Suggestions:
- Make the icons last longer. Maybe double-click to turn on the device; double click again (or, hey, use the special action key) to make them disappear.
- Give us a way to make them more visible without being forced to find a wall or something of the right color.
- Have them spit out some useful chat text, such as “moa & devourer sensed — expect criticality in 10-30 minutes.”
I agree with these. I took me a lot of extra time just trying to find and decipher which mobs were shown because if you’re not zoomed in and facing downhill the render in the terrain.
I would also add that maybe the Shark population of Mt. Maelstrom should be significantly increased considering they are non agro.

2 different posts today about ecto gamblinig today so far and the value continues to drop on the TP. I’m thinking plans might not be working out for someone here lol.
~Dr. Seuss
Serious post? WHY would you salvage a precursor?
~Dr. Seuss
Gaile is one of the most valuable resources Anet has and cannot be replaced. I think of her almost as family considering all she has done to help my wife and I when we got hacked and to hear this pains me greatly.
Anet employees have my information and (use your imagination)(use your imagination again) I would like to offer my support and assistance.
NO ONE MESSES WITH OUR GAILE!

Borderline insulting? Ummm why should you be taken seriously right now?
I value your opinion so i’ll respond by saying don’t take me seriously if you don’t want to. It’s your choice. The point of my post was to illustrate the fact that when it comes to repeatable content there’s no reason to continue in this wonderful new zone unless you are doing it for pure aesthetics.
But as FrizzFreston pointed out, I might have overlooked a few things as well as the many others who pointed out to me that this is only the first chapter in the new LS>

Can always use the stuff to reset the stats on your trinkets. It’s basically legendary trinkets that way.
This is a solid point…. I didnt think of the fact that these trinkets are basically under the same mechanics that legendary weapons are as far as swapping stats if you farm tons.
Would still be cool if they had something like a BFF (Bloodstone Fen Fanatic) achievement for grinding because I wanna play this zone but the rewards just aren’t there atm

Maybe you would go because it is a beautifully designed zone, the events are amazing, and the mobs are an extreme challenge?
That is, because you enjoy playing there?
I enjoy playing in AB, TD and even VB but as an avid MMO player I want to work towards a bigger picture like I listed in my OP.
I’ll defer to my wise and noble friend Inculpatus to add his 2 cents because i’m extremely interested to know his/her thoughts on this.
~Dr. Seuss
This is a beautifully designed zone, the events are amazing and the mobs are an extreme challenge.
BUT…. Why would I want to go into this zone once I have all of my aerial skills, portal and home instance node? I have more ascended trinkets than I can ever use even with 12 lev 80 toons and to ask me to chop on nodes and do repeatable events that pay less than I can make in AB or TD is borderline insulting.
In DS/TD we had “Ex Mechina” and in AB we had "Illuminated’ as rewards for weeks of effort. In Bloodstone Fen we have no major achievements to work towards and it’s kind of depressing.
Hats off to the Devs who made this zone but the people who added the achievements (or lack thereof) get a D minus.

I’ve been reading the WoW forum. They have great new content!!!
- complain about it on their bug forum? You’ll be sent to a thread in the general discussion forum to “say what you dislike about it.”
At least they actually respond somehow.

That’s not a problem though … I believe that’s the intent. If you want that XP to matter, you need to actively get the mastery points. It’s a way for Anet to encourage players to experience the game. If some XP is wasted in the process, so be it.
The problem with it is that for some of us it’s not that we don’t WANT go get the masteries, it’s a matter of not having the time to spend hours and hours building up obscene AR to get the fractal masteries or maybe we don’t have quite the special clique of friends to drag us through Raids and teach them to us. In my case I have been trying to finish the Aetherblade diving for my last point forever but due to the terrain at the top where you jump from it’s a completely blind jump.
The OP isn’t asking for the MP’s to be given to them, just that all of these reward boosts and XP tomes we get as rewards dozens of times a day don’t go to complete waste. We used to get spendable currency every time our xp bar rolled over based on efforts and boosts, now days even doing map completion is pointless after 1 toon because it wastes so much xp.

