy watching it.

HoT is a pain in the bugged backside, the game developers are ignoring most valid concerns from theplayers and it’s torture sometimes to just find an active Meta. XP has been nerfed from most of the mobs and mastery points require you do spend hours doing things you have zero interest in doing.
That said, I would buy it again knowing all of this beforehand because the things that actually work can be fun and it’s a nice break from the same old boring bosses we’ve been choking on for 2 years.
Besides, you can’t complain in forums about it until you buy it and complaining seems to be one of the more popular activities included in this expansion
~Dr. Seuss
Air vents didn’t work for me on the first round and didn’t work for my partner after Brahm was defeated and when we retried the fight the ground around the rift disappeared making it impossible to open it once we got Rytlock’s health down.
I understand why someone thought this was a good idea for a fight but if you’re going to throw this many curveballs at us you should at least give us a bat. This fight isn’t hard it’s just frustrating and poorly implemented.
3) which then leads to another bug. when he summons rytlock, mordremoth drops to 25% health and activates the final phase, with rytlock still chasing you. i’ve had it happen to me before with caithe as well.
Almost sounds better than doing the fight in slo motion the way they thought they made it.

The shatterer encasing crystal isn’t what I’d call an example of RNG. It’s an example of horrible execution and should be changed. Unless there’s someplace you stand that guarantees it, that’s just bad planning on the part of the devs.
They did something with this update to make it much easier. Other than making sure you don’t zone to Blazeridge until 7 minutes after the pre’s start to ensure a low population you can now also group with other players who are after the update and if one of you gets it, the whole group gets the update.
Before this change I tried over 40 times with no luck but got it the first try once I grouped up.

I’m saying that for those guilds that are using GW2 efficiency as a tool – the people that would be offended by this screening process do not matter because they most likely wouldn’t have made suitable candidates anyway.
Is it clearer now?
It’s the bigger picture. Content that requires this kind of “screening” has no place in a game with a sloppy UI, slow combat mechanics and a 90% casual playerbase that’s limited to 12-15 buttons to click.
It’s like adding live fire and barbed wire to an apple dunking contest.
~Dr. Seuss
When I crafted The Legend it probably would have been a lot easier to sell the materials and buy it off the BLTP but I was in the unique position of having saved up tons of every ascended material over time from gathering and time gating. The mark-up from selling 150 elonian more than paid for the commons needed and the actual quest for the collectables was fun (except for the Shatterer).
As prices drop and fluctuate over time it’s not beyond the reach of a dedicated player to gather the necessary components although it might be more profitable to sell them and take the short route. The point is it’s now up to the player to decide which path to take to their legendary and not up to RNG alone.
The most difficult hurdle now in making any Legendary isn’t the precursor anymore, it’s collecting 500 dungeon tokens from a specific dungeon because NO ONE is running them anymore post nerf.
~Dr. Seuss
I was searching for weapons for my Druid on the BLTC tonight and I couldn’t find ANY staves. After a few minutes I realized that they weren’t showing up because it wasn’t showing my class as Druid but instead still listed me as Ranger and the search criteria I was using only showed weapons usable by my class.
Is there a work around for this that anyone knows of or do we have to manually change it to Any Class every time we do a search?
~Dr. Seuss
It saddens me to see this because I know what coming next from years of experience.
Friendly groups of players who have enjoyed playing together for years doing dungeons and fractals are now going to have to decide between playing with the people they like, and success in the raid zones.
The latter is going to be the choice for most players who won’t see the long term damage they’re doing to the years of community and friendship by excluding some of the lesser skilled players they have been carrying at times in the past.
When the first boss gets to the third phase of the fight and a player goes down it’s pretty much GG. While some may think this is the difficulty they have been wanting from GW2 please remember that a few months down the road when you’re guilded with jerks and there is zero sense of community that it’s because GW2 became another MMO that requires elitism instead of just playfully catering to it.
~Dr. Seuss
The Meta cannot be successful unless a certain number of players participate and if there’s 15 people farming nodes then that many less players are able to join the map.
I can understand why the raiders are in the zone because they have no other option but this farm has just turned into a summer camp for afk’ers.
~Dr. Seuss
I’ve been going there to farm hero points to fill out the elite specs on all my alts. Do you want those nerfed, too?
Why not correct game mechanics instead?
I’m editing my post because after reading the responses I think maybe there is a larger issue that should be addressed. Thanks everyone for the replies and the input!

