What would be interesting would be not only to have the current commander system: 100g and you get the blue dorito.

But to also have a drop much like the little voting ticket we had for Kiel and Evon that you could use to “vote” on commanders who were excellent. To prevent too much “spam voting” There are a couple things you could do to diminish it: Make the tickets worth money at the merchant, so you would have to choose to spend it to vote on another player being a good commander, and you could require a reason to be written in or checked on why you were voting for them. Impatience for writing, reading, and filling out forms would also diminish “spam votes”.

As a commander earned votes of the community, their commander tag would change from the blue to Gold, or Purple or Red….

You could also entrust community affirmed or approved commanders with more powers in events as the OP suggested.

It would be nice if citizens of a specific world were given priority for slots in events on their own world, and not be shoved to overflow due to guesting.

I would take it a step further and say that if I were prioritizing access I would give the next slot to anyone guesting from the lowest populated world.

I have had this happen on a few champions when I know I have dealt enough damage. Even stranger is the “disappearing” loot, where I see the sparkle for loot and when the killing a specific mob or completing a task ends the event, then ALL loot disappears with the mobs as the event ends.

I have had all kinds of loot go POOF as the event ends.

They did say that weapons were first on the agenda, with Armor down the road a bit later in the year. I fully expect that Jeweler is the same as Armor, and will be implemented later.

If you really want to know true map exploration frustration and pain, go back to Guild Wars 1 and uncover every pixel of the map in all 3 continents.

I have not had a wooden chest drop since the 3rd. Did they take these out of game? Has anyone else not had any wooden chests drop from mobs?

One of the most delightful things to me as a 7+ year GW1 player was when they introduced crafting of consumables, and that those consumables used NOT the high level mats but the low level mats. It was fun and profitable for lower levels and anyone really, to go out and get low level dust and bones.

I would love them to make SOME use of silk and thick leather sections, as it is now, they go to the merchant there are so many of them.

This is actually quite interesting. I am experiencing something similar with my characters. I have 8 that I created during the head start – at least I am very certain of this. Checking today their birthdays vary about 40 days or so. I have not used any kind of hair or makeover kit so that cannot explain the differences in birthdays.

The one thing that does vary between my characters are the date that I put them through the tutorial area so my theory is that the birthday somehow relates to that event.

I considered this as well to explain the discrepancy. All three were created, then left in the tutorial til I played them through.

Also, the one that has the birthday correct, was stuck in the first night loop in the tutiorial, when you could play the tutorial, but could not exit it.

That Elite Skills are not better than regular skills, they are, in fact worse, and useless for the most part. GW1 had wonderful elites that had low cooldown times, and were something you really wanted on your bar.

The overuse of CC by developers on their mobs.

That most mobs are just uber high armor and HP and do not have any nuance to them.

Auto slow when you are hit, and yet mobs are not slowed when hit.

Dungeons that have no nuance or puzzle to them but are merely high level uber mobs in great number thrown at you for long periods of time.

Waypoints and Armor repairs that nickle and dime you to death, and prevent you from easily and joyfully “gathering your party before venturing forth”.

Lore that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Anything that feels frustrating, tedious, or boring. I believe games should never have any of these three words associated with it.

The overuse of “soulbound” and “accountbound”.

Being punished for the sins of others.

I have closed my ticket with support after realizing they do not read anything I write.
I am confident I know what caused the issue even if support does not.
This is the same reason my account has never been fixed with regards to it having 3 email addresses. They just wear you down til you give up.

Its reminds me of talking to that girl on MAD TV.

Did you deposit collectibles? If you did, mini pets are considered collectible and it will be in your bank under the section for minis.

I have figured out the common denominator on the characters with dates which are wrong.

Each one was changed using a hairstyle kit. Now according to wiki these kits were not available til November, so no clue why each of these characters has Sept. 15 as creation date.

Knowing why they changed is half the battle. At least I know why and what caused it.

My characters frequently jump the exact opposite way they are facing, even when targeting a mob and using a skill that is supposed to teleport me or move me to that mob.

