This event inevitably gets stuck and the diggers never have the rather lengthy conversation (with the ABC’s) to begin the event. I have reported this numerous times in game with screen shots over the last two years. It is currently stuck.
Gendarran Fields. “Stop the Diggers from digging up treasure”.
Gendarran Fields
Event: Assault on Ascalon Settlement (chain)
Specifically: Prevent Harathi Bombadier and Warmaster from setting up siege Equipment on Nebo Terrace.
These mobs spawn in dead. The event does not complete with their death.
This event has been bugged since update BEFORE Sept update. I have sent in multiple bug reports in game with screen shots.
This event has been bugged since the last Living Story update. The two veteran centaurs do not spawn in, or spawn in dead. The event does not complete on their death, so the chain associated with this event gets stuck.
The toxic offshoot event has been bugged since the last living story update. The mortars no longer fire during the part of the chain where you protect the 3 mortars and they kill the offshoot resulting in 100 percent fail of this stage.
If the silver fed craft o matic were being sold by a player in Lion’s Arch I would turn that player in for scamming. I cannot fathom why Anet did not do the math on this item and see that it is essentially worthless.
Of course I have been much more wary of things in the BLT since I paid for one of the “special dye packs” at the cost of around 30 gold and got….A GRAPE. Reminded me of being in guild wars 1 and the term: I got graped.
The removal of dyes from the drop tables has to be one of the worst decisions ever made by Arenanet. It is mind boggling that they would make so many decisions that are meant to assist the new player in other areas, but then take out one of the most enjoyable and fun things for anyone in game.
Its like someone came in and crushed all your crayons. I have been in game for 2 years and this decision makes me sad for new players who do not have the joy of getting a new dye. On the days when I was having extreme bad luck and poor drops, a dye could make my entire day.
Servers are down or out. Log ins, guild, wvw. On ts with wvw people, everyone is lagging out. Please feed the gerbils.
I cannot FIND my gathering tools to unequip them anymore. Its not in the Hero panel…
I feel like a dolt. Where exactly are the gathering tools now if I want to unequip them?
I have never been motivated by “leveling” in games, I have always been motivated by fun. If I am having fun, then levels will come.
That having been said, I am very much goal oriented, but my goals in games I play have never been set by the developers, but I set my own. Sometimes I look completely foolish to other players (and many think the way I play is quite boring because I am not “leveling” or “grinding for gear”. )
But over the past year plus I have played GW2 (I have played since before launch, I own the CE) it seems the developers have gone out of their way to take every goal I have made for myself, and put it outside of my reach, this then makes me come up with a new goal, and then I get an update and find something has changed that put that goal out of reach.
The above, combined with the RNG which does not reward me for my gameplay, (drops are horrible still for me, I played for a full year before I saw my first exotic drop, they are still so rare, I am stunned when I see one) has made it so I really have nothing to do when I log in, so I just….don’t play that much anymore.
If they brought Heroes and henchmen in, I could do some content I have never done, but as it stands, I have no goals, I am not rewarded for my game time, so no reason to play.

I checked it is V in Zeal trait line. I had liked it even more with the recent update damage-wise since I am often putting aegis on many people and it would do a retaliatory aoe spike into a grouped mob on the removal of aegis on the group by a mobs aoe, but switched back to II to save my harvesting. May just switch to V in big fights now. Again, thanks for the answer.
I will check my traits. I do not believe anything changed recently, however some traits were changed on the update. It may be that the damage to Aegis on guardian now is causing it. (The change from fire to aoe damage on Aegis that was recently put on with the update)
Thank you for your replies. I believe it is the shattering of my aegis.
Would be nice to just see no instance owner in dungeons, or the instance owner for dungeons to be transferred if someone leaves the instance, or just to have the end map not be timed at all for exit.
First I have permanent harvesting tools —-all of them. (on several chars)
Recently I have had a DRAMATIC increase in ruined ore/wood/fiber from the tools ANYTIME anything attacks me while harvesting. When I say dramatic, I mean that it NEVER happened to me before the Wintersday update and now it happens EVERY time I do not make sure nothing can touch me while harvesting.