(edited by Muusic.2967)
No. The largest amount of XP that you earn in DS is from killing mobs and not the events.
Specifically non event related mobs yes. And with disconnects and failed attempts this meta isn’t worth the time of day to me because even if I do manage to get into a successful map i’m left with an empty feeling after having just spent 20+ minutes with SOME BOZO SCREAMING ORDERS in map chat.
~Dr. Seuss
It’s possible they’re trying to pick up the massive Wildstar crowd with HoT, it’s a courageous strategy I hope it works out for them.
Wildstar was an experiment in just how extreme you could take elitism in an MMO. They went miles beyond Wow and even Everquest 2 in the level of absurdness players had to go just to be considered average. It failed miserably and rightly so because it wasn’t fun and i seriously doubt GW2 is after that kind of community.
The UI and combat mechanics of GW2 don’t allow for the level of control required for some of the new raid content and unless they start allowing custom mods only a few players are going to be consistently comfortable playing it. Unfortunately at the same time the incentive to run dungeons has also been removed so the only thing left is fractals.
~Dr. Seuss
Some must fight so that all may be free.
And yet you feel the need to bash someone for having a common question regarding how to level their masteries. What is your definition of “freedom” anyways, doing everything the way you think it should be done?
If a goal orientated person decides that they would like to be done with the leveling of their masteries it doesn’t effect your rate of leveling, change your game experience or even cost you any lost loot because they would be playing in area you don’t.
I don’t see a lot of spiteful posts against players who want to take their time leveling because they want to enjoy the content, but if there were i’m sure you would jump on that bandwagon also because at heart I think your objective is to criticize and belittle anyone you can to try to sound cool.
~Dr. Seuss
The most difficult obstacle to making a legendary weapon right now is finding any group to run the dungeons for the 500 currency to buy the required gift
The rest is just a time and gold sink if you haven’t been saving up materials.
~Dr. Seuss
They could rename all of the individual dungeon ones into newer and more used categories since no one uses them anymore
~Dr. Seuss
I am entitled
This should be the name of the expansion. When the smoke clears and all of the elitism and entitlement has settled we are going to have a seriously toxic community divided into the casuals and the extremists.
I really hope Anet wakes up and realizes soon that 90% of their player base has no interest in spending months getting slaughtered in failed meta events and raids that in the end give little or no rewards.
~Dr. Seuss
there are no ppl on the map now whatsoever, all are afk and waiting to get in the raid… just gotta love how hilarious your claims are now , the 5/ 8 ppl ruining the meta event
but as long as the spider farm was nerfed …
This is the poetic justice that has me giggling. Watch NOW Anet’s position is going to be “Organized meta events should use the lfg tool so raiders shouldn’t be an issue”.
~Dr. Seuss
By the end of the night you’ll have gotten a crap ton of loot and a guaranteed exotic armor piece, but you have to succeed.
And before anyone says it, succeeding at the meta events is not hard, just try to ensure that you are organized. Be smart about it.
You mean run stick figure graphics so you don’t crash and hope that someone else kills the other bosses in VB while you kill yours for a chance at a gold chest after spending 90 minutes killing mobs that don’t give xp or loot?
Maybe you’ll fill your inventory after 4 or 5 runs unless you found a spot I haven’t found yet. If you’re “smart” about it you’ll avoid Metas and farm mobs that actually give rewards.
~Dr. Seuss
it seems only 120 players in the entire game have ever achieved gold on this is completely obnoxious
I’m betting less than double that number have put a serious effort into getting gold because this event is NEVER up. Unless of course you want to spend 40 minutes soloing the events at Noble camp and not getting any xp or loot for doing them.
Gave up at Silver, waiting for nerf.

Anet said look for a possible patch this Tuesday.

Sources?
It’s one thing to have Joe Blow post what is supposedly a comment about the issue, it’s a whole other thing to actually have someone who matters come to GW2 official forums and post a response to the hundreds of players here.
~Dr. Seuss
So how is this still a thing?
Almost 600 posts from players who are blocked from completing their HoT specialization weapons, I don’t think the issue is going away any time soon.
~Dr. Seuss
Hello humans (and others)I’ve looted with a character theTeign Star Fragment
Thats the hardest one to get. As far as I know it scribes into your collection so you may want to try to combine them but if not I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t drop a second time for you. It will just take killing mobs at the HP forever to find out.
Good Luck… don’t be in any hurry btw. The last update in Bifrost 3 is still bugged and not obtainable unless you win the lottery.
~Dr. Seuss
If experience boosters worked on event xp instead of just kills and killstreak boosters added 10% per event until the potion expired (could be continued by using multiples) then I can see where it would be worth doing events instead of finding a quiet corner and grinding mobs.
I’m in agreement with most of the players in this thread though. I log in and decide where i’m going to play and it’s a decision between currency grinding, xp grinding or collection/mastery point/AP finding. At what point did these become mutually exclusive?
~Dr. Seuss
That’s a Monster purple hair bloom, he’s just saying WASSSSSAAAAAAAAAAPPPP!
~Dr. Seuss
This is still an issue, as long as anyone is spamming their blinds there’s no crystals at all. Even in a couple of zones i’ve tried with 30 or less people it’s not a possible achievement.
This is a 100% RNG update based on luck which is what I thought the original idea behind “earning” your precursor was going to prevent.
But once again I’ll point out the obvious fact that Anet doesn’t seem to respond to any concerns lately unless they involve access to the gemstore in some fashion.

