The tickets were wasted the moment they dropped as I said in my original post. The only change (if there is one) is that everyone has an increased chance to get the rarer items towards the end of the event. As the previous poster said “it’s a double edged sword” but it also gives players an extra incentive to keep attending these limited time events.

I kind of like the idea that the hoarders who inflate the prices get caught with the short stick at some point. If you’re going by the TP to try to determine the drop rate you may want to consider there’s other factors involved that limit the amount of event items for sale.

Also as far as I have always understood the mechanics of the game the loot in a box is determined at the time it drops and not influenced by time gated factors such as a patch or a magic find buff nor by the level of the character opening it. If it were you would have a lot of people opening bags earned on a high level with a lower level toon to access the more valuable salvage components.

I just wish they would hurry up and rebuild Lion’s Arch so a Risen version of Scarlet a can invade again!

I’ll eat a little crow and admit my scepticism was misplaced when I doubted the fix would work in todays patch. Thank you for finally getting these tournament rewards out in what seems like a well working system.

The word “kitten” has been submitted for consideration to the Urban Dictionary. Based on what KarateKid posted i figured it couldn’t hurt

Thanks for the clarification on this, don’t think it’s something to put in the urban dictionary but it does have an interesting origin.

Specifically related to this game in so far as I have seen it used the term “Kitten” seems to have become a GW2 exclusive slang word. Not knowing the origins or real definition of the word I am wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to it’s meaning and possibly how it became to be used.

The word does not exist in the urban dictionary and I am preparing to submit it for consideration so any input would be greatly appreciated in order to clarify the definition and it’s specific relation to GW2 forums.

I feel this post is on topic with this game because I have only found it in GW2 forums however if it is against the TOS to post this request please accept my apology in advance.

I hate to be a cynic, but until I see this work i’m going to reserve explanations.

Throwing out a suggestion that these be modified to give out a one time use item instead of click to use due to the large increase of players deploying them on Quest NPC’s, Keep doors and high use Merchants.

I realize you can get rid of it by simply logging out but when you’re in a zone on mega or eotm you are probably giving up your chance to return to that zone by doing so.

It’s a cute idea but I don’t think it was intended to be used as yet another trolling option for those who love to diminsh their fellow players gameplay experience.

This particular area (Isle of Janthir Borderlands) has the Garrison, the Keep and one Tower that are perpetually red. I check it daily and have never observed a change.

Not sure what server you’re on but the longest i’ve seen in recent history to go through all 3 colors is 7 weeks. If it hasnt happened in that amount of time then you’re due.

This is one of the oldest debates in map completion and I wouldn’t expect it to change any time soon, but if you’re feeling really fiesty maybe you could talk your map hoppers into taking that keep in exchange for some scouting time

So they havent been able to look in to the issue untill yesterday and all of you crying for an update are being just a little obsurd. I would rather them work on the fix, At least give them the oppertunity to fix it while keeping a realistic expectation of work schedules.

The season ended on 5/30, since then they have given 2 vague responses which is close to what happened in season 1. There’s still a lot of S1 players who didn’t get their rewards so I can understand why Anet’s definition of a “realistic expectation” has most players a little unhappy.

I’m cool however it’s going to turn out because Anet has made it plain their priorities lie in the gemstore and living stories and to expect different would be “unrealistic”.

The serial key trumps ANY protections you have on the account and if the hackers get a hold of it the only way you are ever going to be secure is to ask for a new one.

I had this exact situation happen with my wife’s account and it took weeks to get it fixed. One it was fixed though a new problem came up about 2 weeks later when the stolen credit card that the hackers used to buy gems while on her account got charged back and now she’s been banned for that lol.

Bottom line is that it’s going to be a LONG road back to account stability and knowing what you know now is it worth the time versus just buying another account?

The infraction distribution system is currently bugged but they have a lead and are working on a resolution. Please keep positive with your posts while they take the necessary time to ensure the proper infractions are given out and be sure to monitor this thread for further updates!

An “Exiled” type 4th opponent on the map would toss in an element that would keep everyone on their toes and also give each player from each server the option for a locked period of time to just go rogue and group with any other rogues in WvW. But in it’s current state the forums wouldn’t allow these players to find each other

Doesn’t work, and as of todays patch the 2014 Spring Tournament was moved to historical so it’s my understanding that nothing you do in game can change it.