Shown here, where it should be during yesterdays disconnectfest I looted this page but it didnt record into achievements. I’m on the island where the page should be with CRTL held down and my journal open…. nothing to gather. End of the line for me until this gets fixed (see attached photo)

If you dont have a repair shortcut I would make one. Create a GW2 shortcut that reads
“C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -repair
Exactly as typed (except for your file location), run it and it should repair any problem files you have.

Not useful in the slightest.RNG is RNG and no amount of MF will change players having no good RNG.
Sadly, this.
Agreed, it’s more like a pacifier when you have a crying baby.

For the last couple of days I have been repeatedly falling through the world in several different zones. Last night I jumped off a high point in TD and instantly wound up dead under the map in Dragon’s Stand.
Updated all my drivers and ran a repair and the issue continues. I’ve seen several threads concerning issues with GW2 and Nvidia lately since they made it almost impossible to download fresh drivers without using their bloatware GeForce Experience program.
Is anyone else having these issues?
~Dr. Seuss
Foe the last few days i’ve been unable to purchase gems through my paypal , Im reading others have had this prob too . Anyone had any response to this about when it will be fixed ?
Are any of you all still having this issue? If so can you PM me your email? I was just able to buy gems with a new credit card in game so we will have to look at the individual accounts to figure out what is going on. But we are looking into it!
Seems as if quite a few have been helped so far but the issue per account. Good Luck!

Birthdays are another method to inspire you to purchase another character slot instead of re rolling. It’s always been this way and probably won’t ever change.

Just wanna say, bravo Anet! a zerg style raid mechanics (sort of) is what players need. =)

Had a lovely DC during the event. server lost it.
You and about half the zone crashed out, seems like this one is “bring-a-friend” to get you back on the map til they fix it.

I get a real laugh out of GW2 “raiders”. Compared to WOW, EQ2 and several other games “raiding” in this game is a trivial exercise of a small group of people fending for themselves in some form of egotistic frenzy. It’s the equivalent of winning a power scooter race versus opponents hobbling along with canes.
Still, that power scooter enables my guildmates to act and assume an air of supremacy that trickles down to erode the base of WHY I started playing GW2.
I want to achieve the highest level of rewards by playing MY way. If I don’t want to do fractals, raids or even dungeons I can still earn the best gear in the game through hard work.
This has now changed, Legendary backs are only available to people who suffer through months of fractals and legendary armor tied to raids is even worse.
Kitten you who say “Ltp” or “gitguud”. I’ve supported this game as much (if not more) as you have and all of a sudden (because I’m not in your special click) i’m excluded from top gear doesn’t sit well with me.
The MMO generation is here and alive in GW2, don’t chase it away by granting special rewards to those who can’t hang with the real raiding games and want to come here and pretend to be elite because they couldnt hack it in the raiding world.

Since log in rewards were implemented, I have never had one and I’ve logged in a lot since then. Mostly I get junk.
My wife and I plus my 2 Kids each have their own accounts and we have gotten several keys from the log in rewards.