Was this nerfed recently?
For me, the aforementioned Panic. (great call Tiger)
But one thing I miss not from Guild Wars but from COH is a taunt.
MY KINGDOM for a taunt skill to get stuff OFF my light armor team mates.
Another way to become stuck in combat mode when not actually in combat is with any event that has “despawning mobs”. Many mobs who despawn if the event is completed will despawn while still attacking you. You will be stuck in combat until you exit the area, or relog.
I am not getting near the amount of whispers I was. And when I did, I always blocked, then reported. Once the name goes “dark” on my blocked list (which has to this point only been one day—-GOOD JOB ANET) I remove them from my block list.
Come on, I dare you, gold sellers, whisper me! I got my report button all set.
For the record, there is only one unrecognized name on my “followers”.
I found out recently (and reported it) that the endless combat music, endless “in combat mode” bug and many stuck events have to do with despawning mobs, who have targeted a player or an allied NPC and when they despawn, fail to de-target.
De-dumb.
Iron Marches – Sentinel Whiptail Frequently gets stuck looking for the devourer. This prevents the entire chain of “Devouring the Brand”. Later if the chain progresses, the giant devourer gets stuck on the hill overlooking the group it was protecting. The chain is plagued by the “despawning enemy bug” which causes despawned enemies to continue to target you when they despawn. This is also the cause of remaining in combat mode bug/ endless combat music bug.
Iron Marches – Delivery To Coalforge -Perpetually stuck.
Bloodtide Coast – Kidnapped merchants -Perpetually stuck
Bloodtide Coast- Escort priory through Moleshead -Perpetually stuck
Bloodtide Coast – Protect the quaggan village from krait. Can only be completed if you have the patience to wait for ONE krait to respawn every 20 seconds to fill up the bar. This takes almost half an hour to complete because only one krait spawns and the bar moves so infinitesimally small amounts.
Haranthi Hinterlands – Protect skrit while they collect eggs. Harpy Mother despawns at death frequently leaving the event incomplete.
These are only a few I see EVERY SINGLE update for more than a year.
I find it completely sad that there are still so many events that are perpetually bugged and stuck and have been since launch.
I have reported these bugs thousands of times now in game, and here on the forums and to continually run across them in game is just heart breaking and frustrating.
Does anyone READ the /bug reports from game?
I have even OUTLINED specific steps to take to recreate the stuck event, and still find them. I have given LISTS of “Bugged since Launch” here in the forums. Please, I beg of you, some of these events are behind even bigger bugs, and some prevent ENTIRE CHAINS of events from being completed. Please, fix them.
I would not want to see yet another “punish everyone for the sins of a few” fix to a problem caused by gold sellers/spammers. Messaging is necessary for community, and especially if you have a friend coming in game, or are genuinely new and need help. City of Heroes implemented a new account messaging restriction with disastrous results on the community.
For me there is something viscerally enjoyable when one of them messages me and I can immediately report them. Sort of like swatting a fly that has been flying around the room for a while.
Bam! Got you, you little $%^&#
I am on their “list” it seems and I believe they are getting that list from the forums.
Personally for me? I am glad I am on their list. I block them, then report them. You rang the wrong doorbell buddy. Its like shooting fish in a barrel now.
Correction. It does not do it every time I use it, it does it on Toxic seedlings.
I have the soulbound one, have not exchanged it yet.
Ever since the patch today every time I use it, it makes a loud exploding sound. BOOM. Every time I use it.
My loot is L for Loot.
This is, as far as I know a botting prevention thing. It is really annoying, but so are many of the other punishments you must endure because a few cheat.
“Rather to let one guilty man go free, than to punish an innocent man.” Does not apply in Guild Wars 2. Once an exploit is found, everyone gets punished for people using it. Hence: food that is account bound, not being able to sell food to merchants, Diminishing Returns, once a day nodes…the list goes on and on.