It’s almost comical though that this is the exact problem they had in season 1. I truly believe they tried to fix the issue it’s just that the people assigned to the task aren’t up to the job if they have failed twice.

It’s because of WvW Season 2. Matches are determined by the amounts of points your server has. Points are scored 5 for 1st 3 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd. So if your sever is losing constantly then your points are not accumulating high enough to move to the blue color.

Jade Quarry was Blue for the last 4 weeks of the tournament, someone is feeding you bad info. It’s just bad RNG as far as i can tell.

LOL I’m positive you had half the game mad at Anet for not getting rewards, now the other half who actually got their rewards (and in some cases the incorrect reward) gets their turn to show thier frustration.

I have never transfered servers from the time i started playing gw2 lauch day. I got the achievement but it tells me 2nd place, and on top of that i never got my reward chest. Yes i have put multiple tickets in thinking " Well maybe they didn’t get the first two " Please fix

Multiple Tickets tends to make them a little upset because it makes more work for them, one ticket should be fine

Potentially happen a second time??? Since the “underlying issue” hasn’t ever been solved do you think there’s a chance we could just work on the “quicker ways to get rewards out to people who are missing them” part?

Since 6/30 champions are only intermittently dropping (boxes/bags/pouches etc) in WvW and Pve. I’m doing more than my fair share of damage and i’m at the event from start to finish. This is happening on 2 of my level 80 toons that have always received boxes/chests from champ bosses.

I have an engineer thats more defensively specced that occasionally wont get credit due to the fact that i’m spending more time healing, buffing and rezzing so I know how to measure whether or not i’ve done enough damage to be entitled to a reward.

This is exceptionally annoying when it’s the last boss in Queens pavillion because you don’t get any credit for the Meta as well. If anyone else has noticed this change since yesterday please add your experiences so that maybe one day Anet might address the issue because in the long term this is gonna be a game killer.

I’m just happy that JQ isn’t FR in EotM for a 5th week

One thing i’m hoping changes is that we won’t have to be FR in EotM for a 5th week in a row.

Mid had DF about 75% of the time, Alb maybe 15% abd Tib the other 10%, Same thing would happen here, one dominant realm(server) would have control about 100% of the time considering Anet allows server transfers and DAoC didn’t.

Kind of annoying though that there isn’t an option to remove “trusted” devices from your GW2 account, I would also like to test my authenticator but have to take their word for it that it’s working.

It’s a karma train because FR is a joke and BL isn’t much better, OG has the numbers to dominate 80% of the maps and there’s no randomness to who gets assigned to which side each week.

SO whichever servers get lucky and has OG really doesn’t have anyone to fight because there’s almost no rewards for defending. Hence the 70-90man zerg mindlessly dominating the zone.

There are a few exceptions to this if you get lucky and get a commander who knows how to win outnumbered but that heavily relies on the zerg he has with him.

Wife is still unable to login to game or forums even though she got a response saying she should be able to. Please help.

I am able to log into my account fine on both of our computers.
When she tries to log into her account on either of our computers she gets error code 58:11:1:778
She is also still unable to log into forums.
She is able to log into her account on guildwars2.com
It cannot be an antivirus issue if my account works fine on her computer the issue manifests itself after giving the mobile authenticator code so it recognizes the account as having one attached.

Update: The latest response from support is asking for her to create a new ticket but does not specify which of the unresolved issues should be addressed.

Economics really doesn’t have anything to do with this game. Items are spawned randomly influencing the value of the currency, Botters mass farm in ways no normal player would and the TP is like having the NYSE without the SEC.

I am inagining that Anet probably has an entire team dedicated towards nothing but tweaking the dynamics to balance the economy.

Coordinated fighting is better suited to a game where well formed groups can meet an equal challenge.

I’ve spent 7 years raiding at end game in another MMO that has a very high expectation of coordination including quick voice communication as well as personal situational awareness.

Guild Wars 2 has a long way to go before that can be reached by it’s playerbase. The first thing that would have to go are the players that are not contributing to the fight and are actually a detriment to the success of the kill. This connot be done in the current format.