Has ANet Forgotten the Casual Gamers
“Casual” is subjective but please remember the last 2 content additions also included the bandit bounties which are casual content that is actually a lot of fun!.
The greater problem i think they are not seeing is as they increase the difficulty of the raid content they divide the community into what I would call “Casuals” and Elitists" and to be honest it’s ripping apart some of the medium size guilds due to the “Clicks” of players who they refuse to allow into their raid parties solely based on the fact that they are unsure of a new comer’s experience.
~Dr. Seuss
I.C. I would agree with you except for the fact that the rampant distribution of Tomes of Knowledge makes leveling irrelevant and the fact that they condoned the CoF grind when all of the originals were released.
I don’t want to over complicate things though, maybe just a change to the mastery point system where when you complete the XP portion of a lower ability in the same category but don’t have the points to spend you could still be able to select the next tier and begin accruing xp towards it.
Due to physical limitations I don’t do well in fractals, raids, dungeons and special achievements in the LS storyline and it’s a much slower process for me to gain these points. I’ts irritating when I spend 30 mins fighting the executioner only to receive wasted xp as my reward.
~Dr. Seuss
I would be nice if these tomes of mastery XP did not auto consume for those of us who are still working on gaining mastery points. I’m currently 3 points short of buying my next teir and have completed all of the other mastery options and have been locked on xp for quite some time.
I would prefer to have them account bound so that I can save them for when I move into the next tier of my mastery.
Thanks!
~Dr. Seuss
If true? Yep just about time to find something else to do with my time and my money.
If you’re into MMO PvE there isn’t anything else except WOW, there’s a few games out there that will keep you entertained for a few weeks but long term they fail 10 times as hard as the top 2.
~Dr. Seuss
After a couple hour run through a zone i’m left with several bags full of mastercraft gear which I use to combine in the mystic forge. Then salvage or sell off the rares for a tidy profit. Also opening champ bags with a level 53 toon gets rid of the issue of unwanted bloodstone and salvages for more valuable materials.
I like the loot system as is, please don’t change it
~Dr. Seuss
Why the limit on the topic name length?
For the same reason you wouldn’t write the entire novel on the cover of the book.
~Dr. Seuss
Limiting what you can sell an item for on the TP based on how much you originally paid for it wouldn’t solve anything. More often it’s the conversion of an item to another that results in a profit (i.e. Salvaging rares for ectos) but that’s just one of hundreds of examples.
I would however like to see some kind of monitoring of the purchasing practices done by what I call “psychic” flippers. These are the ones that somehow know for a while before a game patch that there will be a sharp increase in the value of an inexpensive item and then slowly over the course of a week or so purchase large amounts slowly so the price doesn’t spike until the patch is released. I am seeing this becoming more common and I suspect their “psychic abilities” are somehow being assisted.
~Dr. Seuss
I’m definitely not having any trouble grabbing the ley energy now but as previous post says, it’s impossible to succeed the event now with the upscaling bullet proof golems and plethora of energy all over the place.
Ya might have turned up the throttle a TAD too much lol!
~Dr. Seuss
Go on a toon with perma-swiftness, run in circles around the coalescence like a crazy person spamming “F” while completely ignoring the agro mobs and you avg 3-4 per event. At this rate it should only take you approx 20 events to finish.
/end sarcasm
I’m hoping this is improved sooner than later, spending 5 hours standing around in Blazeridge for 10AP just isn’t going to be fun.
~Dr. Seuss
They don’t need to prove it. They only need to determine it. ArenaNet’s game, ArenaNet’s decision, whether it’s based off proof or judgement.