“You cannot legislate morality.” could easily be changed to “You cannot program out bad behavior.”
But programmers and developers will continue to try, to the detriment of us all.
There are numerous walls you can also “leap of faith” through. The crypt in haranthi, for example.
I never got an exotic drop til 4 days before playing a full year.
I have not seen an exotic drop in over 2 months now.
For the first 6 months in the game I was “lucky” if my money in the bank broke 32 silver.
The only way I have been able to overcome RNG and make money is to pretend GW2 is Farmville and hit nodes every day. The game to me now is running around harvesting.
1. Waypoint and Armor repair costs. (would like to see a reward for 100 percent map completion that includes either free waypointing, or reduced cost. Same with armor repair costs. Should be free or reduced for Legendary armorsmiths)
2. RNG and hard battles. Also reduced rewards if you play support since rewards are based on damage done. If you have done skill balancing with impetus to creating support traited characters then you must rethink the way you reward loot based on damage done.
3. More visibility of Developers and “community” staff IN the game, on all servers. If you want collaboration, then come visit more. Play the way we play. Have some instant fun events for community. Bring cookies.
I can think of quite a few more, but I will leave it at 3.
PS. Bunny slippers. (with speed boost)
Same here. I sent in a bug report on it, killed twice, no achievement.
And now is completely not working.
I got this achievement today, using the map here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Cleaning_Up_the_Neighborhood_Guide.jpg
And the handy “holding down ctrl and alt” to locate any I may have overlooked. It took me approx. half an hour.
But if it happens every time you log in, no matter how long you have been out of game, do not try to tell them there is a bug of “permanent diminishing returns” or “no returns” I tried to tell them for 6 months and it got me no where.
I have my own guild it is the same one I had in Guild Wars 1.
We have 9 members, most do not log on often. This is okay with me, since I know them all and know they are busy with real life. I do not mind either if they join and represent other guilds.
I play by myself, and to be honest there is not much that I am good at in the game, so I prefer to stay by myself, since I do not need to be told the many reasons why I should quit the game by people in the game.
There is a lot I will never do in the game, in contrast to Guild Wars 1 where there was little I did not do.
I love Haranthi Hinterlands it is one of my favorite zones. I am one of those people who go to Haranthi at least once per day.
Don’t forget there are also a bunch of small chests as well scattered throughout the zone, which makes it a nice chest run.
The champ train could easily and more effectively be diminished some without punishing everyone, if the waypoints became contested anytime a champion had spawned nearby.
Personally, the only thing that bothers me is not the champ train itself, but the endless and tiresome map chat abuse that goes on now.
I appreciate the post and your efforts, Chris, and having played since the first Beta weekend, I will say that at least for me, there have been vast improvements in the game and I can see that many of these improvements are actually based on player input.
I do not post much in the forums anymore, because, to be honest, the atmosphere of these forums is stifling. In fact, of all the things I would like to see improved it is just this—the overwhelming feeling that one must look over their shoulder continuously or face the wrath of the powers that be. The feeling that everything I do is being watched and monitored for wrongdoing—-or to control the way I do things—-so that every aspect of gameplay is under strict control by someone other than myself.
Much of the time I run into annoyinkitteniments (why that word was censored, I do not know, but strangely ironic and apropos that it was. for those wondering it was synonymous with “hindrance”. ) to smooth gameplay that are controls put in place to deter bad behavior, but that indiscriminately punish everyone for the sins of a few. The overuse of the “soul bound” and “account bound” items—which does nothing to encourage altruistic and kind behavior in the community and instead encourages an atmosphere of greed and selfishness. The annoying “red error message” if you are selling too fast at the BLT, so that your game slows to a crawl while you attempt to clean out your inventory. Not everyone is trying to cheat or game the system, yet everyone is treated like a cheat and scalawag.
There is also this feeling that the developers find the players to be beneath them—-peons—-that must be tolerated while they —-develop “their” game-—and I am not sure how true collaboration happens if there is not an equal partnership.