Mine are off by 15 days on two characters.

I have not deleted a character. I am not confused about when these characters were created.

I know exactly when I created them and your data is wrong.

The fact that you do not see that there is an issue with data that seems to have been changed or is in error says much about why there could still be other bugs that are issues after a full year of reporting bugs.

I have contacted support (as you can see from the first sentence of the original post) but I want to know why the dates are in ERROR.

I can post the emails from 8/25/12 and 8/31/12 where I speak about these two characters, a full TWO WEEKS before what you currently have as their creation date.

Today I am getting a lot of butter in bags from the Centaurs in Hiranthi Hinterlands.

When I get this bug, the only way out of the stuckage is to dodge roll away once. And yes it has been around since beta and is annoying.

I found support emails I had saved where I am speaking about the creation of the two characters whose creation dates have now been arbitrarily set for Sept 15, 2012 when they were created 8/25/2012

The date of the support emails are 8/25/2012 and 8/31/2012.

I am talking with support about the lock out fiasco that happened at launch, and detailing events of the lock out which included the names of characters I had created.

I have opened a support ticket on this, and received a canned response, I am posting this here in the hopes that the powers that be will read this and understand the issue, and fix it.

I bought the CE, I was in all the BWE, and I created three characters during the head start.

One character, the first one, has the correct character creation date, (the first day of head start) and has received her birthday present. (twice)

The other two I made during head start are showing that they were created 16 days later. This is not true and the creation of them is memorable, this is why I know they were NOT created 16 days after the head start.

One has my real name. When I was trying to create her, minutes after the launch, my name was taken, (Nalora) and the person who had it, upon finding out it was my real name, that I have had it for more than 56 years, and that it is also my account name, was kind enough to delete her character and after 24 hours when the name was released, I made Nalora.

The second one I made during head start was made the first day. I had used the name Meeps for my asuran during Beta, and was worried that it would be taken quickly after launch, and indeed within minutes of head start opening, it was taken. So I took Meepers. This character, as well is showing it was created 16 days AFTER head start.

My account has always had issues since the beginning, when I was locked out of my account.

During Beta I tried to change the email associated with my account and now there are not one….but THREE email accounts associated with my account. I get emails to all three when Arenanet sends out a mailing. I tried for 3 months to get support to fix this, but finally gave up out of frustration.

I DO want my character creation dates on the other two to be checked, and fixed.

One of my legacy name’s character creation dates is also in error, and shows up as 16 days after launch, when I know that it was actually LONGER, since I created her when we were given the three day warning that our legacy names were about to be released for use by others.

I have found the bag they are in changes each server reset.
Sometimes it is the bandits in Queensdale.
Sometimes it is the bandits in Kessex.
Sometimes the bags from Centaurs in Kessex.

I never have a problem keeping two stacks of butter in stock by going out and getting these bags.

Please please allow us to put the extra queen jennah birthday present mini’s in the forge for a chance on another mini.

I have been unable to play all day because of this error.

A year…and still the servers are junk.

I am wondering how much the original “lock out” of a great number of people during the first weeks of launch may have affected this issue.

I lost all of the “head start” when Arenanet was attacked by password hunting bots, and was locked out of my account for days. (Arenanet locked me out, I was never hacked, and support was so swamped my ticket took 11 days to be addressed)

I also had several bugs with various other “in game items” that I was supposed to receive. Many of my characters that I created on the first day had the “timed” bank golems and the timer began at character creation (they changed it later for the timer to start when the golem was actually first used) But because Arenanet locked me out of my account, most of my 1st day characters never got to use their “bank golems” because they had timed out by the time they got around to reinstating my account. the HOM stones were another issue…

After the launch bot attack issues, waiting around for a birthday gift seems kind of easy.

Bunny slippers (I have asked for a year now), a bathrobe and a cup of coffee.

Could expand on this idea and have a Guild Wars 2 Pajama Party. Put a set of jammies, a bathrobe, and bunny slippers in the BLT as a costume. To go with: Bed Hair, pink curler helm, have cheetoes, potato chips, soft drinks fall from mobs all weekend.