If the requirements for success are set this high then the requirements to participate should also be. The only working mechanic i have seen in game so far that would allow this is the dungeon grouping model but that also has it’s flaws and would be incredibly difficult to manage on a meta level.

I can honestly say in my opinion that while I love this game it is not ready in it’s current state to have the zerg removed in the place of some magical meta coordination that’s somehow going to appear.

McKeone suggestion is very good to the extent of limiting the number of players but it still doesn’t solve the issue of an upleveled undergeared bunch of players being drawn into one of the areas beause the success of the total event relies on their performance.

The loot fest zerg isn’t the answer in the long term but it’s the only way i can see anyone devoting 2+ hours into clearing just the bronze phase because there are so many ways a player can better spend their time earning loot.

This is definitely not a vocal minority speaking up here, over 2 hours to do bronze last night because of all the dead uplevels that wouldn’t revive upscaling it and not 1 drop from any of the bosses.

This event is a ghost town now, you can even get better loot from the queensdale train.

From what i’ve seen this usually includes a breach of your email account associated with the account. The only way to contact account support is by submitting a ticket and I would alsogo into the deleted folder of your email account and use the option to recover deleted messages. If you have a compromise on your email I highly suggest you submit a ticket including a new email address to contact you at.

Best of luck to you in your recovery by the way, it’s not a fast process.

I was using the email verification which is great, requires confirmation of unknown logins from other locations, which I love.. but now I’m using the mobile authenticator which is also good, but now I dont know if any unknown log on attemps.. and not required to verify via email any more..

Is it not possible to use both security methods.. as I am considering removing the mobile authenticator so I can better see log on attempts made from other locations

+1 on this, my only complaint about the mobile authentication now is that you can’t test it to see if it’s working.

614846 – Answered today. Please ask your wife to submit a new ticket from a different, secure e-mail account.

Wife resubmitted ticket # 614846 from new email as you asked and also combined ticket 614846 with tickets # 623135 (to stop someone else from changing her email address) and #623216 (to change a stolen serial code being used to steal her account repeatedly). After changing her email she received an automated change of password followed by a GM responding that ticket # “625213” along with the original ticket would be escalated for further investigation??? “625213” is not one of her tickets … She’s locked out of her account waiting for a restore. And the final question being can she get a new serial code to end this madness.

I suggest also you go to your deleted folder and recover the deleted to see if they aren’t still accessing your account somehow. If they found the original reciept for the game you’re in for a long haul getting your account back

If the final benefit in your GW1 account was being banned, why would you want to merge it with your GW2 account? I’m actually going to give Anet a lot of credit for not just carrying over the ban at your own request.

The problem is with our case when they originally hacked the email account they got a copy of the serial key. Whenever we get the account back the hackers just snatch it right back by somehow changing the associated email account (Im assuming using the serial key they stole).

We told them when the account was restored the first time this was an issue and asked for a new key but that request has never been addressed by Anet. They just keep asking us to secure our email and now we’ve been wiped clean again and are back to “escalated ticket” status for restoration.

Kinda frustrating that they assume our email is still insecure and won’t even address the real issue of the stolen key. Until that gets fixed the account will never be secure.

While I truly believe there has not been any compromise of data at Anet, there is a valid argument for the timing of the Asian release with what appears to be an increase in compromised accounts.

No one has even attempted to demonstrate a non-racist connection between the two. OMG! The hackers must be Chinese! No one in America can hack a computer!

The increase in compromised accounts is due to two things:

First, Anet has been actively banning goldsellers. They ban in waves, remember, and when the stolen accounts they are using get taken away, they need new ones to use.

Second, a lot of players came back last month because of the changes to the game in the last update. Some of those returning players found out they have been hacked while they were not playing.

It has nothing to do with legitimate players in China.

Since you quoted me i’ll reply. In no way can anything I posted be construed as racist.

I pointed out the fact that there is a valid argument for the timing of the Asian release and what seems to be a rise in compromised accounts. This includes a hypothetical scenario where the contractor for the China release had access to US and EU account info and did not secure it properly (I.E. Sony 2011)

A recent compromise of a family members account originated in China however the final unauthorized access was made from California so it’s safe to assume that the hackers are not confined to a geographical location. And i’m not the one who is assuming the race of a person based solely on where they log in from.