Personally I think it’s simple as “This isn’t fun.” If you are having fun, you wouldn’t notice the time required. You know the old saying, “Time flies when you’re having fun!” I think we should ask, why isn’t working on masteries fun? Keep in mind, fun is subjective.
I completely disagree.
Last night I was having a lot of fun doing VB events and killing stuff for hours while working on my map completion and I was in a great mood until I looked down at my xp bar and realized I only got about 10% of an xp bar.
So off I went to kill mobs that give good xp in a remote corner of the zone and after an hour of mindless boring killing I had earned the other 90%.
My point is the reason everyone grinds their masteries is because doing the events just doesn’t do the job xp wise and any time doing those events is wasted if your goal is to get the mastery abilities that are going to get you further into the forest.
~Dr. Seuss
My co-lead got the core masteries all done ( well, half way to final legendary mastery) just by 99% mapping his rev.
Just to add another spice to the cooking pot.
The funny thing about this is if you already had map completion you got screwed because the last 6 months there wasn’t any kind of XP reward for a level 80. On top of that these same people can’t get map completion rewards because Anet refuses respond to the bug.
its only a chore if you make it one
its a chore.
Not to those who take their sweet time.
It’s not a chore, I enjoy it.
It’s a chore.

Do you guys actually think something like this is going to even rate a response or action? The CIA has better public communication skills than Anet does.
~Dr. Seuss
I was told to post here by a GM that I’m affected.
Why?
13K+ views and 10 pages of posts, still no response from Anet. It’s definitely not on the top of their “give-a-kitten” list.
~Dr. Seuss
I don’t think the Tyria PS gives repeated mastery points. They seem to be somewhat scarce in Tyria compared to HoT if you don’t like fractals or don’t run dungeons also. I have every class with Tyria Map Completion and when HoT launced I only got 28 points to spend.
AP to me has been an indicator of how much time a person spent doing stuff they HAD to do instead of stuff they WANTED to do for fun. Now it looks like Mastery points are going to follow suit.
~Dr. Seuss
Nice to see we’re back to insulting each other again. Please continue, let’s see this “award winning community” in action.
Agreed, it’s getting as toxic in the maps s it is here.
~Dr. Seuss
Generally people don’t change if you tell them nicely. They will only act when they are emotionally involved.
Calling you out on being bad is TEACHING you how to be a better player. So instead of being the victim and playing dumb you should own up to mistakes and just accept that someone else may know more than you do.
Is it a nice way of teaching? No. Are there other ways to help people? Of course! But to really help someone would be time consuming and you don’t even know if they care about your opinions. However when you start attacking someone they will immediately focus their attention and read intently. Now how much is filtered because of anger we don’t know but surely some of the ‘mean advice’ must seep through even if they don’t admit it.
Please don’t ever have children.
~Dr. Seuss
The OP has a pretty good point about map dynamics, if you move through any of the areas there’s a zillion mobs that don’t give xp waiting to gank you. But Pezz missed the most fun part of the Xpac completely when he left out the fun of making 200% participation in an event and having the boss at 5% and POOF “send report to arenanet” appears instead of the game!
This combined with the fact that hundreds of players who had 100% Tyria map completion are being completely ignored by Anet when they complain about not getting rewards in the xpac even though it’s blocking them from any specialization weapons.
GG Anet….. you can do better.
~Dr. Seuss
This is obviously a problem that is not a priority with Anet. Surprising though considering how many people cannot get their specialization weapons because of it.
A response or update would be nice at this point
~Dr. Seuss
It’s been a while now Anet, and we’ve been patient but the bug that prevents players who had Tyria Map Completion from getting the HoT map rewards is a roadblock to specialization weapons and a pretty crappy way to reward people who took the time to complete the content.
This should be a priority, period. Not something that takes a ticket submission and a long wait through form responses.

I’ve checked every vendor in Dry Top, some guildies said they have bought this insignia from them but it just isn’t showing up on their lists. Any clues?

I would rather fight a Champ frog sniper than a Veteran Smokescale, the NPC’s and noobs zerg them and keep them inside their immunity while you have to sit there and wait til it kills all of them before you can begin kiting it.