But I would settle for bunny slippers and a bathrobe to hang out in some obscure place as some adventurer goes by…

I went back to harvesting yams.

All ghosts have lost their ghostly glow since update. I confirm this. Even ghostly catapults in Diessa are real now.

Also, ranger spirits are real and not ghostly.

I figured it out. I went up and talked to him (he does not give the alt a communicator) but it does unlock the achievement on the person who has the “stuff”. One has a communicator, one has the stuff, but both can get in the dungeon. Very silly, however to have the things soulbound. Should be account bound.

I was doing the events on one character and decided to switch to another character this morning to avoid the dreaded DR.

So one character has the communication device. SOULBOUND
Another has the pieces SOULBOUND

The first cannot use the pieces.
The second cannot get in to give them to Vorp, since they do not know each other.

I cannot repeat the queen’s speech, since the door just knocks me down.

I cannot get the pieces again since Vorp tells the person with the communication device that I have them already.

Am I missing something or am I just screwed?

For me? So far? Fantastic. Fun, epic feeling. Lots of people. Good grief it feels like a combination of a great BWE end event and my first try at “The Battle for Lion’s Arch” in GW1 War in Kryta.

Plus, for some odd reason, my framerate issues are fixed and I am not getting odd disconnects.

You make me want to give you more money.

Games should be challenging, fast and fun. This nails that, for sure.

Only bug for me is that for some reason all the “green names” of npc’s are showing. I have tried checking and unchecking the little box, but to no avail.

I don’t feel like I am working anymore! I feel like I am playing a game! Wheeeeeeeee

Happening with the Champion Ogre in Blazeridge as well. No way to defeat him anymore, he stays at his spawn point and resets his hp to full.

Something is horribly wrong with the event now, it is pretty much impossible to keep the morale up, and since it has failed so many time because of it, this event is just not being done anymore.

Hoping Queen Jennah announces they are going to nuke all of Orr back to the bottom of the sea.

I have been getting the same thing for the last two months, actually. The only thing that helps is a complete log off and reboot, have done all the usual “client side” checks, to no avail.

I guess the game is just meant make me feel like I am running in a big pool of pudding most of the time.

This week, as my own preparation for the one year Anniversary of Guild Wars 2 I have been jotting down as I see them, dynamic events that are bugged, and have been bugged since launch date.

Feel free to add to my list.

Haranthi Hinterlands – Skitt and the Harpies Event. (near the green bridge) Almost always gets bugged when the Harpy Matriarch flies into the sky at around half health and fails to return.

Timberline Falls – Krewe Leader Dobbs. Almost always bugs out when undead suddenly fail to spawn at all in the area.

Timberline Falls – Protect workers while they build the watchtower. Can bug out at any point in the event, most notably when one of the builders gets lost.

Fields of Ruin – Rescue the Villagers from the Harpies (Roscoes campsite) – Still fails to give reward for completing event.

Iron Marches – Viper’s Run —Protect Sentinel Whiptail as he tames another Devourer. The new devourer fails to appear most of the time and the event gets bugged out.

Bloodtide Coast – Save the merchants from the pirate kidnappers. Bugs out when one of the merchants disappears.

I have reported these bugged events on numerous occasions over the past year via in game reporting system with attached screenshots.

I do not display my titles on any of my characters. If I could, I would love to be able to represent my guild but not have the guild [NAME] show up on screen. But then my computer “desktop” is pure black and has one shortcut on it.

I am ok with this update. I had some fun the first day, which is unusual for most of the Living World stuff, I stopped even looking at most of it after the Southsun debacle.

I peek in, if others are having fun, I go back to my own wanderings around the world.

I have reached a plateau on my “Achievements” panel, because most of the stuff left is stuff I don’t enjoy in game.

I could think of some things that would be fun for the game to do for those like me who do not enjoy grinding an event for profit all day, but the game is not geared to that, it IS geared towards a new grind every Living World Update. Grinding farming type people are the user base. I am the odd man out.