I would encourage Arenanet to require their employees to play the game. To go into the game NOT on the server they are used to, and NOT with their usual buddies, but choose a player at random, introduce themselves AS Arenanet employees, and tell them they would like to party with that person and play the game with them as they usually play, and get their ideas and thoughts. It would be an eye opener.
Give the players something free every month. Something FUN and not soulbound. Have a weekend of double dye drops, or exotic drops, or something just for the fun of it, without even considering for a moment the effect on the economy or that it might promote bad behavior. Imagine for a moment we are all great people and just play to have fun. Games should be fun.
Also give the players a way to truly make their mark in the world. Give us a graffiti marker with our name on it as a gift, a lot like the “Box of Fun”—-make a placeable that we can set out in world that would stay a short time and say: I was here. When someone strikes the killing blow on a world boss, let his personal flag fly in that spot til it respawns. I would encourage you all to make the player feel like heroes, and an truly integral part of the game. Something along these lines that says the History of this world is TRULY our history.
Again, I appreciate your thoughts and time, Chris. I hope you appreciate mine.

Garlic. Cannot be bought or sold.
Right now you cannot sell or buy garlic. I have asked others to check in multiple areas and they too, cannot buy or sell garlic.
It happens to me, and I too, heard it was the new Low end character model, however, if they respawn, they will be ghosts. Initially, they are not.
I concur with the OP, the targeting in the game makes me laugh a lot. Why am I targeting a bunny halfway across the zone when a guy in front of me is beating the tar out of me?
Glad to hear there are plans to make it actually target things that are important. Like stuff that is currently killing me.
IMHO Bloodtide Coast in general is the most buggy zone of all the zones. Many of the events are bugged every reset. Some have been buggy since Launch. Also I have noticed that the buggier the zone, the lag in the zone gets worse. This is also true for zones where the events rarely if ever get done such as Timberline.
1. Cannot shift click item in inventory to send into chat. Have checked with others and they are unable to do this at this time also.
2. Teq. Fight is not showing on screen, but I hear the announcement “ding” at times.
3. Lots of map “popping” or rubberbanding. I think I am one place and suddenly I am another place entirely on the map. (packet loss rubberband lag)
4. My achievement points went back 25 points for unknown reason.
5. Guild Bug (which others have reported) and Black Lion is slow or acting wonky at times. Won’t open, slow….etc.
6. Champions not rewarding anything.
There should be one with less—- but for me at least, I had to actually enter the maps for it to refresh with the added poi for the map to show 20/21. I could not do it by hovering over the area name on the large map.
The flute is haunted by the ghost of Gwen and does all manner of strange things. It sets me on fire with regularity.
I keep my profanity filter on, and I have accidentally found some weird things filtered that I had to look up why, and found they were cuss words in other languages, the most obscure one (to me, at least) was a Croatian word!
There are also things that are filtered in the profanity filter that the NPC’s say with regularity. Strangeness abounds.
65 percent have seen no change in the “magic” of my drops. But then my drops have always been horrible. I have killed upwards of 75 mobs without a drop at all. I have an 18 slot “junk” bag that is the only bag that fills with any regularity. My first exotic drop in the game came 4 days before I had been playing a year.
Currently: My junk bag is still the one bag that fills.
I have not had any exotic drops in over a month.
I still get blues from world bosses.
So…if I want exotics at all, then I have to buy them from people who have better drops than I do and salvaging greens and blues is just costing me money to do that at this point.
Ooooo AFK purgatory.
Would be nice for a room with afk elevator music and a maze you must go round and round and round and round to get out of….
Anyone remember the Pit of Despair in Dungeonsiege?
Yea….don’t send them to Lion’s Arch….Send AFKers to a pit of despair.
It would be nice for the leader of the group (The lister) to have some control over people joining the group. That way people who are obviously NOT level 80 could be denied, if that is not what the group lead wants.
I only gained access to this tool this morning.
Would like to see Open World as OP suggested for general Open World adventuring, leveling, questing, mapping, etc.
Would be nice to have a section for new people, carebear newbie helpers like myself. etc.