~Dr. Seuss
True but a lot of that is just terribads complaining about having to actually put in effort to play the game (jumping, “too hard” mobs).
Or the elitist mentality demonstrated by your comments which has increased 10 fold since the release of H.O.T. Once you drive away your “terribads” i’m sure the remaining dozen or so of you will have a very fun game.
~Dr. Seuss
The problem is, THERE ISN’T ONE!!!
Has anyone heard plans to add this to either the vendor or via achievement? This would be a wonderful addition to the row of the other types of chests from the other 3 HoT zones
~Dr. Seuss
I’m curious. Why does the server that has recently been stomped on repeatedly and suddenly becomes the leader (usually because “Commander X” joined them) do they feel the need to come into forums and start threads like these?
“What happened to <insert server name here>” threads should be assumed automatically to be nothing more than the latest incarnation of back of the pack zerglings needing an outlet to create an unhealthy environment.
~Dr. Seuss
The elitist requirements actually works as a reverse filter for me because I don’t really care to group with judgemental players who like the smell of their own farts.
I would rather finish a zone with lesser skilled players who find a way to work together rather than the elitists who spoil the fun by taking everything too seriously and always accusing someone else for causing the fails.
~Dr. Seuss
Actually, they did both. In addition to the “anytime” achievement, they added dungeon achievements to the daily rotation, but only occasionally, not every day.
I really think the daily is what’s going to keep people coming back to older dungeons as part of their routine, The repeatable is decent and also gives great rewards for much less effort but to a lot of the higher skilled players they will be able to solo and sell daily runs for a nice profit, and this will introduce newer players to them. All of which are good things when it comes to keeping the masses entertained between events and bug fixes!
~Dr. Seuss
THANK YOU Devs or who ever was responsible for adding the random dungeons to the daily tasks. A seriously nice move that I applaud loudly showing that you truly ARE in touch with your player base and recognized a part of the game that had died.
I actually am looking forward to doing some of the precursor quest lines now that dungeon tokens are obtainable.
For those of you who think the precursor quests are a gold sink maybe you should try harvesting your tail off for a couple months buy/farm the mats needed. No matter how ugly the Leg weapon is it’s will mean so much more to you earning it this way
~Dr. Seuss
Sadly it seems it will only be a April event.
Confirmed?
~Dr. Seuss
Random rolls on a guaranteed superior sigil would seriously influence the cost of them on the TP. The short term profit you would get from making new ones would be countered by the drop in exotic gear values and price of T6 mats.
It wouldn’t just be the value of one type of item that would change it would trickle down thru the entire economy because the materials that would increase in value are also used in many other aspects of the game.
GW2 has an insanely intelligent economist behind the scenes, if making them forgable was something that wouldn’t have a negative effect i’m sure it would have happened a long time ago.
~Dr. Seuss
I completed The Legend quest line and it wasn’t that costly for me since I had been saving up ascended materials. I have everything to make Bifrost now (EXCEPT) 500 Arah tokens and there is NEVER a group for that zone in the LFG tool. Every once and a while I find someone selling it but it’s been a slow grind so for now i’m still sitting on a precursor.
Inb4 someone says “Do the arah pvp track” I hate pvp and will never play it, i know this is my choice but it’s far too toxic in there for a newbie who doesn’t know the ropes and i have no interest in learning them.
~Dr. Seuss
Would be nice to see them do something to Dungeons that brought back players, they’re all mostly graveyards now days and finishing a legendary weapon is extremely difficult when it comes to obtaining the 500 tokens req for the ingredient.
~Dr. Seuss
It’s been a long time since we rushed into the dangerous expanse of Dry Top to rescue the Zephyrites from the Savage Lands and Inquest thieves and to date they have not even had as much as a picnic to show their gratitude!
Could we appoint a Pact representative to contact them and negotiate a festival in the near future? It’s been a long time!
~Dr. Seuss
A big part of the issue with Wildstar is that they focused on the hardcore players at max level. That left the more casuals with nothing new to do.
Now GW2 is following the same path. They are releasing new raid content which is of interest to a minority of the players, , and is mostly a once a week activity for most of those who actually do play it.
So, why is ANET going down this path? There is nothing wrong with adding raid wings. the problem is when it is the ONLY content being released.
QFE
The only reason I log in every day is for flax and freebies, i’ve done all of the HoT i can stomach and the old dungeons have been made irrelevant and impossible to find groups for. I’m not going to sit there and spam refresh on the LFG tool for the chance I might get into a sucessful HoT zone.
There’’s other games I play that still continue to focus on all types of players not just the vocal minority. I’m willing to bet an overwhelming majority of players have zero interest in raids because the game wasn’t developed to appeal to raiders.

GW2 has dungeons?
I just thought they had a bunch of empty LFG categories they should rename so the overland H.O.T. zones could use them!