I like the wallet. Other people appear to be having fun.

The towers in Queensdale are bugged. The one nearest the outpost is bugged for me. I never opened this chest. It was open when I reached the tower. I have even gone up and used the balloon on purpose and come back just to be sure.

Queensdale Balloon towers ARE bugged.

Well, while we are at it, Inquiring minds want to know:

Why is there no coffee?
Why do Yams only grow in Hiranthi Hinterlands?
Why do the Charr make such nice beds, but the rest of their homes look like a riveters nightmare?
Has no one learned to make a decent set of stairs in 250 years?
What the heck is that big rock in the throne room?
Where did the snakes go?
Where did the dinosaurs go?
Why are there no female Giants?

Please let us sell our support tokens. Who knew it was more profitable NOT to vote?

I would like to have a way to change out weapons to other weapons in my inventory without bringing up the “Hero” screen.

In GW1 we had the 4 weapons on the Fkeys, which of course could be switched out in battle. Given that this is not part of the current system where only two can be switched in battle, what I would like to suggest is to have something similar, like a weapons bag, 2 of which would be “greyed out” while in battle but once out of battle could be switched out to be active.

Just a suggestion. Let the flaming begin.

I won’t go into how I am able to type since some people are not aware there is speech to text programs that are quite proficient nowadays.

In any case, for those others out there who have issues like me, if you need any advice or a shoulder to cry on in game when you have tried the same jump a kajillion times I am more than willing to pay this current kindness forward.

Oh and Arenanet, for the record I am very impressed at the efforts you have made on my (and others) behalf to include new and innovative skills to assist us up those pesky JP’s. If I did not care, I would just silently fade away, I would not come here and pound my flippers.

Also on topic, thank you for reworking the wonderful Hunger Games Beta Weekend event into Evon’s mini game. It was my favorite Beta Weekend end event.

Although I sometimes have massive lags and cannot use my skills properly (just on the bazar map; especially in the sanctum sprint) I would like to help. Most of the times I am able to do the jumps, so I would like to portal you to my place and we will get you up there.

I would try to be not mad at Anet, because I think they are just not aware of what troubles their living story with the high amount of jumping can have for some people.
They already improved the game for color-blind people a little bit, so maybe feedback from people that cannot do these contents will make an impact in the future. We never know.

Well I did get a PM from the Developer who did the Super Adventure Box and he said he thought of people like me when he put in the special moves there and the “Baby” level.

In fact, when the Aetherblade jump with its bouncing platforms and whiz-bang-throw-you-over skills and then the Zephyr place came in and I saw there were more options to jump, I spent a day really trying to do it, since they went through (what I thought) was a lot of work to put in other types of jumping options —-and perhaps vainly-—all for little old me. (yea right)

I do see the work behind the new options in jumping and I do feel perhaps we are getting close to a meeting of the minds here.

Can I buy some magic jumping beans in the Black Lion Shop? haha! I promise to give up the achievement for a chance to admire the art.

I don’t think that getting to the top can be even considered as jumping puzzle. You have only 3 jumps (which are painfuly easy) to do, the rest is just automatic transporation with lightning element.

I do not jump. I have hands that are deformed and crippled, and have yet to find a way to make my hands work with any jumps even with assists with any predictablity. I have not managed to even make the first jump in the Zephyr Sanctum, despite trying and dying and losing lots and lots of cash waypointing to get up.

I was kind of hoping there was something for open world people this time around.

So the short answer is yes, you must be able to jump.

How are you not able to use your number one skill?

If you have even one finger availble, which you clearly have at least one then: Hit R for autorun, press 1 (jump skill), press R for autorun (to deactivate). Repeat 2 more times. You don’t even need to be that quick at it.

If you are able to kill things in PvE, then you can accomplish this.

A large part (pretty much all) of me believes you making stuff up to make a point that OMG you have to jump at least 3 times so that means jumping is a requirement and that is bad because that excludes people who don’t like to jump out of principle so anet sucks etc etc etc.

Since I have no proof I will unfortunately have to assume you are telling the truth so as not to seem insensitive. But think we all know what’s going on here…

I do not use numbers to attack. I use the mouse to attack. I use my thumb (and palm) on the mouse in my left hand to click on each of the attacks that I wish to use on the screen.

I have auto run key bound to the pg dn key which is just above the end and slightly up from the up arrow which I use to move. I rarely use auto run, however since I cannot stop easily. Comical? yes. Useful? not so very much.

I am sorry to have caused a stir and to be called a liar and a sucky player etc. I wish you all the best, and I hope the Charr wins the vote.

its not a jumping puzzle and there is no complex maneuvers you have to do to get to the top, there’s only 3 jumps and its the air training ones.

in fact there’s a lightning crystal right before them under a ramp and all you have to do is press 3 then move your mouse cursor over to the platform and the lightning leap will jump up there.
and if you want to do it the regular way then all that is required is 2 buttons, 1 then W a man with 1 arm and his mouth can do them.
hell a guy with no arms can use the lightning leap and get past those jumps.

not trying to be rude to you but stop making excuses when a-net gives you the option to not even have to use the air jump and then W.
if you want to i will personally show you the path that requires only those 3 jumps and even then if you can’t make it then how hard is it to ask someone in your guild that has a mesmer for a portal past those 3 simple jumps?

First, I use the arrow keys and the mouse to play. I have one finger on the left hand that I use to move using the up and down keys to move forward and back. My right hand only has a thumb and palm that work, so I use my palm and my thumb in kind of a wonky twisting motion to press the mouse to turn and move. I have tried binding the jump to the end key which is next to the up arrow, but this only works for pretty simple jumps, and as I said, not reliably.

I realize that it is very easy for you (and most other people, apparently) to do, but I have tried and cannot do it. I merely asked if I was correct that the new content was —--again—— jump dependent.

I have managed to do a couple jumping puzzles, some of the more simple ones, but ones that take most people maybe 5 minutes can take me several hours to master. I do not have that much gaming time to spend 3 or 4 hours in frustration and pain, just not why I play so I do other things. Problem is, all the new content is tied to JP. The last event/update that I was able to participate in was Halloween. (because the JP did not count towards an achievement, and the scavenger hunt was open world.)

I also do not join guilds because well…see your post and the one below. “Its easy, you suck, you should quit” Every single post I have made in the forums ends up with someone telling me I should quit. It is the main reason I solo. I just like to play, I played Guild Wars 1 for years and have a fondness for the world. Unfortunately, the dependence on Jumping puzzles has left me with little left to do after a year.

I play alone because no one wants a slow plodding player who has to do things in a different way than most, and to be honest, I do not like to have to explain how my hands are crippled, etc. to everyone and I feel I am spoiling their fun by being so slow. This does not bother me, I merely asked if the voting was jump dependent. It is. So I am out.

I again say to you why not ask a mesmer to port you through that 1 part and i even offered it to you to port you but you don’t need to get mad at people over a situation you can’t seem to figure out the solution to.

There is 1 i count it 1 spot where it requires any jumping and if you are telling people to have compassion while you’re being rude to people(i don’t kitten care if they are doing it as well). 2 wrongs doesnt make a right.

There is absolutely no anger in my post anywhere, merely an explanation. Any inference of anger is completely your own.

I do not ask for you or anyone to port me because it is a bother—-an imposition—-on my part on another player. When the diving achievement was taken from me because the Aetherblade JP dive was included a very sweet mesmer came and ported me for 4 hours before I just could not stand to be that much of an imposition on another human being any longer and told them I would just put it in my “Cannot do” category.

Seriously, I am just wishing I could at some point get some reassurance that the game itself is not going to be endless jumping puzzles forever, because then I would finally and truly know for certain that the game had taken an unexpected turn—-one that I could not follow.

I do not begrudge others their love for jumping puzzles. Heck, my best friend loves them, and I even made him do the one at pig iron mine and let me stand below to watch him so I could laugh my behind off watching him do it. I enjoy the art, and I love a good puzzle. Just not JUMPING puzzles.
